It's countries like this that prove why we need LGBTQ+ representation
Just because games, tv-shows and other forms of media include these type of characters won't change the law of these countries though. It'll only pander to those who already accepted that part of culture so I really don't see how this will help them in these regions of the world.

Same way they are now treating those that only target non-white chars, or only female/male chars or tunneling based on names (e.g. tunneling everyone having anything LGBTQ+ related to their name).
I imagine it's pretty hard to prove intent, though. It could be mere coincidence that a killer happens to take out a pair of colored or female/male survivors just because they happened to go down easier than others.

Representation isn't an objectivity must have thing for all LGBT people. It comes down to the individual person whether they care if there's LGBT in the game or not. If a gay person wants a gay character in the game that's fine, but not every gay person wants or needs a gay character. I don't need representation but if I get it I'm not gonna complain, unless bhvr does a bad job.
There's also the risk of people getting trolled/tunneled/bullied ingame for picking these type of characters. How would BHVR deal with this type of backlash? Would they ban people who did this kind of thing without necessarily voicing it?
-
I'd really like to know how BHVR would deal with countries that have anti-homosexuality laws like Russia, the Arab Emirates, China and so on. Would they rewrite/censor the character on release for these regions? Or would they flatout not release them?

The chase theme is supposed to sound like modified screams of his victims. He recorded his victim's screams, put some instruments between it and added them into his Magnum Opus.
The sounds in his chase theme are screams so it does make sense with his lore and I personally find him now a lot more terrifying after reading the lore, because his chase theme makes so much sense and is so distorted and disturbing.
It might fit into his lore but it's still not proper music, he'd need to have some beat in the back at least. I can't imagine spending countless hours playing this guy with that screaming going on everytime I get into a chase, now that'd be just plain annoying.

We need a legendary skin for her which turns her into a more healthy form, that should easily multiply her current playerbase by ten.
-
Yoshikage Kira would be the perfect anime killer for DbD. He'd simply have the specter of his stand (Killer Queen) at his side to perform various actions like breaking gens/pallets and hitting survivors.
A part of his power (or one of his perks) could maybe even trap gens with explosives but I guess that'd be just Overcharge all over again. He also can rewind time so imagine him forcing survivors to repair the final gen all over again, maybe setting the progress back to 50-70%.
His mori obviously would feature him blowing up a survivor and collecting their hand.

Plague needs so much love. It's been two years and all they've done is give her a fountain at the start. Ridiculous. You could sell me on a rework, although I think changing her Corrupt Purge to a token system takes care of a lot of her issues.
There are many interesting ways to go about this, for instance they could give her unique addons which change the way her sickness affects survivors. They could receive different negative effects while the broken state could be unique to a certain addon. That way she still can force survivors to waste time on healing. Fountains also shouldn't instaheal anymore, they'd only serve to get rid of the negative effects and the ongoing puking.
The simplest fix would be to enable her to suck dry fountains from a distance like with Freddy channeling his tp to a gen, in that case she'd aim for a fountain to receive its benefits. Actionspeed (in that case repairspeed) could and should be affected by sickness as well.
Another important aspect of her is her visibility to survivors. Not only if she very tall, she also constantly leaves a smoketrail behind her which makes it even easier to spot her. The least they could do is reduce her terror radius to 24m to make up for this.
-
Another thing that keeps ticking me off is how BHVR never ever brings up her name during Q&As, no matter how often her mains ask them about her. It's beyond me how such a weak and underperforming killer cannot be on their rework schedule, and yet this is the case.

She's one of the least(or the least?) popular Killers. She doesn't make them much money so they don't make her a lot of skins. Like Adam Francis.
I think she deserves more but 🤷♀️
That's exactly why she should receive a rework, I see no other way of boosting her fun-value and popularity. Otherwise she'll be doomed to stay a forgotten killer and we really wouldn't want that for the vommy mommy.

I managed to get this yesterday so it did proc for me - I got it on a Coldwind map, I think I made the requirements on an Autohaven Map but couldn't be certain. What I did find was vaulting through the same window in a chase didn't count - I'm presuming that part is intentional.
Well that might be the reason. It's just weird how this was never specified within the mission text itself. I managed to finally get the mission done by vaulting through 10 different windows at Lery's against a Hag who also proceeded to camp me to death from the salt I gave her.

The tournament has been pretty bad so far. The killers only seem to camp, no kidding.

