Are you sure you are not just bad at the game? This isn't some epic "lol git gud kid" response, you could genuinely just not be very good at Nemesis or Dead by Daylight in general. Not everything is the fault of a perk or Survivors being too powerful and, no offense, but I doubt you are one to talk about things if you can so casually claim that Corrupt Intervention is garbage because of something as silly as "survivors will literally hide for 2 minutes instead of going to another gen."

I have over 2000 hours on this game, I've reached rank 1 on both roles back on the old rank system. If anything I'm experienced enough to come to the conclusion that no amount of practice can overcome these type of odds set by the survivors of this game. At this point I'm simply resorting to the easiest and most efficient method (that would be camping), anything else only leads to frustration and further waste of emotional energy.

Ah yes, Corrupt Intervention, my favourite perk that relies on hooks.

Corrupt is garbage, survivors will simply hide for 2 minutes while doing bones/applying boons while you're losing out on a perkslot.

"by far the most viable strategy"

Hi have you heard of gen perks? They work substantially better and even do so vs a SWF instead of just clapping solos.

No thanks, I won't rely on perks that get any value out of hooks if it takes half of the game just to get the first survivor on a hook.

  • Whoever said that camping makes you a "bad" killer has to be a survivor main, it's by far the most viable strategy a killer has at his disposal.

    camping gets the job done.png

Sure, it can seem a bit boring and dull but so is the constant genrushing, this is just my take on "killrushing". You want this to stop or change? First nerf survivors then we'll talk.

  • vommy mommy Adiris.png

I still don't understand why THIS isn't a skin for her yet.

  • And this is what happens if you embrace the camper mindset. Now THAT's what I call efficiency. Even did this on Gideon Meat Plant.

    camping works.png

Anyone wanna tell me why killers shouldn't do this every game? Why should any of us willingly participate in the broken survivor meta if we can dictate the pace by standing our ground and forcing survivors to come to us instead so that we may get them to play by our rules instead?

  • Literally every single match on Nemesis is a genrush fiesta, it's gotten so bad that I need to bring Brutal Strength to get any value out of breaking pallets and doors since it's so hard & detrimental to focus on gathering infection stacks on him. This match was on Badham and it took me 3-4 gens just to get my first down, it's completely absurd how survivor sided this game is.

    not playable.png

  • They need to start exploring other themes for her besides the boring and way overdone priestess theme. Literally every skin released for her so far focuses on that aspect without trying to go beyond the boundaries of the character. Meanwhile the classic killers (Trapper, Wraith, Billy) constantly get skins which explore new themes for these characters and even try modern settings for them.

Just give us Adiris in some modern or casual outfit already.

If you can, please post a link to video of your average suffering match. I'm sure plenty of people here could give you some tips. I would surely watch it and would try to help you as much as I can.

I don't think my rig could deal with that very well, the game has become very hard to play for me from a technical point of view since my rig is quite outdated. All I got is a graphics card with 2 GB VRAM, meanwhile you need twice as much just to play games nowadays. And I can't even upgrade since my mainboard is a DDR3 one. I do have ample of regular RAM, though, (16 GB) but that doesn't really make a difference.

The consequence are several stutters and freezes which seriously hinder my ability to keep up with survivors. My framerate caps out at 30 pretty much, most of the time it's below that. I already tried all the tricks with lowering the graphic settings and going as far to diddle around with the config file itself but it didn't help. The constant visual updates are making the game almost unplayable for me.

  • Meanwhile 75% of my killermatches are wins for the survivors and plain suffering on my end. The system is definitely broken, I'm far off from this 50-50 balance they're aiming for.

  • The only impression I've received so far from this talk about SWF and their powerlevel is that the devs want to buff solo survivors to be on a more equal footing with these premade groups, there isn't a single mention of killer buffs however. All of these balance decisions are made with the success of survivor players in mind, not even once did you show the willingness to consider what killers have to go through on a regular basis within the environment you've created. It's beyond me what kind of data you still want to gather if it's blatantly obvious how broken Circle of Healing is at this point. You need to act immediately, any further delays on this matter will only make it worse.

  • Do not forget:

    1) He's still the posterchild for horror themed NFTs.

    2) He remains a worse Clown with no chase potential and a global gimmick that hardly lasts a couple of seconds.

  • @AnObserver said:

Dumbass. It's operation Health. The ######### that goes unnoticed by most people because it's not big and flashy. I have no idea why they didn't lead with this.

Nothing about this patch is healthy to the overall balance of the game as long as CoH is allowed to exist in its current state.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

Hour of the witch DLC is still selling

Why would any sane person waste auric cells/actual money on their original chapters, though? I only use shards for that.

  • The PTB notes are just rubbing salt into the wound at this point. No real compensation to killers like Nemesis and Clown for getting some of their best addons nerfed, meanwhile Circle of Healing remains completely untouched. This is absolutely insane.

  • This perk will remain worthless as long as Dead Hard exists. Doesn't matter how long your lunge is if the survivor can see your attack coming even earlier.

