Because the rules SPECIFICALLY ALLOW camping? Also proxy camping is just called patrolling. Should I go hide in the opposite corner until you're ready to play the game some more?
Smart survivors are the penalty for camping, you decide if the strategy works. Do a gen or bait the camper away. Not from across the map, get close enough for a chase or just do gens. Dancing around like a fool in the distance is what makes camping work.
I don't owe you an easy unhook, but I'll happily chase someone else. It's not my job to help you, that's for your.... (wait for it)... team.

I think it's difficult to create a compelling monster character, since it's hard to motivate them. Every killer has something that makes them a killer, ideally, but monsters are more like animals or forces of nature.
It might be possible, but it'd be way harder to pull off.
@WiiFitTrainer said:
From a lore standpoint, no. I don't really like that demodog is in the game because it doesn't really make sense. He's basically an animal that kills for food which I would think the entity wouldn't care for.
From a fun standpoint, oh yeah. Gimme xdnomorph all day baby
The Entity motivates them. Demos didn't just eat, they serve a dark entity, The Entity just took one over. There's lore on different killers and why they serve the Entity, one of the big ones is if they don't, it tortures them. That's why Trapper and Doctor look so messed up. Then you have Leatherface, Pig types that are used to serving so just do it. Other end, you have Myers that's uncontrollable and just plain murders instead of sacrificing when he wants to, but the Entity accepts it like a compromise. If a monster is like an animal, it can be trained.
The Entity, like any good religion, can justify anything.

I drop survivors to go after others all the time, you literally answered your own question.
Also "Someone beat me, the rules should be changed!" is the attitude of a spoiled child.
-
Maybe survivors should stop encouraging killers to uninstall.
-
When going against a SWF, killers should get a 20% BP bonus. Problem solved. Comms straight up negate many killer powers/perks and addons. 20% and we're even.
Solo survivor should probable get a bonus as well.
-
I buy them when I'm close to completing them, but disconnect issues kept me from playing as much this time, so I'm only halfway.

@Gladonos said:
I don't suicide in order to punish the killer but at the same time why should you not suicide? Why do you care if the other people do gens? What does that give you?
Have you ever participated in a team activity?
-
When someone cheats, they're admitting they have to.
-
I love all free things. Even if I never equip, it's fun to have like a souvenir.
-
Streamers put TTV in their tags because they want people to see it, it's self-promotion.
Also, the rules specifically say that stream sniping isn't against the rules. It's a ridiculous thing to do, but not cheating.

You have to learn to NGAF. Stop trying so hard to win and focus on the true fun of the game, the chase.
When you lose against red ranks, that's to be expected, they have way more experience. Your goal is to make them earn it. If you make a crew of truly skilled players struggle to escape, at Rank 12, you did a great job. Give them a challenge, you're good, beat them and you're a God.
To learn to NGAF, I recommend playing matches you can't possibly win. Use a killer you suck at, go after challenges that screw your strategy completely. I used to be afraid of losing, but playing a level 2 Plague or Slinger just to complete a challenge taught me that it just doesn't make a tiny ######### of difference. This match sucks, in ten minutes I can be in another, then another...
You can get a lot of BP just for losing. I sometimes get more for losing than I do a 4k. Winning is obviously fun, but there are dozens of little victories to be had in this game. Play for the fun of being a killer, that's what it's all about for those of us that don't get frustrated.

And this is why we need a give up option against sluggers. Crawling around the ground for 4 minutes is not fun game play. You're the kind of killer I literally hope I never get matched against. I want to have fun not waste time bleeding out on the ground so you can feel like you won the match. Sluggers ruin the game, along with campers and tunnelers. Something needs to be done about all of it.
Having every survivor run to the most difficult loop every chase isn't always fun either, but the other team wants to win.
There are very few games where a person enjoys being scored against.

