I think it's a multi-killer. You play as more than 1 killer at a time. Maybe they are AI controlled or maybe you only control one at a time but there are a few around the map you can switch to.

That's what I was thinking too

Maybe 3 are just patrols while you control 1. They all have slight differences and you swap between them so the survivors never really know which is controlled unless they're actively chased.

This is the official photo posted by BHVR. However, everyone seems to have missed the drawing on the shed (far right) where there is a 600, and a face of something like a Yeti or a Wendigo.

    ENJOY

Thats just graffiti. And there is no 600, its just moss/paint and then the graffiti. This just shows that the place has been abandoned for a long time.

To be fair it does look like a painted 6 to me. The a face.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that next killer has multiple personalities seeing that it show him/her looking in the mirror and it shows multiple reflections of the killer with a different mask and to the right there are ppl names on the wall. I'm guessing the names are victims the killer has killed or those are the names of the personalities living inside the killer. So it seems we're getting a killer similar to the movie Split.

    What teaser wait what

I was confused too but I found the picture in forums and I know what his ability might be, it will be a illusionist killer due to their being 4 different killer pictures, He will copy 1 survivor and so and so

They are all different faces though, and copying survivors is rendered useless with swf...

It wont be licensed, so it's not based on split. But MPD or DID is definitely possible. Someone pointed to the journal entries from the event. They injected the serum into themselves, potentially causing said disorder.
  • what if survivor saw pallet ? As survivor if a killer see me i have 90 % of getting the hooked. As a killer if i see someone they get the hook unless they know how play around window. This is around 15 ranking.

I think that you should need the same skill for bot survivor and killer. I got outplayed by survivor playing around window but i get instantly hit when i try to do the same as a survivor.

Also i really really dont care about getting very good with survivor since i only play survivor with IRL friend. Maybe i just hate to play the survivor maybe there a psychological thing to this but i just feel that it much easier less stressful to play killer.

It's an asymmetrical game with two different objectives. They both have different skills required. The best way to get good is play both roles, and see how the other beats you. And go back and forth.

They may loop you better than you can, because they be played more survivor, or even killer and know what you're thinking.

They will never require the same exact skill level.

If you ignore the dev stream where they did state that and even went so far as to compare the killer and survivor capsules, sure.
They have the same type of hitboxes but the killers is obviously bigger. They also specifically stated that when the q and a asked about looping speeds and ground covered BASED on hitboxes.

Yeah cause I play at green ranks for killer but getting matched against red/purple rank survivors with yellows and usually the higher ranked players play worse :/ main issue is when I get matched against solo survivors at the same rank and they are potatoes and it really ruins my expectations. I just don't like games where I get my ruin broken in less than a minute and 3 gens done before I down 1 survivor and struggle to get a 2k, then a game following it where the survivors struggle to do a single gen and I get 2 dcs on their first hooks. I just want game consistency and swf really stops that since you have a coinflip of coordinated survivors vs. potatoes in your games.

Can we clarify on one thing are you suggesting SWF only be available at purple ranks for survivors in your original post? I do feel as though I'm misunderstanding something in your OP maybe you could clarify.

Although the main reason I'm suggesting a SWF Rank is you'd have more control over that through matchmaking. You could make SWF rank's start at 10 for example and everyone would share the pip changes. That is again if I understood your original post but I feel as though I'm not.

In the grand scheme of things though I feel as though SWF causes rank inflation for both sides. You get survivors who don't interact with killer ranking up and as those survivors climb they get fed off of by killers who then climb to a rank they shouldn't be.

My opinion aside I do agree the game could use more consistency but I don't believe that's possible with how different the Solo vs SWF survivor experience is. I'm not convinced it's possible to bridge the gap anymore without major core game changes either.

I would like it swf to only be available at purple ranks and above since these players would typically be in the same play level. That way coordinated and good players would be at an expected level and not be deranking. This would force players to play well and not derank if they want to play with their friends. I don't think a seperate que would work because killers wouldnt want to play on there. It would create an incentive and deters survivors from dcing unless they want to be at potato ranks.

So you want just high rank players to be able to swf. The high tier players that make the swf seal team six everyone argues about? Meaning the low level new players that just want to play with friends cant, and you ALWAYS face super swf groups? Nty

We don't even know what the killers power will be :) Spirit turned out pretty strong :)

She is very strong but that is after a few major buffs.
At the release she was mid-low, what changed her was cooldown of her power from 20s-15s she went from 0 to hero.
If you look at the killers all female ones are strong (besides piggy) and all are slow speed, the next killer being male more than likely 115% and no major power in stoping loops.

