    @se05239

Every Killer since the Clown has been buffed in their PTB cycle.

(although Plague changes hurt her more in the end,she still recived a lot of buffs)

They received buffs and were STILL nonviable even after said buffs. Being made less trash doesn't matter if you're still trash.

  • It is a little overly aggressive, but OP's point is true.

People are much quicker to jump at BHVR because these same mistakes have been being made for over 2+ years. Nothing has been learned from previous mistakes.

Making good, constructive feedback posts hasn't fixed "almost" any of the previous killers or balance problems. All the feedback we give as to what needs to be changed gets ignored because the BHVR balance team thinks they know better and they don't.

They also lean on HEAVILY flawed stats for their reasoning behind said bad or non existent changes.

  • @PolarBear said:

@Janick I find the problem with Plague is if the survivors don't cleanse it isn't fun. You're just a regular old killer, running around pallets until you hit survivors. You don't have a power that spices up the game.

    Yeah agreed.

Since most red rank survivors don't cleanse you never really get to even use her power. You spend the whole match just circling pallets and M1'ing. That isn't fun.

Even if y'all "think" everyone staying Exposed is strong (it's not), it isn't fun.

You aren't getting to use her power.

  • I'd like the idea of giving early access testing to their Fog Whisperers so they could get some balancing feedback prior to the PTB. It's become a pretty regular event for killers to be weak on the PTB and weak on release. They need some people who actually know what's going on in the game to tell them.

  • That's not really the fix they need as it's more of a band-aid. The problem with all the M1 killers is that pallets and windows are just too strong and numerous. This is why "generally" the only viable killers are the ones that can counter looping.

Silence, Blueberry. You be content with your position as a stand in AI for Behavior. Just run in circles, don't tunnel/camp/have a killer power and be content. Mmkay? >: (

Kinda feels like I'm a play thing for survivors enjoyment :/

I'm supposed to give them some jump scares but not actually be dangerous.

  • Before it was pretty bad, but now after the timer buff in the PTB I actually think it's gonna be pretty decent.

  • +1

I just want some more rank 1 viable killers. We keep getting all these "fun" killers that will just get tossed into the pile of non viability.

The majority of people survivors and killers alike rank Spirit as one of the most well balanced killers AND she's rank 1 viable. Is it too much to ask to make more killers near Spirits power level?

  • I like the idea.

I was thinking of something very similar. He basically gets stronger or his "stalk" if the survivor looks at him. This forces the survivors to play differently and run from with without looking behind them. Now THAT would make his chase potential better.

  • @Visionmaker said:

Regress every gen on the map for twenty seconds minimum just for a pick up? Does that sound reasonable?

It's only gens not being working on, that's a big difference.

  • Even with that bug fixed, he's still very weak. It's just one thing on a list of problems.

Not sure what Legions you’re getting but at red rank Legion is crazy. He prolongs the game better than any other killer.

At red ranks survivors just don't heal and he gets looped to oblivion until all gens are done with pallets still left.

  • So you just want to know if other people tunnel and why?

I generally don't tunnel. However, there are a lot of times survivors will call tunneling when it's really not tunneling.

Ignoring all other survivors and waiting at the hook to go right back into the same guy is tunneling.

Completely leaving a hook but you just happen to run into the same survivor again isn't tunneling. Killers work on pressure and tempo, they can't afford to just ignore a guy they run into because it just happen to be the same guy.

Also, a lot of weaker killers are forced to tunnel if they actually want to win. If you're playing an M1 killer and the survivors are actually good red ranks you can't afford to play the "fun" way.

While it's not fun when I get tunneled off the hook, if it's say something like a trapper or wraith, I really can't blame them. If the devs made the weaker killers stronger they wouldn't have to play that way.

This is why I say if the devs actually properly balanced the game tunneling and camping would go way down. Some people do it to be toxic, but the majority of killers do it because they feel like they're backed into a corner and have no other options left.

  • Barely a nerf. It will still be meta after this. Punishes me for being a nice killer and leaving the hooks.

  • MoM is still going to be completely meta after this change. This punishes me for being a nice killer and leaving all my hooks.

  • The biggest issue was the chase music for killers not survivors so yeah that's pretty weird.

  • @Peanits said:

Enduring wasn't quite nerfed, it was changed. Previously it increased stun recovery by 75%. Now it reduces stun time by 50%. With the way it's calculated, it's actually faster than before.

