I stopped playing since half a year ago because all the bullshit killers have to face (Yes I’m killer main). I was totally sick of it.

I just came here to see some updates.. holy they’re not good.. it seems like the game is now even more unfun for killers than before. I don’t have the slightest desire to play this game after seeing the updates.

Never felt so good to leave the game i loved before in my life. It feels like a relieve for not stuck in playing this game, to be honest.

PS: Just want to share my feelings here.. please don’t hurt me :). If anyone here happens to feel the same burden of playing killer, i advice you to take a break. It totally worths it (even if it feels bad for first or second week)

Hey, if you weren't having fun, It's a good thing you stopped sinking so many hours in.

I hope you've found something you love!

    To Bennet_They1Them:

Thank you for your very elaborate commentary, it perfectly illustrates all your ideas.

    To ShadowNurseZFX:

I'm not one to wish ill on anyone, but I hope you get it, so next time you don't talk so lightly about something so serious.

    To both:

Also, what you both mean exactly with "low tier killers"? That the killers are too easy to use? That the killers are not frequently used? Or that a random website told you that they're low tier so you say it?

Whatever it means, a guy that knows how to play as killer an have the right perks for them, will make always a 4k

And it's kind of sad that both commentaries are about the nerfs to killers with kind of broken powers and you said nothing about the rest fo the post, that could be the most productive to the game, but... maybe it's my fault for try to fix this metagame where the killer tunnel and slug when the community is already too toxic for even care about.

    I appreciate that you're trying.

"Low Tier" means that the killer is pretty hard to use effectively, especially at higher levels of play.

For example, yes, a highly skilled player will do well with Legion against worse players, but Legion has the least intimidating power in the, as it has very low lethality or game slowdown.

Ever since the new boons got introduced, I have been absolutely struggling to keep the pressure up as the survivors keep re-booning the same old totems and making the entire map their healing zone with speeds that I simply can not match in injuring survivors.

Just 1-2 survivors carrying the healing boon perk is enough to make the game extremely hard to win, the likes that have not been seen in the history of DBD. People are literally making YouTube videos showing people just how ridiculous the healing speed can be in its max potential, which is as fast as pallet-breaking animation. How am I supposed to compete with that?! People can literally heal themselves up in mid-chase like no one's business.

I don't want to be forced to tunnel. Over half of the Killers that I used to play and enjoy are now facing impossible matches because their powers are not enough to deal with the boon users. It's like BHVR didn't think about Killers at all when designing this new perk.

Out of all the killers I have tried to fight against the boon survivors, only hag has come out strong enough to compete, as she can lay down traps to surprise and down injured survivors before they can reach boon zone. Everyone else is at the mercy of Boon squads without a chance of a fair fight.

Anyone else struggling against Boon survivors?

    try running undying.

  • I'll be silly and meme a bit sometimes, but I still play the game.

if people refuse to play, I just don't kill them to avoid being rude.

Next patch we'll get cameras for the basement so we monitor and abuse them from top floor

that'd actually be a cool power, being able to set up and monitor security feeds around the map. maybe control forces?

    Just had a hilarious match.

So, after getting matched against three extremely good full SWFs in a row, I queue up and see a full SWF of barcodes, two with legacy skins.

I go 'nope, hackers' and dodge the lobby.

I queue up again and get another full SWF.

Fine then. I grab my nastiest addons and perks.

I've got everyone on their second hook before they get their second gen done. Obviously just a bunch of chums, probably new, that queued up together. Why they got matched against me I have no idea.

Felt kind of bad, so let them farm.

    I guess I overreacted a little :).

How about you? Any decent stories from the last month?

I played a wraith match with devour recently, I hadn't played wraith in about a month, and I lost two gens in two minutes. I got a hook or two.

and then I turned it around.

    probably a swf.

I had people DC'ing by the end.

what if you could order legion members to stay in lockers, and if someone went into a locker, they'd be trapped in the locker for a while?

or, what if anyone who hid in a locker came out of the locker looking like legion to fellow survivors?

additionally, the real legion would be able to teleport between lockers.

  • @ShadowNurseZFX said:

ok so, this is part. 2 if you have seen part 1. im sure you will like this.

so the passive power. heres a new way u can do it.

you start the trial with 2 legions, 1 is in a locker, and 1 is well, you at the start of the game. every 2 minutes a legion spawns in a random locker. 4 minutes into the game you have all 4 legions and here's where the power comes into play. you can take control of the legions once every minute and when you do you receive a 2 second Q animation

( getting out of the locker for the first one on each legion, then just what he does coming out of his frenzy for the other animations)

Personally, i thought this was such a cool idea but im not sure ifi t would be game warping, it would just be a fun facade.

what if you could order legion members to stay in lockers, and if someone went into a locker, they'd be trapped in the locker for a while?

