And? Then everyone can stfu and deal with EXACTLY what theyve asked for since legions inception. "Why is legion crap. Every killer should be viable lile nurse or billy. Legions a joke to loop unless he moonwalks. Etc." Let them all lie in the beds theyve made by being children about a killer not being tier 1.Hoodedfengm1n said:@Shad03 said:

You cant take in 4 instant med kits. And you cant prevent people from bringing them in in a live game. Hatch keys are the only thing I can see removing, but I still think they're fine. You see it in lobby. Deal with them as a new killer and see how effective they are. It's going to happen in live, idk why everyone wants a handicapped ptb.ShyN3ko said:@Carpemortum said:

Yes. Absolutely. Let it be tested FULLY.
In my opinion no.
Hatch keys are rly powerful and not good, if you want to test the killer.
Because the game time is less.
And Insta Heal could be rly annoying, if survivors could use them without limit.
This is DbD.
This community need Rules, if everything is unlimited.

I cant believe it's with you, but I agree. It's called rank to help split players to MORE ACURATE games, not perfect mmr. If it didnt exist we would have rank 1 killers on rank 20 survivors all the time (which is apparently happening atm anyway).MhhBurgers said:@Dwight_Fairfield said:

It's cool for you but "competitive" DBDplayers are a joke in the gaming world and you know that full well.
You cannot be competitive if your game doesn't even feature a competitive mode. (Yeah it's called ranked with ranks but since it's the only mode available the point is moot)
Your "rank" does not indicate that the game is a RANKED GAME MODE. And nobody understands that. -

Exactly. That's really what it boils down to. "Make it EZ for me to kill you or I won't play!" Reminds me of those 4 year olds who threaten to hold their breath when they don't get their way
You're the entitled survivor here, if you want the fast 3 min exit game then do that without me. If somebody at my local hobbystore wants to bring some bullshit I also won't play against him because what's the point if I know that I'm gonna lose and not have fun?
You're an entitled killer. Why should people be forced to play your way or not at all?
Don't like it don't play the game. BOOM, no longer have to worry about items

I paid for the game so I do what I want, there's 4 people at my mercy.
The game is fun for me if survivors dick around with their flashlights, if they wanna escape after 3 minutes they can look for another lobby, I play games to have fun since life is really hard where I live, I have to like work almost 12 hours per week at minimum wage (12,50/hour) so I'm not gonna waste my precious time in a game that I won't have fun in.And if you think that dedicated servers are gonna fix this then you're mistaken. Devs also won't ban us because they know that the queuetimes would increase to ridiculous levels. So guess we're slowly becoming the actual power role, deal with it.
Kids these days think they're entitled to other ppl's time and money.
And even if they descided to punish lobby dodging, we still can DC ingame like survivors

Or just not play like I did during the heavy imbalance period with infinite loops to let survivors enjoy the lobbysimulator. There's a ton of good games out there (apex legends, league, heroes of the storm, war thunder, guild wars 2, Civilization 5/6, the total war series etc etc), I won't waste my time in a game that's as unbalanced as this one with ppl like Cetra who think pushing the limits is acceptable.
When I play surv I never bring a toolbox or ######### like instaheals because it's simply not neccesary, if a killer is gonna go sweaty tryhard/facecamp inspite of this then I'll just kill myself on hook and go to the next game too.
I play the most overpowered army in my tabletop game, I won't field the most BS ######### there either because what is the point of playing a game where you know you'll win?
I just got bullied by a SWF, im deranking again into ranks where I belong.
I literally went afk a few seconds, didnt see that they all brought items..... well guess my badBt is insanely op, just ridiculous btw

This is one of the only big concerns I have. If the dying light target dies, and then someone becomes obsession, does the killer retain the buff. If so, can they gain a second and third buff this way?
Or does it remove dying light until your new obsession dies?
That's a big clarification we need. Or at least be able to see people testing before we can judge how it affects obsession builds.
Maybe theyll re word or update all other obsession perks and we just havent got that info yet? -
Fair enough. I cant argue that it forces you to use it in basically only a situation where you're being tunneled. Lol.TreemanXD said:But It has always been a counter. I agree with a lot of what you said and like you I play both sides survivor more and the DS change doesn’t bother me either i’m just saying that now it forces you to use it against tunneling. The change was meant to limit survivors and make the game less frustrating for killers when it comes to DS.