    1 / 1.75 = 1.14 <--- Before

    2 * (1 - 0.5) = 1 <--- After

So pallet stuns are now even shorter, but it doesn't affect perks. This allows us to better control the stun time for perk based stuns without needing to crank them up to 11 just in case the killer has enduring.

He's referring to the stun time on DS being increased because of Enduring previously. However now that Enduring isn't affecting DS that it stun time should be lowered slightly to compensate seeing as the stun time was originally increased because of Enduring. At least that was the impression people got when the explanation for increasing the DS stun time was given on the stream.

He isn't referring to the pallets.

  • I had the same impression that one of his ultra rares will remove the blood and husk from teleporting. unfortunately the devs like to butcher every ultra rare with over the top downsides, so I'm expecting it to also increase the cooldown as well as make the channel time much, much longer. This would essentially ruin its strength and turn it into an addon for the memes.

If actual evidence that she is not as bad as you seem to think won't change your mind, then the problem is you and not the Killer. Like...you just literally said 'I won't believe anything but what i want to believe no matter what.' Is it really that hard to swallow the idea that she just might not be a Killer any idiot can pick up and just grasp instantly?

No, it's because you're dense and don't realize what I was actually saying.

It's because posting a video is anecdotal evidence aka something that isn't worth much.

"Like...you just literally said 'I won't believe anything but what i want to believe no matter what.'"

No, that isn't what I said at all. That is you not being able to understand what we are talking about.

"Is it really that hard to swallow the idea that she just might not be a Killer any idiot can pick up and just grasp instantly?"

This isn't something I said or implied whatsoever.

You are doing so much self projecting it's ridiculous. You are misinterpreting what people are saying for what your preconceived notions already believe about them.

After you get some more hours into the game you'll realize how wrong your opinions are.

  • Still broken.

The only thing this is doing is preventing an Adrenaline, that's it.

The broken status for the rest of the match doesn't matter as red rank survivors aren't healing anyway.

if you're taken on a 5 gen chase that's on u lol. if being 1 shot wasn't a big deal people wouldn't still be running exposed perks

    "if you're taken on a 5 gen chase that's on u lol."

That isn't what I said at all and not what I was referring to either.

"if being 1 shot wasn't a big deal people wouldn't still be running exposed perks"

Because those Exposed perks are being run on actual rank 1 viable killers where what I said above isn't applying. You aren't seeing those perks being run on any of the M1 killers at red ranks.

  • Honestly he looks very weak for the same reason all the other stealth killers are weak. The devs haven't realized their maps don't support stealth killers to be viable. They just don't make strong killers.

That said, I'm going into his testing optimistic and hoping I'll be surprised.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 said:

Cuz it already comes with downside

    1: one shoot

    2: leaving blood marks

3: moaning sounds (/"wasting" one slot for iron will)

    3.5: stridor

    4: thana

And probably some more points I'm missing.

Please just let it how it is, I don't want that self-care becomes meta (/necessary) again, holding M1 at current state is already way to much.

No one runs Stridor because it's bad and sounds are messed up.

Thanata is trash, idk why you'd even bring that up.

Being one shottable with blood trails and moaning sounds is pretty irrelevant when there's more than enough pallets and windows to get 5 gens done before you run out. Staying injured isn't as dangerous as you and the devs think it is.

I might record some footage of the Plague against red rank survivors later. I feel like people (devs included) don't believe us.

I don't know if that would change anything but better than doing nothing I suppose.

You serious? The Plague can track you down if you're not cleansing. u basically just emit disease clouds when you're moving, continuous coughing (making noise), and everything you touched will be infected! And if you cleanse, you just telling her where your location are! No tracking???

Legion has tracking, but you have to hit someone and they have to be inside your Terror Radius with Frenzy first!

Plague is weaker than Legion and Legion is quite weak.

The biggest thing killing Plague is how loopable she is with her huge size and TR.

At least Legion has better mind games with his size and he doesn't get gen rushed quite as bad with healing time.

The vomiting and caughing sounds are irrelevant as you aren't hearing those unless you are basically on top of them anyway. They also aren't cleansing so you aren't getting location information.

  • Seems like it gets worse the higher you go. Red ranks egos are HUGE. If they went down it definitely isn't because they got outplayed.

  • @BismarckCane said:

I ran into my first Plague match in over a month yesterday. Meta now is deny her the power and get an easy win.

The trade off of healing vs remaining sick or even broken is an easy choice.

Her power guarantees a down and if multiple people are near her it is easily multiple downs.

So by simply remaining one hit or sick you considerably make the game easier to win.

Yeah and there's enough pallets and windows to making staying broken/sick not very dangerous. The gens will be done long before the survivors run out of pallets because of how numerous they are.