I would argue her haunting sound being general and not directional is what made her more powerful. At least to me.
  • I still think them dropping the teaser the same day that Alaskan town loses the sun for 60 days is pretty coincidental timing.
  • powerbats said:

Because the Hatch is a manifestation of the Entity, thus it ignores the RBT timer since the Entity knows that survivor is coming back again anyways.

I thought the hatch was made by whoever made the generators? Which is why it was tied to it.
  • powerbats said:

Ok lets stop with the histrionics here, the hatch isn't a free escape in any way shape or form and you all know it.

    1. In order for the hatch to spawn at least 2 gens must be completed thus it's not a free escape in way, shape or form.

    2. The survivor has to actually get to the hatch and make it out, thus it's not a free escape in way, shape or form.

3.The survivors don't get the hatch mechanic for free, they have to do number 1 and have 2 happen. Thus they don't get the hatch mechanic for free in any way, shape or form

So since we know that 1 and 2 and 3 are true that means the hatch isn't an escape in any way, shape or form.

Lastly all you killer mains complaining that it's free, you've once again been proven to be wrong and are doing nothing but make yourselves look foolish by repeating that disproved claim.

It could be considered a free escape when the survivor that escaped had nothing to do with the 2 gens done.

How do you end the chase quicker?

Stop chasing them and do something else. Chase another survivor off a gen, kick some pallets you need to kick. A lot of killers get this thing in their head where the moment they find someone they chase them, relentlessly, until either they lose them completely or they catch them. It's during this time that the other get gens done because there is nothing to stop them. Really good killers keep pressure on all the survivors by knowing when to just give up on a chase. Yea it sucks that you have to let someone go that you could get, but sometimes it's better to do that because it disrupts the speed the GROUP does the gens.

So lose the chase over and over again, because every single Survivor is going to do the same thing.

That implies every survivor is the same exact skill level and playstyle. Which would negate most of the arguements on this forum.

    Please elaborate how.
Because anytime I get that people they are almost impossible to hit, because they basically play like an Overwatch Tracer. :P

Well, first, if they're lagging that bad they cant get work done easily, and cant hide efficiently. Secondly, if theyre lag porting like when I see them(5/10 ft stutters into a wall), then follow the lag copy and hit it? First time I saw it happen I thought david was saving a hooked survivor. He just kept on skipping into the wall. Post game he accused me of lag switching lol.

Yes, but survivors want to keep their easy bodyblocks that they can perform without skill or map knowledge.
    It is what it is

    This x1000.

Apparently it's 100% A-OK to body block the hook x3 man at the end of the match, but standing on the stairs to nail a survivor trying to escape the basement is BODY BLOCKING! BANNABLE! REPORTING!?!?!.

The cognitive dissonance with survivors grows stronger with each passing day. The volume of twitch survivor mains who endorse this behavior compared to the complete lack of twitch killer mains gives the uneducated derelict newbie the impression that this is par for the course.

The difference in your comparison is that if they 3 block you, you can drop 1 and deal with them, or try to get to the hook. Maybe they escape. They're not holding the game hostage.

If you stand on the steps to where they cant leave and refuse to down and hook them, you are holding the game hostage as they have no options other than dc or bow to your will.
Killer can't hold a game hostage, its just not possible by normal standards. Survivors either finish gens or bleed out. If you all get body blocked in a room or corner, bad play on your side but then you can report for bad conduct.
Are you dense? How is standing in the steps, refusing to let them out OR kill them,  not holding the game hostage? If they're standing there, and cant get past you, and you just sit there, refusing to attack/down then,  that is the DEFINITION of holding the game hostage.
  • I agree. More in depth lore is required. Like during the Blight Event, the lore started off so strong and then it seemed like yall dipped off and said, 'screw it' and didn't care anymore. Like I wanted more to read!

It was all ready before the event. Someone had all the daily text logs so they didnt just give up mid way through....although I'm sure when the new killer drops theyll somehow make it all tie in. I enjoyed the text. It was enough information to tell you the situation, and let you try to figure out what is is, or wonder, without explicitly telling you what's about to happen.
  • I'm fine with any/all of those. Take the aura sight off of BBQ and it is fine. It is really a double perk right now anyways. WGLF is a joke perk. It does nothing other than BP reward. Hinders the killer not at all. No aura site, nothing. Rework DS and only allow one person to use it. Could not care less about BT.

Can't believe anyone would complain about WGLF. It is only a BP perk. CHili would be fine as only a BP perk. Unfortunately, it has aura as well. Like 2 perks in one.

Oh I wasnt complaining. I was using the other perks that are in the weekly rotation of remove or fix them. Considering all it does is give bp (and incentivize saving a teammate), I figured why would it belong in a casual mode, is all. Like most of the perks tbh.

