Then don't tunnel & you won't need to eat DS.
it's funny, because you say that like it's true.
So I guess when a survivor with DS gets unhooked, I should just take a break while they try to bodyblock every thing I do?
-
Make Hex totems rebuildable like Boon totems, or make boon totems breakable.
-
Marvin's Blood: "Too many Nemesis players are using it, must be OP, we must NERF!"
Dead Hard: "..."
Because it's rare a survivor can play without it.

That's also not quite how skill works, longer play time dont always mean more skill.
The old emblem system was better, issue is they tweak it and made it easier (less of a reset etc.) And that's when it started getting worse. All they had to do was cap altruism at gold, hatch escapes give silver and have the monthly reset a set about (going from rank 4 to 5 was a bad design)
Yeah, I should have said the old emblem system, that was what I wanted to express.
And I'm not misunderstanding what skill is, but the skill of a player that plays 20 hours a week is usually way higher than of a player that plays 3 hours a week. Not always, but skill is related to practice. If they're ranking up while doing so, it seems like the best measure of who should be matched.
-
A simple way of looking at it, regardless of how a game goes, the killer is responsible for every successful action of his team. A survivor might go well over accomplishing 1/4 of his team's successes, but he can't be responsible for all the team's success unless they all DC right away.
The survivor team can be awarded far more than the killer team, but they have to share them.
-
Seems to me basing it on rankings is the obvious choice. People say "rank doesn't mean anything but how much you've been playing the game!" Yeah. People who play the game all the time should be playing against people who play it all the time.

Oh I’m stupid then. Still hate rancor though because it’s essentially a free kill in end game if the killer plays it right
I always forget I have it, and I'm not really good enough to pick who I'm going after in endgame. But it's funny because sometimes the obsession will just DC when they realize I brought it.
-
It's funny you say that, but I main Bubba but I'm more likely to camp with Nemesis.
I don't see why tunneling is being mentioned, Bubba doesn't tunnel any better than other killers. Every hit is a one-shot when a survivor is wounded. Just trying to spread Bubba hate.
-
Survivors are #########, that's why it's fun to kill them.

The whole point of hexes is that they're a gamble for strong effects. Making them guaranteed for a certain amount of time would lead to some pretty negative consequences. They're strong at the neglect of survivors and changing that would throw off their balance.
Meanwhile, survivors get boon totems. What is this balance you speak of?

...Why would they give out compensation for killswitching something?
Doesn't matter, BP makes me happy.
When I drift away from playing, grabbing a reward or entering a code makes me log back on, which usually gets me in a trial or two, then I'm back playing. Both DBD and BHVR benefit from having more players playing, Steam charts help sell the game. More players benefit us all in many ways.
It's free for them, benefits everyone. There's no downside. Please don't question free BP ever again.

What happens is someone with high MMR sees the 4 man SWF and dodges the lobby because who can blame then. After a killer leaves a lobby the game will put ANY MMR into that lobby so the SWF doesn't have to wait. This includes killers who might literally be playing their first match ever. Also congrats on the 4k, a good killer can easily kill non sweaty SWFs even without perks. Just because they have all level 3 perks doesn't mean they are good. I play against my GF and her SWF in KYF and even when they run the most meta builds I still stomp on them as legion with no perks or addons. A lot of SWFs are a lot more casual than you think.
I've been dodging lots of lobbies lately, seems like the game keeps trying to match me with awful ping matches. I'm getting 60, then next match 140? I dodge and get 60 again, why didn't I get it in the first place?
If this is happening to lots of players, it might explain why MMR seems so bad. Maybe most bad matches are backfill rather than MMR, but it's happening more often than expected?

What makes a competition "real"? What made HSH : Survive not real competition? What made Last Year not real competition? What made F13 not real competition, it existed with content for a year and did not kill DBD. VHS seems to be the best one yet but there is already a lack of monster players and a lot of people complain monster is not very fun.
DBD is just generally better designed than all of them.
Yeah. For all it's problems, it's a great game. All the bugs, valid player complaints, obnoxious things the devs say, none of these are enough to make us stop playing. It's a great ######### game.

That is hardly the same thing. Body blocking you into a corner is reportable and can be taking the game hostage
Stopping someone temporarily is not holding the game hostage. Even if you're actually holding them hostage, it's still not holding the game hostage. The two of you are not the game, you're just two players in the game. When the killer shows up, the body blocking will end.
They can be reported if they're doing it to help the killer, but not for holding the game hostage. Also reporting people does nothing.

i love those killers because they go absolutely nuts when i give them what they deserve
the posts here show how absolutely no one cares about others having fun anyway
Can you give an example of survivors doing anything differently to help a killer have fun? It's a ridiculous idea.
But killers should feel obligated.
-
Hell no they won't stop doing tomes, playing without doing challenges is boring as #########.
-
I usually bring lightbourne, makes me feel powerful to not stare at a wall while picking up.
For me, a last minute switch means survivors want to play dirty, it means I should camp and tunnel hard. I oblige.

The devs don't like facecamping and consider it an issue to address. Similarly, they want to make solo queue more bearable and shrink the difference in escape rates.
The system obviously can't be built around known and acknowledged flaws in the game, because then it would have to be rebuilt once those flaws are fixed. Everything the devs have said about the MMR system is more or less correct, people just don't like hearing it.
...Though I found the hockey analogy a little bit clumsy. Still, what he was getting at with it was sound.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2807396#Comment_2807396
See above.
The devs are fine with facecamping, they've said it over and over. Giving survivors ways to deal with it isn't the same as "we don't like it".