Nope. You don't get score by doing nothing. It is a representation of everything you did in game which serves much more in demonstrating skill than anything else. Ranks mean even less than the score with the exception of a fresh level 20 that just bought the game.
You can score by doing arbitrary tasks an indeterminate amount of times which may or may not actually progress you towards victory.
Sprint for 2 seconds in the killers terror radius? You get points
Heal someone right in front of the hook and then leave before finishing? You get points
Hook farm someone? You get pointsect ect ect. Points are meaningless because grinding them is too easy and too disconnected from the actual goals of the game
Those are all actions and show involvement in the match. Your personal opinion on what is or isn't important doesn't matter.

You misunderstand. I dont mean they power through it. I mean they cant find it or dont. And struggle through it. Its not always immediately out of the game. Ruin works. Just as well as any other perk at a medium skill level. On top end rank 1s? Of course it's not gonna be uber easy. Every perk can be played against at high ranks.

My idea for Slippery Meat would instead be:
Whenever you lose a killer in a chase, see his aura for 3/4/5 seconds, and make no scratch marks for 3 seconds.
So breakdown 2.0?
That has literally nothing to do with breakdown
It turns it into just another aura reading perk. Alert works fine for that. Drop pallet. Break chase. See killer. We also have dance with me for hiding scratches in a chase. Why do we need another?
When slippery meat fits into the unhooking builds? It could use a tweak to chances or as mentioned, affect bear traps and quicker jigsaw searches, but to just make it another aura perk is boring. -

_Again, my only stance is on the OP "FOR THOSE WHO CLAIM THAT WINNING IS DEFINED AS PIPPING". Anything involving win rate% or beyond relating to the simple correlation between winning and pipping isn't what I am addressing. _
Oh I definitely agree with you on that pipping is not a win.
For me, as a killer, these are the wins. From best to worst.
4k, preventing survivors powering the exit gates.
3k, 1 escape with hatch, preventing survivors powering the exit gates.
4k, when survivors power the exit gate but they were too alturistic, and got themselves killed. As a killer, these are the only conditions I consider myself as winner.
That's where we branch. You think that I lost when somebody escapes via hatch but I don't think in that way. Hatch is a pity escape for the sake of the game balance, giving survivors a not so free but close to a free escape.
You can also see that I value 3k more than 4k that happened after exit gates got powered. The most difficult job in this game is to prevent gen rush as a killer. 3k before letting them power exit gates are far more difficult and valuable than getting 4k because of the mistakes survivor did at the end of the match.
Pipping is not really a win imo though. It doesn't mean anything.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback. I don't have the mind to get into the calculations of win rates, what's fair and what's not. We all hope for the developer to pull out new interesting and perhaps more balanced/fair mechanics into the game.
I can relate to your win list in it's current order. It's all we can hope for when playing as killer. When I feel like I worked hard to get a 3k, I feel encouraged to slug for the 4k. - feels like I deserve it And if I get lucky with over altruistic Survivors I will usually give the 4th the hatch. - don't have to win/4k every game, but its nice knowing I could have
I don't agree with the hatch mechanic as the base game revolves around 5 gens > open exit > escape. The mechanic of 2 gen > hatch for 1 Survivor I feel is a bit weak, but I think it's here to stay. While I agree completely about the hatch, I will feel like I have lost even if they do get the hatch.
It's okay to have differ in what we feel is a win or loss. I hate coming across like some crazy forum madman, because I can probably relate to many things players say. Though when it comes to truth and opinions those never seem to mesh well and the rest is history for now.
Thanks again for your feedback. Nice to have a decent conversation!

