Why do you want to nerf an extremely situational perk?
Because survivors want automatic wins? Too stupid/greedy to exit?
-
It can still be used to give ######### players an escape during endgame.
And yes, if you get caught twice during endgame, you are #########. Try to learn to run.
-
"DS is worthless now that it only stops tunneling!"
"The game is ruined, everyone is tunneling!"
-
I think it would be way more fun if killer charms worked again. Winning charms that I never get to see doesn't motivate me much.
-
Survivors: "It's disgusting that killers play the game hard, only survivors are allowed to do that!"
Also Survivors: earned us a chat censor because they couldn't stop using vulgarity and racial slurs at killers for fun. Because survivors have earned us a toxic reputation which isn't great for business. Many of you only play for the chance to troll and ruin the game for others.
But yeah, killers are disgusting.
-
Thanks for this post. I want this killer to be good, but it looks like a killer that's geared toward players that are way better than I am. I don't have to do great with him, I rarely win with Legion but I like playing Legion, but I don't enjoy starting the match expecting to lose.
You opened my mind a little, so thanks.
But David King ain't #########, I'm way more scared of Nea.
-
Every new killer gets a rework, the question is will it be soon or in six months, and how much of a nerf will it be.
-
It's funny that so many of you think there will be a key nerf.
-
Survivors: "Now EVERY KILLER is tunneling"
Also survivors: "DS is useless now that I don't bring it, I would bring it if I could abuse the power, but all it can do now is deter tunneling!"
-
Holy crap.
This game should be renamed Crying by Daylight.

I still think a more passive anti-tunnel mechanic would be more beneficial. I advocate for a buff to Off The Record so a previously unhooked survivor leaves no scratch marks or pools of blood. That way it's not as bad as DS but also let's the survivor escape from a hook when they're not unhooked right in front of the killer.
I think survivors should run. If your teammate unhooks you in front of me, you both deserve the hook. Punishing bad plays is how games work. They have a team, I'm on the other team. Why should I help them overcome their own stupidity or selfishness? The best thing I can do is make them see the error of their ways so they can play better in the future. Safe unhooks are possible, truly possible, but DS and BT made it unnecessary. Again, let me say SAFE UNHOOKS ARE POSSIBLE, so maybe someone will notice.
I sometimes feel like DBD players, esp survivors, have never played any games. Where's the second chance in Chess? Does a bad play ever get rewarded in volleyball?
Safe unhooks are possible, but survivors have to try.

He's slow and survivors heal automatically from his main power. Seems pretty obvious. Slow killers usually have a power that makes up for it, this one has a power that suffers because of your slowness. Compare him to all other slow killers.
The perks do seem great, but I don't like buying killers just for the perks, I actually like playing the killers. As it stands, I have to buy him and sink 40 levels of bloodpoints into him to use those awesome perks. Back when good killers were a thing, you could buy the new killer and immediately enjoy the new perks on the new killer.
Normally when I buy something, it's something I want that will be fun to have. "But you get lots of BP while losing" isn't the same.
And then they nerfed him again after PTB, can't have trick shots doing extra damage, that would feel like fun.

Those who stop using DS are those who abuse 60s immunity.
The power in anti-tunnel is not touched. A huge drop of usage basically means people are not using it as anti-tunnel in the first place
Which is 100% true. Survivors don't want an anti-tunneling perk, they want a perk to abuse. I didn't encounter a single DS yesterday, no survivors are bringing it because they knew tunneling wasn't the appeal.
Now killers know it.
-
It's obviously the killer.

DS nerf was NOT AT ALL needed. It was survivors' only ticket to survival against tunneling and consecutive hooking with 60 seconds. And now it is gone if you repair, cleanse, heal, etc. Now more killers will enjoy tunneling, calling themselves pro killers and add to the toxicity.
How about the Devs do something meaningful for a change and resolve the tunneling and camping issue? Do you think low rank players enjoy getting tunneled and camped?
Also what next? Gen repair nerf or surv sprint speed nerf? Killers need to up their gameplay and strat, not have everything spoonfed by the game. And I say this as a killer myself. It disgusts me to see killers come crying here requesting for surv nerfs.
So while you were being tunneled and hooked within 60 seconds, you also had time to do gens, clense, heal, etc? Gotta have some safety or the game is no fun?
You weren't being tunneled, you call everything tunneling, you need a safe space. If you want to repair in complete safety, maybe try Car Mechanic Simulator? This is a game about trying to escape a killer, try it, you might like it.
-
Implying devs test.
-
Being tunneled but needs to tap a gen. Typical.
Why not let one of the other players, one that's not being "tunneled" do it? Is it because it has nothing to do with tunneling?
-
Jesus, if you can't escape the killer from across the map, what can you do? How many survivors play DBD because they can't find a good gen-repair simulator?
Survivors should love BBQ, it gives a killer a reason not to camp, it gives a reason not to tunnel. Survivors pretend to care about these things,

