Dead By Daylight has become quite literally unplayable

Whenever I try to start up the game I get this screen:

I've already tried verifying/validating my files via Steam but it hasn't done much for me. Am I the only one who has experienced this drastic increase in crashes since the new patch went live?

It took me 3 attempts on average before to get past this crash-screen but now it's there permanently.

    Okay, I think I've figured out what's causing this. I've noticed how the game kept crashing before I even was able to watch the new opening cinematic so I went into the gamefolder and simply deleted the moviefile. Now the game can start up without any issues. Just how the heck can such a thing break the game?
