They don't stay in the trial, the endgame screen shows them leaving just like survivors (but not with them). Running to the next trial, I assume.
I would say the killers awareness of the situation depends on the killer.
Some killers like Pinhead and Executioner probably understand the situation completely, to the extent a demon would understand how hell and heaven works. They're metaphysical to start with, always seeing beyond what humans see.
The ghost killers and the ones that died in life probably see it as their hell. Rolling the same rock up the hill for eternity, except it's killing the same toxic humans over and over.
Bubba don't think deep. He's just protecting his family and trying to put food on the table. He probably recognizes faces sometimes, but he's so severely mentally handicapped he doesn't speak at all. He might be less capable of understanding than a five year old. Bubba is the real victim.
Demo is an animal, controlled by one Entity or another, we know they can recognize people, but killing the same person twice probably isn't something he'd think about. Just imagine a cat killing a mouse, "wait, is this the same mouse I killed yesterday?" The might notice "sometimes they smell exactly alike".
Doc knows and loves it, he didn't want his victims to die.
There's no way to answer for Michael, there's nothing inside him but pure evil.
I don't feel qualified to answer for any others. Fun question.

Survivors: I think you're a dirty scumbag for trying to win.
Killer: I don't think about you at all.

Unpopular opinion here but the only killer I despise facing is Trapper. Losing a health state because I stepped on a trap is annoying as hell. It’s so rng no looping no skill on my part just pure unluckiness.
The traps aren't placed by RNG, they're placed by a human playing a Trapper.
Unluckiness isn't why you're stepping in them, the human who placed them put them in places you were likely to step.

I'm a survivor, I use terms like "held the game hostage" when a killer body blocks. Only survivors should have the power to bodyblock. No fair!
-
I think DBD HAS to be survivor-sided to some extent. If the game were perfectly balanced, killer would be more popular. A killer shortage isn't a good thing, but a survivor shortage would cause bigger problems in queue. Playing survivor has to be fun enough that 80% of players want to do it at any given time. Luckily, playing as a group is always popular so SWFs would still play survivor consistently. Gotta be 80% though. Waiting for one player to pick the unpopular role is what survivors have to do, imagine waiting for 4 players to choose the unpopular role. Bad news.
But it would be nice if playing killer didn't seem so punishing. It's easy to feel like BHVR wants us to quit. I know that's not true, but it can seem that way.

Realistically? None. Simply becuz killers would probably hate/want to kill each other out of pure nature alone.
Survivors would have a hard time talking to one another without translators and the only people who could get along are people who speak the lingua franca, English.
Now, if we were to talk about characters that could interact, (outside of English speakers) I would guess:
Adam, Yui and Yoichi as Adam knows at least basic Japanese.
Maybe Yun-Jin and Jake as both speak Korean.
They may be not "besties" but they'd get their message across.
So cynical, many of them have a very human side. Bubba's not even evil. Demo's essentially an animal.
You're right about Pinhead, Nemesis, Freddy, maybe a bunch.
-
Does Tomes really affect which killers are popular that much? I play them for the few challenges that I'm required to, tops. I can't play a killer I don't like more than a couple times.
-
I love Nurse, but I love lots of other killers more.
If a killer only cares about winning, they probably should main Nurse. Missing out on so much, though. Chasing is my favorite part, there are so many different types of chase in this game.
You should give it a whirl.

If you absolutely need to see where you're blink will go, then the addon is the only way.
Don't recommend using it though, since it can mess up your muscle memory.
An addon you might be interested in using would be wooden horse. Which can lesson the pain of DH a small bit.
Whatever you choose, the main and only thing you can really do would be as said above, blink near as though you will attack, and wait for the DH.
People say that, but there's no possible way I could learn Nurse without it. At least at the very beginning, to help learn the mechanics of controlling where you go, different levels, etc. Before I found out about flannel, I just considered Nurse impossible.
And I'm not very good at nurse, so I'm not proving you wrong, I'm just saying the addon makes it possible for me to try. I've never used crosshairs of any kind, and I'm a decent Huntress, but Nurse is on a different level of aiming. Even with flannels I sometimes end up wondering where the hell I went.
I'm sure you're right, learning correctly is important in lots of skills, but if the skill is completely out of reach without the training wheels, I think the re-learning is better than never learning. Nurse is hard.
-
There should be a way for a killer to give up, I think. Giving up as survivor is pretty easy.
As a young killer I found myself held hostage by bullies a couple times, but that was before EGC. I can see it being an appealing option for a killer out of his depth, but being forced to fight them is what taught me to beat them. Teams that rush the hook are where I get most my 4Ks. I learned from the best.
It would be a nice option for some people, I think the killer should be able to open the gates at any time. But I'd advise to never, ever quit. You don't get better by playing easy games, you get better by trying.

