I had two games in a row on this godforsaken map so far and it was simply a mess. There's crazy lag and the framerate is anything but reliable on this map, it actually makes me lose chases. Also the overall layout is even worse from a gameplay point than the Silent Hill map, now that says something.
-
Keys need to be removed/reworked immediately, there's no excuse at this point. This drastic nerf to Franklin's literally removed any remaining counterplay to this broken mechanic.
-
-
I refuse to let this discussion die out, keys NEED to be addressed as early as possible. It's a disgrace how moris are considered problematic enough to be reworked yet again whereas survivors get to outright cheat the system with keys being handed out like they're candy.
I literally get pips stolen from me due to survivors abusing this mechanic to escape as duos or trios, there is no counterplay to this. Can you at least introduce some depip protection against this as long as this exists? The hatch should remain hidden until the very final gen has popped and it should only enable escape for ONE person, no more.
Maybe turn keys into second chances to enable survivors to open the hatch that was previously closed by the killer, that's it.
-
Just give us Springtrap already.

I feel like the swamp maps have the worst collision of them all when it comes to using your power as Blight. Some trees simply let you glide along without even letting you bounce.
-
This game definitely could use some more fanservice, can't have decent horror without some sexiness in there.

It seems to be the license maps that suck the most. Lery’s is the only non-licensed indoor map and as you said it is the only fun indoor map.
100% this, it's always the licensed maps that are the most awful to play on. I wish there was a way to disable them forever, I hate them all.
-
Another case of blatant key abuse in an evergrowing series of incidents.
I worked my ass off to set up a 3-gen against a streamer and his pals and was robbed once again due to the mere existence of a key. I didn't even pip despite the high amount of bp I was able to amass, all just because the key removed any further interaction between the killer and survivors. This is unacceptable.
-
If you ask me her traps should kill on hatch as well, it's absolutely ridiculous how many times survivors bypass the kill condition by simply jumping through one of these. And that's without addressing keys and how broken they are right now.
-
I'm glad we have come to an agreement then. Especially you, as a Trickster main, should be welcoming towards buffs to your favorite killer.
-
Trickster is an inherently weak killer in need of buffs, no amount of videos can change this sad fact.

ultimately this is the right answer, albeit a bit meanly delivered.
if you're playing trapper, play for fun. seriously, just don't worry about it.
i hate keys too when i'm playing killer, and i play trapper too! but the first step is just putting these concerns out of your mind and concentrating on the fun aspect.
There's no fun whatsoever in seeing the first 2 gens pop as you set up your traps and to see the remaining ones light up with each down you get - and that's when you're quick at ending chases. It's truly appalling how weak Trapper is in his current state. To experience a hatch escape on top of that is just additional insult to injury.
-
Isn't this year 5? But yeah, it almost seems like the game managed to devolve this time. Two bugged chapters in a row (Blight & Twins with tons of issues, many of those only being addressed over several months later) and the weakest killer release in the history of this game (Trickster), all of those which required immediate attention from the devs.
Now that's just one failure after another. The upcoming RE chapter is their one and only chance to give us a good chapter this year, otherwise it's over for them. So far this year comes pretty close to being the worst in the history of DbD.

