  • Sorry but there's no point in playing a killer who requires the same skill level as a Nurse just to apply a slow that's worse than the effect of a Clown bottle. He needs serious buffs to his possessed chains; either make engineer's fang basekit on him or make the slowdown so severe that a hit is guaranteed for him after chaining a survivor.

  • Look at this bs and tell me this is fine:

    unplayable.png

I only was able to get 2 hooks throughout the whole match on the Cornfields map, that's how broken the current state of the game is. When I finally downed someone during lategame I put them into the basement and what do they do? They insult me for doing the only possible thing at that point. Even going as far to tell me to go play Fortnite after abusing their broken perks and boon totems.

The game is literally unplayable for killers like Nemesis, it takes a miracle to even reach tier 3 on him without farming zombies nonstop. Power role? More like victim role.

  • They first need to get rid of the j-flick on him before considering any buffs for him. With increased turn controls he loses any counterplay and can down anyone during his rush, no matter which corners they take.

  • Killer as a role is currently unplayable if you don't play a handful of killers with certain perks, that's how awful the current state of the game is. Nonstop genrush, constant Dead Hard & Boon Totem abuse, bad map designs, awful matchmaking & severe bullying as well as lack of reflection from the devs are to blame for this.

I think Killer isn't worth playing except archive challenges now.

Don't mind Boons but can't handle 1,3,5 in current state.

I am only playing the game for the missions right now and I gotta say, page 3 of the tome is the most survivor sided mess I've seen. Hardly any killer missions and the only one I can do right now requires me to get 10 iridescent emblems on any killer. It's borderline impossible given the current conditions.

At least powerful enough that survivors will lose if they dont work together. People have this opinion that if the killer downs you, he's op. He's not. If you lead him on a good chase that your team did gens you came out on top. But people only see from their perspective. They see they got caught and claim "killer op, not fun, plz nerf"

Survivors need to realize that there isn't a single decent horror movie out there where all of the survivors make it out alive; otherwise it'd be a comedy. If a survivor gets caught out, they're supposed to go down. It's just a matter of *when*.

  • Almo doesn't even play DbD anymore, all he does is play Rocket League on twitch with a handful of friends while limiting his chat to verified users only.

  • I suggest using Nemesis and his green addon which turns him undetectable after killing a zombie while having the perk equipped. That's how I managed to get the mission done, maybe that'll do it for you?

  • I can now say with great certainty that this issue is a lasting one. I just had the misfortune of being sent to the same map and it was pitchblack like last match. I won't put up with this any longer, I will simply dc and I expect you to compensate me for this loss of time once the queue lockout timer gets too big.

  • Dead Hard should disable the survivor's ability to interact with the environment (no vaults, no pallet drops, no gentapping) for 3 seconds after dashing, that way it would become somewhat balanced and survivors wouldn't exploit it to extend loops with after already making a mistake.

The problem with that is voice actors. DBD is a 5 year old game, a lot can happen in 5 years. VA's can die, get too old to reprise the same voice, lose the ability to voice that character, etc etc. Plus they cost a ######### ton of money. Adding a ton of new sounds is a very lengthy and taxing process, especially to older characters since they are the most likely to have VA's that cannot be brought back. And considering we've grown so accustomed to many of these voices, it would be a crime to attempt to replace them with anybody but their original VA's.

I'm pretty sure that they use the same handful of people among the staff to do the voice acting, especially for the killers. So as long as they're still part of the team there shouldn't be any issues with getting them to record some more stuff for the game.

  • Nemesis is just a shell of his former self in DbD, not only did they shrink him down (he used to be 3 meters tall in RE3 remake) he also was nerfed into the ground in terms of abilities. For instance, how the hell are survivors even able to wiggle free when he carries them? This is the same guy who could easily crush your skull in his palm. He's also WAY too slow, the Nemesis in the remake literally can cut off your escape attempt by either jumping in front of you or by sprinting at an ungodly speed. It's also beyond me how he can even be stunned by trivial nonsense like wooden pallets while breaking through bricked walls in his game.

Not to speak on the matchmaking, cause that's always hit and miss for me, but my matchmaking times haven't changed - I'm in the UK, and when I play after around 7pm, I get instant killer queues...

I usually get supershort queues during night time, sadly that also happens to be the favorite time for all those SWF squads. So it's pretty much a lose-lose for me.

  • I've played for 3-4 hours today and around 80% of those matches were hilariously onesided in favor of the survivors. I can't take this constant abuse anymore, there need to be changes immediately. The game is too survivor sided in its current state, the current matchmaking merely cemented this.