Winning is most often described as achieving what you set out to accomplish. Thats why it changes so much between individuals what it is actually defined as, we don't all have the same objectives every game. Hell, I call it a win if I accomplish my dailies half the time

Serious?.... hasn't played in a bit maybe????.. got reset down?... Can't handle playing against people who they should probably be facing?...
They seldom play killer? But has done so. Then they play survivor then dump points in their killers? I do that.
However... If I was rank 17 an had those perks.. play killer seldom.. I probably wouldn't complain about bad MM in this case.
I find it funny when you have players who've played 100s of hours on one side.. then play the other.. and act as though they are new players. They aren't new players. Rank isn't that big of a deal when you aren't new.. playing as rank 20 against rank 1s when you have over 1000s, shouldn't be an issue.
Rank just means you've got some game knowledge to play better against the other side. Your friend earned that knowledge by playing survivor and now just needs to apply it to killer... So they aren't a new player.
They didn't unpackage their game.. play for 10 hours.. Then get matched that way.
He actually did. Just that. Played maybe 10/15 hours total since it became free. Not the 100s you want to make your point work. He plays survivor with us and does it for fun, put his points in LF to play killer (even though I told him insidious is basically just a camp perk) and did in fact get this MM. Hes never been above 16 as killer, or 15 as survivor.
So people he SHOULD be facing? Would be level 15s or so. Not rank 7s because you believe his skill should be higher. That sounds like the elitist league of legends bs.
So actually, he has plenty of room for complaint, if he was complaining. However he didnt post it. I did. Because the MM is a joke. I've always said the rank is a guideline to keep 1s vs 20s from happening, but you actually believe this is a fair match? Come on.
I wasnt trying to cry for him because of the imbalance, just pointing it out. But man you got defensive and tried to eviscerate my story. So who hurt you?
Because seeing legitimate new players get matched against way higher ranks, then seeing an elitist attitude trying to belittle them/refuse to believe it happens because they're not as good as some, is sad. -

