Killer: I camped because of gen rush (With 4 gens left, yes this happened because 3 people sat on a gen and completed it but there was still 4 left against a GF)
Survivor: You're a tunneler that's how you won (Meanwhile Make your Choice went off every time)

Lol talking like you get optimal survivors in every game. Half of games are swf, so that's blown your crybaby nonesense out the water. So, with the remaining 50% who are swf, we will split into 3 groups, 2man, 3man and 4man. We will give them equal share (unless someone has data) 17% (rounded) of the 17% of 4man swf, you seriously trying to say that they're all survivor fiends that play to gen rush only? Because that's a fat no! It's my experience that even 4man swf are ๐ฅ too, I would easily say that 90% of my games end in an easy 4k, leaving 1.7% of players that fit anywhere between 3k and 4 man escape, or attempted gen rush. That's a tiny amount of games.
So yeah Git Gud. Stop tunnelling and camping. Anticipate their move. Mind game. Run non meta perks. Or, you know, play survivor, see how easy it is ๐
1.7% of players play optimally and gen rush? I'd like to see this data because you can watch streamers on Twitch get hammered by SWFs and people watch their highlights and say they stomp people but if you actually watch them live you see sometimes the steamer getting stomped.
If you have a good enough PC I'd like to see some footage of you playing in multiple games at rank 1 because it's easy to escape in 90% of survivors games but to 4k in 90% of your matches? Yeah probably against people with under 100 hours but nowhere near people with 500+ unless you pull out a bunch of stupid addons.
Again tell me how you pressure 4 survivors as the Clown on Wretched Shop when they all run to the structure. You getting a 4k in 90% of your games is not telling me how to do it and from experience most people who claim to 4k easily at rank 1 with no issues never post any evidence.
Oh and there is no need to call me a cry baby when I've put effort in my post and not did a one liner "Git gud". If you're going to call everyone who disagrees that killer is too easy a cry baby then leave this forum because I want civil discussions with people, I don't want to reply to people who will throw a tantrum like a toddler if someone doesn't agree with their post.

Buff Thana sounds better. Gens are fine.
I agree that the debuff Thana gives is trash and doesn't stop survivors chugging through gens
@Chrisko said:
It all comes down to map pressure.
Ah yes apply pressure to 4 people as Clown, care to share your secret? You can only chase 1 survivor at a time, 4 survivors separated on generators, how do you pressure it?
"Just drop the chase" doesn't work because you still spend time chasing, which means others survivors working on gens, then you need to find a new victim, which means others are still working on gens meanwhile the survivor you dropped chase on is now on a gen, and then you need to chase the new victim.
Why do you think it's common for 3 gens to pop in a single chase against optimal survivors? It's simple, too many killers cannot apply pressure. Arguably Hag is the only killer who can be in multiple places at once, if they have the correct trap placement, and pressure all survivors.

The new Ruin is way better than the older ruin.
As a Clown main, I may start using the new Ruin (I rarely use Ruin, as I know how to apply extreme pressure on Clown without Ruin) for some added pressure.
I wouldn't say it's better when it can be destroyed within 30 seconds. The concept is better but it being a Hex perk isn't. I know I know it will be "too strong" if it's not a Hex but at the moment it's not powerful enough to be a Hex in my opinion

Yeah, I agree. I also know that some people say they lost because Ruin was gone early which is like... Meh. When they get Gens done fast, the Killer is not putting enough pressure (which is not possible sometimes, but thats a map problem and has nothing to do with Ruin.)

I guess thats more of an Plague Issue. I faced a Plague yesterday with Ruin, Thana, PGTW and Corrupt and I was about to vomit (no pun intended), because 4 Slowdown Perks is just lame and boring.
Yeah 4 slow down perks are boring but what else can you do? If all of the maps were balanced there wouldn't need to be 4 slow down perks and it's a gamble if you need them or not. My build was overkill because I was on Gas Haven which isn't too bad of a map but if I got another map like Wretched shop or something then my build would have been justified due to the strong structure.
Sometimes you just can't chance having a relaxing build because unless you burn map offerings you have no idea what map you will get and if it will be in your favor, not bad or survivor sided.

