IMO Whispers is very helpful on Pig, I'd almost say it's needed. If you wanna take advantage of your crouch for more than just a couple loops, Whispers gives you a general idea of when you're close to a survivor, allowing you to take cover and crouch. It's more effective with M&A, but still helpful regardless. Also, I don't ask for advice, more so comment on the fact Ruin was cleansed in 5 seconds and they always suggest running Corrupt Intervention instead.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/513867#Comment_513867
I haven't tried Bamboozle yet. The Enduring/Spirit Fury combo is nice, but personally I feel like it forces me to not use crouch or ambush as much because without Whispers its hard to gain advantage with it aside from shorter loops.
Well that's the thing, "generally" her ambush is trash and in 90% of the cases you are better off just uncrouching and going for the M1. Her ambush is that bad currently.
Also, until they raise her crouch view point you are using it sparingly. Most Pigs I see use it too much. Learn Pig TR by heart and crouch right as they'd start hearing your heartbeat. You don't want to be just crouching across the entire map as that's costing you a lot of time and pressure.
I don't think Whispers is a bad perk at all tbh. I personally don't run it because finding survivors isn't the issue, the chase is. However, it's kind of like Nurses Calling in the sense that they're both just generally good perks all around that are a good default if you aren't sure what to pick.
-
This happens A LOT. I really wish they'd fix this. It's been bugged for a long time now.

@Blueberry Loops are not infinite, otherwise the game would be broken: an extra hit means an extra loop, and precious time. If you really believe having one health state more or less it's irrelevant, why don't all people run No Mither? Why do all killers hate Mettle of Man? I'm in red ranks, even without Adrenaline and META builds. Many playstyles can lead to high ranks.
"Loops are not infinite"
I never said they were.
"If you really believe having one health state more or less it's irrelevant, why don't all people run No Mither?"
Because they don't want to intentionally hinder themselves and the killer still could be playing nurse. That's a stupid question.
"Why do all killers hate Mettle of Man?"
Because it was completely broken and the devs agree hence it being nerfed.
"I'm in red ranks, even without Adrenaline and META builds."
You could run zero perks on survivor and still dominate in red ranks quite easily as survivor. The skill floor is quite low.
"Many playstyles can lead to high ranks."
That's true, but pipping doesn't mean you didn't let your team down or screw them over.
-
Don't listen to them Corrupt Intervention is complete trash unless you're Hag or trapper. Ruin is just the best by far even when it does get cleansed early.
I think BS is a pretty bad perk. M&A is alright on Pig, but I think Bamboozle or the Enduring/Spirit Fury combo is a lot better. Discordance is also pretty good.
Not sure what perks you have.
-
"It's not a question of being more or less informed: it's a question of personal and environmental resources."
If you are aware of personal and environmental resources available then you are in fact "informed".
"Maybe you are able to keep the Plague busy for 2 minutes of chase even if injured and emitting grunts of pain: I'm not."
Like I said, this is talking about red ranks, not low ranks where people don't know how to loop.
"I prefer to prevent than to engage a chase, if I can: a clever stealth. Moreover, I don't like the gen rush, neither as a killer nor as a survivor. I keep an eye on totems, too: sometimes there is a big surprise, called Devour Hope, seldom NOED. I also like searching for some good loot, with the benevolence of Lady Luck"
You are basically saying you like to play immersed, that's fine. Just know that while playing immersed you are in "most" cases hindering your team by playing this way.
"And sometimes there isn't a good amount of loops or pallets in the map, and it's simply impossible to keep the Plague for a long time with only one health state..."
Basically all red ranks would disagree with you. There are more than enough pallets and windows even on the worst map to get all 5 gens done and still have more left.

So that he can stalk the weak link ALL game and get free insta downs off of a potato? No ty.
Multi stalk for faster charge, while draining them accordingly, would be fine. It has a limit.
"So that he can stalk the weak link ALL game and get free insta downs off of a potato? No ty."
That's entirely the point. He uses the weakest links to help tackle the better survivors. Otherwise he isn't reaching rank 1 viability.
-
Then that would defeat the point of Ghostface. They're already almost identical as is.
I'd want Myers to get his multi stalk back and to remove the stalk limit on each survivor. These are unnecessary handicaps on him and lower his skill ceiling for plays.