  • It's ridiculous to call Bubba a racist just for wearing Claudette's face. He's an insane cannibal, he doesn't care about the skincolor of his victims. All he cares about is the chili he can make with their flesh and the bones he can use to create various furniture with. If anything it shows how inclusive he is in what he does, NOT having Claudette as a facemask in there would be the real racist move.

  • What did I tell you? Not a single nerf to boons/CoH, not even to Dead Hard. This is an absolute clownshow. I also don't get why the heck they had to nerf some of Nemesis' best addons, he's already pretty weak considering how he gives survivors a third health state.

  • Both aspects of DH make it a pain in the ass to deal with. The result is still the same, though: the survivor gets to extend the loop. The least BHVR should do is add a handicap to using it, like disabling the ability to interact with the environment (vaults & pallets) for 3 seconds after using DH.

  • You're in luck, I've become a full-time Pyramid Head main since the CoH meta took over. If I find you I'll make sure to tunnel and proxycamp you to the fullest extent, that should curb your desires.

  • I won't bother with playing normally anymore, as long as survivors get to abuse bs like Dead Hard and Circle of Healing I won't stop tunneling and proxycamping people as Pyramid Head. The meta has become extremely hostile towards killers and this is just my way of coping with this. I can't even imagine playing any other killer right now, the ability to completely deny DS is too good.

  • She's a far worse Pyramid Head. Very strict cooldowns on her power and an additional handicap which restricts her from using her crows close to hooks. It takes too much work to deal damage with her abillity, survivors also tend to simply leave loops against her while your crow setup ends up getting wasted.

  • The game is quite literally unplayable for killers, there are bully squads harassing killers everywhere and even solo survivors are smart enough to bring meta perks into every single match which makes the experience equally unbearable.

    bully squad.png

At this point there need to be drastic changes to the current gameplay formula, the game blatantly favors survivors and even promotes their toxicity in the bullymode known as SWF.

The amount of required hooks for a successful sacrifice should be lowered to 2, gens get done way too quickly anyway and any chase will last over a minute. The alternative would be to give killers the ability to instadown once bloodlust activates, that should at least cut down some of the time spent on chasing them. Also the bp gain should be doubled for killers, it's the only solace they have from playing a severely underpowered role.

It's easy to tell when you are spectating other survivors, because they are looking into a ground from your POV.

It's also not nice to get revealed over wall as Ghostface...

I don't think it should be that hard to fix, just make it that extra space is filled with black border instead of actually changing what survivor / killer can see...

And I already was wondering why so many people were simply staring at the goddamn floor while I was spectating them. Turns out they're all filthy cheaters, wow.

  • @jesterkind said:

Number one is all that's necessary- I'd personally move towards capping self-healing through any means, since I don't think you should be able to stack stuff onto yourself, but anything that just lowers how much insane time-saving value survivors can get from it would be ideal.

The second idea is a bad one because that's not a nerf to Circle of Healing, that's a nerf to boons- it'd be like if old Undying got "nerfed" by reducing the number of totems in a trial no matter what, as opposed to changing the effect itself.

The third idea branches on from that- I don't see why CoH should work differently to the other two in that regard, consistency in the mechanic is a good thing to build.

Idea number three would require that ALL boon perks would be limited to a single use, that's what I'm suggesting. It would also deter people from stacking their effects.

  • @dallasmedicbag said:

lol no, the most distant has got to be Valve

Valve aren't even a game developer anymore, all they do is sell games on their platform. Half Life Alyx was just a pleasant surprise which I can't play anyway since I lack the money to purchase these expensive VR sets along with a computer that could even support all of that.

  • I'm sorry to say but your experience won't change even after one or two thousand hours. Survivors dictate the flow of the game, they're the ones representing the power role in this game and the killer is only there to offer entertainment or, at worst, to mildly discomfort them. Anyone who initially bought this game expected to encounter some horror elements, instead they were greeted with a Scooby Doo simulator.

  • @BenZ0 said:

Ye I wish they would add also ugly sweaters to killers.

Imagine a Trapper with a sweater xD

The Legion actually have sweaters of their own so why not give them to other killers?

  • @starkiller1286 said:

Sounds like you need a break. I just started playing again yesterday from stopping early this year (I think idk it was before boons were a thing. After the twins dropped.)

Sure I ran into a few try hard teams but I didn't let them kill my good time. Maybe some time away now will let you have fun later.

Taking a break doesn't work, the core issues still remain once you return. It doesn't matter how many days pass between my sessions, I'm equally frustrated and livid after just playing a single match. The constant abuse of second chance perks and the complete removal of killer pressure by a perk like CoH truly removes any actual fun the killer could extract from the game. Games are supposed to help you relax and to make you experience fun, playing DbD meanwhile feels like an actual job. And the worst thing is: you don't get paid for it.

  • Grim Embrace needs to have its duration increased to 60 seconds or else I'm not picking it. The requirement to hook 4 different survivors is already quite steep, especially in the current CoH meta where you get heavily punished for not tunneling survivors.