Sounds situational, if you have a boon near a hook, the killer will probably notice and snuff it out. If you light it next to a hooked survivor, why not just go for the rescue? I get if the killer is camping, but he's likely to notice if you are on a totem near him.

    it's called "camaraderie"

it's fun. No need for a boon.

just played a game vs an SWF

    My opinion :

    SWF = custom games only,

    or

reveal SWF in the lobby, to show who is grouped. Then the Killer can decide to stay to leave lobby.

SWF should be removed from matchmaking. You want to play with your friends? Get a friend to play Killer and abuse your friend. Don't abuse me, an innocent gamer trying to have a fun time.

made me want to quit and uninstall. all 4 got away, gen rushed me 3-4 gens in first 5 minutes. i hooked 2 people. one of them at start, and one at the end, but the other 3 came to save her with flashlights and full health and coordination. As I can only slash 1 person at a time with a basic attack cooldown, they all coordinated their attack to save her from different angles.

And about the Gens. When it was down to 1 gen, they left 1 gen at each corner of map, and they coordinated it perfectly. There was NOTHING, I REPEAT, NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO VS A COORDINATED SWF on DISCORD with microphones. Oh, you defend this gen? Fine, they tell their buddy on microphone in discord : "hurry hurry, killer is at my gen, fix yours!!!" ... and repeat. if you ever waste 10 seconds chasing any of them, they tell the others to repair. You can't even patrol. They will fix it due to perfect communication because survivors are at each gen telling the others.

made me want to uninstall. SWF is toxic.

    hey Shep.

    I totally get your frustration.

when I was just getting started, I got really worked up over swfs, since I thought it was cheating.

I think it's better to look at it as good teamwork on their end.

    SWF tips and tricks:

if someone clearly wants to be chased, leave them alone. especially if they're the obsession, even though you don't have an obsession perk.

when going to pick someone up, try looking at the ground, standing still for a second, and then listening for any survivors coming for the save. if there's one, you get a free hit. if not, you're likely good to go.

remember that communication can be a strength, and a source of false information.

there are perks to counter swfs getting in the way. PyamidHead, Plague, and Legion are basically designed with breaking up teamwork in mind. they're great at punishing teamwork.

on almost every SWF, there will be someone who is a weaker link in the chain. don't stop them from having fun by tunneling them into oblivion, but keep in mind the'll be the easiest to catch, the one mot likely to make mistakes, and are a liability.

    Good luck!

yeah, maybe they could fuse our ideas together as well, fake chases, and all but if you run into a legion it has a chance to be fake or real creating a fun guessing game. but if this happened, you got put into deep wounds in the healthy state. makes for fun mindgames but not much punishment and honestly can help survivors in cases

maybe you could forceswap locations with survivors you've tagged with feral frenzy, making it so that any survivor who's been hit by it could turn on you at any moment?

  • @ShadowNurseZFX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617254#Comment_2617254

I mean yeah, but it kind of is. there are 4 legions when you reach near end game. to be fair u wont get to that point often if you don't stall the game. it also just creates a more fun gameplay mechanic in my opinion. and they cant kill you like zombies can and they wont go for you like zombies do. but yeah. your idea also has merit. I think personally mines better but that is my opinion (and probably bias lol)

I think there is a chance that we both have some bias about our own ideas... but at least we both agree both ideas are pretty good. 😋

  • @ShadowNurseZFX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617242#Comment_2617242

I don't want to make legion like doctor. my idea is to make it so that legion can actually have some gen pressure with his 3 other legions roaming the map. at 57.5% m/s and I think this is actually a pretty cool change and would make the legion somewhat fun to play against. and its not a guessing game as the 1st legion spawns 2 minutes after the game starts. and survivors see the A.I legions aura for 4 seconds after it spawns

I think my second idea is probably better than my first.

  • @ShadowNurseZFX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617239#Comment_2617239

I never touched on the m/s I intend for them to walk around a half the speed of survivors with a terror radius, and they will not focus on you until you go near them then they will hit you, but they wont do anything else. and they cant put you to the dying state and will instead do deep wounds

I think that having an element of deception to legion would likely be more fun than adding further slowdown.