Oh I have no idea what values I'd choose. They would never do this so I haven't put that much thought into it.
In general though I think pipping is too easy and I would probably put them quite high if it was up to me.

True, but it would increase the viability a bit. I often have to make a bad choice between spreading the sickness early or actually downing and hooking people early in the game. If I choose the former, there are too many pallets up and no pressure with 3 gens left. If I choose the latter, I don't have enough people Broken and I still don't have Corrupt Purge, but at least I have some hooks. Either way, usually boring.
Yeah I mean I'd still take this change as it makes more sense thematically and she just needs whatever buffs she can get. I like it.
I think this change along with the other things I mentioned would put her in a good spot. I don't know if she'd be quite rank 1 viable yet but it would at least be quite a large boost.

I'd say that's a bit strong with 15%. I got her to P3, played over 100 games with her and at red ranks she just isn't strong enough. Especially if you try to break them first without add-ons it takes too much time. Survivors shouldn't need to be broken to spread any of the sickness.
Her points are so bad I cant believe it. Since I love points more than winning I just be sick on everything, even if no one is around just for the points and it still isn't enough. If you run into a plague on ps4 just spinning around being sick on stuff it's probably me lol
Yea I'm on these forums way too long also, though I like to look at the fan creations most and recently the in-game cosmetic contest.
"Especially if you try to break them first without add-ons it takes too much time. Survivors shouldn't need to be broken to spread any of the sickness."
I just don't think the spam puke into the survivor then M1 down is good design. I'd rather increase how easily the infection spreads like you were wanting and make her playstyle encourage spreading the infection more than tunneling into 1 guy.
The 15% slow down is just compensating for the time you waste spreading the infection instead of pounding into 1 guy and for the time they aren't wasting having to heal.
Hypothetically with the changes I mentioned earlier you'd be downing them with her Corrupted Purge a lot more so you wouldn't need the Vile purge into them until broken combo as much. I think this play style is also much more fun for the survivor.
"Her points are so bad I cant believe it. Since I love points more than winning I just be sick on everything, even if no one is around just for the points and it still isn't enough. If you run into a plague on ps4 just spinning around being sick on stuff it's probably me lol"
Yeah I usually do the same lol
Like I was saying I originally thought her point gain was bad as well until I realized that it was only bad because she wasn't getting to use her power because no one was cleansing. Once people start cleansing she starts getting a normal amount of blood points compared to most killers.
-
@Redd said:
Honestly you should just get points for hooks and sacrifices. Add in a camping penalty and call it a day. Keeps the 10 hooks 4 sacrifices goal in tact without all the arbitrary problems chaser and gatekeeper cause.
I kinda just preferred this original way where blood points was the determining factor.

@Blueberry Rank 3, and sometimes I survive, sometimes I die, against the Plague and against any other killer. Your statement "Cleansing is the the worst choice you can make and is not a smart one." is too generic: you forget to consider the map, the number of the gens to repair or of the available pallets, the situation of the team, the perk build of every player, the killer's add-ons, the playstyle of the people playing that trial in that time and in that way... too dogmatic for my taste. I'm glad you have only certainties in your (virtual) life: I'm not like you, sorry to disappoint you.
It isn't too generic. In almost all cases you should not be cleansing. Like 95% of the time.
It only seems dogmatic to someone that is ill informed on the game.
"I'm glad you have only certainties in your (virtual) life: "
All we have talked about is choosing to cleanse or not cleanse against a Plague so I don't see how you think that encapsulates "you have only certainties in your (virtual) life". We have literally only talked about this situation.
"I'm not like you, sorry to disappoint you.""
I never said you were and how is that disappointing to me?
Are you done attempting to be a pseudo intellectual and using big words to seem more informed? You do whatever you want, I haven't said you couldn't. I just pointed out why it isn't the most logical choice.
-
All 3 of her perks are quite lackluster.
Dark Devotion is mainly for some memes. It's way too situational for a lackluster pay off. It does work on Legions FF for your question.
Infectious Fright is a perk people will like to tell you has some decent builds like on Myers but I just disagree. There are better perks you could run even on Myers. It's another lackluster perk that isn't worth a slot.
Corrupt Intervention looks good on paper but is actually quite bad. The only killers it is alright for are Hag and Trapper as they can make use of the setup time. Anyone else, garbage. Good survivors will just wait out the timer and do nothing till it ends.
-

