Streamers aren't a gift to everyone, it's a wager. You're playing it and betting you can get most or a lot of points from it. Instead of putting a nickel into the slot machine, you're tossing in a quarter so that your winnings will be higher.
It's not a high-risk wager, there's no penalty except losing the offering, and if you're not using these offerings they're worthless.
I burn them as soon as I get them, sometimes I go against survivors that want zero interaction so they rush and leave, they get a few extra points and I get #########. I don't understand players that want to wait for a game and then get it over with as soon as possible, but that's their prerogative.
But by burning them a lot, overall I get lots of extra BP.
Anyways, stop looking at it as a gift to everyone, you're raising the bet, if you win, you get more.
-
"Killers, please fix this problem caused by us survivors."
We really can't, there are some games where I know what's going on, but in lots of them things are happening so fast I'm just attacking everyone I encounter. Sometimes we know when a survivor is being ######### on by the others, but most the time we're not seeing enough to understand.
When it comes down to it, you're supposed to be punished for a bad team, that's how it works in every game in the world. Teamwork means working together.
But we're not the ones that make solo q so awful, we constantly ######### about the same players you're bitching about. We're not going to let your team win because they play obnoxiously, that would just encourage them.
Don't complain to us, complain to SWFs or the devs.
The solution: Killers and solo qs should get a 25% BP bonus when a SWF is involved.

No. They are mad because they felt outplayed. That means their ego is huge.
I dunno, I often give a skilled survivor a smack once they're hooked, just as a way of saying "you're hard to catch".
hitting on hook is exactly as harmful as clicking or teabagging.
-
You don't have to give in to the dark side. You bought this game, play it how you want, nobody's opinion matters at all.
There are always going to be better players, sometimes the guy I want most is just better at getting away than I am at catching. So you waste a good cake, we all have.
In the big picture, you'll get points from cakes others play, it'll all work out. I burn cakes and streamers every chance I get, I often get my ass handed to me, that's part of the game.
I don't think the toxicity is good for the game or your human decency, you can kill them or escape from them instead of joining them. I kill with joy but also violence.

Have you considered... Black Friday? Y'know, as an actual holiday? The actual given reason for the blood hunt?
Coincidence, sure, but these things are planned months in advance, and since Halloween didn't have one, this makes sense too.
Black Friday makes sense on the sale aspect, but it's not a huge sale, and are you aware of ... Halloween? Seriously, if a bloodhunt was about a holiday of any kind, it would have been that one.
And you don't have to plan months in advance to add a <x2> to a variable. I know it takes them years to fix bugs, but a bloodhunt is just an on/off switch somewhere.

So I've been playing a lot of killer but I am a survivor main. After playing both I personally think that killers need a buff in their walking speed. I always watch a friend of mine play a lot and by the time they get one person a lot of times 3 gens will pop off. I think that making them faster could be a good way to cut down on looping time. Also I know what a lot of people are going to say with the gen rushing and hes not spending a crap ton of time chasing someone. It is just crazy how long a good survivor can run the killer before even getting their first hook. I think survivors have way too many options with dead hard, decisive, windows, palletes, etc. And I think that if you were to make killers walking speed faster (and I mean during a chase mainly) that they could even buff up desicive and stuff like that because killers would be able to keep up speed wise to survivors. To me it just seems like a simple thing that could help balance things for the killers.
Yeah, in the old days survivors would sometimes do this thing called "evasion" where they'd try to get away from the killer using skills other than hitting E or holding W.

survive with friends while at least one survivor streams on twitch and the other survivors watch the twitch stream while playing so they have perfect knowledge of that player's state and can coordinate really well. Similar to "survive with chat" where the survivors are on chat with each other the whole match, but even nastier because they can actually SEE what the leader is doing in addition to hearing each other.
this is a non-bannable offense, but I think it fits into the "unsportsmanlike" category. Of course, the perfect counter (at least when the twitch streamer has TTV in their username) is to also watch their stream as the killer, which is called "stream sniping", and isn't against DBD's TOS but IS against twitch's, but I don't know how aggressively they enforce that. I would imagine it would be hard for a streamer to call foul against an opponent stream sniping while simultaneously getting an advantage by inviting their teammates to stream snipe, but I don't know for sure.
The perfect counter is to facecamp the streamer.