Some will never know from now on. I miss Hawkins... and i hope we get some more indoor maps.
I despise Hawkins, but the new screenshots look cool.

I'm 50 years old, I don't have time to even narrow it down. A perfect album is a collection with no weak songs, every song is good. When you put in the CD and let it play through at least once.
Portishead's Dummy is definitely a perfect album. I assume you're considerably younger than me, so let me compliment you on your taste.
-
I'm excited for it unless they have a problem with DBD's license, them I'm boycotting it.
I have room in my life for more than one game featuring Demo, Netflix #########. That goes double for Leatherface.

Fair enough.
I don't think anything in DBD really requires skill. It's very repetitive.
Sure quick heals help, but its not going to make a difference if a survivor can't make it there, nor last more then 20 seconds in chase fully healed with DH.
And I love the moxie in your reply. I also speak with a bit of an edge, and don't mind getting it in return.
I apologize for snapping, I never grew out of the "don't tell me what to do" phase. You're a good guy for being cool about it instead of making us both argue and lose the point.
But when everyone keeps pointing out the same thing, it's not always repetition, sometimes it's just true.
Circle of Healing virtually eliminated an entire playstyle. Survivors already bring 16 perks, if each brings 3 meta and a boon, that's 28 perks. That alone is OP, before we consider that CoH negates the pressure from the killer's basic mechanic. Wounds used to slow survivors down, now it doesn't. I feel like that benefits all survivors.

Boons and meta perks won't make you a good survivor, nor eliminate the mistakes for more then a few seconds, of mediocre survivor play.
Please stop regurgitating this stale argument. Boons and meta are only op on OP survivors. ######### survivors will be hooked 3 seconds after they DH towards a boon.
I was saying that survivors mostly aren't good, and yes perks will. When DS gets you out of the gate, it's not a skilled play, it's pressing E and escaping. That's not 3 seconds of second chance, that's winning by perk. You don't think healing is ten seconds helps mediocre survivors? Maybe you don't understand words.
And I'll regurgitate whatever I want. You do you, but I say what I want to say. I don't want your approval.

Right, so now if you actively chase another survivor but go and do a hook trade afterward you’re “camping”. Got it.
After hook, Killer has to leave the map and never chase that survivor again.
-
They should make a boon called "You Win, Don't Bother Playing" then about half of survivors would be happy.
-
I wouldn't have went in the first place. I'm old and don't do ######### I don't wanna do.
-
Survivor skill level is NOT at an all-time high, that's for sure. Everyone's great at using Boons and meta perks, but I see such dumb ######### in game.
-
I love it, actually being able to slow a gen without jumping through hoops feels great.

Why would you chat with survivors? Your job is to kill them, not listen to them.

No, but what perks* are good anti-stealth if we nerf Spine Chill?
You could try watching for the killer. The killer is supposed to have a power that you have to overcome, does it have to be a hard counter perk every time?
-
That's not a Head-popper Pig, that's AFK Pig. Head-popper Pig is when your goal is getting all your kills with hats.
-
Boring is survivor-speak for "pressing E doesn't counter this for me"

