Key words are here: SWF. Yeah, you can do this with your friends. But on solo-q, you are clueless. You are going to save your teammate, you are seeing Bubba is camping. You are turning back to gens but you already wasted so much time.

Running to look at a hook really shouldn't take you that much time. As killer, I run laps all the time, checking something once or twice shouldn't be too much of a hardship.

Soooo.... How would you feel about taking the last survivor to the hatch, dropping him, closing the hatch in front of him and then proceed to hook him?

You know, just asking. Out of curiosity

Did it traumatize you that much? So a survivor taunting a killer at the gates is ok, but killers taunting back is toxic?

That's poor sportsmanship. I understand it frustrating you, but I feel like it's just a game. When someone goes to that much effort to mess with you, it's almost a compliment. You had something more important to do with that five seconds?

That's trolling, something that happens anytime people have no fear of being slapped. Trolling isn't toxic, you think anyone who's played DBD for more than a minute hasn't been trolled? You can choose to be offended or just laugh about it. I choose to laugh, but also kill.

Sometimes I'm Bubba in TCM, sometimes I'm Bubba in TCM:TNG. Ash got dumped on all the time, he was never offended that the evil deadites were evil.

To your actual question, I would never do things like that, my parents taught me to be a good sport. Also I think it's way more badass to kill someone and then just walk away. If someone did it to me, I'd laugh and then hop into my next trial.

  • I don't see anything in-game as toxic except maybe bleeding out when it's unnecessary. It's a game where one guy tries to murder four others. We all chose to play a game where that's the only thing that happens.

How is it playing dirty? They have no obligation to give you free information.

Actually you kind of do, that's how the game is set up. Did you think it was accidental that the killer can see survivors and their equipment? By trying to get an extra edge, you're playing dirty. Also you're admitting you need an extra edge. Most survivors do.

But like I said, I like a last-minute swap, makes me camp and tunnel with even less remorse.

Are we coming to the forums and creating a thread, every time one person says something to us?

The majority of the player base understands the game and the challenges and the tactics....etc.

Please stop paying attention to a vocal minority, and just move on, trusting the rest of us know how the game is played.

Oh look, it's the guy that has to pay for the electric bill on every post. Oh, you don't? Then why is it your problem if people want to talk about things that don't interest you?

  • Both bodyblocking and camping are specifically allowed in the rules.

  • DBD is a very simple game, but the strategies are endless. Hundreds of combinations of perks, powers, equipment and add-ons.

  • As a survivor, even if you carry your team, you're not doing everything. Points are being scored at all times, and you're not the only one scoring them. The amount of points available on the survivor side is considerably higher, but they have to be shared.

As killer, I am responsible for every action for my team. My point limit is the same as yours, but I'm the one that has to participate in every single scoring event. Killers get more points because there's no downtime. There are lots of times a survivor can just chill, hang out while another gets hooked, being ready for the save, opening chests. While you're setting things up, killers are going from one action to another.

I'm not going to address the stupider things you said, just explaining why killers average more BP.

  • @JonahsTablet said:

Not true, it just takes a bit more skill to tilt the game in your favor as killer. Learn Nurse/Blight, throw on 4 slowdown perks, use Alch Ring/Crow or Double recharge and watch your win streak pile up.

So it's not easier for survivor, it's just harder for killer? Perfectly balanced in favor of survivors. Gotcha.

No. actually, the tv is what makes her powerful. the tv should have limitation, whether you close the one near the generator, the tvs on nearby are still on. her mobility is actually limitless.

Except for the limitations, you mean.

  • I watched this, God that guy is an idiot.

Players should be able to access all the times they've been reported, just for laughs.

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

I heard she's pretty underwhelming tbh.

What's up with BHVR and underwhelming killers?

    Survivors prefer it.

  • I expect Steam Deck to be my platform of choice, so this is important to me as well.

  • It's a good counter to COH. Exposure perks are probably all more popular right now.

  • Yes, it's terrible when killers use perks in the game. You'll never catch a survivor relying on perks for every single thing they do.

  • Very much. Sadako is what I wanted Spirit to be. No hate on Spirit, I just love Asian horror and Ringu started it for me.

  • It sucks because Legion is fun to play. I get more kills with Pinhead and I've only played Pinhead four times.

  • The same goes for Dead Hard. I say remove them both.

  • I don't get it either. The survivor that goes out of their way to be obnoxious is the one that cries the most when you get them. "We teamed up to chain-blind you, and you're going to tunnel us for it? The horror!"