Would stbfl work. I know people use it because it decreases it after hitting a survivor but what about pallets
No, STBFL only works after successfully hitting a survivor.
-
The traps are for slowdown, they can be used differently, but they're limited. Pig's main power is her stealth.
-
Body blocking is specifically allowed in the rules, not bannable, players are specifically asked NOT to report it.
-
Smart TB: "I'm the runner, I want the killer to chase me so the gen-jockeys can do their thing."
Dumb TB: "Ha ha, I dropped a pallet so now I think I'm completely safe!"
-
When survivors aren't afraid of killers, tunnel them. The lack of fear is usually because they're good enough to get away from nice killers. Don't be a nice killer, give them a reason to run.
-
Just what this game needs, more quitters.
If you're too sad to play a game for a few minutes, why queue up?
-
My Bubba can't stand still.
-
I'd happily pay double for Jason.

Killers need to hear this again...
You're playing against other people, not bots. You're actively removing another person's ability to play the game. Something that survivors are incapable of doing to the killer. No side should be able to do this.
Never heard of a key?
-
@CornHub said:
Aren't keys strong enough?
If keys could be used in the lobby, it would solve the long queue problem, and we killers would only have to get involved when there's a survivor that wants to play.

I don't know why people get upset at BT being used to tank a hit. Frankly, I think it's a bad play most of the time. but if you can prevent a down with BT, then by all means do so. Having that deep woulds effect just guarantees the killer got something out of it anyway. Because you can ignore being injured to do a generator - but you can't ignore Deep Wounds.
It's probably considered toxic because "WAAAAAAH, tunneling is more evil than genocide!" attitude killers have to tolerate. Most evil thing in the world unless it's convenient for survivors, then force it to happen because it serves their purpose.
-
Quit a game because you lose rank? Wouldn't it be easier to not give a ######### about rank and just play for wins/points/fun?
Rank doesn't really matter, it just happens while you play.
-
@Guest1567432 said:
I don't expect survivors to give killers anything....and Im sure survivors feel the same about killers.
Really? So you've never heard of the Survivor Rules for Killers?
-
The same reason it's not against the rules to spend an entire trial hiding in a corner?
It's a game where players want to have choices. I don't understand all the choices, but if you want an opponent that's predictable you need to play something against a bot. Players are the variable.
For the record, wasting people's time to be an ######### is f-ing ridiculous. The only time I've ever had a survivor bleed out is when I couldn't find them, and I felt a little bad that time.
-
I don't think so. Killers having tunnel vision while survivors have more awareness of their surroundings is one the main concepts they built the game on. I think if a survivor tried to play in first person, they'd be screwed.
Much of the survivor's power comes from a killer's view being limited while theirs isn't. A survivor can do 360's without moving their camera, so they don't have to re-orient. When a killer gets turned around, it takes them a second to figure out where they are. Trying to keep an eye on a chasing killer while running away would be really difficult.
-
I regret that I have only one upvote to give.
Seriously, flagship killer and his power is.... one beartrap.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again: KIllers should get a BP bonus against SWFs. That solves all problems.
-
This answer can be applied to every "add new game mode" suggestion, they can't. Queues are already too long so they can't split up the players or queues would be longer. If you had a second mode, the least popular mode would have way too few killers.
-
BBQ gives killers a reason not to tunnel (stacks) and a reason not to camp (info). Also pretty much makes killers play with a weak perk for BP.
Any survivor that thinks it should be nerfed isn't a smart survivor.
-
Survivors: "NOED takes no skill!"
Also Survivors: "I want to escape the killer by pressing E!"
-
Survivors love crutch perks, just not for killer. It's awesome when you get a free escape by pressing E, but killers should only use skill.
-
Same here, there are tons of posts about it, but they always end with "It's just your internet".
Weird how so many of us suddenly got crappy internet after playing fine for so long.
-
Why are there not higher penalties for gen rushing?
Is it because it's specifically part of the game? If survivors would attempt to safely unhook (that's a thing that used to happen sometimes), tunneling wouldn't be so easy. Survivors play stupid and killers are expected to help them not lose. Play better.
-
That's why you have to tunnel them earlier to make them use it.
-
You know, being hit on the hook doesn't actually hurt you? Strange that you think politeness should be enforced with penalties in a game where teabagging and ranting at the killer in afterchat are the norm. If you force people to be polite, they're not actually being polite, just doing what forced to do.
Does being hit on hook hurt more than being told to ######### or uninstall because you're trash? People have said those to me and weren't penalized.
Players act like ######### on the internet, it's just that simple. Laugh at how much you triggered him and move on.
-
Same here, lots of people are having this problem, everybody just want to pretend it's the ISP. It started with the last patch.
48 ping, just got dropped from my first match, while picking up the last survivor. Don't worry though, I have it on good authority that since it's not happening to everyone it's not happening.

