"I represent the top 0.01% of players. I somehow think this flex makes me qualified to talk about how NORMAL PEOPLE play this game. Due to my extreme big brain experience, I can safely say there is nothing wrong with this at my level, therefore it is fine."
Isn't it the narrative of this forum that the issues of this game stem from the fact that the devs balance toward mediocre players instead of the top ones? Or is that point valid only when it fits the agenda?
-
No.
-
He's a solid A. He mostly suffers in areas with tightly connected tiles. But that could be said about almost all the roster.
He's very consistent and straightforward otherwise. Definitely my go-to option when I want to switch off my brain.

So you didn't watch the video then.
You can't blame them for that. It's not the media section. If you put a media in general discussion, it's as a reference for points that you make in writing.
-
Range addons are bugged. So, everybody is spamming them currently. They were still her top tier addons before that. Fun stuff.
-
They're still facecamping, but different cosmetics.
It's a less racist facecamping. So, technically an improvement.
-
Holy #########, the meme is that survivors are whiny and entitled and try to complain until they get their way, but there are more daily DH threads than active users on this forum.
-
It's unfair. 3 perk slots were wasted.
-
DC'ing per se is not reportable and it's handled exclusively through the automatic timeouts.
Unless they'd literally admit to their intentions in chat, nothing would happen.
-
@Maverick_74F said:
There hasn't been a announcement of anything confirmed tho. One community managers opinion doesn't speak for the devs.
You need to stop spamming that over and over. She told you expressly that she spoke with internal knowledge. At this point, you're just trying to discredit her.

Nah, i don´t bother. Since survivors are just skins. Killer challenges make more sense, since the killers have different powers. But survivor challenges?
I´m just happy, that we don´t have something like "survive and escape 4 times using only No Mither"
Well, not 4 times...
-
They won't get nerfed, imho. They might tweak a couple add-ons, maybe. But that's as far as I see them going. I mean, you can technically count that as a nerf, the point being it won't likely be a substantial one if any at all.

It's a such a subjective question. For me, probably Bubba.

Yes, it would be abusable. Especially with oak offerings on some maps.

Ah yes, actual proof of people playing against it and showing it is blatantly obvious it is fully possible to mindgame/counter it is not proof.
Who's moving the goal posts again? But you do you with the circlejerk rants. Maybe read the dictionary? Here, I'll even help you out:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/data
factual information (such as measurements or statistics) used as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or calculation
Gee, I wonder what actual recorded gameplay of people out-mindgaming it could possibly be.
Oh, that reminds me. You feel like giving actual proof that hug tech in its current implementation is overpowered or are we supposed to just listen to statements out of your rear? Just asking by the way.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2948214#Comment_2948214
Correcting some of the erroneous statements others have made. Blight is intentionally designed with sliding mechanics created which allows him to slide around objects like walls, cars, rocks, etc. However, an unintended bug that currently exists called hug tech is when Blight starts the Rush already pressed up as close as possible to the object ("hugging") it. Doing so reduces/removes the collision and allows Blight to slide from a stand still rather than rushing towards an object and then sliding around it. Sliding in general is intended. Starting a slide from zero by hugging the object is an unintended bug. It is fairly simple to mindgame as it locks Blight into the path around whatever he's sliding. Think of it as running across a train track versus riding a train across the train track. One semi-locks you in, the other doesn't. The counterplay is out-reading it, not out-reacting it.
It's genuinely funny how many people have no clue what they're talking about and how often they mix stuff up.

The first hit is working correctly. Everything after that is not ok, though.
Did the killer say something in chat?
-
I saw that on Reddit. The totem was noed lolololol.
@[Deleted User] said:
Oof i thought that this might be an issue but i thought they would account for this.
Now the map might need disabling for like 4+ weeks until it can be fixed in the next patch.
It's even more amazing that suddenly the map somehow got bugged in that spot for picking up survivors, even though it had never been before and no changes were made in recent patches. Bug out of nowhere for no reason. Then it literally gets band-aid fixed and nobody even thinks that there's a totem spawn there that existed since release.
Honestly, the gift that keeps on giving.
-
@Tsulan said:
Ok i have to ask. Since this is the first time, that i hear the term "hug tech". What is it exactly?
At the beginning of a rush, or during the slam window, look down and get in contact with the object in front of you. You will be able to do a rush and slide against the surface that you're touching instead of bumping into it. This allows you to pre-turn, or to bypass the need of finding objects to bump against to navigate around an obstacle.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
So basically now any Blight that slides on a car is exploiting?
I thought devs made the shack slippery on purpose, is this exploit now bannable?
They have changed their policy about bugs a long time ago. They don't ban for any of this stuff, killer or survivor, unless it's used to break some other rule, like getting on an unreachable spot to take the game hostage.
Moreover, some tiles simply have no collision whatsoever. You will slide off them no matter what, regardless of player's input.