Actually this thread makes no sense and it has nothing to do with Ruin or Corrupt Intervention, just random DCs of salty survivors.
I mean when they specifically say to me that I played like a try hard for running that build it kind of means that they DCed due to that reason. You know it's bad when the other 2 survivors were defending me about that BS that they came out with.

My first game without ruin resulted in 2 DCs for using Corrupt Intervention, Thana and Dying light on Plague >.>

The only real barrier besides the actual console manufacturers (Sony is notorious for denying cross play...or is it Nintendo? I don't remember), would be framerate.
The game itself, survivors playing on a controller are at no disadvantage when compared with mouse/keyboard survivors. They can literally do all the same stuff (aside from pointless things like moonwalking) at the same pace and speed. Which in turn makes it so console killers lives wouldn't change much beyond what they already deal with. That's one thing I commend BHVR on. They definitely created something where crossplay, balance wise, is more than workable.
The issue is the framerate. Most PC players are running at at LEAST 60FPS. As far as I have seen in my own experience on my PS4 Pro, DBD on consoles has a hard time maintaining even 30fps. Framerate differential is a huge issue.
I agree but to be honest if BHVR did give the option to enable cross-play it wouldn't be too much of a big issue. Sometimes I just want to play a couple of games before work but due to queue times I find it difficult to play more than 1 without risking running late for work.
If people just want to have quick matches and they have the option to play against PC players then it would be cool if they had it. For the people who don't want it enabled due to the disadvantages, which there are 100%, then they can simply disable cross-play.
I know Call of Duty MW has the option for you to choose if you want to play against platform only people or against every other platform
-
Not sure if we're allowed to mention other games but Identity V (Feel free to remove the name if not, sorry!) apparently has something similar and at the start of the game the machines (if they are called that) are slower to help the killer gain momentum. I don't play that game and I've only stated what I've heard so if you play that game and I'm wrong, feel free to roast me.

This will be fixed. There's a 0.25 sec extra delay before the Shock Therapy hits that is a bug. It's supposed to be 1 sec, but it's 1.25.
The 3 sec delay before you can hit someone after a Shock Therapy is also too long, and will be reduced. Not sure to what yet, but you're definitely right about those.
Great to hear that the doc will be slightly adjusted but why does he have a 1 second delay before the survivors get shocked? It feels awkward and doesn't seem right. If we have a x cooldown before being able to attack, is the shock delay really necessary?

Yes, I believe it was @ScottJund that said this,
The Ruin change was not bad but it was introduced a bit early. It could have probably better suited a huge map rework update and a change to the map rng.
I should watch Scott's vid about this all I've seen is Paulie's (if that is how you spell it), King's, Space and ardetha's opinions on it. Personally I've tried it but couldn't get results to if it really did help you to keep up pressure because it either got cleansed too quickly or survivors DCed which skewed my personal data.
Queue times can be a nightmare too so I don't typically spend too long on the PTB

Thank you, it's nice to find like minded people who can have conversations with each other devout of salt.
I honestly think a lot of people have overreacted, and my own experience + what I have been seeing from streamers seems to pretty much serve as proof that it isn't terrible.
I like the concept of the new ruin but the execution of it was poor. I know it might not be the devs intentions but their post did seem really biased but that's just the wording. Deep down I know they never intended to come off like that.
Secondly this change was completely out of the blue and took people by surprise. It's not common to find posts saying how overpowered ruin was and it wasn't a necessary nerf when other perks are complained about a whole lot more.
A good time to change ruin is when more maps are reworked because to be honest gen times are not an issue it's the design of some of the maps and once that is fixed no more bloodlust, ruin can be changed and perhaps bamboozle could be slightly tweaked because it wouldn't be a band-aid anymore.

Both sides have fits, don't you remember the review bomb when Freddy was initially released? You can check the forums for when MoM first got nerfed or when they buffed a killer or even the Balanced landing change for that matter. Both sides complain and both sides have fits but if you create a genuine thread with valid complaints I wont call it crying.
The only time I call it crying is when it's a one-liner saying "Devs are X biased" or "Devs cater towards X side" or just generally put no effort into their thread.