slight addition to chaser:
Beartraps award the same amount of chase points a succesfull chase would. picking someone out of a trap will grant another succesfull chase.
reasoning: trapper is probaply the killer that gets fcked over by the chaser emblem the most, as traps do not count as succesfull chases. that means, that the better you played, the worse that emblem is going to be for you as the killer, making it literally impossible to rank up with him in high ranks. this addition should fix that problem.
This is a good point and makes sense.

I dont mind that play style of trying to break them first but I always feel forced to do it because her points are so bad you need to do it that way.
I think they should get a debuff while sick but the thing that annoys me more is when someone saves a sick survivor from the hook but not get sick themselves. Also doing a gen with a sick survivor but also not getting sick. Healing sick survivors again the same thing. I just don't understand why this isn't already changed.
The reason her point gain is so extremely low is because she isn't getting to use her power in the games because of survivors not cleansing. You'll notice when you finally get a game with some potatoes that cleanse she actually gets great points. It's her poor design stopping survivors from cleansing and letting her use her power that is killer her point gain.
"I think they should get a debuff while sick but the thing that annoys me more is when someone saves a sick survivor from the hook but not get sick themselves"
Yeah I'd like a base 15% gen repair slow while infected.
The only times a rescuer doesn't get infected is because the person on the hook wasn't fully broken from the infection. I do agree it should infect them regardless though.
"Also doing a gen with a sick survivor but also not getting sick. Healing sick survivors again the same thing"
Yeah that's happening for the same reason as above and I agree it should change.
"I just don't understand why this isn't already changed."
It's because the devs don't realize her bad design. They are only looking at their kill stats to determine if she needs changes and since she "supposedly" has high kills (which I find hard to believe) at rank 1 they think she's fine.
Not only do I doubt she has those kills at rank 1, those stats are flawed by so many factors that they don't take into account, making them near worthless in terms of determining balance.
They also need to take into account her fun factor. The fact that survivors don't cleanse means she's never getting to use her power and just M1ing all game and that is NOT fun.
I'd say her non viability and lack of fun is pretty unanimously agreed by the community when we look at this discussions current upvotes as well. I haven't seen this many up votes on a post in quite a very long time and I spend too much time on these forums.

@Blueberry My dear, are you another fanatic, who thinks his strategy is the only valid and acceptable, or are you a reasonable human being, who has his own ideas without pretending they are the absolute and eternal truth? Fanatic or reasonable? Make your choice! About my choice, when I hear the Corrupt Purge starts, I simply disappear: I go looking for totems, chests, safe rescues, but far from any gen on the map, until the power finishes, or I have the certainty the killer is at the opposite side of the map. Try it: it's not as bad as you think, especially when you play as a solo...

@Tzeentchling9 Thanks for confirming your fanaticism: whoever has a different strategy about the Plague is a "clown", of course. Try replying to the post immediately before that I quoted, if you believe in a constructive dialogue; otherwise, good bye and GG.
"Fanatic or reasonable?" "Make your choice!"
I already did make my choice as well as all actually competent red rank survivors that know how to play against Plague. It was the "reasonable" choice as it's the most logical one.
"About my choice, when I hear the Corrupt Purge starts, I simply disappear: I go looking for totems, chests, safe rescues, but far from any gen on the map, until the power finishes, or I have the certainty the killer is at the opposite side of the map"
Are you playing at grey ranks or what? This is potato play style. Wasting time like this is how you lose games.
Not to mention you aren't waiting out her Corrupted Purge because now that you cleansed you forced everyone else on the team to as well, meaning she has plenty more fountains to pick it right back up.
"Try it: it's not as bad as you think, especially when you play as a solo..."
Me and all the other red ranks have, plenty. Cleansing is the the worst choice you can make and is not a smart one.