I'm not sure. I think having damaging AIs are kind of Nemi's thing, but no killer can disguise as a survivor, or disguise survivors as them.

your idea has merit, for sure, but I think that acting as a "wolf in the herd" could be more fitting for legion.

    thoughts?

  • @ShadowNurseZFX said:

Ok so you read the title and I am going to assume you have high expectations. so lets get into this!

    NEW: Passive power.

I have wanted to say this for so long but I have been planning on how to balance this out and here it is finally.

their passive power will be basically adding 1 legion to the map every 2-3 minutes. so Frank, Susie, Joey and Julie. (the legion) will slowly form and within 8-12 minutes of the round the whole crew will be there. now, what will they do? now my idea is to make them have a terror radius so that the survivor is always on edge (can rework iridescent button if this removes its purpose) however, this terror radius will NOT trigger star struck. it will only trigger star struck in your terror radius. and if you get too close to them they will hit you. however, they will not chase you. they will walk around the map. and if you run into them then bad luck.

    Frenzy

No changes needed, I think this is perfect as it is. apart from 1 detail. which is to make the deep wounds timer a bit lower. but in compensation nerf the respective add-ons to make them less add-on reliant.

    REWORKED Iridescent Button:

I Think this should have the ability to down survivors in your power but if you do so your power is disabled for 90 seconds. it will take 6-8 hits to down them as well.

Please let me know your thoughts. I would love feedback. I spent ages trying to balance the downing in power thing but I'm not sure if it would work out.

maybe make it so that the spawned legions are instead:

A: Fake (like doctor hallucinations) but they give a scare, activate terror radius perks, and maybe fake a chase (but can't damage)

B: make it so the fake legions are like a passive dark devotion with visuals. (spawn legion cosmetics and TR on survivors hit by feral frenzy)

Let me start saying that i never dc, but the game keeps disconnecting me from the host and i get punished for it. I read that after 12 hours the punishment is a little lower, but 12 hours have passed and the punishment only increased, I would like to know when it will be only 5 minutes again. I'm currently on the 3 day ban (I had stopped playing, but due to a bug fix that happend this week i thought the disconnect bug had been fixed (it wasn't)), and it doesn't help that BHRV only answers my emails with an automatic message, ignored my tweets message and my thread on the bug report forum, I'm scared to play this game again as I fear a permanent ban for something beyond my control.

yeah, I took a month off because of the same issue.

    that did reset the penalty.

honestly, I think they should keep it at 5 minutes tops. real life could be getting in the way, and 5 minutes means that someone who DC's because things aren't going their way can't immediately requeue.

  • @Dack said:

Here you have some ideas to balance the gameplay and make it less disgusting:

    • Avoid tunnel: Hook the same survivor in a row will not give points, instead it will subtract points.
    •  Avoid slug: The recovery progress made from a survivor in the dying state will be equivalent to the progress of the wiggle (If you recover the 72% on the dying state, you will only need to wiggle the 28% remaining).

Now that some improvements have been made for make the gameplay cleaner, it's time to help the killers a bit with:

    • Avoid frustrating chases: Bloodlust will be not lost after break pallets or walls. It will be lost if the killer gets stun.
    • Avoid generators rush: The repairing speed of generators are slower. Also, survivors at the lobby will have restricted one item type per survivor. (To avoid the “Built to Last + 4 Toolbox combo” or 4 lanterns compositions)

Also, for make the game more like teamplay game:

    • The longer a survivor is in the hook, the more points are taken away from the team. (This will prevent survivors from rush the generators and avoid help their teammates)

Also, some killer powers need to get a bit nerfed to not be that overpowered:

    Plague:

    • After hit a survivor with the Ingest Corruption, it runs out.
    • You no longer need to cast to get the Ingest Corruption. You can take it by being near a Pool of Devotion (But still need to click, so you choose if take it or not).

    Trickster:

    • After putting a survivor into the injured or dying state with the power, it runs out and lose all charges.
    • The starter blades are reduced to 30.

    Ghost face:

    • You only get undetectable by being crouch.
    • You only can stalk from corners.

    Legion:

    • Hitting a survivor with Feral Frenzy active no longer put it into the injured state, only inflict deep wound.

    Pig:

    • Survivors with a bear trap will now have only one Jigsaw box marked to take it out. That Jigsaw box will precise more time to take out the bear trap and will have harder skill checks. Also, if you fail those skill checks, only will roll back quite the progress bar but no alert the killer.
    • The bear traps will be activated once you get unhook, and you will have 90 seconds to take it out.