It's a worse play to stand at the locker and wait.
If they go back to the gen just smack them and pick them up.
Honestly I guess it depends on the killer too. If you're playing Billy just eat the DS and chainsaw somewhere else.
Or if you're playing Nurse just blink to the survivor and smack them. The Stun is irrelevant for killers like them. Hell even Huntress wouldn't be affected much because she has hatchets she can throw. Though it's a LOS ability.
First of all I'd like to thank you for having an actual discussion without using the "you're x main". I really appreciate it and wish more people were like you.
Back onto the topic though, yes it is very dependable on the killer. If the killer has a chase power then eating the DS is not a big deal but a killer that has not much going for them in a chase will be hurt badly. It's somewhat map dependent too with tiles because maps like Wretched Shop is awful to go against and with DS being a 5 second stun you more than likely will have enough time to reach the broken structure which will waste more time.
An issue I have with smacking them if they go back to the gen is it will be a cat and mouse game. I chase them off and they hop into a locker so I move away, they jump out and run back to the gen so I go back to pressure them off the gen but then they just run back to the locker. It's still an issue and you need to eat the stun to deactivate it which isn't a valid counter.
I'm not going to say DS should be deactivated if another survivor is hooked but it should be deactivated if:
1) Survivors interact with gens: This is because if they interact with gen which is their objective, they cannot complain about tunneling because the killer is supposed to stop them. If they interact with a gen they are making themselves a high priority target.
2) Perform an unhook: If they perform an unhook they cannot complain about being tunneled because they made themselves a high priority target and it's not typically fair if the killer could be hit with DS against the rescued survivor and the unhooker.

So counter this play then? You're not exactly forced to make the decision to grab a survivor with DS out of a locker. If you can't slug him to the ground before he makes it there just eat the DS, it will waste more of your time for you to stand in front of the locker and wait.
My opinion on it, eat the DS, and do not get baited into a chase, that's playing how the survivor wants you to play. Catch him doing a Gen later and he doesnt have DS.
I personally try to eat DS as early as possible into the game to avoid clutch plays later game.
But that's the problem though, right? Eating DS isn't countering DS and it's punishing the killer for the bad plays they made. Don't get me wrong we need an anti-tunnel perk and DS is perfect only if they added deactivation requirements.
Honestly if we need to eat DS to counter it, please please please bring the old DS back. I'd rather eat it at the start of the match with a reduced stun time due to Enduring.
"You are not forced to grab a survivor out of the locker"
I'm sorry but you're saying they deserve to repair the gen in your face and the killer needs to leave so they can hop back onto the gen or they need to be punished by eating the stun? Not really fair at all.
-
@Aura_babyy said:
Wait, you're contradicting yourself.
You're talking about Survivors being cocky and doing generators in front of you a minute after being unhooked... When DS lasts only 50 seconds max.
Idk man I think you should study what the perk is for and how it's application is before you make a nerf it post.
Also, comparing a nerf to this to the Ruin nerf is not a good argument. They are entirely 2 different perks with purposes that do not overlap with each other. Additionally, DS is the the best anti tunnel option a survivor has. Tunneling and camping is very common in this game, it happens about the same rate as Killers ran Ruin in a game.
Either go chase someone else or eat the DS so you dont have to worry about it later.
People are not comparing it to ruin in the way that you think, devs nerfed ruin because it was "annoying" to go against so practically they are saying DS is annoying to go against when you get hit with it without tunneling you get hit with it because the survivor makes a dumb play.
Do you want to know what else is annoying? Getting hit with DS because survivors with it repair gens in your face and then hop into a locker. Eating the DS isn't a counter and wastes time which is crucial to killer.

I mean if Streamers who play killer are getting that frustrated isn't that a problem?

Can we not come to conclusions not even a day after PTB is released? They said the Ruin was fine and not gonna have a change a few hours after PTB was live, so they were mostly based on their internal testing and the complaints in the forums was something that always happened after meta perks like DS had gotten nerfed anyways.
Now that they saw the actual outrage, when the PTB shows how the killer performance actually is with the Ruin changes, they can balance it accordingly. If its something different than the tests they have done, and it will most likely be, they will likely do something about it.
Here is the problem, they let MoM go live and yes it was nerfed it still was delayed. Ruin isn't a nerf, it's a whole new perk. Do you really think BHVR will revert it? There isn't even a section for ruin feedback on the survey so I think they decision is set in stone.