Countering hug tech is just countering sliding in general. The only real difference is if he's approaching from somewhere else or started the slide at the loop, but either way, he's sliding around the thing the same way once he's at the surface he's sliding around.
Objects in a map always have the exact same collision (outside of when collision itself is changed). A pile of whatever on map X will always have the same collision as that same pile of whatever on map X in another play through. What Blight can and can't slide around can be learned for this reason, and you can put Blight into situations to prevent even using it outright.
If it's a short-height loop, it's not any different from countering bump logic. You see them coming regardless and play around that. Eg, positioning around a pallet on said loop so that there is no way to land a hit since the pallet will prevent it. Them coming sliding around or from bump logic doesn't matter when the only way to you is through an undropped pallet regardless of which direction they go.
Do: https://youtu.be/KrKo7-NNU_s?t=824 (Mindgame and make them commit to a false direction)
research: https://youtu.be/p-JdvyLQ68I?t=734 (Messy collision + pallet blocks the only way to land a hit regardless of which way loop is ran even if sliding was possible)
before: https://youtu.be/KWdJaPSDKA8?t=168 (Blight expects survivor still hugging at loop, survivor made correct play in peeling off the loop so that Blight cannot reach them with sliding range)
making: https://youtu.be/e-29j3uWNrA?t=167 (Messy collision, cannot be slid around, prevents using hug tech entirely)
ignorant: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/U6MjsOMjGLQ (Cut off LOS, peel off and go other way, if you read Blight correctly, you evade hit. Works on any other LOS-blocking loop like Shack.)
assumptions: https://youtu.be/ArWKXCVLCuo?t=135
If you ever were curious why hug tech basically almost never appears in comp, it’s because it’s simple enough to mindgame and avoid because it locks Blight to a certain limited possible paths compared to bump logic. It’s a fancy move that looks cool but that’s about it. It’s not uncounterable by any means, and is easier to counter than bump logic. Before you go “oh but comp useless for balance”, obviously at a general level, yes. You can still learn from chases. See how good players chase as and against the killer and apply it to regular matches.
Not player's data. Look that word up: data. It doesn't mean what you think it means.
For the remainder of your rant, I can only say this: moving the goal post.
-
@SuzuKR said:
I wish any of the people criticizing hug tech would have actual conclusive evidence it is overpowered. Cause actual player data shows people mindgame it just fine at equal levels of play.
There's no player data whatsoever available to us regarding hug techs. You shouldn't spread misinfornation, especially when you criticize lack of conclusive evidence in the very sentence before that one.

And I'm quite sure she regrets it now that she said it..
They're very noncommital about releasing information the community could be sensitive about. If she commented only now on a recurrent topic that's been debated to death, it's safe to assume they green-lighted it.
-
It doesn't matter. The patch will break something else and a new 'tech' will be discovered in minutes. Just like the other 46578347 times.
-
You would think they would know there's always been a totem spawn spot there before they put a giant bob in front of it. I mean, the spawn has been there since the release of the map.
-
Good survivors would run to the boon and they would get healed mid-chase or run away for free if the killer snuffs it because they're going to be forced to.

We have this bug since his release, when will be fixed? Next year? This is why they should do less chapter releases and focus on game health, is just ridiculous the actual state of the game but let's release more content that will broke the game even more.
I wouldn't say exactly since his release. He's had a series of bugs since his release that when patched introduced something else that could be exploited. Sometimes, those were discovered in minutes after the update with the fixes.
So, let's say they go ahead and remove hug 'techs'. There's no guarantee another bug won't come along and then we'll wait months or years for a fix that never comes, repeating the cycle all over again.

The additional fov over monitor is not that noticeable. But the fov changing can be annoying for some people. Also, monitor is used more for the TR manipulation.