I see what you mean about disincentivized on the webs, I did the same thing with Bubba once I got all the perks. I don't care much about his addons, so I just didn't advance his web anymore. After a couple other killers got to that point, I realized I was caring too much about getting value when I should be focused on getting fun.
The fact that you've already spent so much on non-prestiged characters is just water under the bridge. I felt that way before prestiging anyone, I had a good collection of perks and didn't want to risk them, but like you, I had nothing to work for. While it's true, you grinded and worked hard to get there, it's also true that your playing habit has caused the opposite problem. The fact that you're collecting so many makes me think it's not much of a grind for you.
-
@VikingDragonXii said:
That's not true that IS a bannable offense because it's not easy to get up there and it is abusing a glitch to gain a advantage.
According to the rules, you are correct, but reality contradicts you. Behavior doesn't even ban streaming hackers. The only ban-risk is stealing a cosmetic.
-
I appreciate your point, but I will do what I want. I'm the killer who's trying to kill you, not your butler.
"Don't go straight for the kill"
Ok, you don't go straight for the escape. Or how about If you want to teabag, do it when you're not 100% safe.
It's really easy to say "boring killer", and it's also really easy to stand on the exit, teabag and click. What about when you BM all the time, but DC as soon as you're downed? Is that exciting and with good taste? What about when you slam the gens and end the match before anyone even has a half-decent chase? You get to teabag 0N EXIT and that's what you call a good match. A reasonable person would say zero interaction is the most boring, but when survivors say "boring" they mean effective, survivors hate it when killers have a chance.
You don't want excitement, you want soft pitches because survivors avoid challenges at all costs.
The very concept of tunneling is caused by you believing THE OPPOSING PLAYER should make the game easier for you. Help you rotate who's on hook so no one is in danger. It sounds like you want the most boring game possible, but also want us to help you pretend it's exciting? Should we let you make the pallet so you can pretend you evaded us? Then you'd get that exciting teabag from safety. Must be thrilling.
Games against me are exciting, your choices matter, you fight to protect each other or you die. You unhook smart or someone dies. You make mistakes and you'll need all your second chances to get out.
And when you're teabagging on the exit, make sure you're 100% safe, because you like excitement.

Have you seen the list of changelogs every single patch? There is only so much time one person can spend on fixing bugs and there is only so many people working at BHVR who can fix bugs. Demanding all bugs to be fixed is practically impossible.
There are only a handful of glitches and gamebreaking bugs in the game right now, and those were introduced with the latest patch.
It's like people not being aware that Stab Wounds Study was changed from 3-5 seconds. It wasnt mentioned in the patch notes, but it was in the changelogs.
It's a multi-million dollar company with 800 employees. It took them a year to raise Blight's eye-level to normal.

And people wonder why killers get bitter. It's always such a baffling experience when you're ready to drop a GGWP and then a SWF goes off on you.
That said, there's no winning with these kinds of people and the best thing to do is ignore them, not keep engaging with them. They want a rise out of you and will take literally any response from you as gratification.
Yeah. Last night I went super-easy on a team. I only got a few hooks, they literally got hit within a few seconds of every chase, used no loops at all, dropped pallets as if that were the goal of the game. I honestly thought it was their very first match. Not exaggerating, it didn't even feel fun, it was like hitting seals with a club. I just eased off and let them get out.
GOLD ranked player, I'm silver at best.
Gold :GGEZ
I'm like "Sorry, thought you were new players."
Gold: NO
Me: So do you ever run a killer for multiple seconds? Ever tried looping?
Gold: YES
Gold: U MAD?
Gold: Uninstall!
Then I made fun of him, because what a ######### joke.
I used to want everyone to have fun, but almost every time I'm nice to a team I end up regretting it. I get a lot more 4Ks now.

But something like it should be. Being able to see the killer's aura is too strong for a base kit ability.
Instead I think a system that pings the killer's location for a couple of seconds, like a survivor version of killer instinct, if they're within 24 meters of a survivor and within their line-of-sight would be best. Kind of like how "Alert" works. It should probably have some sort of cool down, but testing would be needed to know for sure.
I think it should work on stealth killers too as long as they can be seen by another survivor.
Important for survivors to be able to ignore the heartbeat, red stain, killer sounds and callouts from their teammates. Why not just give survivors an active minimap that shows everything? You have a camera that allows you to magically see all around while hiding in a locker, how can we make this easier for people who really just can't be bother to play a game?
I know, let's remove all killers from the game and just call if Generator Simulator! GenSim has a nice ring to it.
Meg: "Whatareya going to do today Bill?"
Bill: "Gonna play some GenSim, it's a great game except I still have to FIND a gen sometimes.
Devs: "Here's a perk that shows the auras of gens, if you don't like doing gens, we also have a new boon totem that will do the gens for you.,"
Steve: <teabags and cicks at Bill, Meg, the Devs and a random generator>