Casual mode should be no perks no items. Just casual generator repair and occasional sprints.

Your missing the point of why they put it on a timer.

    Explain the point then

The whole reason to put on a timer is to force you to leave the hook.

It's another attemps by the dev to create a perk that discourage camping.

Notable example of perk designed to give insentive to leave the hook are BBQ, Hex devour hope and MYC

By taking away the timer it will not force the killer to leave the hook meaning that the perk will not do what the dev want it to do.

Lmao I knew your going to say that. As smart as you are, give this perk into a 3 gen strategy and it doesn't work as you said. Or give it billy, he dashes to the gen and back to the hook. Think before you type
He was asked to explain the timer, and did in a rather fitting way. Why continue to attack with the salt at the end? Their points are valid.
  • Only one problem with a casual mode. Unless it is in KYF, you will fill it with all the tunneling, camping, and slugging killers. People that just want to play toxic for the sake of ruining someone's game. Unless those things were made bannable in that mode, and remove DS as well from that mode, you will have problems.

Make KYF a system where everone can level characters and play them only in KYF and you have a winner there. I'd never play any other mode. Just with friends. I could probably convince more friends to play. Most won't play because of how bad the community is.

Lol just DS? Not NOED, BBQ, WGLF, SC, or BT?
  • Ooooh krampus, wendigo, or the thing killer possibly? I know less likely licensed...but still! That's sweet.
  • I've said it once, sweaty and tryhard just mean they're willing to put more into being the best they can than you are. Which is fine. Let people play how they want. But thinking a ranked/casual split will help is crazy.

You dont think toxic killers will just queue up for casual and go hard on people who they KNOW have specifically queued up for a casual game? Or vice versa?
  • @megdonalds said:

Nope, i met enough tryhard billys and nurses with over 3k hours who used that perk, even at high ranks.

    I'm asking this to stop.
One shot killers like Billy, Myers, and Pleather Face shouldn't be allowed to run that Perk.

Why not? If they have a 1 down it's a wasted slot right? I just like it on meyers for the people that like to t bag and hang out thinking you cant hit EW3 again and show them NOED is a thing.

Medkits are ITEMS, Moris are OFFERINGS. You can't compare the two. Items are supposed to have a noticeable effect on the game, offerings should be superfluous. You're missing the point. Whether insta-heal medkits are OP or not is a discussion for another thread.

The killer is solo and uses one offering for a powerful effect.
The survivor are 4 player and all of them can use offerings.
Have you ever seen multiple mist offerings stacked?

Cleansing all the dull time actually takes more time than you think, especially on stupid maps like swamp or game. And other factors mentioned before. Pretty much the reason why most survivors just give up on the totem hunt and do gens to progress the game. Besides that, the perk isn't too hard to counter if you actually do the totems, survivors just stick around too long on the map after exit gates are opened. This ofc leads to the killer just getting free downs with NOED
That's a really flimsy arguement. You dont have to search for them, most of the time you wander past them.

But the arguement is that if NOED is as overpowered or game changing as people say, 5 totems is a very small thing to do to prevent its existence.

Moris reduce Survivor's lives from 2 to 1 and there's no counterplay to them. They give Killers an advantage that Survivors have no answer to, and Moris aren't even tied to a perk or add-on; they're just offerings burnt so Killers don't sacrifice anything using one.

It directly aids in completing the Killer's main objective of the game. Should offerings really allow a powerful advantage like that? Imagine the complaints Killers would have if there were a Survivor offering that instantly set a generator's progress to 25% per offering burnt. There's nothing like that for Survivors, and there shouldn't be, just as there shouldn't be Moris that are tied to offerings.

And don't tell me that a little extra fog or a couple missing hooks are as impactful as being able to outright remove a player from the game. For Survivors, The Shroud of Binding is perhaps the closest thing to the unfair advantage Moris provide the Killer, and I'd gladly delete that from the game if it meant Moris weren't offerings anymore.

You can keep the Moris in the game, but they should be implemented in a different way.

Instant medkits that heal from dying to full are uh...pretty frustrating to deal with while they're wiping the blood from an already finished chase. Just to start it fully over. Like a full extra life. If only the killers had something to counter that by removing a life....
  • Fibijean said:

@Carpemortum Unfortunately that's only part of the problem, although what you suggest is a good way to close the gap between SWF and solo survivors, which is where I think the real issue lies. But the main issue with SWF isn't pre-game coordination, but in-game coordination, usually through third-party voice chat but sometimes just through knowing your friends and how their playstyles work. There also needs to be some way for solo survivors to reach that same level of coordination without talking to each other externally.

True, but a lot of learning your friends playstyles is really just security. You KNOW you can trust certain things to happen or get done. You're not wondering how the random is going to play, safely or farming you.