I agree that this perk needs a change, but what is your idea..?
Well my idea is pretty much in the original post, all I want is to turn it into Mettle of Man for maybe one second once a survivor presses the action key. The killer would get no notification of it actually being activated so there's still plenty of mindgame potential left.
@GargledFire said:
I'm tired of killers abusing auto aim and latency and not having to actually think about where they are swinging. Then they whiff because someone uses a perk to counter this very problem, that's been in the game since Starbreeze owned the license and go complaining.
Killers back then didn't complain anywhere near as much and thought dead hard was fine. Just use your brain, where is the survivor aiming? Is the survivor looking back? Has he used dead hard earlier in the match? If so don't go for massive greedy M1 lunges, position yourself better, use mindbreaker etc. Dead hard is fine where it is until killer hit detection is 99% perfect, then maybe the dash can go.
And for those who complain about DH for distance, that's how bloodlust feels.
I sure would love to have bloodlust at a mere button press.
-
Yeah, it's ridiculous how they decided to feature an extremely flawed killer for this chapter without even giving her any buffs or slight changes to compensate for her current state. To quote an earlier comment I made on this issue:
1.) Improve her hitboxes for the puke (regular and corrupt) so that it don't phase through people without any effect anymore. Increasing the speed of her projectiles would be very helpful, too.
2.) Enable her to suck dry fountains from any distance, combine that with a channel time which grows in duration the further away the selected fountain is. If she stands in front of the fountain, make drinking almost instant. The addons which make drinking faster should affect her channel time instead.
3.) Give sick survivors a debuff to their repairspeed, anything that can help at slowing down the game is direly needed on Plague.
4.) Give her addons which alter the handicaps sick survivors receive - those can include effects like oblivious, blindness, broken and many more. Removing the heal from fountains should be possible, too. In return Plague loses the ability to suck dry fountains from distance.
Feel free to stack any of these ideas with each other.
-
I only play the game if there's a Rift going on, in between the breaks I outright ignore DbD since I don't consider it a worthwhile experience while I'm looking for casual fun.
-
Well according to these patchnotes the j-flick should still be doable on Oni who actually is far worse than Blight at abusing it. So the biggest offender hasn't been addressed yet.
-
I guess you still could try the cosmetic glitch to swap out her axe with another one but this is definitely detrimental to her gameplay.

I suggested to make a stage mori animations. Like mori by the window, mori by the wall, mori by the barrel etc. But it's a ton of work for animators.
Friday the 13th has that kind of system, Jason can utilize his environment for some pretty nasty kills once he has a survivor in his hands.

Yeah, let's complain about survivors instead and how they need more nerfs to their meta perks.

if youre playing wraith like a 115 killer and not utilising your cloak in chase too youre playing wraith wrong.
If you go into stealth during a chase just to decloak again all you do is reset that chase.

@GeneralV said:
Freddy's rework is literally the most disappointing of them all...
The 2nd one for sure but I was talking about his first one which turned him from the worst into one the best killers. Now that's what I call a GOOD rework.

@Aneurysm said:
Doc is the obvious answer, apart from that there's been buffs to wraith (speed) plague (default fountain) trapper (resetting traps, still no bag default sadly) blight (height) clown (you might find it underwhelming but he's still better) demo (multiple things) trickster (still crap but again, better)
Some of these may not be game-changing but they've all been improved however slightly
Doc might have gotten easier to play but he still remains mediocre in terms of powerlevel.
Wraith is a 115% killer with no power once he leaves stealth, he gets looped to hell.
Trapper still has to pick up every single trap while losing over half of the gens during early game.
Plague has the 2nd lowest killrate in the game and is the least picked killer despite that QoL change.
Blight is a mixed bag due to the macros being used on him to improve his performance. No idea how he plays without them.
Clown remains unchanged in terms of gameplay.
Demogorgon still announces all of his actions to the survivors via global sounds. His addon rework was lackluster.
Trickster remains the worst killer in all of DbD.
To be precise, I consider a rework a success if it manages to increase a killer's viability in terms of tiers.

The rework isnt supposed to make them a tier or anything
Reworks are for QoL, which the doctor one did.
Also as for nurse, the fact that it was nerf was GOOD. Rework does not mean Buff, it means change. And the nurse change was good, do you want 5 blink nurse back? 🤡
The goal of a rework should be to get ALL killers to an equal level of power, so why not make them all A-tier to give them a chance against these pesky SWF groups?
-
@Luciferr_2nd said:
TL DR: Doctor, Nurse, Bubba.
Doctor still is a weak c-tier killer and Nurse actually got nerfed. Bubba might be the only one who might have gotten better.

@Brokenbones said:
Doctor's rework was good in my opinion
His rework kept his power the same but simplified and made him both stronger and easier to understand for new players on both sides.
Doctor suffers equally like Clown from the fact that survivors will make you eat every single pallet they find, doesn't matter that you can shock them. They will simply pre-drop the pallet and you either have to break it or deal with a Scooby Doo chase. It's already bad enough that survivors can revert from madness 3 to 1 with a simple skillcheck which undoes all of his efforts at slowing down the game. He gets genrushed to hell like most other killers who lack actual map pressure.
-
She's far too weak, this annoying bug caused by decidated servers is one of the main reasons why she feels so extremely bad to play as. It's literally luck if you hit someone with your projectile or not, the same goes for her regular puke which still makes survivors scream but doesn't infect them at all. She truly deserves a rework after 2 years of negligence.