Too strong of a perk that requires nothing from the killer to use it, and almost no way for the survivors to know the killer has it unless they specifically have object of obsession or distortion
What if it was something like this instead
Every time you hook a survivor for the first time, or a generator is complete gain a token, you can press the active ability button to consume a token and see all survivors auras for 4 seconds, this effect has a map wide terror radius while you are using it this effect has a cooldown of 40/35/30 seconds
Limited uses that are survivor and killer dependent, a cooldown to prevent using it back to back, its a strong effect so survivors know when you are using it
Or just make it work like object, everytime you look at a survivors aura, they see yours.

Yep I had a game like that last night as well. Literally only just got the Trickster, and must have got value out of Starstruck about 5x across 3 games, one of which resulted in a double slug.
It just gets to a point where you get the toxic ones who are also good at the game, that's when it stops being fun.
Usually the ones who go down like that end up DC'ing or are suspiciously absent from the post game lobby.
DC is the ultimate submission. They're too ashamed to let it play out, so they're giving up all their BP. They like to pretend they think it's hurting the killer, but that's just to help them feel less humiliated.

That is the thing though, they don't have to necessarily be good to taunt. Slap on a Haddonfield or the Game offering, find the nearest safe pallet, drop it, and away you go, shake that booty. Doesn't take much skill to just run to the next loop and drop more tea bags.
Or just play in SWF, use a bit of communication and common sense, and you can escape most games and teabag at the gate.
If you got a 15 kill streak against me and my team on Halo, teabagging all the while, then you have my respect, and you earned that teabag.
Oh you're right, I'm not saying they have the skill to deal with me in hardcore mode, I'm saying that if they taunt me, I kill them as if they do. I slugged 3 of them right after posting this thread, they just kept piling on despite my Starstruck. It happened so fast I went looking for the last survivor, but they were all in my pile by the hook. One of the shortest trials I've ever played, they were stupid, helpless babies.
They would have all escaped, but they decided baby nurse killing them all really fast would be more fun.

It's not actually that cool, the other 3 will just do gens while you chase someone with like 80% speed.
Is my paycheck going to be docked?
I grind, my reward for winning is being at an MMR where everyone brings the meta, 3 to 4 second chance perks each, at least one object calling out my every move, covers the map in boon totems, heals in 4-8 seconds, BNP toolboxes...
If fun is had, I don't care who wins at all. It's a ten minute game.

I feel your pain.
There are some people who will teabag in the exit gates and call you a scrub in postgame after you gave them gate after a DC.
Just...have to remember that these are almost certainly very unhappy people who don't really have an outlet other than being jerks to anonymous strangers online.
Probably why they rage and cry all the time.
To be honest I kind of like it. I go easy on less-experienced players, but if a survivor is good enough to put effort into taunting, I assume they can deal with camping and tunneling. My favorite part of this game, killing people who wanted to make me mad.
My concern here is the levels survivors will go to make a player give up this game. New players shouldn't have to deal with that. Four people in afterchat berating a new player, maybe a kid.
I like the aggression, I think hating the people I'm killing makes it better. I like it when survivors are so dedicated to being ######### that they'll lose a game over it. Bubba will oblige.

There are no jukes. She is always on the horizon. You cannot stop to do bones. Do a gen. Heal a teammate. She walks towards you at all times.
You cannot run. The exit gates cannot open because you can't do a gen.

Losing a game last minute because of a cheap perk isn’t fun
Did it ever occur to you to leave? You don't get to save everyone, if that makes the game unplayable, unplay it. Opening the gate and leaving is the easiest part of the game.

Don't sweat it, I've been playing for years and don't feel any anxiety about this game. I'm the guy that tells other killers how to not get stressed.
One of the secrets is just doing your own thing sometimes. Also get revenge whenever possible.
But seriously, I'm more concerned about survivors treating new players this way. Embarrassing.

Please don't make big thing out of this because i assure you it's not, not even close, they've seen how players keep praising VHS and they got scared, that's all.
Don't worry, it's really hard to forget bugs from the past because they're mostly still there.