Even completing half the rift is worth the 1000 auric calls in comparison to just buying the cosmetics. Also the longer challenges to take stops the idea you're just playing for fragments but this you'll like ITS RUMOURED that the next time will have 5 LEVELS and FRAGMENTS WILL REQUIRE 400-600EXP instead of 800.... that's reduce the ground and make the rift easy as hell. For the most part though play 2 hours a day, at least 1 killer and 1 survivor during that 2 hours you'll do the rift easy providing you do the challenges
You might need 2 hours of gameplay to gather enough daily exp but you'd still need 4 hours just to make that happen since queue times and other things outside of the metagame itself do occur.

About 3-6 games I'd say, most people dont actually get the totems. Besides it's not that far out there as some challenges physically take 4 odd more games. A great example is the red glyph which is 5 games minimum.... BUT you dont have to rush challenges, if you're trying to just grind the challenges instead of playing the game mostly normally and seeing the challenges as secondary then that's why it's a grind. Sure use a map, or a perk but you dont just need to focus on totems, you have this level for 2weeks odd
Even doing all missions won't give enough fragments to get close to lv70, you'd still need to grind enough exp worthy of an entire dedication level just to reach that point. That's simply obscene.
-
I'd say his biggest weakness has to be his extreme obsession with certain people. The movie version probably would be the most obsessed with tunneling, so you probably could set up traps for him while he focuses one person.

I had a Jeff once who hopped in locker leaving his jacket, pants and facial hair outside

I fear there's nothing that can be done, this is why most killers want a way to detect SWF/premade groups just so they can dodge those lobbies. These sweat squads can be completely ruthless and are the biggest issue this game has in terms of balance and overall fun. All you can do is either go afk or outright dc.

Did he shock you? If so, then you were stunned and couldn’t interact with anything. If he didn’t, then that’s a bug. I’ve been playing Doc since 2017 and he’s never been able to straight up deny an unhook without using his shock. If he has, it’s because of a bug.
No shocks were involved, Doc was on the other side of the map when we tried to unhook that poor Meg.

Amazing thread title, op.
-
Sadly this issue has been around since the introduction of dedicated servers. Don't count on them ever fixing this issue by flipping some switches, the only real solution is to alter the hitboxes of her projectiles to compensate for this.
-
How about buffing everyone else if you want to see different killers getting played?
-
This patch changed absolutely nothing about the insane power SWF/premade-squads have. They still rush gens like they're nothing while killers struggle to keep up. As long as this issue remains unaddressed the game will never be truly balanced.
-
Haddonfield definitely feels terrible to play on but right now The Game (Gideon Meat Plant) is objectively the worst map in all of DbD. People counted around 30 pallets on that map alone with half of them being god-pallets, that is absolutely disgusting.
-
Could you please take your Freddy debate to another thread? This one is only dedicated to the Clown, and yet you keep bringing up that dream demon. I'm interested in seeing changes for the Clown, one of the worst killers in the game. Freddy meanwhile is doing fine enough as he is.
-
How come the majority of posts in here are about Freddy instead of Clown?
-
Plague. Lowest killrate in the game right next to Nurse who arguably is handicapped by a high skillfloor.
-
I literally thought about it yesterday so I went to check my cosmetic inventory on Claudette, expecting to have unlocked it from any of the previous tomes. Then I realized they completely forgot about it.
-
It's beyond me why she isn't even on the rework schedule if she's the next killer to be featured on the next tome according to dataminers. Do they expect us to do her missions while she still struggles with the servers which make her miss her puke all the time? Beyond that she lacks any map pressure and has annoying slowdowns which make it feel super-awkward to use your power. Survivors still pop gens right and left, no matter what she does. There are so many things that could and should be done to improve her overall gameplay.
Get rid of the slowdowns from channeling and using your power. Improve her hitboxes to compensate for the server issues. Give her GOOD addons that actually alter her gameplay in meaningful way, like giving her sickness new effects/handicaps. And finally, reduce action-speed for infected survivors to combat genrushing.
Also new skin when? She hasn't seen a new original one since an entire year so far (February 2020 was the last one).
-
The rework definitely missed its mark, Clown's gameplay hasn't changed at all. If you try to use your yellow bottles, you need to throw them really far ahead of you just to get the timing right for their activation - sadly survivors can immediately run into the yellow gas to get a speedbuff. So there's no point in using these bottles at all. You're still a D-tier killer with a slightly lowered recharge time for your bottles. He plays absolutely godawful on pallet heavy maps like The Game.