Pretty unimpressed with the rift skin, it's not aesthetically pleasing to me (not enough detail to draw the eye on any part of it), but I disagree about Plague not having any good skins. She's got some gorgeous cosmetics. Just look at my Vommy Mommy.

The thing is that you could simply equip the bloodred recolor of her base-outfit and you'd get almost the exact same type of body cosmetic for a lot cheaper, too. She deserves better and different cosmetics, this is just devoid of any creativity.

Because trapper and wraith’s designs are fairly open ended. Trapper is a big dude in a mask and wraith is a skinny guy in a cloak.
Plague is a tall sick women who carries a censar and has to have a head piece
And yet the art-community of this game is still able to create something new and actually original under these conditions. There's no excuse for the actual art-team not being able to meet the standards established by the community.
-
@Phasmamain said:
I don’t know. The one with the worms and this one look pretty unique.
Anyway plagues design is so unique making unique cosmetics is kinda hard
The biggest issue is the fact that every single skin they've made for her features her as a priestess of some kind. There's literally no diversity, meanwhile other killers like Trapper and Wraith get to explore many different roles and themes with each new release. This is simply lazy from BHVR, there's no other way of saying it.
-
I think people shouldn't be too focused on the lore of these characters since these stories only describe their previous life, the Entity's realm however is an entirely different can of worms. Who knows how long they've been in there, people can change over time. That also goes for their sexuality and various other likes and dislikes.
-
There's one more thing I actually remembered, that being the issue of censorship in certain countries where homosexuality/queerness is actually banned. Prime examples would be Russia, China and any muslim country out there. This type of censorship has already affected other characters from different games such as Tracer from Overwatch and Varus from League of Legends who had their lore either altered or certain parts of it simply omitted.
I think it's very likely that BHVR would do the same thing if they ever released a character that causes controversies like this in other countries.
-
Coté himself stated that every fanfic out there is canon due to multiverse theory being a thing in the Entity's realm. For all we know this could mean there are gay and straight versions of all the killers and survivors out there. This also explains why we can even have duplicate survivors in the various trials.

Or you could simply drink out of one of her several fountains. That water's looking pretty good.

There's basically no drinkable water in the trials. It makes one quite parched.
They obviously haven't played against the Plague then.

He also needs to not lose his laceration meter when hitting the survivor with m1, this idea makes his gameplay less versatile as you are kinda forced to keep up the knives or lose what you already earned by wasting time and knives.
Oh definitely. Nothing causes more frustration than the realization that you could have simply m1'd someone instead of wasting your time on a knife minigame.

"I don't like X, nerf it"
That's the forums in a nutshell.
Not always, there are still those who dislike certain killers being too weak which leads to that someone asking for buffs instead.
-
Trickster definitely needs some more changes to give us any reason to pick him over Huntress or Deathslinger. I just hope the devs don't forget about him just for him to rot away like Blight for half a year until they finally get back to the project.
-
They should get rid of perk tiers, that'd be the first step to reducing the grind since that would also get rid of 66% of the farming. As a compensation they could adjust the cost of those single tier perks (5k-6k for every single one) and then we'll have to see how things are going.
-
Here's the perfect example of what to expect if Piggy had her theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2IYpJQL01M&ab_channel=LukeR -
It takes a special lack of skill to lose this hard against the weakest killer in the game.
-
I don't see how it's balanced in any way for a killer to only achieve 8% of their objective the moment they get their first hook while survivors are almost half-way done with their own one (2 gens -> 40%). Now that is blatantly broken.
-
Still hoping for some follow-up buffs to Trickster to get him into a better spot.

If you manage to actually go down against this terrible killer then he pretty much deserves the kill. Currently it takes him 2-3 gens just do down any competent survivor. Him camping and protecting his prey is sadly the only effective way to play him right now. You might see some changes once he finally gets his 2nd buff.
-
It's pretty crazy how Wraith is far better than Trickster at this point. He's surprisingly effective now after that much needed bug-fix.
