Why do they have a QA team if the update STILL releases like that?
Jesus christ, not only are you fighting the survivors, but you're fighting the game as well.

I've been playing since release, and I've seen the game improve a lot over time. Additionally, harassment is never called for.
Ah, so despite everything you still love BHVR?
Sorry, but that makes you a SIMP

If we don't get an acknowledgement of issues prior to this patch, I will reach out to some gaming news sites.
Guess we'll have to wait for another week then for them to fix the stuff caused by this update.
Lord knows if they'll ever acknowledge how incompetent they've been with overall optimization.

Uncalled for?
Oh buddy, if you've been playing as long as us then you would know it is HEAVILY called for.

He is actually the best version of those 3 killers.
Tentancle lash breaks pallets, and still goes over pallets and window vaults, COMES OUT FASTER than judgement and has less lag than judgement.
Nemesis is better than pyramid.
Contamination can be cleansed once by each survivor (4 vaccines) and then THATS IT. if you get infected again it is permanent, no more vaccines
against plague there is always available fountains to cleanse.
Nemesis is better than plague
Myers TIERS DOWN and nemesis never does. once he reaches tier 3 its permanent.
Nemesis is better than Myers.
I thoroughly debunked you, now please tell me again how nemesis is worse than trickster?
Punishment of the damned goes through pallets and windows as well, but also walls. It is also wider and harder to dodge, it is about the same speed as tentacle lash. As of now tentacle lash causes much more lag than POD.
Beyond being vulnerable to zombies and tentacle lash and making more noise, there is no downside to being contaminated. There is hardly incentive to cure contamination because good loopers won't be affected much. Plague causes survivors to eventually become broken, offering some reason to cleanse.
Also, when survivors cleanse for plague that feeds into her power loop. Offering her one of the best abilities in the game. While offering nemesis essentially nothing but another extended chase if he wants that tentacle hit for his mutation rate.
Myers tiers down because he has a temporary insta down, and increased action speeds. While nemesis only gains an extra meter on his tentacle lash.
That is not a thorough debunking, and I never once said he was worse than trickster. Nemesis can hold his own as most any killer can, but is still outclassed in various ways by the killers he borrows powers from.
-
They're getting sloppy
BHVR has been far too comfortable in their position as the owner of this gaming niche. They have no meaningful competition, and therefore no incentive to keep quality at a certain standard.

If you can hit his unreliable m2 to rank up, AND using as many 'slow down the game' perks you can muster. He isnt bad. Some minor tweaks qould put him in a good place.
As it is right now. His power is not worth it vs a standard m1. Which makes it lame to just play him
I agree, some minor adjustments and he'll be set apart from the killers he has borrowed mechanics from
For on I'd slightly widen his m2 attack. Make it take less hits to level up his mutation rate. And improve the shoddy zombie AI.
One larger change could be to provide debuffs from being contaminated. Can't really think of anything off the top of my head though.

I wouldn't agree because:
Myers has to work to become normal M1 killer unlike Nemesis
In T2 Nemesis has solid antiloop potential unlike Myers
In T3 Myers has instadown but still can be looped like normal M1 killer while Nemesis becomes nightmare at loops
I disagree because I am talking about the bonuses themselves. Not about how myers as a killer is. So with that in mind let me lay them out.
Tier 1: undetectable by aura perks, and has no terror radius.
Tier 2: gains a 0.2m/s buff
Tier 3: gains a temporary insta - down, and a bonus to action speed such as breaking pallets or vaulting windows.
Now compare those to nemesis
Tier 1: no bonuses
Tier 2: can break pallets and breakable walls with tentacle lash.
Tier 3: 1 meter increase to tentacle lash range, reduced tentacle lash cooldown.

Yeah at this point creating pressure from outside seems to be the only way to motivate them to work on game health - this is how they got the colorblind settingsafter all (after being denied for years).
One of the few reasons they did that was because of how bad a certain dev made them look by having an outburst on stream.
I guarantee if he hadn't ticked of the colorblind of the community then BHVR wouldn't have done it.

I try my absolute best to look on the positive side of things when it comes to companies. I'm hope so, so badly that they fix this.
Because, quite frankly, this is genuinely unacceptable.
Frankly it has been for years now. Feels like the topic is only picking up traction now with this thread.
But since BHVR has ignored optimization for so long, they have shown they won't do it for the community. If Pulsar is able to talk to a news site, then maybe BHVR will do it if their reputation is at stake.