Basically, we need two party queues for the solos and SWF. SWF cannot join solos queues and vice versa to keep things simple. Solos will have an easier time reaching their pip zone while SWF will have to do a little more to reach theirs because they are expected to do better with voice communication. The killer will be rewarded with more BP whenever they are going against a SWF to compensate for the potentially increased difficulty.
Done and queues will remain the same as normal because we aren't directly splitting the player base in half.
First: 15 seconds
Second: 30 seconds
Third: 1 minute
Fourth: 5 minutes
Fifth: 10 minutes
Etc etc etc...
Basically force me into mixed rank SWFs with a not even passable array of perks and addons so an SWF can feel oooh so accomplished when reds, purples, and greens stomp a casual.
Huzzah.
Let's punish everyone that just bought the game so they gotta face smurfs looking for easy games.
Translation: (Histrionics => English)
"Every SWF is a commando unit waiting to waste me including the SWF who just wanna chill with their friends. Furthermore, I'll get bullied by every SWF even through some of those games might be my fault due to my mistakes and not because they are a SWF. Nickenzie is a dirty tryhard sweaty survivor who wants smurfs to bully lower ranked players and want killers to suffer so he's also @SenzuDuck follower, ignore him!"
To recap: (Unpopular opinion) Not every SWF is a commando unit so please stop with the exaggeration that every SWF is one. Furthermore, I lose on average 1 in 10 SWF games (depip) because the majority aren't the depip squad. Lastly, I obviously don't advocate smurfs to bully lower levels so please do not put words into my mouth. If you disagree, perhaps tell me some things you'll change to make it better instead of assuming the absolute worst about me.
And you complain about me putting words in your mouth? Wow.
Just gunna disregard the first part as having taking this personally when I didn't intend it to be.
Sorry.
Not trying to be a dick, just willing to realize when I'm about to be screwed over, and say something about it.
Problem is figuring out which 1 of 1000 SWFs aren't sweaty swat teams.
Playing Russian roulette isn't so much fun when there's 5 chambers loaded, and you have to pull the trigger 6 times.
And let's not forget that most SWFs look for easier matches in low rank killers so they don't have to be quite the sweaty swat team.
And that the big issue is communication, and coordination and most any SWF can, and often do abuse it which is still a gigantic advantage no matter how much people want to down play it.
Oh wow, you don't have problems with SWF? How many lvl 3 perks do you have to pick from? How many high end addons, and offerings?
Got that great loadout, or two waiting?
You haven't been taking in my point if view.
It's a totally different experience vsing SWF when you're prepared compared to when you aren't, or can't be prepared.
It's like Tru3 playing perkless. Even he struggles. If a pretty good killer like him struggles with a less than adequate loadout, where the heck do you think the people who aren't as good are?
Are you overlooking the similarities in SWFs seeking easier killers to deal with vs killers depipping to look for easier survivors?
What do you think forcing players to play SWFs will do?
It will force killers to endure teams that are looking to bully less prepared killers. The gamble is really high, and not in favor of the killer.
So indirectly, that is advocating letting SWFs bully less prepared killers via basically forcing killers into games lest they get punished.
Some 70 percent of games have a SWF. Has lobby times at rank 1 sped up any? If not, then that means most SWFs are in lower ranks.
And since most of them want killers in their teens of rank, most of them are going to be closer to 15 than 5.
You want to stop dodging? The sooner killers are on par with communicating, and coordinating SWFs, the better.
If you need solo to be on par with SWF first, then hurry up on that.
If killers are going to be on par with SWF they need time to do the things they have to do, or to be more efficient at it like:
better tracking ability in general. Maybe bake in whispers? Make scratches, blood, and sound more useful? Instead of them being constantly damaged.
2 hooks to kill instead of 3, maybe?
Able to end chases faster. Faster bloodlust, maybe?
Fix huntress' hatchets to allow for more leniency in throwing over obstacles, or beside them.
Maybe appeal to people's inner mercenary, and give them bonus BP for the difficulty spike? I mean bare minimum, that?
Funnel SWFs into red, and purple ranks?
Increase mori frequency?
Increase high end addon frequency?
Lower stun duration, and/or weapon wiping time?
Let's get rid of the gaping huge safezone that is an open gate, or even the hatch.
Let's make killer perks a bit easier to get so people can build proper loadouts sooner? Less odds of people who are already at end game suggesting perks killers don't have.
There's always that secondary, well third objective since totems are usually secondary. The speed a coordinated group moves at is too damn fast, and the secondary is often optional.
I'm just spitballing here. Not super serious, but I don't ever remeber seeing you propose ideas on closing the gap between killers and swf.
Honestly, I was hoping you would give it some thought which is why I usually mention it in your threads on catching solo up to swf. You seem actually interested in making the game better, and I respect that.
You're not someone that just sits there telling people to git gud, or insulting people for not being good.
Doesn't mean much when they have RPGs to kill tanks with, and the people they're ragging on has squirt guns.
At least I'm not demanding the removal of swf, though?
Our DBD killers are pretty shite at killing people, bluntly. Especially when even the weakest of SWFs can have free aura reading, and map.
All the extra steps they have to take, all the time they need is the problem.
In short, to boost killers, we should look at games that have SWF, and Voice, and their killers. What do they have that ours don't?
Jason is basically all our best killers in one, and then some to deal with the speed of voice chat, and dealing with the distances necessary to travel.
And they just now got close to balance with the game.
Our killers need to be closer to where he is. Not completely there, but, well, killers have to be better killers.
You cannot force people to play a game that isn't fun/rewarding. You can't punish them into it.
You have to make it fun and/or rewarding again.
Also you cant tell people what is or isnt fun. I enjoy a challenge. It's fun to see your shortcomings and learn new things/ways to play.
But some people just want ez mode. -
They didnt? He was one of their original 3 killers? So they probably had less balancing perks and mechanics back then????akbays35 said:@ModernFable said:

That is another issue, why do the devs put comedic shenanigans into their horror game.