But a good strategy for dealing with the "I'm going to tilt the killer" players is to give in to it right away. They can't make you mad if you're the one who's making them mad.

  • Often survivors get the gens done before I've killed anyone. Justify that. It's boring for me not to win, justify how it can be fair that I don't always win!

The justification for camping first hook, the killer wants to. That's how multiplayer games work, there are no NPCs.

If you think the rules should change, at least pretend to think survivors should also lose some of their free will, so then you don't look like such a crybaby.

My justification for camping: I'm the killer.

  • "I don't like it when killers try to play the game! It's boring!" - All Survivors

  • I used to berate my kids for buying pretend clothes, so ridiculous!

But then I started playing DBD, I now have a huge wardrobe of pretend clothes.

  • Unlikely, this seems to be something that's unreasonably important to the devs. I'm thinking it's sunk-cost fallacy.

People say "no one judges MMR fairty because the way the matchmaking works messes up the MMR" So? I don't care how fun works, I just want fun. If reality = better before, than I prefer before.

If Steam stats keep going down, that might eventually reach them. People don't want to invest time and money into a multiplayer that's losing players. I don't think hordes of people are quitting because of SBMM, but many of us are just playing less because it's less fun.

I used to play a couple times a week, but I'd play all damn day and half the night. Last night was the only time I played in more than a week, but I played about four hours and had a great time, even when outmatched, it felt like a fair match. Maybe last night was me seeing MMR succeeding.

But if it's only good every now and then, before = better.

  • If you don't want me to camp your friend, why are you dry-humping me while I walk to the hook? Then you don't lead me away to make rescue easy, you hide, because that makes no sense. You're doing everything but setting up my tent.

When are they going to punish survivors for facecamping the hook? All you had to do was not chase me to the hook. If I have half the team, I'm staying.

  • You shouldn't save your dailies because that means you're missing out on other dailies. You're better off spending and then doing more dailies.

Also once I completed one and didn't claim, then the game made me complete it again. Never again, I said.

I really dont know what your on about. My hours as killer still outweigh my hours of survivor.

Fyi a survivor avatar does not mean that person only plays survivor or vise versa. If you have fun tinneling, camping, rushing gens, boons, etc knock yourself out. Just dont expect a warm response from the side having no fun in the matter.

I didn't respond to your hours or preference, I responded to the idea that killers should help the other team win. "Killers tunnel and camp because that's who they are"? Yes, we chose to play killer, some of us play like killers.

The best counterplay to COH is tunneling and camping. Wounding isn't a slowdown anymore. There used to be a benefit to hitting the unhooker, two wounded meant two that need to find a safe spot to heal. Now it means nothing, just a few points. Wounds only matter when the survivor is already wounded.

As a killer, I'd think you'd be able to understand that. Play and counterplay ARE related.

  • Bodyblocking is wrong when killers do it, only survivors should be allowed to bodyblock. Same goes for perks, killers using perks is cheating and toxic. Waaaaaah.

Sorry, I was pretending to be a survivor.

  • @Lord_Xylum said:

If a Killer stands within 16m of a hook for longer than a minute, they shouldn't be allowed to injure/down other Survivors until the hooked Survivor is rescued and 24m away from the Killer.

Facecampers should be punished. Primarily Bubbas.

Facecamping is the perfect punishment for players like you, unable to READ THE RULES.

  • I was reported for allowing survivors to three-gen themselves.

  • Yes, we should change the rules of the game so you'll have an easier time.

What should we stop survivors from doing? How should they be forced to provide killers with a better game experience?

  • @chargernick85 said:

    Yes quit.

Killers are tunneling and camping regardless of CoH, swf, solo, etc. They do it and claim its because of those reason.....its not. It just who they are.

Well, it's how the game was created. I know you expect killers to play to help you, but we aren't supposed to.

  • This is the first killer I've been excited about in a while. Sadako is who I wanted Spirit to be.

  • I've played a lot of bad trials in DBD, but I've never bothered remembering anyone's name.

  • I got more hate when I was new, trying to learn and have fun with folks, and didn't realize survivors are always going to cry.

Now I try to play in a style that makes it clear I'm not trying to please survivors.

unfortunately no, i play on a notebook without the ethernet thingy

So did I, but then I went and got me a long ethernet cable so DBD would work.