They’ve killed the perk, there’s no reason to use it anymore. After getting unhooked you either do nothing for 60 seconds ( which is stupid) or you start healing/working on a gen which immediately disables it. I think they should go back to the old DS but change the time it’s active from 60 secs to 30 secs. In a few weeks, killers will start tunneling everyone because no one has DS anymore. SoloQ will be hell.
It's almost like an anti-tunneling perk. What's wrong with you that you need some invulnerability time to play the game? There are lots of other ways to play like an ass.

@VexTheHex said:
It's cool for people to not abuse it anymore, but it does suck tunneling has sky rocketed.
But it's not because DS was nerfed, it's because survivors don't bring it if they can't abuse it.

Yes, I should just play better and evade the killer. It is completely my fault that he spots me when I'm unhooked and goes for me.
Yeah, that's what this game is, a killer is trying to kill you and your goal is to survive. If spotting you is all it takes to hook you, why do you think you should survive?
Try running, juking, looping, dropping pallets, vaulting, evasion, stealth... Sometimes a survivor will even trick a killer. Sometimes a team will give a killer someone else to chase. It's not my job to ensure you live, it's the opposite. Sorry for playing.
Tunneling is allowed, it's cheap but it's not cheating. Learn to beat other players or you lose, that's just how games work.
-
Other than getting lag from time to time on reworked maps, I love them all except the Pallet Factory.
-
Survivors: Tunneling is a huuuuuge problem!
Also Survivors: A perk that only deters tunneling isn't worth bringing! I need to be safe while I play!
-
Because more than 80% of the playerbase is surivors, and survivors hate it when killers can hurt them.
-
If you're tapping gens, you're not being tunneled hard enough.
-

Needs more randomly capitalized words to really get across how serious you are.
I like your style.
-
I like it, survivors can cry but I'm already in another lobby.
-
Best part: now it will get used to stop tunneling instead of just for being an #########.
Worst part: all the crying
Twist: I never cared. When I got an aggressive DS, I just took it as an invitation to tunnel.
-
Hag's teleport doesn't set you up for a hit, it puts you there and aims you in the right direction.
Then you use your method of input to "chase" the survivor and hit them. C'mon, you sound like a survivor, wanting the game to play for you.
-
What if, and hear me out, every now and then a survivor just learned to evade a killer?
I mean without using a perk to make it happen. What if a survivor tried learning some game skills?
-
Survivors: "There's no way to stop tunneling since DS only works for tunneling!"

Whenever you hook a survor the second time, you are tunneling... read the rulebook 🤣
Maybe you should?
Tunneling is specifically allowed in the rulebook, as is camping and facecamping.

Since the ds nerf every game i been has no obsession which means the killer hard tunnels the first survivor he sees😐
More likely just luck and you watching for it.
When I want to tunnel, DS never stopped me, it's just 5 seconds. Now that it's only used against tunneling, it will be more effective.
-
Accept that it's ok to lose or even just throw a game for fun. I used to be competitive and stress over every match, but doing dailies and rift challenges using killers and perks I'm not good with taught me that winning doesn't really matter. With a new killer, I might win by M1ing, but if I'm going to learn a new power, I have to lose some. Not giving a ######### is fun.
You get a lot of points in this game for losing, sometimes more than winning. Just say F it, and start a match you can't possibly win. Drop all the perks you rely on and try a new loadout, you'll probably lose but you might find a perk you love.
Also calming down will make you better.
-
DS is supposed to stop tunneling, not be a free heal after getting unhooked.
Once you're not being chased, you should be able to find a chance to heal if you want to. If it lasted through healing, most survivors would just heal in the open or under the hook, like they already do. Why bother with playing when you can use a perk?