Very well said, I agree completely. I haven't gotten him yet specifically because he's in a rather weak state.
Plus I play him on console, so it's doubly frustrating to deal with the constant freezing.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
Okay, just played my first game of Nemesis and here's my input on it:
What the #########?!
I was dropping frames and freezing. PC, Ryzen 7 3700x, 6GB GTX 1660, 32GB (4x8GB) RAM, 1TB Samsung SSD, And I was dropping frames and freezing. No other game has this issue. No other game stuttered as badly as this one match did. My computer is reaching record-high levels of temperature and I have the side of the PC off because I knew how hot it'd get. That didn't help.
What the actual ######### is this?! In the nicest possible way, of course.
I should not be dropping frames. I can play other multiplayer and single player games just fine. I should not be dropping frames on a game with minimum specs as low as an AMD FX-8120, a 1GB GTX 460, and 8GB RAM. I should not be dropping frames when the recommended specs are an Intel i3-4170, a 4GB GeForce 760, and 8GB RAM.
I don't really know what else to say, except from what the #########?!
If this cannot cope with it- a machine costing upwards of £1300 built in 2020 (bearing in mind, a 2016 game), what hope do lower end consoles have at the current level?
I'm aware BHVR have said they're looking into this. If they don't fix the abysmal optimisation in total, despite having said 60fps in 2018, then it's honestly not enough.
I've said enough times for you that you've got enough staff on enough teams BHVR. I've summarised your streams and told it exactly like you have.
Now prove to me, and to the rest of your consumers, that you mean you'll fix this.
Don't have high hopes that they'll fix it. They didn't even mention optimization in that earlier announcement, only what they broke with "our latest release."

Didn't say he was worse. I just pointed out how Myers's tier ups are more rewarding than Nemesis's.
Myers is so outdated by today's standards of the game.

If it's a sci fi chapter, then it simply must be styled after the cyberpunk genre.

@Northener1907 said:
"As much of a cool factor nemesis has, he deserved better than being the malformed bastard child of three killers."
That "What is Nemesis?". Good topic, he is weak as hell.
Plus with his DBD design it doesn't feel true to what nemesis is.
In RE3 Nemesis was meant to be a more agile and dangerous pursuer than the slow but intimidating Mr. X. He could climb buildings, and come after you at a dead sprint.
In DBD he is anything but agile, being locked into normal killer speed. While having an animation that makes him seem slow and lumbering.
-
@DarkZ said:

I restarted DBD and that seemed to work. I'm on Ps4 so it might not work for you if you're on steam.

Agreed on all fronts. He's pretty well balanced, not too OP and not too weak. He does need a little tweaking here and there, like you said the speed boost with the infection hit is a bit of a problem that has to be looked at. But otherwise I like him and the zombies. The zombies are very RNG dependent and depending on which map you're on will determine how much value they give. On a huge map like Mother's, they barely give anything. But on a small map, especially Hawkins, omg they are just downright busted. The Thing hallways in that map make it so that if you see a zombie you have to either take another route or waste a pallet/flashlight on the zombie. Overall I'm happy with him, he's been a lot of fun to play.
He has to hit survivors 3 times if he wants to make use of his power. Combined with the provided speed boost this automatically makes him worse than pyramid head, and a couple other killers.
When the zombies work, they're great. When they don't, it feels like playing with rank 20 teammates all over again. I would feel better if they acted in a more consistent manner. But as of now they can get caught on everything, and can ignore survivors literally right next to them.
-
@justbecause said:
They're bots and they act as such
The survivor bots are smarter than them, and those walk straight into bear traps.
-
Got it yesterday, thank god.
Survivors are already adapting to Nemesis.
-
Ah yes, because ghosts are famously known for casting shadows.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think there just needs to be a better reason to have him be a 3 hit killer other than zombies.
Even then the zombies are heavily RNG. They can either be the sole factor carrying you through a match, or the dumbest things in existence.
-
A weaker version of pyramid head but with an RNG factor that is sometimes your sole saving grace in a match.

The fix will probably just adress the FPS issues that came with the RE update.
Optimization is still gonna be a huge problem
That and it feels naive to appreciate a corporate cutout of a damage control statement.

@Shroompy said:
Spine Chill's effect while quite strong but not OP, is kind of unhealthy for the game. It hard counters stealth killers, and stealth perks for killers. I honestly think the effect should only apply if you're in the killers terror radius.
As for Nemesis. I've played him A LOT on PTB and for a good bit of hours yesterday, he's a pretty decent killer and FAR from the worst. Yes it may take 3 hits to down a survivor how ever he recovers from a hit fairly quickly and moves a bit faster than your normal M1. He also is the only killer who can break a pallet and move at the same time, which saves quite a bit of time. Also you need to know how to aim well, its quite finicky but once you learn its gimmicks its quite easy to get hits consistently. A survivor being contaminated is actually very dangerous for them since they remove one of their health states that they can only regenerate 4 times, and thats shared between all survivors. (They also risk running into a Zombie while in chase, while not reliable its still something that can happen)
(Also Trickster is not the weakest killer in the game)
Hard to aim his tentacle lash when the game decides to freeze the moment I whip it out.
-
The zombies need to work in a more consistent manner. As of now it can go one of two ways in a match. The first, the zombies carry you to victory as you relax like a hedonist enjoying grapes. The second, they wander aimlessly and uselessly across the map while you fight for your life against four merciless survivors.

Tomorrow, I will be able to get nemesis to see how he is and maybe see more gamebreaking bugs while im at it.
Nothing really game breaking with him. He just has a really annoying freezing issue when he charges his tentacle strike.

We should not be punished for their faulty product. That is one of the reasons people hated the DC penalty being implemented.

Don't compare video games to dangerous drugs designed to keep people addicted. They're not remotely the same and you should know it.
You can uninstall a game from a PC and console and you'll stop playing it. You can't uninstall a drug addiction just by snapping fingers.