So you want to punish someone by not playing a match by making them unable to play at all. That will probably just make them not want to play the game and play something else, losing a player. I don’t want to be punished for hook suiciding if I’m tunneled and camped right at the beginning of a match by a spirit shaking her head at me. Which happened recently. I was unable to play or even touch a gen. But sure, punish me for wanting to leave.
You could have kept her busy while your team won the game, bro, it's a couple minutes. It's really hard to camp when gens start popping, and if they killer does, your team wins. You can't hang out 2 minutes to help your team win?
As a Bubba main, I've had survivors suicide or DC because they THOUGHT I was going to camp. Sometimes I pretend I'm going to just to see if they'll immediately quit. I can get the advantage of a losing strategy without any losing, that's what you're giving camping killers.
I get that being camped isn't fun, camping isn't either, punish it instead of rewarding it. Worst case scenario, you take one for the team and get 8k bp instead of zero. It's just a couple minutes.

@Vetrathene said:
Done with this game again, I can only get a couple of days at a time before I run into a 4 man SWF on comms, its no fun, its obvious they doing it, swarming the hook all at once and timing body blocks perfectly, telling each other (cheating) where the killer is, always splitting up unless a body block is needed. Having BT, DS, Dead Hard, obvious still overpowered perks. Killers get nothing like this, and exposed dosen't trump any of these powers. There is no counter play to SWF, and survivors get to have fun with friends but killers have to be on thier own. SWF should be in ranked queue and there should be a casual queue for those who don't want to play SWF. People still get to play with thier friends and killers get to play a fair game finally.
When they swarm the hook, camp hard and slug, keep someone on that hook. Secure a kill, then another, they're often so used to being successful they'll throw the game trying to stop you. Don't be stopped.
-
Why not make it so after first hook, survivors can never be hooked again and automatically escape?
-
@Hex_Llama said:
I guess, if you were undetectable, they might honestly believe that you were camping the area around the basement and trying to trick them into thinking you left -- so that could be a misunderstanding. But it doesn't sound like that's what you were trying to do.
Doesn't matter, camping is specifically allowed in the rules.
-
I like it when survivors suicide, speeds up my 4k and ######### over their team. Same goes for quitters, I love seeing the zero on the scoreboard.
-
Preach on, Brother JimbusCrimbus!
-
I want survivors to play the game as designed without crying every time they lose.
Most survivors would be happier playing Mechanic Simulator if it had a mini-game where you bully someone. DBD is about a STRUGGLE to survive, survivors hate struggles, they want to press E to survive.
-
When survivors do well I play harder. It's called trying to win a game, I know survivors consider that unfair, I just don't care.
-
Stealth doesn't slow him down, Stalking does a lot, with GF you want to stalk by leaning, then only stalk in chase when you've 99'd someone.
-
Because when you talk, killers are supposed to be able to hear it. You're being quiet so we won't.
This is completely undermined by SWF, but that's the idea.
-
The simple fact: Trickster is a projectile killer who's projectiles are useless unless in close chase, he sucks in chase, and survivors heal automagically.
Trickster can only be fixed by addressing this.

NOED rewards bad playstyles.

Undying rewards bad playstyles.
You forgot Dead Hard, in fact you forgot all the survivor's second chance perks. No expectation of skill from survivors, but killers should play perfectly. Got it, survivor that presses E.