What are the secret offerings for killers?

    Mori's. That's it.

  • Has the team looked at removing secret offerings from the loading screen? There's few enough potential secret offerings that this prevents them from being a secret.

  • It kinda just depends how good your computer is to whether or not you liked this change. I personally have an amazing computer so there's zero framerate difference regardless and all it did was nerf the graphics for me, which means I preferred the old look. However if you're someone with a bad computer you probably liked this change.

  • It does seem like the atmosphere has taken a nose dive.

I believe this is them valuing better frame rate over ambiance and immersion.

  • @Janick said:

    Hello

We are reluctant at the moment at modifying her. First we have other killers who are higher in the list for modification/balance needs. Second thing, our stats shows that she is top killer (4K) at rank one. It seems that once you've mastered her, she can be extremely effective. She definitely has a high skill curve.

There are a multitude of different factors that are affecting those kill stats to where they are near meaningless in terms of determining a killers balance. We really should stop using those to determine if killers need nerfs, buffs or tweaks. They are not accurate whatsoever.

  • I do agree the atmosphere is really important and currently missing, The reason the devs had is because it takes more frame rate and they want everyone to be able to play as smoothly as possible.

I personally would love much more fog/weather/darkness.

  • Hopefully in the Ghostface chapter in 2 weeks. There's usually a small list of tweaks that come with them.

I do agree about it being quite an unhealthy perk though. Even if it get's nerfed, just the fact that the balance team actually looked at it and thought it would be a good idea is just terrifying and says a lot about their understanding of the games balance. It also shows that nothing was learned from DS.

  • I like facing Huntress and Spirit the most. They both feel like a fair battle of skill and mindgames. If I went down it's because the person was skilled and I got outplayed.

Least favorite is Billy. This is the polar opposite of my favorites. Low skill required and when you go down it doesn't feel like you got outplayed, it just feels..cheap.

EDIT: Forgot the other question. I enjoy playing Spirit the most. High skill cap, very rewarding and actually rank 1 viable. I feel like I actually have some control over how the game goes unlike most M1 killers.

  • That isn't toxic.

Toxic is tbagging, flashlight flicking, spamming the point/come over emotes, spamming vault actions to annoy the killer with location pings, flashlight blind point farming me at every single pallet and just plain DC'ing.

  • @Visionmaker said:

    • Power: Night Shroud
    • When activated, TR shrinks to 0 and you move at full speed. (4.6m/s)

I heard it myself while watching live too.

    • Power: Night Shroud
    • When activated, TR shrinks to 0 and you move at full speed. (4.6m/s)
    • Can crouch, makes him harder to detect.

"When activated, TR shrinks to 0 and you move at full speed. (4.6m/s)"

    That is DURING Night Shroud.

"Can crouch, makes him harder to detect."

This is completely separate. It does not say the crouching with no TR is part of the same ability. They are 2 separate skills.

  • It's because the crouch doesn't reduce his TR, it's just visual. Pigs crouch actually removes her TR as well. They aren't equivalent.

SWF isn't a major issue lol. People CAN play with their friends, if survivors work together as a team, people complain, when killers often say "Survivors need to work as a team to overcome the powerful killer." Stop with the cognitive dissonance.

"People CAN play with their friends"

    I never said they couldn't. You're imagining things that I don't believe.

I don't think you know the definition of cognitive dissonance because that isn't taking place here.

"SWF isn't a major issue lol

If you don't think SWF is a major issue you don't play at rank 1.

"when killers often say "Survivors need to work as a team to overcome the powerful killer."

Saying survivors need to work together is NOT the same as saying they should get into coms to work together. You are using a strawman argument.

  • @ClogWench said:

It's not hitboxes it's latency. It'll be worked out with dedicated servers. Calm yourself.

Basically this. Almost all these people that complain about survivor hitboxes are misunderstanding what is actually happening. It's a latency issue, not hitboxes.

It feels underpowered since it has two negatives on it with...

1.) Being outside of a killer's terror radius

2.) Being on a cooldown (hopefully it's 30sec or below, otherwise it would be worthless perk)

If one of the two negatives were to be removed, (mainly number 1 since the cd would feel fair) this perk would find some usage since 10 out of 15 killers have a terror radius of 32m and most quick actions happen while within the killer's terror radius or during a chase, this perk feels underwhelming to say the least and hopefully get some change to it that could make it somewhat viable.

Even with zero cooldown that perk would still be bad. People don't fast vault outside the killers TR.
