Again, if it happens multiple times a week, let alone twice a day, its very much an issue that needs to be taken care of. Sure, its not at the degree of the old times(Because, again, the people who had the time and energy to keep a game hostage for a whole hour was rare AF).
What you people are saying is basically the following: "people being shot nowadays isnt an issue we should look into anymore, because it's much rarer these days and the medical field has grown enough that the vast majority of cases end up fully healing, those people who complain about being shot are really entitled nowadays to wanting to reduce gun violence even further".
2 minutes of not being able to play, adding the matchmaking done for that match too, which is definitely at least 5 minutes on average, which makes it 7 minutes being completely wasted not playing the game. Have that happen to you at least twice a week, and you have 14 minutes adding up weekly where you're wasting time in matchmaking because you're gonna join a game with a killer who has a specific slug build on people who figure it out a bit too late because there is no way of telling that someone has a slug build untill 2 people are already floored. That's almost 1 hour per month. Consistently. Those matches where people held the game hostage for up to an hour? Happened at best 3-4 times a year.
I am acknowledging an issue and trying to find a way to fix it without affecting normal gameplay.
You're comparing having to wait 2 minutes to play another game, a video game, to being shot.
I'm done here.

I don't know your exact situation, but guys really like to insult closed friends all the time lol.
I have played in swf with a few girls, and they all don't escape insults and profanities thrown their way from my friends (not me because I'm shy and usually don't speak much with girls around).
If you don't know them at all, then yeah they are abusive pos. But if you know them for some time, even a few days, then it is possible that they start looking at you as a friend. Guys are weird sometime even as a guy I don't understand them.
Oh yeah I just meant toxic people use that. You're gay? F bomb. Black? N word. Chick? Vaginal insults.
I assume most are 12 year old wanna be cod trash talkers just trying to be edgy and hit chords.

What?
Do more than 5 totems exist on a map at a time?
I just find it funny that you think 5 heals max is a hard limit. As if people heal more than 5 times a match and still manage to keep the game together. If a single person has to heal 5 times and you dont get out, SOMEONE is doing their job wrong.
-
@Hoodied said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1154929#Comment_1154929
Its the truth however, you get 5 heals max with it and it can take a while to actually heal as you need to cleanse a totem then get into a locker, you are taking longer to heal with inner strength than medkit or selfcare, also if it removes the chance for NoEd then the perk is literally doing its job
Lockers are common on some maps, I've literally went hunting for a locker before cause I couldn't find one before
And Coulrophobia only works on Big TR killers, which requires you to literally have a loadout that consists of having a big TR to slow down healing, I have never seen any killer use this in the Red Ranks, I have seen it ONCE the entire time I have played this game, and it wasn't even on a clown.
The mend-snap situation is actually intended I believe.
"5 heals max".
Lol.

Everything that you have just posted only verifies my original post that rank 11 killers can steamroll lower ranks. I think that my ultimate point that ranks are meaningless kind of got lost on you. Maybe the red rank survivor should be green. Maybe the green rank killer should be red. It DOES go both ways.
(And just because a low rank survivor dies it doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve that rank. Even the best players die on occasion.)
No, I was responding to your response of my ORIGINAL comment. I'm not arguing OR missing your original intent.
You said rank 11 killers steamroll lower ranks.
I said that's because the survivors dont belong there more often than not.
You ARGUED THAT POINT.
I elaborated.
So maybe you're missing the entire point of this conversation?
-
@CountVampyr said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1156723#Comment_1156723
Or maybe it could be the other way around?
Nope. Its braindead easy to get red ranks as a survivor. Play however, as long as you live so long and maybe get out.
As a killer, you have to play to their emblem system every game. Mori all 4? No red rank pip. Kill too fast or have people give up on first/second hook? No red rank pip. Have 2 escapes and gens done faster than you can handle? No red rank pip. Get the very elusive 4 man hit squad? Definitely no red rank pip.
It is CONSIDERABLY easier to get red ranks as a survivor than it is killer. So, more times than the opposite, survivors casually get to red ranks without even really trying, and end up facing lower rank killers (12-7) who may technically be a higher skill than their "rank", but due to the fact they're SO good that they cant get emblems, they cant rank up.
Or they're actually that rank, deserve to be, and the suurvivors are a higher rank than they are supposed to be. Leading them to believe that the killers are just in a better spot. That the game is killer sided.
But true red rank survivors who play well, have the edge over true red rank killers.

