His overall mechanics are not changing. He can easily be ranked after 12 hours of play.

Neither is ANY killer. Because I'm also assuming by optimal survivors you're meaning SWF.iTz_KilLaZ_x said:

Even if not, "optimal survivors" can wreck any killer. Just as any killer can wreck complete garbage survivors. That's not the point.
The point is they havent been out NEARLY long enough to try to accurately place their tier, or utilize them properly, 100%. Not to mention after the ptb goes on, they will likely tweak them for better or worse, so speculation on their viability in game is in no way accurate.
Two different top posts say theyre:
A- Nurse Tier
B- Below Freddy
At the same time.
Give it a week or two, then try this thread. -
Surveillance....is based on regression.
Discordance...is based on progression.
Pair them together maybe?
Distortion paired with OoO?
Gonna be fun.

Yeah likely will either have them on release, or just release the other 2 masks (1 male 1 female) to fit the bodies, as DLC shortly after. But since theres 4 people in the lore, I'd wager theyd give them free or unlockable.redsopine01 said:Guys this is a 4 person killer they only got 2 cosmetics out of 4 right now is all look at the teaser at the names with scorebords -
Well, its legion, as in referencing the demon? So they all occupy the same body/take on the role (I havent got to read the backstory), but I'm pretty sure its 4 not 2. 4 names remember? Maybe just blood for 2? Or since its 2 male 2 female the masks change who and the body changes to fit? So 4 wouldnt be needed.Orion said:@JanTheMan said:

Oh wow really? I mean to be fair they block shock, and there is now a perk that specifically identifies locker leaves, so it's not terribly broken. I also think this will help with the people who RELY on bbq, and dont use it as a supplement.thesuicidefox said:"Hiding inside of lockers now blocks the auras of Survivors while they are inside."
So when someone goes down just hide in a locker until 4 seconds after they are hooked. EZ.
I'm okay with this change actually. As someone who plays both sides

Hes as fast as hag, who is a m1 killer after her traps go off, but you're upset that he has a slight stun and "cant down"? His power is for pressure, and chasing people out of their safe zones. Every power doesnt have to be a downing mechanic. If you can get 4ks as hag without teleporting fo traps (which isnt hard), I dont see the complaint with this killer, except that hes not super overpowered enough?iTz_KilLaZ_x said:
I agree. The movement speed along with having a power that just delays, makes the legion rather weak in my opinionLink said:To sum it all up imo this killer has an interesting way of applying pressure but he lacks the ability to down which is obviously an important thing to have.

I was watching the kings video on the new killer, and it looked like he was not getting kicked out of frenzy hitting the same guy over and over, but maybe I saw wrong. It still allows you to put pressure on the body blockers, and vault fast enough to follow through on someone after inciting chaos.ad19970 said:@Carpemortum said:
I'm assuming this is bait. Considering his power let's him vault faster and chain attacks with reduced attack cd....but ok. Rant away.I think the problem right now is that it's very hard to down survivors with the new killer, unnecessarily hard maybe. Because while in frenzy mode, you will need four hits to down a survivor. So it might be good against looping, but actually downing survivors is a different story. Also, every time you hit someone in frenzy who already has the deep wound status effect, you get thrown out of the frenzy and get quite a long stun, long enough for survivors to gain quite a bit of distance. So then if you hit a survivor two times while in frenzy you'll either activate frenzy again, hit the same enemy, get stunned, wait till you have your frenzy back and then hit the survivor a fourth time during the next frenzy, or you just chase him normally after wounding, however, chasing a survivor with 110% speed without using the killers ability is not very effective.
I think though he'll be very hard to balance. But we also should still wait and see if this killer really needs a buff or not. If yes, it probably won't be easy. The fact that he can pretty much ignore the two defenses survivors have against a killer, vaults and pallets, will make him hard to buff since he could easily be overbuffed.
-
Are you serious right now? I know how looping works. And it usually involves windows or pallets to lengthen. Dont be a dick about it. Look at sesame street and see if you can figure out how not being an ######### works.Orion said:@Carpemortum said:

Im sure it will be tweaked. Maybe stun time reduced post frenzy could help.