Don't wanna get looped with vaults? Bring bamboozle. Don't wanna get looped with pallets? There's a limited number of them on the map + bring brutal strength. Once there's 2 or 1 gens left to do it will be harder for survivors to do gens because your patrol route will be shorter, which will apply enough pressure to chase survivors and get those hooks. By the time there's 2 gens left, there should be minimal pallets left on the map for survivors to use.
Oh man but remember when the killers told survivors to use Iron will if they don't like going against Spirit? They were flamed saying why should they bring a perk when it might not even be against a Spirit?
Oh the irony, I hate it when people say to killers "just use X perk to counter" (bandaid) but when the killers tell survivors to use perks to counter they are just met with "You can't use a perk to counter an issue LUL"

If people are holding m1 on gens and escaping easily like that then does that not mean there is something wrong with the skill of the killer?
There have been many games for me where the killer kills the team with ease. Just because you don't get quick fast and easy games doesn't mean other killer don't.

This isn't a smurf. It's my only account and I put these posts because killers keep moaning about the devs for making good choices
Just going to copy and paste my reply to you which I've made on one of your many threads.
How do you pressure 4 survivors as a killer with little to no mobility or gen tools? If multiple survivors are on a gen and you chase them off, one by one they will just go back onto the gen when you chase a survivor. You drop the chase and the survivor you dropped chase on goes back onto the gen meanwhile the other 3 scatter.
If survivors are playing efficiently how can you be in 4 places at once pressuring gens? You go to gen 1 and chase that survivor and drop chase, go to gen 2 to get that survivor off meanwhile gen 3 has been completed and gen 1 is being worked on again. The difficulty of this largely depends on the size of the map and how spread out the survivors are.
Why do you think so many killers tunnel? It's WAY easier to juggle between 3 people and with this ruin change slugging is going to become even more meta and I expect to see more NOED users (fun \s)

I'm sorry but you're coming off as a huge hypocrite. I'm trying to hold myself back on replying to you but your posts could come off way better without the whole "your a killer main" or "all killer mains are cry babies". That's not exactly fair now isn't it? I'm disappointed in the change but I'll give it a try and see how it goes but I can already see that I'll become a survivor main if I do decide I want to play DbD.
-
I've already slowly stopped playing this game and I'm having way more fun playing different games. Although I do play both sides I've been turning more into a survivor main when I have been playing due to how stressful killer is.
When I've come home from work and want to play DbD I just open a twitch stream and still escape way too much as survivor. If I open a twitch stream as killer then I'd lose. Survivor is a walk in the park compared to killer so I'm just going to play that role more.

Adrenaline: Don't let them finish the last gen. And if you fail at that, they deserve the heal and sprint burst.
SWF: Deal with it, you can't nerf people playing with their friends.
No nerfs needed.
But it's frustrating for new killers so it needs to be nerfed, right? That was the motivation for the nerfs in the new patch! \s
In all seriousness though, DS isn't an anti-tunnel perk it's just a 60 second immunity. I've lost count how many times I was hit with DS and thought to myself "What? It hasn't been 60 seconds already when I've hooked another survivor" but I guess I've tunneled right?
Or how about survivors body blocking when I'm carrying a survivor so I down the bodyblocker and the survivor wiggles out. I pick up the only person I've downed and get hit with DS, guess I've tunneled right?
BT isn't a problem for me so I have no comments.
Adrenaline: I feel like it's a slap in the face when I win a chase and inevitably the last gen pops just removing all of my work. Unless the survivors are complete potato, the last gen will get done if you chase a survivor and with the amount of atrocious loops it's not really too difficult for the survivor to prolong the killer long enough to finish the last gen unless of course it's on 0%.

-
Spot the rank 20!

