You mean like turning older unlicensed characters into basegame characters, or new killers that are unlocked by everyone?
The latter.

What would it be? The Boomer or Jockey would be the best fits in my opinion. As a lot of the others seem they'd be too similar to current killers
Used to be one for the Tank, but that massive size would make clipping problems with tight vaults & hallways.
I wouldn't like the Jockey, purely cause he'd get the Hag & Blight treatment: Short.
Boomer's a puker, just that makes him a fat Plague to me.
Charger's a Hillbilly.
Hunter would be original, but his thing is to pounce around and really high, so that could be a balance problem by itself. (Loops being a main defense for Survivors.)
Smoker's a Deathslinger.
Witch seems impossible to make her feel legit, as she doesn't do anything in L4D until someone provokes her. If you can just control her normally, it could've pretty much been any other Special Infected instead.
Spitter might just be different enough, i mean she also releases goo from her mouth like Boomer & Plague, but it's different.
You could spit acid pools down that will damage them over time, you could spit it over walls, vaults & Pallets, maybe it can even damage Dying Survivors.

Well the forums hate me so I'm not gonna type all that out again (the above comment), basically @Boss here's the stream timestamped to the question:

And here's my summary of the question, taking from this post:
Several People- Will we have an option to disable anti-aliasing?
"For those who don't know, AA is a technique to smooth out the pixelated edges in a 3D game. When turned on it usually looks prettier, however it has a cost to performance, and many people dislike the effect that it gives. Recently the ability to disable AA was accidentally removed. This is being worked on as we speak. Designs for menus are being worked on, and the menu system is also being redesigned for more options. Expect this in the "Not too distant future". No patches given yet. (Patrick)"
Changed up the formatting because the forums hate me.
Many thanks, i have indeed never seen this. π€

Literally Patrick said on stream that they're working on the new graphics settings.
When the whole community cried about the unchangeable blur effect in game.
Okay, but i don't know which stream, could you get me that?

Can you give us the source where they said that?
I don't remember that.
EDIT: Source has been posted.

I don't understand this, so what is "free" to you. What he said is true, anything that you can get with out paying real money is free.
Free to me is what was free before: Unlocked, playable from the get-go.

Visionary
For every Generator that is fully repaired, gain a Token.
For every Token that Visionary has, see the Aura of a Totem.
For every Totem that is cleansed, lose a Token.
What is this?
Idk, i hear enough complaints about bones being impossible to do, and that NOED is OP.
So here ya' go.

omg this would be so confusing. Can you imagine how great this would be for survivors that love to fake actions? They could have two different poses at the same time when vaulting a window, one looking at the killer and one not, and the killer would have to take extra time to decipher which action was going to be taken by the survivor.
This is even WORSE than current predator.
@White_Owl said:
That would clutter the screen quickly making it counterproductive for the killer imo.
Hmmm, i do have an idea for the clutter as well, but that would also reduce its usefulness.
This idea still seems cool to me, but it'll create too many problems. π€·ββοΈ

With the new Pop nerf it's useful when used right. Let's say the Killer has BBQ and sees you working on a gen on the other side of the map until he is there his Pop will be half gone so you just need to use Repressed Alliance and his Pop is wasted.
The Killer could maybe find another Generator in time, but RA does indeed have a good use there: At least your Generator is safe from a 25% Pop.
-
@DerZuntor said:
I don't use it often but when I do I use it to counter pop and it works quite well most times.
And since Pop's pretty popular, it's not bad to take it with you often?

Complete rework.
Gearhead
Survivors who are repairing Generators within your Terror Radius reveal their Aura.
Survivors who stop repairing Generators within your Terror Radius reveal their Aura for 1/2/3 second(s).

Honestly, For The People sounds like that's about as selfless as you can get.
Not only does it not benefit you, it negatively impacts you and that negative effect is greater than the positive effect. (Healing 1 Health state VS damaged for 1 Health state + Broken.)
That's definitely gonna be one on the list.
Borrowed Time seems pretty obvious.
We'll Make It is probably a good choice too: BT for if the Killer's near, WMI for if they ain't.
And then i guess Babysitter, to make the unhooked as safe as possible.
-
What map consistently gets the lowest FPS as of today? π€
Yes, related question to the topic, cause i'd like to see that map on next-gen.

