Those people are going to learn very quickly what BHVR is like in terms of quality. Best to teach them that lesson very early on.

I think they are, everything seems to have gotten worse.
And it's going to get worse, until it gets so bad that they can't ignore it without giving the middle finger to the console community. ( more than they already have )

I remember you and your list :)
Yeah,it's unfortunate. That happens when your issues get ignored year after year 😧
It sucks that essentially nothing has worked in regards to getting BHVR's attention. It seems they are dedicated to ignoring console optimization.

Yeah, chieften133 or something. Great guy (or girl), but never saw him again some time later. Maybe he got banned.

Cool,BHVR always knows how to outdo themself in the worst way possible 👏
Labor of Love btw
I remember a while back when I was known under a different username. One that was briefly famous for making a list. You were so full of hope back then.

behaviour interactive is still an indie company that can't quite get licensed character models right nor fix bugs that have stayed for years so don't expect much from them. they are doing their best haha
If they're doing they're best, then I would hate to see their worst.

Asking for a functional game? That's asking a lot from BHVR.

This post aged like fine milk.

Wow, DBD being poorly optimized? Who could have possibly known this?

Of all the potential maps that could have been made when utilizing something with such a huge range of options as Resident Evil BHVR chose to create yet another indoor map with tight spaces. It seems that's all they know how to do anymore when it comes to maps. They have zero creativity left in them. I wish I didn't love this game so much otherwise because BHVR is stagnant when it comes to originality.
Honestly they should have done the raccoon city streets. Would have made for a much more interesting map than RCPD.

Gotta love how hard BHVR is ignoring this thread.

I hope they didn't nerf console blight, they just made him playable.

That would help if my ps4 could actually download it in less than a day.

BHVR really needs to announce everything they're going to change in the PTB. That way we can give them crap for changes that clearly have no thought behind them.

Probably too much spaghetti code or they wanted everything to interact the same in which case that would indeed be a poor decision
But this is likely due to the spaghetti code
BHVR really needs to hire people to fix that crap. I wouldn't trust them to fix it without breaking the game entirely.

They changed the perk because of Nemesis. MandyTalk explained it in the other thread. It destroys the vaccine, which would mean Franklin's would be too strong on Nemesis.
Maybe they could have made the vaccine an exception instead if nerfing a perk that was fine?

The thing is - some objects having bad collision or no collision whatsoever can actually help, it's basically a question of getting used to it and getting more and more knowledge about his power and many tricks it provides. So-called "buttery" objects, when used right, can actually be the primary reason of getting a hit on the survivor. Then again, consistency would be good, sure, but I don't know how easy or hard the process of making right collisions for one single killer actually is.
They changed it to be based off of his basic attack hit detection. So if you could slap it with your weapon, then you could slam into it.
Plus why would you not want a power to be consistent???

The geography change scares me. You ever try to pounce uphill will victor? That ######### don't work for me lil fuker moves 1 inch from where he was and gets kicked. It has happened 3/3 times I have been in the situation and I barely play twins anymore. Not sure if it's still a thing, was just me, a console thing, or I was high who knows.
Yeah it's still a thing, and nemesis suffers from it as well. His tentacle lash has no upward slope when hitting against sloped environements like the basement stairs.
-
That anniversary stream was for the most part useless. Sure, they announced a handful of cool things on stream. But what is the point of announcing those things if you can't show even small examples of what you're announcing?
That mori change? We hardly know how it'll work other than the fact that it'll now be a natural part if the trial.
The boon totems? They didn't say anything beyond the fact that it'll be the same as a hex totem but for survivors.
The geography change? Essentially nothing was said other than it'll make maps less flat.
They had nothing to show for these announcements. With the only announcement worth any value being what they showed for the resident evil chapter and the anniversary event.
-
I do, personally i love how dbd is expanding the lore. DBD's lore left much to be desired when the game first came out. I wanted to know more than just "sacrifice for spoder god."
I just wish the observer's story was in chronological order. Bit annoying having to piece that together chronologically across all tomes.
-
Sorry bro, Blight just had a better gaming chair.

They've been like this for years unfortunately. I really think they're just hoping that the game will magically fix itself, the playerbase will stop caring, or last gen players will leave. Do they not understand that getting a PS5 or Series X is not easy at all? You either have to get lucky or drop almost $1000. I was one of the lucky ones to grab a PS5 but I'll still fight for optimization. I absolutely hate it when a version of a game struggles performance-wise and it's not due to hardware limitations. We all know that last gen consoles can run games that are much more demanding than DBD (RDR2, CODs, the recent RE games, and the PS4's insanely good-looking exclusives for example) with nowhere near as many problems, so the hardware being older can't be the main issue. If the devs actually cannot optimize console any further and this is the best we're getting, then they should just come out and tell us.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2268628#Comment_2268628
Same here, you can never tell with this community. It's crazy.
At this point if all I've heard about the coding of DBD is true, the only thing they can hope for is for it to fix itself.

-
It is, I was just tired and forgot to add context for the people who need it to know what I'm talking about.
-
How about we don't hijack someone else's post?
-
So basically, you hit them to make them run to another pallet???
Pardon me, but that is already what would happen when you go against a good survivor. They won't waste a pallet just to stun you when they know they can get more distance if they can just keep running.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
As others have stated, their silence to me speaks volumes
They're not gonna do it. They've decided to run out the clock and let the last gen game die out as people upgrade to new consoles. There's literally no other reason to not say something about it at this point except that they're hoping people will just...get bored and wander away as their customers buy Series Xs/PS5s
Ultimately we'll never know unless they say something. Which, like you, I doubt they will.