Red rank should be hard to get. I got rank 1 with survivor from looping and I don't play much and didn't sweat. It pissed me off that they just give it away so easily. It should be something you have to sweat for AND it should reward for you obtaining it (cosmetics)
Except, that it's not a rank, or a ranked mode. It's a matchmaking tool.
You want a reward for telling the matchmaking tool that you can play by its algorithms and exploit it?

Can't be nice to someone to who says that ruin was more important than the rank reset. Ruin wasn't important for the game, I'm playing DbD long enough on both sites to know that ruin wasn't important for really good players. I know enough players that don't need to play with ruin. Oh and they still get 4ks. Weird huh?
I mean, you can be nice to everyone, first off.
Secondly, ruin was more important, based on the sole fact that rank and its reset are meaningless numbers for a matchmaking tool.
Add on that ruin was a risk/reward that caused players to learn how to do great skill checks or look for bones, its EASILY more important than rank reset. At least it was.
Now, however, rank reset can be good or bad, but ruin serves no purpose in assisting players learning or being placed where they belong. Because ruin is now a non issue to new players.
It was always a non issue for GOOD players. Now it does nothing to weed out the good or bad, as many perks seem to do.
Also, I've been playing for long enough to know what's good and bad (and useless) for the game too. (I say too, giving you the benefit of the doubt, even though I really dont think you're that old of a player). The ranks need work (because they're not rank, they're a matchmaking tool) but saying the ruin change didnt affect how people rank up is asinine.
All that aside, I'll echo my first point: you can be nice to everyone, regardless of their opinion. You not doing so AND trying to justify it just shows what kind of person you are, and makes you look really combative. Enjoy that....

There is nothing a "toxic killer" can do that a SWF doesn't do by default.
Even if its just casual buddies login into their xbox playing together they are still more toxic then anything a killer can do ingame.
Who hurt you? Because that logic SCREAMS emotional damage.

You have full control over that. If a survivor heals you and you don't wanna be healed. Just run out of the healing animation. Usually once you ruin out of the animation, they won't try to heal you again

Yeah, I didn't get Léry's once in the 100 matches. The Realms with more Maps have more matches played in them, but the difference is not dramatic as you pointed out.
Yeah I didnt mention them being higher because each of their maps was around 5, so it washed out for actual map appearance and not realm. Still odd that Lerys is that low.
-
Honestly, I just wish survivors would stop being so hard pressed to heal me when I'm very obviously doing work or not interested in heals.
I've stopped, shook no, pointed away, and gone back to work to have someone watch me fi ish the entire gen trying to heal me.
Even if I'm not running resilience, how can you not understand that I'm not going to stop what I'm doing to let you heal me, now you're wasting your time.
-
So Lerys, Hawkins, and Springwood are a little low, but the rest seem to be pretty evenly spread.

So according to you, the EGC shouldnt be neccesary because those few times survivors took their sweet time to leave the premise to try and make killers dc was fine? Remember? The whole game mechanic that was added to remove the ability for people to basically keep someone hostage for a few minutes? Realistically, it wasnt that much longer either, at most 5 minutes before survivors finally left the premise, which is only 300 seconds. Great to know you dont mind that then, ill ask the devs to reinstate the old ways.
Hostage For a few minutes? Oh honey... people would hold the game hostage for up to AN HOUR. So yes, the EGC was needed.
Now you're just really stretching and grasping at straws.

Threatening with a bribe. It all comes down to holding them buying something above Behaviours head. "Want me to give you money? Yeah? Yeah? Then FIX THIS #########".
-
Asking why something is buggy again is fine.
Threatening them with the "I was gonna spend money but I wont til you fix this" is a little entitled and wont yield very many results.