I'll never stress enough to learn to bodyblock with Wraith. It's really important that you learn that aspect to improve your Wraith Gameplay π
It's funny when you do that, especially easy with a "Windstorm".
They mostly need to take half a second to realize why they're not moving forward anymore.
-
Solo queue. π
-
"Windstorm" Add-ons are your best friends, but don't underestimate the post-uncloak phase without those Add-ons, that speed CAN catch up to Survivors timing their Sprint Burst with your uncloak.
Obviously, one of his greatest weaknesses is to be seen from far away, so DO use obstacles to your advantage.
Start the uncloak around corners, they didn't put the ringing of the Wailing Bell at the end of the animation for nothing.
Since M1 is his only way to deal damage, try to strengthen that: "Blind Warrior" - White's a pretty good Add-on, Save The Best For Last is a good friend of his, Make Your Choice can be very snowball-like, Sloppy Butcher for when you want a different Add-on than "Blind Warrior" - White, and more i can't think of right now.
I probably got way more tips, but that's all i can think of for now (tired).
Also, these are just tips from my perspective, others might not like some of my tips, and that's fine: Listen to all tips, and find out what works for you.
For instance, Wraith can be quite good with a hit-and-run tactic, but i prefer to get Survivors down when i find them, and it works often enough for me to continue to do so.

Hmmm, but Kindred also helps them while you're hooked.
Kindred would be fine, and i just so happen to really like that one too.

Well, this will have to assume there are now 6 Totems on the map, but...
- Hex: Devour Hope
- Hex: Haunted Ground
- Hex: Retribution
- Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
- Hex: Undying
Hex: Devour Hope is, of course, the main juice of this mix.
Hex: Haunted Ground is for making cleansing less appealing, lowering the chances for it to be any other Hex Totem that goes first, and for a nice minute of 1-hitting.
Hex: Retribution is to get Auras for when they do cleanse one, which will inevitably happen.
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt is to make cleansing take longer, and with it now being 6 Totems, it'd make cleansing 36% slower instead of 30%.
Hex: Undying is to save Hex: Haunted Ground once, and to be a better signal than Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.

As mentioned during the anniversary livestream, we are planning to add the Cross-Play feature into Deadby Daylight. As it is a topic widely discussed in the community, we are here to provide you with more clarity on our vision regarding Cross-Play / Cross-Friends and Cross Progression.
Dead by Daylight is now available on multiple platforms and soon Stadia will join that line up. While a few years ago it was impossible to imagine that Cross-Play could be a thing in video games, it now seems a logical choice for us. Our aim has always been to make sure players can play together as a fully connected community, and today we are excited to share more about that plan.
Cross-Play and Cross-Friends
Ten months ago, we introduced Cross-Play on PC with the release of the game on the Windows Store. Cross-play was already on our minds even before this release and thus linking these two platforms together came naturally. Cross-Play went live a few days after the release of the Windows Store, greatly improving the players experience.
But that was only the beginning, as the following two topics were listed as the most requested by the community:
- Play with my friends from other platforms (Cross-Friends)
- Cross-Progression
In theory, Cross-friends, a feature to add players from a platform to another was a matter of production efforts. Cross-Friends is now live on Windows Store & Steam as a beta test and, so far, we are receiving amazing feedback.
However, we wanted to make sure that the Cross-Play aspect of that feature would not impact the general players experience. We knew players would ask about Balancing, Matchmaking time, Network communications etc. We investigated our data, ran playtests, and gathered feedbacks and we are now confident moving forward with the release of Cross-Play on console.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3PTEWC9ICD4I/image.png
Cross-Friends mockups
Now that all lights are green, we are preparing the activation of Cross-Play and Cross-Friends on consoles. In this scenario, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be able to play together, and with people on PC. We are polishing the last details to make sure that it will only impact our game positively. As we are still monitoring the situation and numbers on PC, we cannot give you a specific date for now, but we can definitely say it is coming really soon! (like before the first snow, in Montreal (hopefully))
Once Cross-Play is live on all platforms, we will carefully monitor the data to ensure the stability of the game. If it becomes unstable, we will disable cross-play to allow us to work on a fix. Player experience first!!
Players will have the choice to opt-out of Cross-Play if they prefer.
We have seen a lot of questions about potential Cross-Play with Dead by Daylight Mobile, for now, this is not part of our plan. The game system and architecture are significantly different. We are prioritizing the release of cross-play between PC & Consoles first to make sure that the experience is smooth for the players on those platforms.
Cross Progression
Allowing players to team up with their friends from other platforms was the first step to break barriers between platforms. We know that some of our players are active on several platforms, and Cross-Progression is also one of the top wishes from our community.
We are thrilled to announce that we are preparing the first steps toward Cross-Progression and that it will be available for Steam, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch in September! Players will be able to share their progression, purchases, and inventory on those 3 platforms β Exceptions might have to be made to accommodate for some external licensing needs.
As of today, we cannot make Cross-Progression available on other platforms and we have no guarantee that it will happen. However, we know that this is a community wish, and we will keep trying to make it happen.
How will Cross-Progression work?
Merging several years of game progression of millions of players is a technical challenge that few games are trying to tackle.
We spent lots of time preparing and discussing the best way to provide Cross-Progression to our players. We want to make sure the transition will be smooth and that we protect our player's progression.
In order to achieve a good transition, we had to build a brand new ecosystem. Players will have to create a Behaviour Account to link their progression, so our server can merge it.
All our efforts will be focused on monitoring account merging to ensure that players will not have any issue during that complex process.
Thanks for reading! we are super excited to read your comments. Many people on the team are working hard to transform that vision into something that you will experience as soon as possible with your keyboard / controller. We hope this article gave your more clarification about the future of Dead by Daylight!
See you in the Fog.
...they say...
As of today, we cannot make Cross-Progression available on other platforms and we have no guarantee that it will happen. However, we know that this is a community wish, and we will keep trying to make it happen.
The emphasis on "CANnot".
I can't go into depth on this though, idk how cross-progression works behind the scenes.
They probably thought: "So we can't do those yet, but we can do these now? Okay, do these now."