The Entity debuffs their strength so that they can get stunned by a pallet and reprograms them to either just kill anyone running around or make it so that Dwight has turned into a STAAAAAAAARRRRRRRSSSSSSSsssssssssss member. Dwight's elite locker hiding skills make for an excellent addition to the STARS program and we look forward to him serving with this elite group of cops.
Critically thought and analyzed complete. Mr X and Nemesis are now good to go and can be added to the game at BHVRs leisure.
All it takes is to add Leon and Claire or any of the STARS members as survivors and the bioweapons would have no other choice but to kill the other survivors as well since they'd be potential witnesses.
-
There's one thing you should consider: there are FAR more survivors than killers in this game. Survivors already wait up to 10 minutes to find ONE killer, some survivors suddenly quitting the game wouldn't change a thing for killer-players.
-
Mr. X would be definitely better as a choice, Nemesis is simply too op and also too tall to fit in with the other killers considering how he's at 3 meters size in the remake.
-
Oh man, the latest Q&A stream really did let me down. They had the chance to finally acknowledge Plague's lack of love and yet they didn't even namedrop her when they talked about planned reworks again. It's already bad enough that she doesn't get any new skins anymore, all they keep giving her are recolors locked behind premium passes.
-
The only thing that could make this stream any better would be some Plague related news. She really needs some new cosmetics, her last one came out a flipping year ago (February 2020). Some buffs or a semi-rework would be nice, too.

I had a dream that I walked 20 meters to get my power, started a chase, got vacuumed into a pallet and lost my power that I got 10 seconds ago. Actually that wasn't a dream. Actual Plague gameplay two years after release.
Now consider the amount of time it took you to get that survivor to even cleanse for you to go pick up that power. Let's say you've spent up to a minute on a single survivor just for them to end up cleansing themself, you then pick up your power and lose it shortly after. That alone would result in probably 80-90 seconds wasted on essentially nothing since said survivor is healthy again while you weren't able to gain any hook progress. That's how screwed up this killer is.

Plague will never see a rework because BHVR's management appears to lack any ability to enforce deadlines.
The idea that it takes months to create a new list of Add-Ons for any killer is asinine.
This is what it looks like when a company actually wants to get something done...
Lead Dev: "Canas, I want to see a first draft of an Add-On pass for Huntress, Plague, & Trapper in my Inbox by Wednesday morning, in addition to your other weekly responsibilities. Leachy_Jr, I want the same from you but for Myers, Wraith, and Demo."
Canas & Leachy_Jr: "Will do."
Lead Dev (Wednesday Morning): "Okay team, Canas and Leachy are presenting their Add-On passes today [...] anyone have any questions or concerns about the first draft? Yes? Okay, lets address those by Friday morning. Programmers, do you think you could get these changes into a PTB by next Friday? I'll reach out to our art department--they should be able to mock up some icons by then."
Community: "We like/dislike these changes because of ____"
Lead Dev: "Okay team, our changes were well/poorly received. Lets _____."
That sounds painful, is that really how they do work at BHVR?
I think the biggest issue she has are the inherent slowdowns which are the root of all frustrations related to hitting her abilitiy. Kinda like old Clown who slowed himself down after throwing his bottles, he felt a lot better to play as after the slowdown got removed. They need to do the same for Plague, that alone would make her far more bearable to play as.
-
Demogorgon's biggest issue is the fact that pretty much all of his actions create global feedback for survivors. They can easily tell what he's doing and where he might be which makes genrushing quite easy since you don't need to fear him suddenly popping up behind you.
If they want to make him somewhat better, they need to do 2 things: get rid of the global noise (especially when he travels to another hole) and reduce the noise of his footsteps so that he can properly sneak up to survivors.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
I mean you'd be able to see her coming from a mile away cause she's 8 feet tall but I'd like to see her.
Same issue like Plague with the little difference that she'd most likely be able to look beyond walls with her enormous size. Some say she's 2,44m which would put her above all the other killers in the game since those reach 2m at most. She'd have serious issues with fitting through doorways and vaults, they'd have to add many new animations to compensate for that. I don't think they'd be willing to put this much effort into a new killer.