  • Pinhead is borderline unplayable without Hoarder and I haven't been able to get it even once on my bloodweb so far. So yeah, he plays like utter trash. He needs serious buffs to his gameplay, making him rely entirely on a single perk cannot be healthy at all. His chase potential is terrible (chains don't slow down enough, survivors still can interact with their environment, he has to stand still, etc.) and the reward for hitting his power is absolutely not worth the effort. You might as well pick up Nurse who requires the same amount of skill but will at least reward you with actual damage done to survivors.

  • He plays terribly, he feels like a worse Clown during chases. His chains don't do enough to warrant using them. They can't even prevent survivors from vaulting or using pallets nor do they actually work if you try to hit them during the vaulting animation - the hook will simply fly through them. What's even worse is how his ability doesn't even deal damage. He requires as much precision as a Nurse but gets so much less in return for actually hitting his stuff. He desperately needs better hitboxes and more buffs to his chains. Increase the slowdowns and/or force survivors to spend far more time on breaking free so that he can actually secure a hit.

  • Well, how about a mechanic then which makes the Entity expel survivors who are hiding in lockers once they have crows circling above them? I'm sure that would solve the issue without affecting genuine counterplay. If it's just the last survivor hiding in there out of sheer spite then that's fine, might as well give Mikey his final mori.

  • I'd take anything otz says with a grain of salt, after all he's the same guy who still defended BHVR during the worst times when it was abundantly clear that they couldn't care less about the most pressing issues.

  • The Entity gives the killers just enough power to do whatever is necessary (that also includes weaknesses), that's why they almost all play the same. This explains why someone like Nemesis can even be pallet-stunned or why some teens like Legion can carry around fully grown men on their shoulder.

Survivors used to abuse running perks back in the days (e.g. Sprint Burst + Balanced Landing with non-shared cooldown). This was utterly broken and unfair for killers. The consequence was the introduction of exhaustion mechanics few months later to kill this kind of build.

Nowadays, killers are abusing the gen slowdowns with absurd stack of perks (e.g. Ruin+Undying+Pop) in public matches, even against bunches of 4 solo players. At this point, this is an autopilot victory.

Besides, this current situation prevents the buff of alternative slowdown perks such as Surge (too weak, not consistent at the moment).

I do feel that Devs are aware of this critical issue and will implement something similar to prevent these utterly broken builds in the next months.

There are lots of ways to do it: point-based builds, perk-class restrictions, ... but something will be done, just praise in the meantime :)

I wish they'd buff other killer perks to give killers more reason to choose alternative perks. Surge for instance is one of the worst anti-gen perks in the game due to its unreasonable cooldown (meanwhile Pop has none of that) and the fact that survivors usually will lead you to areas where no gens are being worked on. I can count the number of instances where I got off Surge's effect on a SINGLE hand after all this time.

  • I finally did it at the cost of terribly losing the game. These yellow bottles are truly a waste of time and I sincerely hope I'll never have to use them again. The Clown needs another rework, that much is sure.

Then you should've just made that the title of your thread

It takes close to a miracle to pull off this kind of trick four times in a single trial. So it's pretty much impossible without survivors either going afk or farming with you.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396349#Comment_2396349

What, you want a 100% foolproof way to do this? Keep dreaming

I told you the way to do it. You do that until it works.

All this shows is how extremely inefficient yellow bottles are compared to regular purple ones which work immediately and are far more practical to use. Yellow bottles are borderline unusable in their current state and require extreme foresight AND survivor incompetence to get their effect off in a meaningful way.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Just throw a bottle at a survivor and it'll be yellow by the time you get there, then stab em up

That's not going to work due to 2 likely outcomes:

    1. The survivor is too close for you to get off the timing of the gas activation, you'll only score a regular hit.
    2. The survivor has taken a whole different path after you've forced yourself to walk into your own gas-cloud while struggling to catch up just for the effect wear off.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2391636#Comment_2391636

Exactly. I don’t know how so many don’t get this. If they activate straight away, the survivor gets the benefit. The way they act currently no survivor in their right mind will be stupid enough to hang around to wait for the activation unless they want to be hit by Clown.

And why should the Clown ever throw such a bottle at the survivor(s) if he could simply throw it as his own feet if the effects were immediate? There's no reason NOT to make them work instantly.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Yes, this occurs when someone DCs at the very beginning of the match before the zombies spawn. When that happens, the zombies never spawn. I have two videos of this happening and meant to post them but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Well that's good to know. I also received error-code 402 at the end of that match.

not playing the game is the ultimate counter

I haven't played DbD since 12 days and I already feel much better.

  • @Crowman said:

Killers playing the game is such a huge issue. It's very clear dedicated survivor mains just want bots to bully.

Bots won't generate the desired salt, though.I guess BHVR needs to write a chat-script for angry bots - preferably for both roles.

  • How can you enjoy playing this guy in his bugged state? His power remains disabled until you m1 again.