There's no monopoly for DbD, but the competitors that are there are very weak, so i don't blame you for disregarding that competition.
Only at one point ever did Friday The 13th record more Steam players than DbD, and that was F13's release date.
And the other 3 Mandy named, Hide Or Die, Resident Evil Resistance & Last year, they don't even come close to the numbers DbD had on release and at DbD's worst times.
And this is only Steam: Idk about mobile, Microsoft Store & Stadia, but PS4 & Xbox One had plenty of time to reel in players as well.
On another note: The game has grown quite a lot in player numbers.
It might seem slow to (just about) triple your player count over 4 years, but as long as it keeps growing, they probably don't see many changes are needed to how they do things.
They keep doing these things, and not just more people come in, but more people keep playing as well.

I think people focusing on "killers get more points" are looking at things the wrong way. Not only do they need the points a LOT more, but they have to generally work harder for them, even if they don't finish their objectives. The issue isnt that killers get too many points, its that survivors get too little.
Well yeah, this isn't to call for less BP.
I much prefer how almost all BP is interwoven with the Killer's primary objective.
And an increase in BP gain for Survivors is something very hard to refuse.

Never, it's just a stupid thing to have happen.

@Boss I appreciate this thread, I know I struggle to recall what actions reward each category. I kinda wish the Emblem system was simplified a bit. The 2 things that stand out for me:
First, if you're solo q and the rest of your teammates are SWF, it can be really frustrating. Ppl in the SWF will naturally coordinate healings, unhooks, etc., and you're kind of forced to run info perks just to make sure you don't become the sacrificial lamb.
Question for other solo q players: Do you also tend to get fewer bloodpoints when there's SWF in your match?
Second, I feel like each Killer has 2 categories they naturally excel at getting points in. I play a lot of stealth Killers and it's usually easy to max out in the hunting category, whereas I hardly ever max out on a survivor category. Maybe that's part of the BP discrepancy? I don't know, but I'm also very curious to hear what other players have to say on this topic!
Kinda funny: I personally struggle with Hunting when playing Wraith.
Brutality is easier, but not max.
Then in Sacrifice, i usually get around 6-7k.
And Deviousness i find to be ezpz, rarely get below 8k.
If you want to know the categories and in which categories Score Events are sorted, this should be able to tell you: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Score_Events
-
I realised the best way to get bloodpoints and just have a better score in the end
I can't speak for all campers, nor could i speak for many.
But most likely some campers do not think this way, thinking about their Bloodpoints and ranks.
Some will truly view the kill as THE victory over that Survivor.
-
Since i'm biased towards him, i might've liked anything they did with his memories.
But i loved all of it.
-
Is that actually an effect now, or is the text just missing it?
-
I like the concept, but the implementation is mediocre so far.
-
I assume you mean the Perks that will cost more were the ones like this: Uncommon (4k), Uncommon (4k), Rare (5k) = 13k.
The change will make them all go: Uncommon (4k), Rare (5k), Very Rare (6k) = 15k.
So yes, those will be more expensive.
On the other hand, there's also Perks that go: Rare (5k), Very Rare (6k), Very Rare (6k) = 17k.
It will be 2k cheaper to fully upgrade those.
There are also some characters who have more than 1 Teachable Perk that work like the last calculation, like Shape.
All of Shape's 3 Perks have the 17k, so you'd save 6k in total after the change.
On the other hand, there are NO characters with more than 1 13k Teachable Perk.
Now i'm just sitting here, hoping i did my math right...
-
Like it says in the patch notes, they're bugged.
They can't be seen on Medium or higher graphics.
-
I don't think i'd see complaints if BP gains get doubled permanently.
Of course, i'll receive complaints about it now.
-
No one asked for PH nerf?
I quite often saw complaints on here about him faking his Power.
Not saying what's right and wrong, but there have been requests here for taking that away from him.
-
One thing that doesn't help is that Survivors are all the same, except for the minor differences like their voices & appearances.
Once you find the best things for a Survivor, that's it: You found the best things for all Survivors.
While certain Killers are quite similar, and of course there are Perks that work just as well for one as it does for all, there's also Perks that are absolute ######### on one, but can make for really fun builds for others.
-
