It's a 1v4 game, 1 Killer vs. the Survivor team, not a 1v1v1v1v1 game
Mmr disagrees with you. Blame hockey, not me.

Hatch not raising/lowering your MMR makes sense, it's a pity escape for losing
Every survivor verses the killer alone mmr-wise. There's no pity involved as the individual survivor has not lost. The other 3 have.
-
There is a hack for that (and many things in general). It's almost impossible to prove it's being used in a match, though.
For that reason, I suggest you don't lose any sleep over it.
-
Yes. And it's not fixed in ptb.
-
Its animation has been a bit buggy. There's also another one where it looks like he's canceled and he whips instead.
Not to mention the bug where he doesn't get stunned if he presses m2 as the pallet goes down.
-
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
BHVR, I had high expectations about you, smh.

But why word it so specifically? Just say wiggle regression removed. It was only removed to work better with the wiggle update.
Either this is an oversight or BHVR wants me to bleed survivors out.
It's not an oversight. The community manager literally confirmed it to you it's working as intended.
If you don't like the written English in the patch notes, that's a different issue.

Where you cloacked when this happened?

Aside from the semantics of toxic, that's a tame build.
You may want to try something more along the lines of ruin, undying, pentimento, hoarder. Throw in haunted, or plaything, at your discretion.

Thanks for clarifying.

being that the tome is about the David this challenge was inevitable, they make you use every single one of Davids perks for challenges, that's how it's always been. just keep playing till you get it, who knows you could get it on your first try maybe
In previous tomes you had to run one specific perk and could use whatever else you wanted, or you needed to use the 3 teachables and the 4th one was free.
Definitely not comparable to what they chose to do in this tome.
And to add insult to injury, in the previous level you only needed to escape one chase while using a uber meta perk as Dead Hard. Here you need to escape while running an actually detrimental perk that puts a giant bullseye on your back.
-
It's not a given. It depends on the way they actually implemented the guaranteed unlock on the 4th try. Depending on the adopted solution, the effective percentages may vary.

I mean the there is a reason why stacks couldn't be gained that way and that is that the cage is designed that way. The killer gets no BBQ stacks or dms or devoure. Nothing related to hooks in any way works with the cage and thats how it's supposed to. I think specially coding that x perk still gets stacks would be to much for bhvr Spagetticode
Wglf is not a hook perk. Unhooks are only one of the ways of gettings stacks and those have nothing to do with hooks already. As I said, it's intended that uncaging doesn't give stacks. But basing that om reasons of 'consistency' is a feeble argument.
-
I wouldn't, if I still were in my right state of mind. And I wouldn't play killer either.
75% kill rate minimum would be the equivalent of turning dbd into a single-player with perma easy setting. And survivors would be but glorified NPCs. Bots are already on their way. No need to use humans for a machine job.
-
It's not a bug. It's intended. But there's also no reason why stacks couldn't be gained that way.

Bamboozle and 3 passive slowdowns. No need to re-invent the wheel. Corrupt, deadlock, ruin, no way out. That kind of stuff. You can sub noed for one of those.
-
I can confirm this bug.
-
@SentinelCaptain said:
Also, having not run it in quite some time, does the killer get a notification about NOED being cleansed if it hasn't been activated yet? I.e. all totems getting cleansed before the exit gates are powered?
They don't. The only thing that comes close is if they're also running Thrill of the Hunt, in which case they will know how many totems are standing.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
How is a bug report confirmation its a bug?
Because the report is marked as acknowledged, which is done dev-side.
-
@GoodBoyKaru is good and evil at the same time.
-
It's not a bug. The regression has been removed somewhat recently. It's documented in the patch notes.
-
We're running out of stuff to complain about, I see.
-
If you only listen to one side, either side, the game dies.
Cough Deathgarden cough.
-
Devs: did you say nerf Pig and buff Blight? Comin' right up!
@Lx_malice said:
What's your point? Slowdowns will also get shafted cause it's all most killer players run nowadays. Thus Nurse (along with everyone else) will be effectively nerfed.
And not to mention...
She's fine.
I think there's a general sense of overestimation of what the upcoming changes will bring. They can't just rework the game balance from the ground up. They probably plan on a lot of small tweaks in a single pass, similar to that patch when McLean left. In the end, a lot of good, but nothing groundbreaking.
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
I read somewhere that, as Nurse, if you hold M1 during the blink itself, you’ll lunge on the first possible frame. Evidently, the first possible frame is before she’s even fully appeared.
You can do the hold m1. It's a somewhat recent change, because Nurse needed a buff, of course.
However, the invisible lunge is a bug that she always had and that seems to have been exacerbated by the re-code pass the devs did on her. Being able to lunge immediately probably just makes the bug visually worse when it occurs.
-
It's only been asked 74378 times over the last 55478 tomes.
Don't worry. It means they'll put it again in the next tome and the 96375 after that one.
-
There's a hack for that and hackers can trigger it on other survivors being carried. If they sounded confused, it's very possible the rando was cheating.
There was also a bug, but it usually involved a dc when being carried. However, I wouldn't rule it out.