Ok, this proves that killers want survivors to just spawn right next to hooks and have nothing at all but an open area.
No, I dont.
Entitled people want easy games. On both sides.
SOME killers are mad that people can hide now. When they were until this release mad that looping was the only thing survivors do.
SOME survivors complain that the EGC isnt fair because with 1 gen done and hatch closed in a 1v1, you're basically screwed. When it was added because they were sick of survivors standing there afraid to even go for hatch and refuse to do gens for 45 mins.
Certain people will be like this everywhere, it has nothing to do with a specific side. It just happens that they play a specific side.

I think Merciless and 4k shouldnt be related, or we would end up in a full Freddy NOED meta, so meh. However it should always be related to which killer your playing, having a general system for all the killers is stupid because a Spirit/Freddy/Good Nurse dont do the same as a Trapper/Clown/Cannibal, I mean, how are you supposed to pressure gens like a Freddy when you have to put all those traps down in early game.
So my take is emblems rating should be related to the killer you're playing, not about kill or that, but how you did as THIS killer.
You dont "put all those traps down" in early game. You do one or two, and the rest as you go. You dont waste 5 mins searching and placing traps.

And safe pallets? Only like 2, by the bathroom. Hell theres usually one pallet that TRAPS the survivor if the gen isnt done yet.

People always complain about how survivors have the edge over the killer, but I routinely see Rank 11 killers roll over groups of survivors several ranks lower.
Usually because those survivors shouldn't be there to begin with.
-
Had a game yesterday where I as killer, green ping and LAN connected, grabbed through a survivor 3 times, the third showing a grab, sounding a hit, and letting them unhook.
Then the fun ones. Hit someone at a pallet. They go down. Then they stand up, teleport, throw the pallet, and go back down.
What the ######### is that about?

Yep. Like not being funny, I can see the bushes and everything fine.
Granted, i play on a monitor that is a little "washed out" in terms of color, so everything seems a little brighter than my big ass tv, but yeah I can see things great. Only when I'm all bloody claudette by a jungle gym on yamaoka is it close, but I can still see that as well.
My first match on Dead Dawg was as killer actually and wasnt terribly hard to see.
Now if I was on the tv, or had my pc settings dark, I can see how that may be a little harder to notice, but overall they seem about the same as the rest to me.

Has nothing to do with being good.. Just from personal experience it's more of a pain in the ass pipping off lower rank killers because they either tunnel vision on 1 person or are more likely to camp a hook
And if you played well, those things wont matter. Unless you're caught first, every game, and camped tunneled to death in all of those games, you can still pip up easily.
-
@Spirez said:
Yes there is one way. While the match loads there will be tips under the loading bar. Sometimes there will be a tip on going against a certain killer. Whatever killer is named there is the killer you’re going to be against. Everyone usually has different tips so yours might not say a killer but your other survivors will. It’s random.
That's only for like, the first 2 or 3 times you face them...

Right... so chutes and ladders is competetive?
In the terms of gaming and esports, this is NOT a competetive game. It's a pvp game. There is no rank, no reward, no nothing other than playing against "better" players.

What is the actual reasoning behind rank resets to begin with?.. All it does is force people to play with lower skill levels, cause frustration and make them have to grind back?
To seperate people based roughly on skill and time played.
It's not a ranked system. It's a matchmaking tool. If it didnt exist, the "best of the best" would sit there stagnantly and new players would likely never get there. If you're good, grinding back up isnt hard anyway.
-

Semi random. Weve theorized that they COULD control what was in it, but weve been told its random.
However, with the archives, the devs have told us that they CAN manipulate it, because as they put it," if a perk is required to be used for an archive challenge, it will be available in the shrine at some point during that archive."
So its randomish, but they can technically set whatever they want.

Shows how stupid some dbd players are. Ruin wasn't a God tier perk it was useless on high rank. It doesn't have anything to do that they changed ruin that everyone is getting rank 1. It's because the rank reset