  • @dugman said:

Facecamping as Doctor seems like a particularly terrible strategy considering his kit has some of the best tracking in the game. He’s way better off proactively going after survivors than waiting for them to come to him.

Yeah, Doc can blast to see if anyone's around, and at any time at least one survivor should be in tier 3. Waiting seems like a waste of Doc's time.

  • @Phasmamain said:

People are going to tunnel. No perk nerfs or buffs are going to change that. We need actual in game changes for it to decrease

    That's what op was suggesting.

  • Run.

Killers don't owe you anything. Make yourself easier to hit, you'll be hit more often. Wearing bright colors implies you're good enough to get away. Don't dress up like someone who can get away if you're not someone who can get away.

Again, not our job to help you win, killers are the other team.

  • I think the real problem is COH removes the gravity of wounding. Up until now, getting wounded in DBD was a big deal. You still run the same speed, but now you're bleeding, grunting with pain, one hit from a slug. Healing took some time and was also noisy. Many players would go to the far edge of the map to hide and heal.

Now it's nothing, you can wound someone and they heal before your animation is done. If you don't get them on a hook, you wasted your time going after them.

  • Gens popping like corn, swat agents...

I like the way you talk.

  • Not a problem I have, but I'm mediocre at best. If you're maining Legion and doing well, you're probably way better than me.

For guides, just hit Youtube. PotatoLegion is a good player that mains Legion, but it's best to watch a few guides on a killer just to learn different playstyles and perk combinations. There's a lot of strategy in playing killer, there's always something that never occurred to you.

But check the date on the guides. Old guides are worthless, perks change a lot, so has Legion.

Honestly I'd like to try first person survivor I think that'd be very challenging and make DBD more scary.

That's like survivors main power against the killer, awareness of the area around them vs killer tunnel-vision. Even with the increased visibility, the killer has to have a red spotlight shining out of his face.

Also survivors don't want a scary game, they want an easy game.

  • Yeah, COH isn't enough, we should make the game as easy as possible for survivors. Why even have killers?

  • I like it when they do a last-second swap. Shows me that I should also play dirty, which is way more fun.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

I think the reason why you see BBQ and discordance as killer perks has to do with concept of a security blanket.

some players have very bad sense of direction when it comes to understanding the flow of a match. They're afraid of not having 100% chase-up time in a match as killer, so they run information perks as Insurgence towards finding survivors. They find possible loss of time looking for survivors a greater than reward of gaining more time on generators. I would say information perks are safety net perks.

Another possible reason for running information is to tunnel as killer. instead of explicitly tunneling off hook, its more indirect soft-tunnel by finding survivors that are on death hook towards middle stage of the game.

Pain Resonance is used to trigger DMS without the killer requiring to commit going to a generator. Knocking off 2 survivor for a full 12 second+45 seconds of DMS is increatible perk value. It is really interesting question whether deadlock or Pain Resonance is stronger.

I feel like No way out a bit overrated for a perk. I feel like true power of No way out really comes from NOED and nothing else. In matches that you have won, its fanatic win-more perk for alerting exit gates but I feel like the perk functionally is no better than running blood warden. At most, it gives 1 extra hook in late game. I would describe No way out as Haunted ground of hex builds. Its like Icing of cake. Haunted grounds can often snowball Hex:Ruin or Hex:Devour hope builds rapidly. No way out can escalate NOED.

I run stbfl a lot on vast majority of my killers and the reason why I run it is because my greatest fear as killer is bodyblocking & shift-W gameplay on m1 killers. My other fear is dropping safe pallets but there is no perk that is viable for punishing safe pallet drops. If only coup the grace cough cough was more useful cough cough(no token system please).

In the end, the best perk build is the one that works best for you and complements your strengths & weaknesses as a player.

So you think that once a survivor has been hooked twice, killers should never chase them again, ever? Are we allowed to chase them in other matches, or do they get to be untouchable forever? This is so ######### stupid, it's not our job to help survivors win. When is a survivor expected to go easy on me so I win?

Nobody uses BBQ for the info, we use it for the points. It's not a security blanket, it's a reason not to camp.

  • Walk sideways and their wiggling won't effect you much.

I drop them, then fight over their slug. If they wiggle free, I go after them again and don't down them until we're closer to a hook.

When a survivor makes it too difficult for me to hook, I make them pay it back when I finally get them.

Iron Grasp works too, but I prefer Agitation, doesn't work as well against Boil Over, but I often used it before Boil Over, it can save you a lot of time overall.