The only way to be able to trust people like that in solo mode, is to have the entire community play to not be rude to each other, or play to farm points/sandbag people so that you know what to expect. But everyone is different and you cant always play with the same people. You also cant try to or even guarantee that an entire community will come together and not troll at all. You'll always wonder if your team will have that one random that you trust at the worst time.

Honestly the only time you are even Humanly possibly going to notice ping is when it is above the 500 threshold.
    which is 500 milliseconds...
Ping does not often indicate the The stability or Quality of the conection as often as not it simply defines how far you are away from your host

That's a completely different game where your ping to the server is the same connection as everyone elses, if you lag, they dont. Dbd  is different, if the killer lags, we all lag.

I played league of legends for a VERY long time and dont know what this ping trolling you're talking about even is. Wed talk ######### to people who took days to load, or farm them if they go afk under a tower, but it's one person, not the entire game.

Hiding the ping would just make people leave in game, screwing the remaining survivors to finish the work instead of waiting for a new lobby.

And not notice unless its above 500? I'm sorry you're used to ######### connections my friend. 200 is about my max. And that's on games that dont require quick moment to moment movements or reactions. Even at 150 you can see rubber banding when animations start, you get unhooked, they swing and hit you from 20 feet away, etc. Just because people arent skipping 10 ft intervals backwards doesnt mean it isnt noticeable.
  • If sharing information Is the REAL issue. Dont handicap swf. Just show all survivors each others perks/items in pregame. Perks are now known and can be adjusted accordingly....

Stripping players of their perks because they want to play with friends is ridiculous. "They may be seal team 6, give them 1 perk a piece", meanwhile the rank 20 new friends are wondering why they cant unlock more than 1 or 2 perks and keep getting stomped.

Why would I use a perk that only helps me get more blood points but otherwise does nothing for me? How does that "balance" anything? Lol

Killers are encouraged not to camp with it, sure. But survivors are encouraged to unhook a teammate even if it's at the expense of the hooked teammate because the killer is still there and hasn't even had the chance to leave the area yet lol
At the very least it encourages you to unhook a teammate as opposed to hide and wait for easy escapes.

Breaking news: people try to win game.

”Sweaty” and “try hard” are more annoying than anything else about this community- the insinuation that’s trying to win is a negative is nauseating.

there is a difference between "trying to win" and going 3-4 man like it's an e-sport. The game isn't balanced that way. They should probably reduce SWF to duo's. A pair can still do some very well coordinated things. And two duo's makes for a very tough game for the killer. But it still leaves open an air of mystery. Without kindred, the other pair wont know if someone is going for the unhook or not. Plus blindness perks like knockout and third seal would be viable.

So you're saying everyone has to play casually.

That's ridiculous. While its not an esport game, some people enjoy playing competitively, trying to be the best they can and improve their game to see how well they can do. Some people really enjoy the min maxing of builds to see which is more efficient and can make their game as killer quicker or more brutal (let's not forget they ARE playing a killer whose job is to kill you all). Some people want to be the beat of the best.

No, everyone doesnt play that hard, and nobody should be required or expected to, but to diminish someone elses gameplay because its "too serious" for you, when it falls within the rules and legality of the game, is absurd.

Sweaty and try hard are used as insults but all it means is they're willing to put more effort into playing their best game than you are. Which is perfectly fine.

I have never used them as a survivor. Don't see them too often as a killer. Its usually someone healing right after I hit them or something.

I escaped a match with the daily to take a new item. I found someones emergency kit with a styptic agent.

"Secondary action" I always thought that mean't you could insta heal and then deplete the item.

But I was healing and the Hag found me and as soon as they hit me I was still in injured state but the kit was now gone. ######### did it always work that way? Why do I never see that as killer? How exactly do insta heals work then...

Does that mean the ULTRA version would heal you to FULL health when the killer thinks a hit is going to down you?

Theres an addon for one health state and one for FULL health. You hit another button to use it. If you didnt, then you had some good timing, or weird lag.

Did you heal and then she hit you? Like did she have Franklin's demise and you dropped the medkit after healing regularly maybe?

I was injured and started healing. She appeared and I was SOL. She hit me and I for some reaso nwas still injured but the kit was now gone. I didn't use the add on to my knowledge.

How does the Ultra one work then? You could be downed and heal yourself to full instantly? Or is it only for using on other people?

Used for healing others in dying, or fully healing yourself past borrowed time state, and past injured.

It's always fun to see a killer drop someone and rush them up before they can clean the blood off. I usually get hit for it, but it's hilarious.

Before anyone says instant meds are op: not when they're wasted first 3 mins and causes me to be on the ground in place of someone for entertainment.