I faced a red rank Plague tonight who mainly just M1 hit, and rarely used her vomit. It was bizarre.
It's unironically faster to M1 a survivor twice as her instead of wasting your time on the whole infection minigame. That alone shows how disappointing her power is. It also denies survivors the ability to immediately undo your damage via fountains since they can't use them without being infected beforehand. If you combine this playstyle with her red addon (free corrupt purge with each popped gen) you can do some wacky stuff. I did try that a few times before and it did work out but it only shows how dysfunctional the killer herself is.
I think the biggest downside has to be how survivors can fully recover in such a short time while you get a temporary power-up that still requires you to find AND hit someone twice with it while also dealing with dedicated servers/buggy hitboxes/awful slowdowns. And during all of that time survivors are rushing gens, now that's devastating.
-
Definitely in great need of a rework, if only BHVR would finally acknowledge her problems. Dedicated servers made her puke hitbox even more unreliable than it was before, the inherent slowdowns from using your power (like old Clown) make using her vomit very frustrating as well.
She gets genrushed every single game while also getting punished for her own gameplay (extremely low bp income, dropping chases to spread infection, etc.) which makes pipping one of the hardest things in the game. It's no wonder her, Blight and Nurse have the lowest overall killrate in the game which indicates an extremely high skill requirement just to make them work.
In Plague's case however there's also the handicap of being supertall and leaving a smoketrail behind you which can be seen from great distance. The least she deserves is a smaller terror radius. Picking up your vomit from a fountain is rarely worth it due to the amount of time you lose by doing so. And even if you pick up her power, the whispering makes it superhard to hear survivors while they hide from you until your power either runs out or they get in a sneaky pallet stun which reverts ALL of your hard work. This is unacceptable.
-
Adiris is easily the sexiest female killer in the game. If only BHVR would bother giving us some official fanservice for her.
-
Good, your journey to becoming a servant of the entity is almost complete.
-
Finally Plague won't be the least played killer anymore.

I'm not even playing on a regular basis anymore, the only thing that keeps me coming back are the Rift rewards. Outside of that I don't touch the game, during these breaks I spend my time on far better games.

@Mugombo said:
Killers kill on average around 60% of survivors or whatever it was they said.
Survivors kill on average 0% of other players.
Survivors are deffo the power role.
Red rank survivors have a 80% escape rate, that easily beats the 60% killrate for killers.
-
He's probably one of the hardest killers in the game to play as, definitely harder than Nurse. Both rely on keeping track of survivors at all times to properly use and navigate your power, otherwise you lose chases and tons of time. What makes him harder than Nurse is the fact that he has to play a minigame with structures while also robbing himself of vision while doing so since he has to stare at walls. IMO his aura reading addon should be base on him.
-
She has several problems, at this point only a rework can salvage this killer.
- Lowest killrate among with Blight and Nurse (extremely high skill ceiling, very unforgiving to play as).
- Lowest pickrate in the game, constantly forgotten and without any skin-releases since 10 months.
- No map pressure, gets genrushed to hell by survivors who do not cleanse. Being sick SHOULD reduce action speed at least.
- Smoke trail and enormous size give away her position far too easily, a smaller terror radius should be at least base on her.
- Fountains favor survivors due to restoring their health fully, tend to be in locations that are too far way for the Plague. Your effort of infecting someone is immediately undone and you have to start finding people all over again.
- Extremely unreliable hitbox on her projectiles, your vomit particles can touch people and still not infect them. The inherent slowdown from her channeling needs to go, at least it would make it easier for her to hit her torrent of puke. Loops completely shut down your power since survivors can simply hug a wall to avoid your puke.
- Many bad addons which don't even alter her gameplay. She should receive addons which add different downsides to being sick, those could range from aura blindness to even being hindered. Only her red addon which gives her aura-reading is decent.
- Godawful bp-gain and emblem-scoring, struggles with pipping and gets far less compensation for her actions than any other killer in the game. Infecting objects should give at least twice as much bp (50->100). Her playstyle of infecting people and then dropping a chase hurts her chaser emblem while her brutality emblem suffers from merely hitting people once with your censer. Her gatekeeper emblem is equally terrible due to gens popping like crazy against her.
-
Plague is objectively the most forgotten killer in the game. There's a reason why she has the lowest pickrate of them all (2%). She also hasn't had any new original cosmetics since 10 months.