I completely agree although be prepared for a lot of people just saying:
1) Don't tunnel: Which yes DS can certainly aid with tunneling but some people need to realize that DS isn't purely an anti-tunnel perk and quite a lot of times killers are hit with it because survivors with 60 seconds of immunity make dumb plays which isn't tunneling at all. New players having to deal with this would be a nightmare.
2) Adrenaline rewards survivors for completing their objective: True and false. You could not touch a single gen all game and still get rewarded and for what? Being annoying following the killer or being super aggressive? Or even better when the killer closes the hatch, you've failed to do gens and failed to find hatch but still get rewarded with Adrenaline. New players will be hurt by this because optimal SWF groups take advantage of Adrenaline to just bully killers sometimes.
Although I do see why BHVR did this which is great to bring in new players you can't just focus on making the survivors fun better, you need to realize there is a person playing killer too. You need to aid both sides and not solely one side.

What? Survivors aren't supposed to do objectives now? Do you know what context is?
What? Killers aren't supposed to do their objectives now? Do you know they are supposed to stop gens from being completed and kill survivors?
If a survivor works on the objective, they are NOT being tunneled so if the killer defends their objective why should they be punished?
-
@gamerscrybecauseofme said:
Yes, if the killer is coming back to the hook anyway.

If a survivor works on their objective and is found by the killer then that is their fault for making themselves a high priority target. If a survivor chooses to work on a gen in front of the killer then they cannot complain about being tunneled.

Although I hate the killer versus survivor mentality on this forum the only time I get truly annoyed is when survivors use second chance perks or mistake erases but the moment the killer uses somewhat of a second chance (NOED) they are slaughtered for it.
Like why can survivors use DH to erase their mistake or to make up for distance they shouldn't have gotten, sometimes denying the killer of a down but the moment the killer uses a perk like NOED for a second chance they are just insulted, laughed upon or is a baby killer.
This goes for both sides, I hate it when killers use NOED and then moan that a survivor used DH, BT, etc. Like if people use second chance perks then don't hate on the opponents for using them too.
-
Fix maps so loops are not too strong and remove Bloodlust and boom good patch
-
Although I disagree that gen times are a problem and it's the maps I don't see how your post is directed to killers. Although killers have ways to slow down games they are completely made redundant when survivors brings in things to speed up gen completion time.
Again GEN TIMES ARE NOT THE PROBLEM it's map designs and atrocious structures (Wretched Shop, Iron works, etc) that prolong the chase for that long that is isn't even worth trying which then another problem arises when all 4 survivors are smart and abuse it forcing you to chase them through it.
-
What? People insult each other no matter what if they have that kind of attitude. If you completely destroy a team you're still insulted lmao
-
Merry Christmas!
-
Although I don't think DS is an anti-tunnel perk because so many times in my matches the user with DS active MAKES themselves a high priority target by working on a gen or going for a save and then according to the perk and survivors I tunneled.
If they started to work on their main objective for at least 10 seconds then I haven't tunneled. Anyway without going too much off-topic, this will be hard to track because DS CAN be used as an anti-tunnel perk and it will be hard to tell if the numbers are high due to it being an invincibility perk for 60 second perk or if a lot of killers tunneled that survivor.

Honestly if they made it so you have an option to toggle cross platform on/off then I'd be 100% down for it even if console does have a slight disadvantage. I might found selfish for saying it but sometimes before work I just want a quick few games without a care about the outcome.
If people had the option to play versus PC or console then no one can really complain because they have opted in for it themselves and if they don't like it then they can simply turn it off.

If your within 40m of hook, hook time should stop, good killers don't care.
Pretty sure the devs tried something like that (not that much of a radius) and survivors just abused it like crazy. Of course when the majority bad apples ruin it for the good ones it sucks but unfortunately that's the community we have :/

I'll be honest, I knew this challenge would be, not so much hard, but a pain to make happen.
So do what I did. Make them think you're farming, and pull the old double cross at the end.
I did the exact same but one survivor said "######### doctor" but the other three were understanding and still thanked me for the farm because they got their challenge too :)
I felt really bad but I just had enough of that challenge.

Meanwhile I just finished a killer game at rank 9 and went against 3 ranks 3

The most broken thing about it is the fact that you can pick yourself up every single time! IMPOSSIBLE for the killer to slug, how can they slug for the 4k? Even better it's even more broken with DS because you can't slug them or you can't pick them up.
In my opinion if you run this broken monstrosity you should be immediately dead on hook and at random intervals you scream alerting your presence to the killer. The OP gave really good examples of this perk being broken. /s