You don't want to just use the cage every time, it's better to wait until second hook or save it for an execution, especially if the team is avoiding. Going for cages that much takes away your strategic choices.

I used to run it with sloppy, it was fun for a while.

Holy #########, I've never seen anyone make a suggestion that was fair for both sides. I dig it.

It WILL change, as long as we as a community make the devs understand it's something important to fix RIGHT NOW
HAha.
Oh wait, were you serious?
-
Wounding survivors doesn't slow them down much anymore, if you M1 and they get away, you just wasted all your time because they'll be healed in a few milliseconds.
Bubba puts them down with one hit, it's the best counter to COH.
-
Why not eliminate all strategy from the game and just make it a coin toss after loading?
-
Sure it's possible to get approval for anything in a license, but usually the agreement is that the character will be represented authentically, the way he appeared originally. Getting approval for a gimmick skin is up to the license owners, and Leatherface's agreement was written long before Blight existed.
A big fear in licensing is "diluting" the character. Bubba's only value is that he's scary. The owner might choose to allow no changes just to avoid anything goofy. A jizz-covered Demo, for example.

i hope this is a joke 🤣 the urban evader did nothing for most of the game hiding, hardly touched a gen. I looped the killer for the length of time for the other 2 survivors to do gens which is contributing. If you honestly think that it makes them a better player because they hid the entire game and escaped while i took the chase then i'm lost for words.
He's quoting a Dev. On the last Q&A the lead said the only measure of skill was kills/escapes. If you were more skilled, you'd have escaped, the Evader DID escape so they're a more skilled player. The killer killed you, so they are also more skilled than you are. Sorry about your lack of skills.
-
No, it's actually lots of fun when done correctly. Brings all the survivors over for a fight at the hook. That's lots of fun.
If you succeed, you end up with a pile of survivors, if you fail, you give them the awesome feeling of overcoming an evil killer. If you don't like that strategy, hit the gens and punish it.
Now jump out there and abuse Boil Over like every other survivor. Ruining a killer's game is fun, right?

You don't buff Killer stuff to overpowered levels to counteract the overpowered stuff Survivors have, you just nerf the overpowered stuff Survivors have
Who are you claiming does that? Behavior?
Are you drunk?

I always say this when this sort of thing comes up but you're better off spending your shard/cash on killers you actually enjoy playing than worrying about their perks. You'll get way more bang for your buck playing a killer you like than buying a killer you don't like playing but who has a perk that if you spend a ton of time leveling them up you might be able to use on another killer at some point if it shows up in their bloodweb.
Every time I break down and level up a killer for an unlockable, it shows up in the shrine the following week. Every. Time.

If a killer wants to throw a match by douching around, it's allowed. Don't like free will? Don't play multiplayer games.
Or do, and then cry constantly like a crying crybaby. It's a ######### game.

Was it always meta? I don't think it was. Words have meanings.
-
What a charmed life you must lead, where you think being put out of a game is the worst feeling in the world. Are you 12 yet?
Oh God, the horror of it! You didn't win this game and it doesn't matter in any way! How do you go on, delicate flower? You must be overcome with grief, you wanted the game to go a certain way and it didn't. How will you go on after this great and overwhelming loss?
You lost all faith in humanity because a killer decided to play A GAME the way they wanted? Maybe you're too weak to play this game, or any game.
-
That's why killers SHOULD be blocking the hooks.

That moment when players are trying to fix game for them :D
Sadly DBD is not an open-source where you could just do pull-requests.
At least Bethesda lets modders fix their games.
-
Takes skill, survivors don't like learning skills, they like killer nerfs.
-
I've gotten some lag since the update, first time in a while (except for RPD which can barely load during a chase).
-
If you bring Boil Over, you either bleed out or you get facecamped. I don't have time to spend the whole match fighting to get a hook, you ######### up my game, enjoy some turnabout.
If you don't like it, cry in the forums.
-
Yes survivors, play killer.
-
How can survivors enjoy slamming gens and escaping? Don't they get bored of not interacting with the killer until they're at the exit?
Tunneling isn't that big a commitment, you see a guy that was just hooked and now he's healing under the hook like an idiot, you chase him. How do you think that's not fun?
What you mean is, you need the game to be easier because you're a crybaby. What do you do in-game to make the game more fun for killers? I'll wait.
-
That would be counterplay, only survivors are allowed to do that.
-
Sure, lets bend over backwards to help survivors cheat.
-
I like to get all riled up reading survivor rants before I go a'killing. I'm too nice to be effective without a little fuel.
-
The game is already easy for survivors, you're making it easier. It's not your job to rotate them on hooks so they don't die, that's their objective, you should counterplay. You don't see survivors slowing down their game to help you, because that's not a thing.
You can't expect to win when you're helping them win. You don't have to pick one or the other, sometimes I'm casually grinding and sometimes I play to kill, but when I play casual I don't get frustrated when I don't win. If you choose to go easy, that's your choice.
At the same time, I get it. I have a thousand mori's because I didn't think they were fair in their older form. I chose to play less efficiently because that made me happy. You do you, but adjust your expectations. As you get better, your opponents will too.
Most important of all, don't give a F. It's fun to chase people and hit them with things, focus on the fun.
-
Doc with distressing is my moneymaker. Increases the range of your static blast and gives you extra points. You should be getting multiple targets with each blast, discordance can help with this. BP out the wazoo, even if you lose.
Always run BBQ unless you're not expecting to hook much.
Generally, you can make good BP with most killers by using their power. 200 for an M1, 600 for a Demo shred or chainsaw hit. Legion gets points just for running. Use them powers.
-
Bubba don't need addons.

The answer to all questions:
