Someone else came up with the main concept before me, but here is my idea:
Basically, it would be an common offering called Broken Mirror. This offering would remove the effects of the Realm Beyond, allowing you to play on an older map.
An easy way to get a little taste of the past.
"As the bloodthirsty glass pierce through our minds, memories become reality once more" -Unknown, Notebook.
Oh that would be awesome. The old chapel map used to have so much color :(
I also thought of an offering that doubles rift shard gains for everyone in the match.

I second this. We should embrace Moonlight again.

I can only imagine how much of a blendette paradise the reworked maps would be with that addon.

As a individual i personally feel as long as i escape i win .
It's funny that we even have to speculate what the win condition is for each side.
If the devs just said something it could clear up a whole helluva lot of stats and statements.
-
For me the only clear win condition for killer is a 4k, anything else can be heavily debated.
For survivor there is a VERY clear win condition in surviving.

I mean, the devs are fine honestly.
Devs like Janick or McLean are really passionate about the game and try their best to make DbD a good game.
I assume that it's the higher ups at BHVR that are responsible for this whole mess.
Hard to feel that way when we have people like Elmo making the others look bad by acting a certain way.
-
Honestly the freezes and contant lag have cost me many chases by now.
-
Jesus, been playing that long and I still suck.

I remember that I called you the meme dealer for a reason :)

Incompetence, mainly.
They never fixed their code, and now we must suffer for their crappy decisions.

Misread that, my bad.
I forgot they actually changed him. Guess the change barely did anything on console

What’s his bug what’s wrong with Blight
After you go through the cooldown of rushing you'll need to do something to be able to rush again. I usually just slap the air, or break a gen if one's nearby.

Press E for free distance (AKA dead hard) would like a word with you.

I suppose we'll see.
I didn't think this would make it past 5 pages.
Yeah, the post is very popular so I guess it'll keep going as long as people feel strongly about the issue.

alright boys 49 pages just a couple of comments left to go until we hit 50 pages.

Wonder if we'll get much further than that.

Nearly 50 pages
Nearly there, perhaps McCote will descend from the heavens to bless us with optimization when we reach 50 pages.

Yep, it's saved me more times than I can count against nemesis right now.

You can open it just dont move anything I had to open mine for a deep dust cleaning because I was having overheat issues as well
I recommend using a can of compressed air and damp q tips if your going that far
Yeah had to do that once because of how loud the fan was.

For .25 seconds on the contamination hit. Yes.
So basically so small it might as well not even exist?

I'm excited for this event but it's still very disappointing that they copied and pasted the entire event from last year's anniversary with minor changes. Laziness at its peak. I wish I didn't take a break from DBD during its other events.
Oh well, at least I have another chance to get Jesus Jeff.
So much for BHVR putting "Extra effort" into this event.

New lore is always cool! I wish I was around!
Sadly after that it was all downhill. Events got smaller and smaller with much less effort being put into them.
Then came halloween 2020...
-
@TheMadCat said:
My first event was... Halloween, as I started to play in October 2020. So... May I ask how were the events before? Like with new gameplay?
I'd be excited to do something new (a new objective the time of the event, etc.).
Oh boy the events 2 years before it were great.
The original hallowed blight introduced us to new lore with 12 journal entries and three cutscenes. It also allowed us to earn event currency by harvesting nectar from a secondary objective. Where the killers had to hook on cancerous hooks.
It came out with seven themed skins total. One for Dwight, Claudetter, Trapper, Billy, Wraith, Doctor, and Huntress.
It had it's issues, but still the greatest event in my mind.

They get hindered?

Wish I was here for that. Arguably the best event in DBD's history.
Definitely when the lore took more of a spotlight too.

@TripleSteal said:
The amount of actual work put into the upcoming event (assuming it comes the way it was announced) barely exceeds null, as it's a set of ctrl+c/ctrl+v of already existing elements in a different mix.
There's like 1 or two actual new things, even then they're reskins.

@Shooby said:
I agreed with what Otz said on a stream recently.
Before any changes come to the zombies, Nemesis himself should be buffed. Any buffs to the zombies make Nemesis himself weaker.
Zombies should be happy accidents and their effectiveness should not be consistent.
DO NOT buff the NPC assistance. If they feel weak to you, run some add-ons to power them up then.
Well the things is, it's not their stats that are weak. It's just that the NPC AI sucks, it gets stuck on everything. That and it sometimes doesn't even notice survivors right next to it.