Survivor: cries constantly, after every match, sometimes even when they win. Makes up their own rules and cries when a killer plays to win.
Killer: would like the devs to stop shitting on them.
Survivor: stop crying! Quit if this game is too hard for you!

Have you ever even played killer?

MMR won't bother you unless you play a lot. Killers reach high MMR too easily. Over the weekend I P3'd Nemesis from scratch. The game now considers me one of THE BEST KILLERS PLAYING. Seriously, none of you are so good you can't get matched with me, my 600 hours is equal to your thousands. Otz is my peer, according to MMR. We might collab.
Yesterday I lost more than I've ever lost before, every match was neon survivors with brand new parts, meta perks and healing totems. I fought all-Bills with toolboxes, I fought all-Steves with high-end flashlights, I fought so many Neas and Megs, SWFs were everywhere. I fought a team that used exploits on Dead Dog, who acted like it was a great accomplishment to cheat against a player that probably couldn't catch them anyway. Actually, every survivor acted that way. Cheering after they dunk on me like the ######### survivors are.
I got some kills, but it wasn't because of my skill, it was because of their mistakes. Apparently enough to keep me in the same weight class with the BEST PLAYERS IN THE GAME. Because that's where DBD places me, alongside and against THE BEST PLAYERS IN DBD!
Guess I'll try to figure out how to start streaming, start some channels and #########. Be sure to like and subscribe, I'm one of the BEST KILLLERS IN THE GAME.
-
Recognize that people like that are limp-dick crybabies. They want you to play gently with them because you hurt their widdle feewings. Mommy never taught them about sportsmanship because she didn't love them enough.
You'll never get approval from #########, and you shouldn't seek it. Kill them however you want, if they don't like the game, they can quit.
Survivors are not your peers, killers are.
-
I got hit with a flashbang yesterday, so they work sometimes.

Once you get that 24 hour ban, you don't immediately get a clean state, try again right after your ban and you'll get smacked with 6 hours. I had to take week-long breaks from trying to figure out the problem. (This was back when everyone just blamed the player's connection.)

Strawman. Playing with friends is fine when a game is balanced for it. The issue is with the devs and their silence on the issue, not people wanting to have fun/ be sweat lords.
Buff solo and then buff killers and there would be no issues.
Dead by Daylight ISN'T balanced for SWF, so this post isn't a strawman. Think about what you're saying.
-
The one thing survivors and killers agree on, survivors are awful people.
In seriousness, this is what happens when one group has the attitude "We can do anything we want, we can jump on every glitch, exploit every bug, but it's wrong for killers to camp."

-
You're missing one aspect of the big picture.
When the game starts, survivors are at their most powerful. They have a full, healthy team, they have all their gear and abilities. Killers gain power throughout the match, while survivors lose it.
Its normal for them to come out of the gates strong, you haven't had a chance to hurt them yet. By the time the game is down to a couple gens, at least one of them should be dead. Some should be injured. Some have been hooked so they're closer to death. This is when a killer pulls ahead.

I mean..just because it's allowed doesn't mean it isn't an issue...why do you think perks and other powers were reworked or changed. 🤔
Changing perks happen often, changing rules is completely different. Players have free will. Notice I said "players" not just survivors.
What rules do you think should take away the free will of survivors? When should survivors be forced to play the way killers want?
BOTH sides are allowed to do anything they want except cheat. Again, not just survivors, also killers.

Yeah I had a Bubba bring a cake yesterday and then legit facecamped everyone. A couple of us had BT so we tried to make saves but it's kinda bullshit even with that perk he can mow both people down. Not sure why people do that. I guess they're immature and they think ruining the game for that one person is funny?
If you don't like everyone being facecamped, you could actually counterplay by doing gens.
What kind of godawful team just takes turns dying? Try to do some game objectives, you're making a flawed strategy work. It's your choice, play against it or encourage it, you are encouraging it. Play against the killer instead of expecting the killer to do your bidding. We don't work for you, we're the opposition.
Facecamping is a bad strategy, it only works when survivors have no strategy.
-
Because it's not an issue, ITS SPECIFICALLY ALLOWED IN THE RULES.
If you don't like the rules, that's your problem. Devs barely address actual issues, they're never going to address issues that aren't issues.
-
You wanted to play that game where it's 4v1, but the 4 all kill the one. You'll fit right in with the other survivors that spend all their time crying.