Freddy was certainly unique, but I feel like people put him on a pedestal for no reason other than nostalgia.
Freddy was the only killer that had to wait before he could even begin to attack a survivor in chase. Even after he put them to sleep he was just a basic M1 killer who could be looped the same as the rest.

Both are true, but you're claiming a grandfather clause. I don't see why the length of time something has been in the game should have any bearing on whether or not it's balanced. DS was broken for years before it was nerfed.
DS was being complained about constantly for years by a majority of the community.
Bamboozle only has the occassional person pipe up about it. Such as our annoyed OP here.
-
@Seraphor said:
Well... considering that Bamboozle is still better than Crowd Control, which is a Hex... it probably should get some kind of nerf to be fair. Maybe a 30-40s cooldown.
Or maybe... and bear with me here... just maybe, the hex is weaker than a perk that has existed for 3 years?

@ALostPuppy said:
That's something I hadn't actually thought about for some reason. Idk if there's a lOrE explanation as to why it's just a brick wall but it is a little boring. Themed walls is a neat idea though that I'm surprised they didn't think of doing for the map reworks. I also thought maybe it could be the entity itself surrounding the map, so it's just a big black entity-looking wall that's animated.
Originally it was just the macmillan estate in dbd. It was the first map to have assets fully made, and BHVR was very fond of reusing assets back then. So the stone walls stuck around for a very long time. Even in maps that severely mismatched that theme.
Then macmillan estate was remade, and the stone walls with them. But at least with some of the maps we have variation in the boundary.

Instasaw wasn't viable?
Anyway, Hillbilly does need buffs - here's what I'd do.
1. Full add-on rework. Again. Too many of them do nothing, hurt Billy, or have incredibly minimal effects. Add chainsaw cool-down add-ons, slightly increased movespeed while revving, things that actually help rather than "Cool down faster when a flashlight is shining on you". While you're at it, include some kind of addition to the Engravings to reduce heat from revving so double engravings aren't dead.
2. Overheat now equates to charge time. The higher heat the Chainsaw has, the faster it charges. Charge time increases in intervals of 20% heat, and at 80% heat or higher will have a reduced charge time of 1.8 or whatever number of seconds rather than 2.5. This would make Overheat less of a frustration mechanic and more of a risk-reward, rewarding Billies for keeping their Chainsaw high on heat with potentially easier downs, with the risk of fully Overheating being something to watch out for.
3. Remove the roar. If it must stay, then have it only play on successful chainsaw hits. It is unnecessary and ear-grating, as well as giving even more info to the survivors on when to dodge.
I would kiss you for those buffs if your profile picture wasn't plague.

They missed an amazing opportunity to add unique chase music to the Huntress in her previous changes.
You never know, they might do it when they update her model.

While we're nerfing killer perks we should add a pig nerf on top of it ... just for good measure

Cranky cause you got outplayed with bamboozle?

@SilentPill said:
I don’t even know why it has an overheat, other than to make people buy Leatherface and blight
I think the main point of it was to punish the overuse of the chainsaw. Which I find funny because his whole power IS the chainsaw. So you're essentially getting punished for using the chainsaw.
-
Probably your internet if it's still happening now.

I'm not sure if my decision was worth it, I'm not all that great at the game and I feel like I just erased all my progress if the sacrifice doesn't really pay off.
There really is no payoff, I suggest you wait until the devs make prestiging more rewarding.
As of now the percentage bonus that it provides for the bloodweb is so minimal it might as well not exist.

I advocate for killers having a suicide option.

I mean, the fog whisperer thing is one of the most useless things i've ever seen.
It's just a marketing tool to increase cosmetic sales
I remember the times otzdarva has forward stuff to behavior. Only for nothing to be done about what he sent to them.
Same can be said for the others in a way too. Some of them know this game like the back of their hand, and behavior ignores their advice and suggestions and moves forward with many unpopular changes.

This too. It's always good to take a break from this game from time to time. A month, a week, a day, even a few hours (depending on how much you play). There was a while where I was playing like crazy, hours a day every day, and sometimes I'd get a bad run of really irritating and unfair play several matches in a row. I got fed up and said "Alright. Enough. This is pissing me off. ######### it, that's it for today". I found that the next time I played I wasn't anywhere near as angry, and I also had a better run of matches.
In a game with this many players and this many variables, sometimes luck is just totally NOT on your side. When that happens, and it's really starting to get to you, it's best to step away for a while. It happens to most, if not all of us, at some point or another.
Yeah, feels like people let this game get into their heads too much.
I also get the feeling we might have fallen for a God tier bait post.
-
If you hate it so much don't play it, sometimes it's as simple as that.
Alternatively, if you want to keep playing, don't let a couple of bad actors screw up how you feel about the game as a whole. There are scumbags and tryhards in every game, DBD isn't special in that regard.
So the best thing to do is to not take everything so seriously, and take the occassional break.
-
Ah sluzzy, back at it again.

Perhaps.
I'm not on Twitter, and I doubt any influential people would want to pick this up.
If only some of the fog whisperers would be vocal about optimization, they hold at least a small amount of sway. Especially with the size of some of their communities.
-
BHVR is known to have a very "hands off" approach to their community when it comes to certain issues.
Color blindness was one of those issues, until a certain dev ticked the color blind community off with his statements.
Optimization has proven to be one of those issues, with little to nothing being done about it for about 2 years now.

There have been some reports of issues with performance on PS5 and Series X already.
Iirc, they were noted to occur more frequently on The Game and Lery's.
At the very least we can keep this thread up on the front page. Just so it can't be ignored.
At this point the blatant lack of optimization is ridiculous. Even more so when their 2019 statement is taken into account. The devs also said at one point that the map reworks also help with performance on that map, which in my experience is a total lie.