They eventually cleanse. My problem with her is:
1. It takes too long to break people.
2. If you choose to make them sick, not break them and then down them it doesn't spread the sickness if they are saved/healed.
I'm not saying this should be her only change but I think if they do this it would help more than you realise.
"1. It takes too long to break people."
I actually think they should have made her a playstyle where she just infects people and then leaves to keep spreading it. The whole, puke into them until broken and then M1 playstyle is bad design imo.
"2. If you choose to make them sick, not break them and then down them it doesn't spread the sickness if they are saved/healed."
Well you have to spread it yourself. I get the play style change you want and I would like that as well. I'd rather it take longer to get them into broken but spread easier and with survivors being more forced to cleanse.

Yeah and even with her Corrupted Purge she is still quite loopable against good survivors.

This is a tough one.
I think most people think Enduring/Spirit Fury is better, but I personally like Bamboozle too much.
There are just so many windows where Bamboozle cuts the loop immediately and saves you a lot of time. Also for when you get one of those maps that still have semi infinite's on them that just screw you if you aren't running Bamboozle. There's just still way too many windows that are too strong to me.
Yeah the Enduring/Spirit Fury will help you more, but it just feels so bad having to waste 2 perk slots on this and not getting to run Bamboozle because of it. I just don't see this combo pay off as much as most people feel like it does.
I also think Bamboozle +T3 Myers is quite strong and terrifying with how fast you go through those windows.
-
I think a base 15% gen repair speed slow while infected and a random fountain becoming corrupted every minute would help her a lot.
The extra corrupted fountains would actually make it dangerous to ignore cleansing the sickness as well as the small passive gen slow down to help make up for how bad she gets gen rushed because no one has to heal.
I don't even know if this change would be enough but it would definitely get her pretty close and is a good start.
-
@CashelP14 said:
One very simple change I've mentioned on a couple of occasions was to make all interactions while sick spread the sickness. Not just when your broken but when your sick at anytime.
Means survivors are sick sooner and will hopefully allow her to get the corrupt purge more often.
No one is cleansing the sickness anyway so that wouldn't really change anything aside from like the first minute of the game.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
I actually think Plague would be fine if they added a repair speed debuff when you are sick. Maybe 10 to 15% while in the beginning stages of sickness. 25% once you're sick enough to reach broken state. This way if they don't cleanse you gain time.
This would work.
I'd just like a flat 15% only once broken/fully sick and a random fountain becomes corrupted every minute.
They could even increased the base sickness transition time to broken if need be. This would transition her into a true "Plague" if you will, in that you'd be more focused on spreading the disease rather than just bursting into one guy and downing him on the spot with the Vile Purge.

If you played at red ranks you would know how weak that actually is. There are more than enough pallets and windows to finish 5 gens and still have lots left. Being injured and 1 shot from going down is way less dangerous than you and the devs think it is. When she is huge and with a large TR this makes her one of the most loopable killers in the game.
All the killers you mentioned do need buffs, no one here is saying they don't. All we are saying is that Plague does as well. She fundamentally doesn't work how they designed her.

I've been saying this a lot lately. Gens shouldn't stop regressing until you've hit a skill check.
As for speed of repair, being injured should have some effect on survivors. Even if its just a 5% reduction to vaulting, healing and repairing.
Those 2 changes would go a long way towards slowing the game down.
That would be a nice change.
-
Almost all games have a semi 15min ban system for ditching a game so I'm not sure why DBD doesn't already do the same. It works out quite well in the other games.
Unfortunately now people will just insta kill themselves on the hook instead, but at least this will give the killer his BBQ stack I suppose.
I still think they should add a much larger portion of blood points to the struggle phase to incentivize survivors to keep themselves alive as long as possible even if they know a teammate won't reach them in time.