Plus they can't even crawl through windows. They'll just stare longingly at the survivor through it instead.

When I meant massacre, I didn't mean roast, although it's also there.
I meant the massacre of the forum members.
Oh that, still remember how many people got banned. Plus that megathread that did nothing but put BHVR into damage control mode.

This one I remember all too well. I scoured the maps as Old Freddy looking for those lamps.
At least they were visible, a lot more than the crowns are.
-
@Pilot said:
The massacre that is the Blightet Event from last year.
Oh, boi I do remember that one.
When I mean massacre, I mean on the forums.
It was fun to see everyone roasting the devs together.
Plus it was also fun to see the mods actually enforcing the rules because of how angry everyone was XD

Sadly, I wasn't here at the time. I started during Winter Solstice.
But from what I've seen and heard, Summer BBQ was one of the best events ever.
It was pretty cool, but I would give that title to the moonrise event.
It didn't suffer from as many problems as the original hallowed blight, and shook up the gameplay.
-

So many options: Hallowed Blight, Scorching Summer BBQ, Howling Grounds, and this list goes on.
Ah i remember scorching summer BBQ. It was fun, even if it was a little plain.

@GeneralV said:
If they wanted to recycle an event, at least they should have chosen a different one.
I would love for them to recycle the original hallowed blight, flaws and all.
Definitely a much cooler event than this.
-
Looks good, and makes them harder to see. Lord knows trapper needed a change like that because of how easily you could see his traps through the new grass.

@yobuddd said:
On a slightly different but related topic, DBD has built a significant portion of its identity around Dark Mist. We have mist-altering reagents for offerings. We have “fog whisperers” on social media. Devs sign off with “see you in the fog.”
But what we DON’T have is any actual fog!
Ok, fine, there’s sooooome. A little plume here or there to freshen your ankles. Certainly nothing that affects the game. New players aren’t going to think “oh my, so creepy - all this fog!” It’s more of seeing a plume and thinking “something moved. Let’s go see what it is. Oh ,it’s gone.”
It just seems so weak as an integral piece of the game’s identity and lore. It’s like some post-apocalypse game building itself up around the random piles of pebbles and rocks that are really nothing more than scenery.
Well, I guess we're just going to ignore the distance fog then.

STOP using this ######### word incorrectly! RNG means 'Reandom Number Generator' and there is nothing random about them! They go toward noise notifications and track survivors in their detection range. Otherwise they wander aimlessly. That isn't random; it's very controllable and predictable.
Rng is used to describe something as being random. Not only as a random number generator.
Stop being bent so out of shape by a simple turn of phrase.

I agree.
I think after this disaster, most people would be willing to wait 6 months for a new chapter if it meant the game was playable
Hell, content updates already feel small as is. If we give them time to work on a bigger chapter while the health team does it's thing. Maybe we'd have a great chapter, but that's only my pipe dream.
-
Resident evil actually. Not because of the quality of the update.
Only because now DBD is getting a little big for it's boots.
-
As I said in one of my own threads, Nemesis is the worst combination of plague, pyramid head, and Myers.
For one his contamination has no incentives to cure it other than tanking another hit as you said.
His tentacle lash is cucked by low objects that it should be able to hit over. That and the range is garbage until tier 3. Even then it only adds one extra meter.
And the zombies are so inconsistent that they might as well be solo que teammates in AI form.

Come on, Nemesis isn't the strongest killer but he isn't anywhere near Pig. Nemesis has chase ability as well as map information/and pressure while Pig has what.. her embarrassing ambush attack?
Nemesis is in dire need of a few buffs though, I will agree with that.
His map pressure is kind of meh. The zombies are more of a nuisance than a danger when Nemesis isn't nearby.

I've got a few more tricks that could fix it, so let's hope I can.

Alright, aluminum foil hat time.
BHVR considers you a threat, and ordered a hit on your console.

My Xbox overheated earlier (with a box fan helping cool it) and it hasn't turned on since.
I am trying to fix ir, but no luck yet.
Fingers crossed.
Never before has BHVR bricked consoles from their incompetent optimization. Let's hope you don't become one of the first.

Surprisingly not, that belongs to either A Binding of Kin, or Darkness Amogus.