  • 18 days later and I've received the same ritual with no change whatsoever.

I've got the feeling that BHVR doesn't even listen, this daily mission is objectively terrible and completely imbalanced compared to ALL other dailies in the game. So why won't they finally change it into the suggestion that was made?

    @Zokenay

Luckily I have a friend who is a huge RE fan and already claimed a spot to play with me then. 😁

Is this the only RE game with Co-op?

There's also RE6, another game with complete co-op support for its four campaigns. But as you can certainly imagine the reputation of that game is especially bad among the community. If I had to choose one good thing about it I'd say Leon's campaign.

  • Licensed chapters are the only reason why I even got into the game and it will continue to be my sole motivator for playing the game.

  • Oh, also one more thing: he'll still have his awful 40m lullaby terror radius like Huntress despite being significantly worse than her. If he can't even sneak up to people just because his tune is audible so much sooner it'll rob him of his only opportunity to get some early hits in. Now he'll be absolutely forced to loop every single survivors he comes across.

  • This semi-rework still won't address his most glaring issue: his inability to deal with walls and strong loops. The increased laceration decay will punish him even harder while his lowered knifecount will make him excel at what he already does well: downing people in the open.

Any skilled survivor will still make him waste so much time that he might as well resort to camping hooks the moment he finally downs someone. I urge the developers to consider following changes to him:

    • Give him bouncy blades as his basekit
    • Remove laceration decay, survivors should mend instead
    • Main Event should be storable indefinitely
  • He desperately needs the following changes to become somewhat viable:

    • Bouncy blades as basekit (he's called the TRICKSTER after all, where are the tricks?)
    • Remove laceration decay, force survivors to pull out the knives via mending instead
    • Allow Trickster to store his Main Event indefinitely (!)

Simply lowering the number of needed knifehits still won't make him playable if survivors keep hugging walls and waste his time on strong loops. He already excels at downing people in deadzones, this upcoming change merely cements that but it won't address his glaring weaknesses whatsoever.

The point of a rework should be to fix the most egregious issues, not to highlight them even more.

  • I once played with tru3ta1ent and it was a pretty normal match with the sole difference that he was doing a perk challenge of sorts. But yeah, solid game, 3 gens done before we all got slugged and sacrificed by some Oni.

  • Okay, now THIS is hella relevant, BHVR needs to address this:

    https://twitter.com/edgy2000scheryl/status/1409951067106906114

As you can see there's absolutely NOTHING preventing BHVR from removing these restrictions from Cheryl's cosmetics. So why are there still linked sets? The least you can do is free her non-legendary cosmetics so that we can freely combine her goth hair with the other stuff she has.

PLEASE give me my goth girl Cheryl back.

  • Words are cheap, what matters are actions. And so far BHVR has very little to show.

  • What an absolute joke, as if the weakest killer in the game needed any more handicaps. The blatant incompetence from the balanceteam is truly something to behold.

  • I've stopped trying to get him buffed, the devs clearly don't give a damn about him. It's obvious that he'll be just another killer condemned to be forgotten and only talked about whenever a new cosmetic is released. I guess all we can do is wait for his rework in 2-3 years.

  • It's beyond me how Dead Dawg Saloon could be considered killer sided at all. There are far too many doors which take up too much time to break and the saloon & gallow gens are extremely safe and impossible to contest as a killer.

  • It has become very easy to hit tier 70, I've done it few days ago already.

I just think that everyone can make it if they've been playing since the first couple of weeks of the new tome release at least.

  • I can now confirm that playing survivor is enough to reset your killer cosmetics in case you managed to break their set(s). RIP my Look-See Doctor.

  • The bugged set still loads into the game, though? It only resets after the match, correct? So I'd be forced to repeat the glitch every time and then queue up with a dummy just to switch to her before the timer ends.

  • Just managed to do the storeglitch on 5.0.1 like Karu said, I've yet to break more than one piece of a set however.

Goth Girl Cheryl has been restored for now.

  • Trickster is garbage and will remain garbage until he sees an actual rework.

  • Aaaand just had the game crash on me during the fourth Nemesis game, now I need to play him a fifth time.

    crash.png

The average value of each game would be at 6k bloodpoints by then, that's some pretty weak compensation for a daily ritual.

  • @MadLordJack said:

If you're on Steam and have a compatable card, you can force the game to use directx 12 by adding the "/dx12" command line to its general launch settings in Steam, which massively improves performance.

It's not a proper solution, but it fixed my performance issues. If you're on console, continue to hate on the Devs. There's nothing I can do for you.

I have dx12 installed on my machine and yet DbD won't even start when I try to use the -dx12 command line. It's probably due to my computer being too weak, I heard you need at least 6 cores in your CPU to even use it without breaking your stuff.