See my comment about people not taking enough advantage of her stealth when crouched.
And you're right. People focus on the traps, but her real power is her stealth.
-
Dead Hard is boring.
-
You answered your own complaint, bro. CoH makes killer way harder. Wounding doesn't slowdown anymore. 12 hooking takes longer than trials last.
So when a killer gets you, they have to make it count and they have to do it efficiently. Going for the healthy survivor used to be a strategy, get everyone wounded so they're busy and off gens. Now going for the healthy survivor is the wrong play, the killer is wasting his time.
Survivors benefit from CoH, massively. You don't get that for free, it's not like killers are just going to keep playing without ever trying to counter it. The counters for CoH are tunneling, camping and NOED. If you have a better idea for killers, say so. Snuffing boon totems over and over isn't something I'd consider.
Also just accept that if you're near death or about to enter struggle phase, you're getting camped sometimes. Killers that play smart exist. Tunneling is the most efficient strategy and it's not the killer's job to protect you from it.
-
God yes. Also the blue things need to scale up with number of trials required. I had one take a whole weekend once, didn't payout any more than an easy one.
-
I think all the legendary cosmetics are ruined by being linked as a full set. If I pay fifteen bucks for a virtual outfit, I should be able to wear my prestige mask with it if I want to.
-
Just a little something in chase. I don't want anti-loop, just something to change it up. Pig's ambush is crappy, but it gives me an option of not just chasing around and around. With Sadako I try to chase demanifested, but that doesn't benefit me enough to make up for hits I miss because demanifested. Any surprise you can gain is offset because you're announcing your intentions by switching.
Passing through Sadako could increase condemnation, or a de-manifested hit that did no damage but increased condemnation by a couple. Just something to give some variety to chase.
Also ######### the lullabye. If she were powerful, I'd understand, but she's not in the same league with Huntress. She's a stealth killer, survivors have Spine Chill and comms, there's no need for it. I surprise people more with Demo.
-
@deKlaw_04 said:
Get gud spirit is washed like Tom Brady
also why do people like huntress so much lmao
Huntress is probably the killer that's the most fun to play. There is nothing more satistying than hitting a long throw.
-
This would be so awesome. I would love to keep highlight/goof reels. My goofs would probably win youtube.
-
This just doesn't seem like a problem worth addressing. The killer does a meme that has a chance of getting kills but requires acting like a dick for an entire trial. The survivors can end the game and get some points. Who cares? This doesn't seem like it's taking the world by storm, it's trolling that's unlikely to kill you. Do gens and either die or escape. 75% is great odds.
Ever go against a SWF all running anti-hook builds? Sometimes the other team ######### with you. Make the most of it and queue up. The game is more fun when you don't take it seriously.
-
The whole people changing into objects thing bothers me. I can see turning into a ghost or a running-hunchback-monster, but I can't get my head around people turning into furniture.
-
I felt bad for a Bill the other night, I found him first and surprised him, but he was good at staying just out of reach. Chased him for what seemed like forever without seeing anyone else at all, finally put him on hook and noticed not a single gen had popped.

Stopping the survivors from doing generators is the bigger theme of the game. If you're gonna cheese a kill instead of pressuring gens then get fogged
No it's not, have you played this game? The game doesn't end until the survivors either escape or die. There's no way to "congratulations you stopped the gens" at all. That's just not a thing.
-
What sucks is it was a great patch. That was the patch where they did a ton of perk reworks and bugfixes. If it hadn't been for MMR and CoH, it would be the best patch ever.

The problem is that survivors will ignore healing completely and rush gens even faster if healing is useless. Look at chests, they use to be secondary objectives but since keys have become useless, no one wastes time on chest. Plunder's Instinct, Pharmacy, Ace in the Hole and Appraisal have become dead perks because they aren't worth the time spent open chests because 1 in 4 items in a chest are useless (keys), maybe even 1 in 2 items in a chest if you include flashlights.
You can't have a secondary objective if it's not worth the survivors time to do the secondary objective.
If healing is nerfed, then I guarantee that gen times are going to become faster because survivors won't waste their time healing.
I don't think anyone's saying healing should be useless. The problem is wounding is the main mechanism the killer has. If a survivor can heal in ten seconds, that completely eliminates any pressure caused by the main thing killer does. Imagine a killer perk that can remove all the progress from a gen in ten seconds.
It makes wounding pointless. Killers have to hook every chase or they're wasting time. Everyone's complaining about tunneling, but that's the only pressure a killer has.. Splitting up the pain used to be a good idea, now it's not, you go after the wounded or you're wasting time.
-
I love her. I love the character and I love playing her.
One thing I specifically want to agree with OP on, I think her mobility is excellent. Lots of people crap on it, say it's inferior to Demo's portals, I don't think it is. You can really pressure with it.
-
Because it only works against certain types of survivors.
-
I would be angry, but I would just go on with my normal life.
-
It really sucks coming out of a high-scoring win and then spend all those points and get nowhere. From feeling powerful to feeling impoverished.
-

For any game in general to maintain a rising level of players is difficult
Nobody is talking about maintaining a rising level. Going from record high to long-term consistent decline is what's being discussed.
Peaks and valleys are normal, especially in a game that releases regular DLC. Our peaks aren't peaking very high, it's not "just because."
-
Heartbound gets it.

The first rule of Rancor, you don't talk about Rancor.

I not only enjoy playing "bad" killers, I like playing killers I'm bad at playing. The dailies and challenges taught me that it's kinda fun to switch it up, even when hopeless.

Right. I don´t really get the hate. I see it is harder for killer but we have been beaten often enough on it.
It's harder for one side, but you can't understand why they don't like it? What if it's because it's harder?