Myers isnt op....that one tactic requires a lot of time to be able to insta kill. It also requires you to be ON TOP OF your target to do it. No lunge. You cant just walk up at start of game and do it. I'd say hillbilly is more op than myers, simply because he ALWAYS has his 1 down mechanic and it has stupid reach/distance.gamerscrybecauseofme said:The nurse is not OP. Myers is OP, he can insta kill a full health player that hasn't even been hooked. You guys need to adapt your play style v nurse, big clue is, don't keep running away or relying on walls. If survivors consistently struggle against a killer, then you're doing something wrong! IMO, the Dr is far more OP than nurse, he can track you all over the map without being near you and mess up your skill checks.
As for DC, it needs punishing. It's completely undesirable to everyone that plays, other than the minority of players that do it.
Ntm you can out loop a t3 myers.... -
You havent played in how long but still know how to deal with current latch nurse?Tsulan said:
Nah, she's not OP. But you can't loop her like every other killer. Adapt your strategy.Poweas said:Tbf, she is overpowered as #########. But if you break LOS and use iron will to hide somewhere decently far, you'd be surprised at how easily you can lose her. That said though, against a god tier Nurse you will not have a chance.
You have to pay more attention to her tho. How much did she charge her teleport for example. Getting closer in the right moment can save you.
And it would help with server times because every time a game with a killer leaving happens in lobby, you dont need to requeue and wait another 20 mins. It would potentially allow you to wait for just a new killer. Also, dedicated servers would probably come with their refined matchmaking algorithm.
Either way. How would having DEDICATED servers not be better or at the very least, more reliable than p2p based on killer, who only makes up 20% of a lobby. It wouldnt make it worse. And you know it.
But it wont affect people who dont even play the game.

Not going for nearby players to prevent an unhook is fine. Especially when it's terrible bait and you know they have someone else nearby. Honestly camping is perfect there, because that's 3 people not working on gens while one of those is dying. If you leave, that's 2 or 3 people that are now free and you have no idea who is doing what.Weederick said:@Carpemortum said:

Camping is not toxic.
It's the Killer securing a kill. A kill is an objective.
It's not the nicest and most interesting playstyle one can do but then again camping in CS or PUBG is also not the nicest and most interesting thing to do, yet people are mature enough to find a way to deal with it instead of crying out loud.
It's only in DbD where people refuse to adapt and instead rather request Mommys help.
I would argue camping in DbD is different. Mostly because how the game objectives work etc. People hate it, because like PiiFree said it's not the interesting playstyle for both sides.