They are probably new. Lots of new players reach high ranks fast. Most of them doesn't know gen placements, pallet placements, totem spawns etc. And they are scared and immersed as hell.
Hatch campers are people who never bothered to improve at the game and they think escape means they are good at the game. You see this a lot when you play killer also. Sometimes whole team dc's to give one person a hatch and they think they won because of it. Lmao.
Well the SWF gets a lot of boosted survivors to ranks they shouldn't be as well.

Wich means: a potato that I can control.
So the devs
I don't know, I don't have hopes for Plague anymore. The only good thing about her at the moment is her design and voice acting
I honestly connect with her thematically and visually more than most the other killers as well. She just isn't viable and it doesn't seem like the devs see that.

Omg miss plague is puking on me!! All I need to do is run to the next jungle gym, throw 100 pallets, loop her until tomorrow, use my BL or Dead Hard to gain more time and that's it! 4 gens are done.
But don't worry, in the end you will be able to use your corrupted purge. I'm waiting on the exit gates with my SWF tbaging you with the flashlights btw
This basically sums up playing Plague in red ranks quite well.
Not only is it not fun when you don't get to use her power at all, but the devs have a misunderstanding that staying injured is more dangerous than it is.
There are more than enough pallets and windows to finish all 5 gens before you run out. THAT is the problem.
She isn't effective or fun.
-
Completely agree.
Plague basically has no power. Unless you are playing against potatoes you will not get to use your power even once until the last gen is popped which is where they'll al cleanse at the last second.
You just play the entire game trying to M1 while circling pallets. That's it.
Survivors having control of her power entirely is terrible design. Not getting to even use her power isn't fun.
Killers need the powers in THEIR hands. She needs fixes.
-
Looks good!
Also something else I'd like to point out.
There's a big issue with the relationship between Gatekeeper and Chaser.
Hypothetically if you got an iridescent Chaser you would have Iridescent Gatekeeper because that would mean that you are starting and ending chases very quickly. IE you are slowing down gens as best as possible. However this isn't the case. The fact that you can get an iridescent Chaser and still get gen rushed to hell netting you only a silver in Gatekeeper tells us there is a balance problem imo.
This inconsistency is evidence that killers simply do not have the appropriate amount of time for Gatekeeper even when playing the best possible bar like Nurse etc.

That would be a bit of a stretch. You can already do exactly that in the live game, except the killer will be busy checking generators instead so it would be much safer.
In reality, what would likely happen is that most survivors would just hide until they're unblocked. You can see a bit of this with Corrupt Intervention. You might be able to spin this to you advantage if you find someone early on, but otherwise it just adds a game of hide and seek to the start of a match.
"In reality, what would likely happen is that most survivors would just hide until they're unblocked. You can see a bit of this with Corrupt Intervention"
Does this mean we could see a tweak to Corrupt Intervention in the future?
-
3 or 4k is a win
2k is just average, definitely not a win though.
Any kill you had to camp for doesn't count though imo.
Like hypothetically gates are open and I've got someone on the hook. There's basically no reason to leave in this scenario so I don't blame a killer for camping at that point. However if that was me, that kill wouldn't be included in my "kill count" in deciding whether I won or lost.
I also wouldn't count any kills from survivors just trolling at end game, DC's, or NOED (I don't use it though). All these extra scenarios aren't kills that were earned which is why they aren't included. (Also a reason the devs determining balance based on their kill stats is heavily flawed)
I couldn't care less about pips.
Just my opinion.

+1 I agree with the video, it's a really good idea.
The devs need to watch this video a few times and really take it to heart.

"It's already hard enough to move your camera on the survivor, but that might be a console limitation for me"
I believe that is more of a console specific issue
It's already hard enough to walk a few meters cause your legs are broke, but that might be a personal limitation for me.
Console players should keep the lunge, they need to be able to react.
Not sure what they'd do instead then

See? I'm not the only one who thinks reducing the lunge will kill console Nurses.
Not sure what nerf we'd do otherwise then. Anything else people would think was too severe.

This is still enough to remove her from competitive play.
This is just wrong. Even with zero addons she is STILL the best killer in the game and way more than competitive.