For reference Griefing (which includes holding the game hostage by bodyblocking someone to prevent the game from ever ending) is punishable by a temporary ban. Typically the first temporary ban is 24 hours, the second is 48 hours, the third is a week, and the fourth is a permanent ban. If you do something really egregious though they can decided to skip a step or two in that process.
This is great info. Thanks!

I would very much like to see this BHVR banned.
But its unlikely that it would happen. i would put a ban report in game and out of game
I have been stuck in a game for about an hour once (long time ago)
If you record the game, send a report in post game and a ticket with the footage, then this has already been confirmed multiple times to be 100% bannable.
As for the actual length of the punishment, I suppose they'd make a judgement call, but it's highly unlikely it's gonna be a perma for a 1st offense. However, I wanna hope it isn't a slap on the wrist either.

@[Deleted User] said:
It's a common myth. No. It doesn't happen at any level play. Not even at the competitive level in the final four of high profile tournaments. I'm sure that it works out from a mathematical standpoint, but there are too many variables in practice. If the killer is camping intelligently, it'll be a 3v1 with 1 or 2 gens left.
This^. I'd say it works out mathematically, and barely so, if we're taking default parameters and somewhat assuming best-case scenarios. But with the correct loadout and a semicompetent killer, you can consistently force a 2k against optimal teams.
Against soloQ? Let's not even go there.
-
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that out of the 40 perks about to be reworked, NOED's not gonna be one of them. That would be hilarious.
-
That would be my dream uninstall, both for killer and survivor. But it's ok. After 3k hours, I would finally get detoxed.
-
Congratulations. It's not something that happens every day, but nobody wants an innocent person to get punished. Sometimes mistakes just happens. It's good that they're willing to double check.
Tip for everyone: if you can, always record your games. You never know if you may need them to save your behind.
@GentlemanFridge said:
Congrats. I’ve never actually heard of a succesful ban appeal before.
There have been a few. There was a pretty big case back in the days of someone who was wrongfully banned because Steam achievement bugged out and unlocked, made a big deal of it on Reddit showing proof of innocence and eventually got unbanned. But it wasn't as easy as OP's case here, there was definitely a lot of resistance and the publicity did help. That post probably still exists.

If kicking gens was meaningful then killers might be less inclined to tunnel.
That's simply not true. It's just a disingenous view that tries to sell the illogical point that players would willingly forego their easiest path to victory just because something else became available, or out of kindness, or honor.
Camping and tunneling always existed. Back in the days when there wasn't an obsession by default, if you loaded into a trial without the Entity's tentacles around any of the survivors' icons in the hud, then the first person found could just kiss themselves goodbye, because they weren't either getting off their first hook, or they were going to get back on it immediately.
Same a couple years ago, when the DS stun was bugged on a few killers and, surprise surprise, those were the only characters you would see played in that period. And by pure chance they all happened to tunnel the ######### out of every soul.
It's wishful thinking to think that camping and tunneling wouldn't happen if we let that be enforced by a sort of inexistent honor system, or worse by increasing gen times without any other stipulations.
See what happened to DbD derivative Deathgarden, that had no effective remedy against those strategies.

They basically made it a griefing perk by adding the extra penalty. You can follow teammates around and regress gens.
I understand they don't like the idea of people going afk on gens, hence why they thought the penalty MIGHT have been a good idea. But as usual theory =/= practice. The perk is meant to be training wheels. The thing is, there's ALREADY a penalty when you miss a skillcheck. With the extra penalty, they just made it like every time the training wheels saves you from falling, then someone comes to you and slaps you in the face for failing.

@xSymantha said:
I wonder if they are still working on it but hesistant to say anything yet because it's not set into stone and cannot accurately state a timeframe (which they are seeming to be more careful with).
In dbd lingo 'cannot accurately state a timeframe' translates to years from now if ever at all.

How does that work in the Endgame Collapse? They take a hit for another survivor, you lose both because they'll reach the exit gate before you can reach them again. It happens A LOT. In my case, it was like 20 meters from the exit. David's presence literally made me lose the kill. I didn't have a choice, there was no possible way to counter it. It takes zero skill and no punishment. Is it fair?
It works the same in endgame collapse. EGC is not a special treatment. They made a smart play. Win some, lose some. That's all.

While this is true, it is really questionable why they dont disable it again.
Well, killswitching the offering/map again would be an embarassing implicit admission of a royal ######### up of what happens when relying on band-aids and no Q&A whatsoever.

God forbid they do something about the atrocious maps in this game but are quick to remove a fun mechanic that took a bit of skill on a killer that takes skill to begin with..
It what world they could be deemed as 'quick' at removing hug tech, if they eventually even do it all? Are you really ignoring for how long it's been im the game?

It would be interesting for a Dev to comment on the Oni 180 flicks. I’m not talking about the ones that are pulled off by dashing against an object, I’m talking about the ones where the Oni looks up right before flicking, and then flicks 180 degrees. If the blight hug tech is considered a bug, by the same logic I would think Oni 180 flicks are also a bug.
They fine tuned his flick over multiple patches. We know pretty well it's intended to be capped at 90 degrees.