You failed at every aspect of the chase in order to get on the hook. It's completely fair to lose when you fail. If you didn't lose when you failed, then failure would be indistinguishable from success.
There is not camping thread without your messed up logic of failure. There are situations, where survivors can caught easy. And beeing caught once might be a form of failure, it shouldn't cost your game.
Camping is one of the design issues of this game. It's not gamebreaking, but it hinders a lot of things in DbD. Like also that the game is design with teamplay as an option in mind. It doesn't work and break the game in edge cases especially for killers. But we all have to live with it, because it's part of the game. Hooks work like the do. You can't fundamently change it.
One could simply increase the sacrifice time. Has very little impact on normal players, but gives survivors more gentime against campers.
If camping is that unfun and yet a very effective "strategy", it should be toned down to represent its skill-reward ratio. The easiest strat should NOT lead to very strong results. Same with genrush.
Increasing sacrifice time would hurt all killers. It gives survivors more time to finish a gen they are working on, before going for the unhook. I can count the times survivors unhook in the last second before the next phase.
Those always worked very time efficient.
And it's not a huge issue, because it's boring for both sides. I think if the general lifetime of killers get's improved without making camping more efficient, you will see it less. But it will never be gone completely.
I wouldnt want it gone completely, just better balanced. You can almost always force a win if you play scummy and camp/tunnel at the right time. Bait them from the gens and killsecure. Easy win.
About your second part, yes you're right. But doesnt that mean, that camping is currently overtuned? Because why would killers resort to camping if it wasnt the strongest play? Lets be honest, when you start to lose, the first thing you think about is tunnelcamp, cause it swings the game right in youre favor. Just gotta try and bait and not facecamp only.
The other option, not playing around the hook, is harder to play, yet doesn't always give better results? Thats my issue, wether its buffing noncamping or nerfing camping, the gap should be closed.
Camping and tunneling at the right time? So if I see 3 people waiting at the hook, I should just leave? And then when they unhook them and i see a healthy survivor AND an injured one, you want me to waste more time for a "fresh" target?
Sorry, but those are exactly what killers are supposed to do. Kill, and ensure their kill.
Dont try to unhook a camped player. Dont try to lead the killer to others if being chased. Because that's what it is. Chasing. Tunneling is a made up phrase to try and make killers feel scummy about playing optimally.
Those are legit reasons to camp. What i mean is, camping as a mainstrat and not going for the nearby players, but preventing the unhook. And if unhooked, going for him while ignoring others.
I think many survivors and also killers have forgotten how strong killers can be, if they choose to.
A hook and a nearby slug is a win condition. A hook and 4-5 gens left is a win condition. 2-3 slugs is a win condition. If killers pulled through they can win often thourghout a game. They choose not to for the sake of fun.
If I see someone unhook in front of me I will 100% hit them again. I would be stupid not to. It's my goal. It's also the exact reason Borrowed Time exists. And why Breakdown recently came to be.
Now if someone decides to hit them down and then chase another, is based on circumstance.
However, if it is painfully obvious the unhook was simply a farm, and not any actual attempt at a save, the farmer gets it.
Also, killers can, and do win, a lot because of camping. Altruistic survivors make that possible. Any condition can be a win with the right and wrong people playing.
Fun, however, cannot be defined for everyone. Some killers (when i play killer) play just to chase and hit and not care about a 4k, but to be the killer. Some want that 4k every game and will do whatever it takes. But fun is fun for them. And if you're not having fun, (I dont mean this in a spiteful way) perhaps change up your playstyle, or what you define as a win, and play for fun. If it's still not fun, play something else. Not because you cant accept the game asis, but because if something isnt fun for you, why bother wasting time with it? -
I said better, not perfect. Read my ENTIRE post. Where I say it hells prevent level 1s playing with 20s. It helps mitigate the issue. I never said it would rank you with just your level. That would be an actual ranking system. Which I said immediately, this is not.NekoGamerX said:@Carpemortum said:

There isnt a ranked mode. It's a "ranking" for mmr/Elo. Its why there are no rewards or real seasons.
if it for better match making why am a rank 6 or 7 with 3 in red rank and red rank killer i'm playing solo btw so i like to know.
and i got screenshots of this match making.
I've also been paired with 4 or 5 ranks apart. But never have I in red been paired with greys. -
You should invest in a better tv (input lag) or internet. or a new console. Because my skill checks never have that issue. Also maybe turn up sensitivity. Because I've NEVER had someone get that far before I saw what happened. It's like saying you get 10 fps and literally cant see what happened. Which is absurd.TRGraybles said:@DwightsLifeMatters said:
Devs are pretty good at ignoring things. They started to completely ignore me and any question or suggestion of me lately. Probably because I'm one of the person who points out straight problems and mistakes of the devs. I feel sorry for you console players. We pc players don't have it good, but I know you guys have it even worse. At least you got 60FPS and up, tell me again how fun it is chasing a Survivor that 360°'s you and is halfway across the cornfield before the screen catches onto what happened! Or when a survivors's skill check timer jumps 1/3rd of the time in less than a heartbeat!
Also, chasing is great. Probably the most fun part of the game. Even when you do it poorly you learn better tactics. Like when someone 360s side step them, or walk backwards to make sure they dont double up on you spinning. Plus its rewarding to catch that one survivor who thinks they're the #########.
I mean, you dont want survivors to just FALL DOWN when you find them do you?? -

And if you're being CAMPED and you know what it is, why would you expect anyone to try, get downed, and also hooked? That rewards the camper and further invites your rage.
You got camped. It sucks. Move on to next game. Dont get mad that other survivors were smart enough to not come around. -
Because there isnt a rank. That's like saying a prestige 3 kate is inherently better than a p1 jake. Because of their "level".kamisen said:@Carpemortum said:

Or a devotion 4 level 50 is better than a 0 dev level 45. The numbers mean nothing because they're stat trackers. They better match you. It offers no incentive, or drawback for NOT doing well.
The system in DBD is not a competetive ranked model. Period.