No? I dont have issues with games going on forever. If I commit to a hatch standoff, that's on me. Usually I hide and work on gens for points without standing still on a hole for 20 mins. Usually it ends in a chase and death, but sometimes you get that last gen done and get out.SpongeBob420Pants said:@Carpemortum said:

Remove the key item from the game and make the hatch spawn open as soon as 1 survivor is left regardless of generator completion.
- Make it so the last survivor automatically has the exposed status effect.
Make it so the area around the hatch maybe 10 meters (number can be played around with) is a "safe" zone, in which the last survivor while in the zone no longer suffers exposed and the killer can't grab the survivor out of the hatch.
This change would make hatch play much better and the killer would still have a 50/50 at getting the last survivor.
Until the survivor sits on hatch teabagging until you decide to walk away...
Ya, just like the exit gate.
Which isnt fixing a problem exactly....if they cant be grabbed or one downed near the hatch, they're gonna troll around until you commit, step in, get hit, run out heal, troll, or just dance. It's a better idea than just removing it, but I dont think it would work. If they cant be grabbed, make them stay exposed. Make them commit and just go for it. Dont give more safe spaces to an already problematic situation.
When there's 1 survivor left they can't do gens, that's why the hatch exists, if it didn't the game would take to long. I don't know why your complaining about trolling, survivors can do that at the exit gate anyway.
Cant do gens? No, that's bs. They refused to. That's the problem. If 3 gens are close at the end it's the survivors fault, true, but that doesnt mean they should say "eh I dont wanna try working on gens I'm last lemme just find the hatch".
You can, and I have, done generators as the last alive and escaped. I've also had survivors do it to me while I patrolled the hatch.
Having more than 1 gen to complete as the last survivor is a losing fight that requires stealth and drags the game on, the hatch exists so that the last survivor doesn't have to try and complete 4 gens by themselves.
Well, if 4 gens werent done, theyd have to complete at least 1 alone regardless.
Also, its not a completely lost fight. You have perks to assist in this, stealth as a gameplay option, and you're assuming that 1 gen is done with a 3k. Imo the killer is doing his job and the 4th got into that situation by not already doing work.
If a killer gets 3 dead, and the last person has 4 gens left to go, the killer already won. In a game where 2/2 is balanced, you cant EVER expect or deserve to escape. So when you're in this 1 survivor 4 gens to go situation, or even 1 gen to go....do what you can, and earn points. Try to evade the killer, and heighten your game.
The survivor should have to, or at least want to get work done. Otherwise it promotes the mindset of "well technically all I have to do is outlast those 3 and find the hatch" which in turn gets people doing less work, and when found in the described situation, cry about how theres no hope.
LOL, no buddy. people already play bad and expect their team to do 2 gens and die so that they can get hatch.
I've complained about it myself in these forums. The change to the hatch I suggested is simply to improve the hatch fight and make it a race instead of a standoff.
Lol, no buddy, after playing both sides, and seen plenty of complaints about it, I still dont think it would work.
Simple solution would be to remove it and not let anyone be entitled to a 4k/escape but god forbid people actually do gens instead of hiding and trolling for the better part of 15 mins.
Promote better gameplay, dont handicap things. If neither person wants to give in to a "hatch standoff" then let them waste their time.
Also, I didnt even mention the hatch spawning regardless of gens. If it spawns with 0/1 done you dont think more people will be trying to get their team killed first?
Again, its never unwinnable, just heavily stacked.
If they removed the hatch the game would drag on and be too slow, a problem you seem to have.
But I would love to know how you assume my games go? -

It's akin to if the game had a survivor that was helping the killer out by telling them where the other survivors are, and actively sandbagging them so the killer wins. The game isn't balanced for that sort of thing, because this game isn't balanced for that level of communication at all, be it between survivors, or survivor and killer.
And I signed up for an anti-social multiplayer game because of this excerpt from an interview:

SWFs are very social, you see. Goes against what the spirit of the game is.
So, yeah. I want to vs 4 strangers. If they win, they win. If they die they die. I don't care. I don't care if they're on par with Monto, Noob3, HybridPanda, or any other streamer so long as they're not communicating.
People get what they give. I'm not seeing survivors, solo or otherwise generally doing much of anything to make sure the killer gets a fair shake, or fun, nor do they generally play that way. That said, I don't care much if solos get caught in the crossfire, and I'm prepared to suffer the same because I -only- solo.
Gives me some satisfaction that the worst a killer gets from the lobby is me, and an Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

You picked up the game because of an interview held during the halloween event? I call bull.
I picked it up because it was free.
HOWEVER!
I -hate- PVP with a burning passion so I didn't play it immediately because, obviously it's all PVP.
Also I watched some early early play and it was way different, and didn't appeal so much.I researched more. I found the interview, and yes, that was what gave me momentum to play the game.
Most PVP is heavily team based, and I hadn't played much in the way of asymmetrical games.
Anti-social? Interesting!
Hey, I'm not going to be expected to talk to anyone!
I'm not going to be expected to be a part of a social team which will generally demand me go along with meta!
They can't [BAD WORD] tell me how to play because we can't communicate! I can play how I want! FREEDOM!!!
Finally! Lets do it!I started the game, and played my first game as Huntress, and kinda fell in love.
I read up on Min, and saw she was sort of a lone wolf objective do-er, and tried her. I liked survivor, too!
And it was PVP. Blew my mind.
The rest is history. -