There’s a difference between survivor and killer though. Killers are responsible for only themselves, where survivors have three others that they should be considering as well.
Not saying that you’ve said this, but any survivor who complains about a Bubba ruining the game for others by camping hook is just as guilty as Bubba himself for “ruining the game” by killing themselves on hook because they make it to where he can go and get the others faster because he doesn’t have to camp them any longer.
Unfortunately, this is not correct. Survivors have no obligations toward each other beside what the rules forbid about the likes of sandbagging or hostage-taking, for example. But cooperation is entirely optional and can be withdrawn at any time. Survivors are free to play as selfishly as they wish, provided they don't break the general rules. This also mean they have no obligation to hold on hook, as the game itself provide them with the mechanics to take their chances to kobe or simply letting go in the struggle phase. None of those are bannable in and of themselves.
This has been confirmed many times, it's not a matter of opinion.
-
It makes just about as much sense as somebody rubbing their hands on your back, after you got mowed down by a chainsaw and then had a filthy meat hook go through your torso, and after a few seconds you're all fine and dandy.
Why does it make sense?
Because Entity.

@shinymon said:
Interesting. So is there no actual person controlling the killer? Can they detect you in lockers?
Yes, it's an AI, but sometimes it will leave an automated message in chat in post game.
They don't have a 1-position-kill, but you can't hide nor delay them.
They don't seem to be particularly well programmed to use most killer powers, but if they just m1 you you're done in seconds, as they have no cooldown, they instantly break pallets and they teleport.

Perk could use a change heres one I proposed somewhere else.
Resurgence (added effect) Healing progress can no longer regress while at or below 50%
This would be a very simple and fair change. It should apply to solidarity as well.

Sounds like you might lean toward some slowdown and some chase perks to save time yourself.
Have a look at these:
Bamboozle, corrupt, monitor, fearmonger.
Bamboozle, corrupt, blood echo, plaything.

Well there is an alternative they could have done - just start the endgame collapse automatically when only one survivor is left. No hatch needed for that, it just becomes a sudden death race for the survivor to open one of the gates or die. You’d still not have games stalling out at that point, it’s just that it would be more likely for the killer to get the last kill.
Theoretically that could work. But there are too many achievements, archives, and items interacting with the hatch at this point. It would be a lot of work that I'd be surprised they'd be willing to do it.

I'm convinced they're not being honest about the matchmaking functionality/MMR range. I'm being matched with teammates who don't seem to understand how the TR functions. This is genuinely unplayable outside of a 4 man SWF anymore.
From what I can gather from strictly anecdotal evidence both as killer and survivor, it looks like there’s always one member of the team who has no clue how the game works. I mean that literally, as in running away from resources, never touching gens, etc. This might go up to two people per team, while the remainder are usually decent players.
-
I blame hockey.
-
I still mess up on a few spots on Lery's and I get lost on RPD.
The others are fine.
-
If you could cancel it at any time it would be literally game breaking, as survivors would have no time window to leave the tile, defeating the purpose of the animation lock entirely.

"Toxic" in DBD basically means: Anything a person does not like. It has lost all meaning over the years, basically everything is toxic now.
Disagree. There are things that are toxic. For example, when survivors spawn on the map. That's objectively ######### toxic.
-
Yes, bannable if they said it in chat. Make to report it in postgame screen. They can already see chat reports, but take a screenshot just in case and send a ticket.

I just went against one of those bot streaming. At least, it was fast, I'll give'em that.

I have DbD on my work laptop for when I just want to login if there are login rewards on something. Eac legit gives me an error message every single time I close the game saying forbidden program detected or something. There's literally only Office and Adobe on that computer and every copy is genuine.

Even if you hit 100% of your chains and used them at the right moment they're still inconsistent.
They're a utility for multiple purposes. As antiloop, they're average at best except at specific tiles. But again, every antiloop power has tiles where it shines.

Figured it out. Its tied to fps.
At 120fps potd locks you instantly and shoots. At 20 fps i was able to almost 180 and shoot, and at 60 fps you get about 45 degrees.
Good ol' bhvr code lol.
-
Good catch on video. That definitely shouldn't have happened. I'm sure I've seen unhook iframes work normally recently. So, this might also be a BT bug where endurance get consumed during unhook, or a Bubba bug.
Pretty bad stuff anyway.

Why not just make a vanilla mode that has no perks for anyone instead of removing specific things people like to use
They tinkered with that idea years ago and probed for interest. It was meant as an experiment for a selected pool of players, like a sort of closed beta. I can't remember if it ever come to fruition. However, it's not hard to predict how it would go/went.