  • It's the only viable way to play killer nowadays, heck I'll even bring NOED every single game since there is no way I can prevent all gens from getting done if the survivors aren't just plain trolling. As long as the game remains extremely survivor sided (I'm looking at you, Circle of Healing) there's literally no point in spreading damage if survivors can heal up right away, and all it takes is a single person bringing that perk. It gets far worse once everyone has it.

Either nerf survivors or prepare for more tunneling and camping. You only have to blame yourself for ruining the game.

  • I've been using Penance on all my killers to give survivors the broken state for 80 seconds. That should at least prevent them from immediately healing up.

  • You have survivors who get into snowmen? Funny, all I get are iridescent rank genrushers who don't even bother interacting with the killer.

  • Rift fragments are absolutely worthless to me since I've already reached tier 70 ages ago. This was one of the easiest tomes to complete ever.

  • The performance of the game has taken a serious dip for me since the Artist came out. I don't know what they did but I get constant freezes throughout my matches now which last up to 3 seconds which can be absolutely fatal for gameplay. It's truly gamebreaking.

  • Okay, I think I've figured out what's causing this. I've noticed how the game kept crashing before I even was able to watch the new opening cinematic so I went into the gamefolder and simply deleted the moviefile. Now the game can start up without any issues. Just how the heck can such a thing break the game?

  • I had to endure another ddos attack last night just for playing killer. The moment I loaded into the match my framerate was reduced to a single digit level and my gameplay kept freezing every so often for multiple seconds. It was absolutely appalling and quite literally unplayable.

These devs literally won't even care for the safety of your user information or your internet connection in general. All it took was 3 matches to make me lose my motivation for that day immediately, too.

  • I'm baffled how BHVR keeps ignoring the plight of killer players, especially after checking out the latest patchnotes. Still no nerfs whatsoever to boon totems (in particular Circle of Healing), this has to be a bad joke. Genrushing is also worse than ever, I literally can't get a single game that lasts 10 minutes under these circumstances.

  • I took a 3 day break just to be greeted with another godawful experience in an attempt to gather some bp for the new killer release.

    unplayable.png

The game is unwinnable, the survivors already had 3 gens completed after I hooked my first victim. I couldn't even get more than 2 BBQ stacks throughout the match, how the hell do you expect anyone to get something out of this godawful event?

When will I actually get survivors who don't abuse the map or their perks? Will killers ever get to have fun in this game?

  • ormond suffering.png

This is what happens if you try to bring a "meta" perk like Pop Goes to a match. Gens get done before you even get the chance to use the perk; either chases take too long or survivors are blatantly rushing these things as a duo/trio. It's already bad enough that 2 gens tend to light up before you even complete your first hooking animation. NOED is the only viable option at this point.

Anyway, I'm not going to waste the rest of my night on this horrendous game. The addtional bp are NOT worth the abuse you receive as a killer, it's an insult to even believe this kind of bribery could overshadow the inherent and severe issues this game has.

  • There's a bloodharvest event going on and I don't even feel like playing. BHVR should seriously do something about these issues, I can't be arsed to play this broken mess anymore.

  • @solidhex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/295708/the-game-has-become-unplayable-for-killers

i agree with some points but cmon Nemesis is not a weak killer. Yes he has to build up his power but once he has survivors have literally no ressources left if you're good with his ranged attack. It's a free hit at every vault or pallet if you don't mess up. He is not the strongest of all killers but there are some that have it far worse than him. I see him performing good mostly when i play survivor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2651631#Comment_2651631

But have you made stats? Is it really the majority? I think with MMR being in place killers have to accept you will only win 50% of your games. Most killers i know won much more before MMR, losing was an exception for me honestly.

You get 50% winrates? Lucky you. Mine's at 20% at best.

  • @IamFran said:

I'm surprised you mentioned several things and you didn't mentioned the worst: PALLET PARADISE, not only the total amount, also the amount of safe pallets.

Before the rework that map was a bit killer sided, but for balancing it a bit, instead of some creative ideas like more mindgamable Jungle Gym rooms like the one in the 1st floor or an "indoor shack" they just threw a bunch of pallets, PreTTy GooD JoB So FaR.

Well I'd say my 6th point about survivor sided maps should cover that. There are definitely far too many pallets, more than enough to actually get all gens done even if you dropped them all without bothering to loop. That's how many there are.

Yes but he still shouldn’t be given a down because I looped him well

You haven't been in the boots of a killer then. If someone dedicates this much time to downing you then have at least the decency to accept your fate. He's going to lose anyway, just give him the 1K.

  • @Phasmamain said:

So if a killer injured me with sloppy and chases me for the time it takes me to get downed from haemorrhage that’s fair? That’s just old legion all over again

If a chase lasts that long then chances are the killer has lost the game anyway due to your team rushing gens meanwhile.

  • @KateDunson said:

You are not supposed to win every single game, just go in a game and have fun

The moment you give up caring is the same moment you give up on the game. Surrender is not an option.

The problem is how these type of games make up the vast majority of matches, this can't be normal at all. There need to be drastic changes or else this game will get murdered by the survivor community.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

If they were better or as good as Clown bottles then why would you ever play Clown over the guy that's clown+several extras?

Because Clown doesn't require the same amount of skill for aiming and throwing his bottles.