As long as DCing isnt punished properly, killers last resort is a DC vs SWF
Well, you can answer it yourself. What does the matchmaking change aim to achieve: equalized queue times or killers' desire to exclusively play versus 4 solos?
Given that it removes the killer's ability to abuse lobby dodging to avoid SWF (but still not any other reason like dodging lobbies with survivors using too many items, having too many hours, having troll-y names, streamers, wearing paid cosmetics, using certain characters, etc.), I think it is fair to address last second switching next.
So when survivors lobby dodged to ENSURE they got with their friends SWF was created. When killers dodge to avoid them they stop it.
SWF was intended from the start....so....arguement invalid.
It 100% is not invalid. They hadn't implemented it and SAW that they were dodging to get grouped. The response to that which would be similar to this is that they cannot see who is in their lobby rather than implement it to reward them.
That's like a parent who planned to give their kids ice cream and instead the kids raid the freezer. You don't as a parent reward that.
So argument is 100% valid.
The arguement was that they invented SWF to fix the lobby dodging friends. Which is a 100%invalid arguement. -

Except not everyone is on the same system or even on pc? Kyf is there, go play non flashlight non mori games there, where fake rules can be enforced?SenzuDuck said:@Carpemortum said:
So you're really saying people dont run moris in normal games that often? I see moris AND flashlights all the time. 2/4 survivors carry them.
Maybe dont take PTB seriously to where moris bother you? You're not earning or losing a thing there. It's literally to test EVERYTHING with the new killer/survivor.
Ntm, if the PTB is so toxic, why not just, idk, not play in it and let the people who want to see the moris and flashlights do it? You're not forced to.
I am 100% not bothered by what happens in PTBs (I never actually said I was) but I'm also not blind enough to see that PTB because impossible to play after a day because the lobbies are dead because no one else wants to be morid 10 games out of 10.
KYF is there for a reason, go 4 man mori and flashlight your friendos. ez pz
You said it needs to be addressed, to lock out moris and flashlights and it would be utilized more. I disagree as it removes gameplay items and mechanics. In your arguement, you make it out to seem like we cant truly test the new characters because of people using other items deemed toxic or needless. But what about half of the perks, items, abilities. Should we lock out all killers other than the new one? No, bc the ptb has more than just new killer and survivor. It has patch changes too. Which may affect flashlights, moris, or any other number of things that we dont know. So it should be left in, at the very least in case a change bugged them out or made them not work.
I also dont believe they're "dead after a day". Nice exaggeration though. -

Yea dude, normal games like getting morid 10 out of 10 games, that actually doesn't happen, and like I said, they actually lose the items and moris in the main game but suffer no consequences in the PTB.
Maybe dont take PTB seriously to where moris bother you? You're not earning or losing a thing there. It's literally to test EVERYTHING with the new killer/survivor.

I never said I agree with what they said at all, I simply stated I wouldn't be surprised if they did. -

* Remove the key item from the game and make the hatch spawn open as soon as 1 survivor is left regardless of generator completion.
* Make it so the last survivor automatically has the exposed status effect.

Why would they nerf instant heals when they just nerfed healing time? It is a one time use that depletes the entire medkit...?
because the devs literally said they wanted to do away with things that are "instant".

because even on the PTBs people run killers that aren't the new one and run their most OP builds just to piss people off, leave moris in KYF so people can see it but nuke them for public matches.Same goes for flashlights, they're ran to annoy people, the PTB usually ends and within a week/two weeks the dlc comes out, you aren't going to get much practice blinding the new killer in the PTB.
It just adds unnecessary annoyances when we're supposed to be testing for bugs / imbalances.
Don't forget insta-heals. Its always enjoyable running into players that spam that #########.
Seriously I just wished they locked that sort of stuff out for public testing.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised is instas are nerfed in this patch tbh.

Not all killers have the same height or camera/blinding locations. Some like huntress can even hit at range while blinded if you're good.SenzuDuck said:@Carpemortum said:
Imbalances include all gameplay mechanics right? Who's to say the new killer perks arent based on flashlights OR Moris? They're gameplay items, and if it's a balance test, all should be able to be tested. Firecrackers? No, they're not actually in the real game anymore.
Flashlights & Moris are the exact same in every match they have absolutely nothing that alters them, if you want to mori people you could run Devour Hope or whatever in the PTB.
and OBVIOUSLY if moris or flashlights are affected by their perks then don't lock them out, it's not rocket science. They're just unnecessary things that people run so they can be as annoying and harsh as possible in the PTB, which is why PTBs are usually dead within a day because no one likes being morid every match and nobody likes being flashlighted every match.
To say they should be removed because it's only going to foster BM matches, why not remove them from the entire game....or remove everything from ptb except the new killer and survivor perks? Because people will be toxic if they want to. Flashlights, moris, noed, DS, or whatever the killer/survivor complaint is about being op/toxic.
Removing those wouldnt end toxicity in the PTB... -