    Cenobite:

    • The Cenobite will be now forced teleported to the Lament Configuration once this will be resolved.
    • If you’re in chase and the Chain Hunt is active, you’ll not suffer it.

    Miscellaneous changes:

    • Nightmare new feature: You can choose from use Dream Pallet or Dream Snare before the game starts.
    • Boon totems will now get destroyed by the killer instead of snuff out. Also, the sound range is reduced to the same as a Hex totem.
    • When a survivor enters in struggle phase, the animation will no longer lock the camera.

    Possible new features:

    • Minigames (All minigames will still letting the survivor move the camera to monitor the surrounding):
    1. Chests: To open chest will pop up a lockpicking minigame instead of holding the M1.
    2. Clean totems: To clean totems will pop up a minigame where is an image of a totem tied by ropes and you’ll have to cut the ropes in an order to clean the totem.
    3. Bless totems: To bless totems will pop up a minigame where is an image of a totem and you’ll have to draw some glyphs in the skulls to bless it.
    4. Repair generators in the wires side: To repair the generators from the wires side, will pop up a minigame where you need to connect cables in an order continuously.
    5. Repair generators in the pistons side: To repair the generators from the pistons side, will pop up a minigame where you need to pull up and down 3 switches (until you find the right combination) continuously.
    • Change the dynamics of repairing generators to something that has to do with the theme of the map, e.g.:
    1. In the Yamaoka Estate, make 5 rituals instead of repair 5 generators.
    2. In the Léry's Memorial Institute, repair 5 wall machines instead of generators.
    • Killers playable by 2 players but extremely hard to use, e.g.:
    1. The Double head: One player controls the movement and the camera of the killer while the other player controls the M1 and the skill. The skill could be something like: They both get chop in a half for X time, moving slower (since both walk jumping on the lame straw) but both being able to hit survivors. After X time they will start getting attracted one to the other until they joint again.
    2. The Twins: 2 playable killers united by a cord. Both can move independent but not separate more than X meters. The killer with human model will have to hit first to wound a survivor and send him to the other realm, so the killer with ghost model can hit the wounded survivor and put it down. Both shares hit cooldown, so if the human killer attacks, the ghost killer cannot perform an attack. (The human killer will have hitbox, but the ghost killer will not have it to avoid killers make a double hitbox block). Also, their skill could be something like: Both must get face to face to cast the skill. Once it is cast and activated, they will joint and will be able to double hit a survivor doing M1 + M2 (Both attacks will be independent of cooldown and will count like an attack each) but the human killer will be the one that takes control of the movement while the ghost killer will take control of both weapons (M1 and M2)

    I don't know about these...

most are already perks, or are big nerfs for low tier killers.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617111#Comment_2617111

I disagree, I think Circle of healing is just stronger.

1 person can have it, and the entire team has infinite healing.

Also, at the start, unless the killer has lethal pursuer if you coordinate, bless a totem, hide corrupt, you just got an advantage just hiding.

well, yes, running both boon perks is a good combo, especially for a swf, but for solo-Q, running inner healing is a good alternative for clutch healing.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

Pros of self care: you don't have to find and bless a totem, and you don't need to worry about all totems getting cleansed.

Pros of boons: if you know where a totem is, and get to it quickly, self healing is almost the same time of using slef care, and from now on everyone can heal there infinite times, and the killer doesn't know where the boon has been placed unless he sees you, and if he wants to snuff it he must waste time before chasing you if you're near it, or don't waste time but go to the other side of the map with you and then, after a hook/slug/chase lost, snuff it.

At this point my question is:

why is self care still a perk in the game if even for solos it's much better a circle of healing, and if for swf with boons and coordinated perks you can go completely nutts?

Even using the combo self care and botany it's still much better a boon, which is such a positive investment of time

or, better yet, inner healing, which is a generic perk now.

Just went against a pig who could never find me on this one gen because instead of running away i'd just walk, leaving no scratch marks.

In the end game chat she got really salty about not being able to find people and said something like "red ranks? only hide".

I went ahead and explained to her that ranks aren't even a thing anymore, and just because we didn't just stay in the open and get her a free position of our location, doesn't mean we don't have "skill".

I see a lot of people complaining about people who play stealthy, and I can understand that if the person is just hiding and not progressing the game, but that is not always the case.

If someone can be outplayed by someone being stealthy, I see it as a positive and a valid strat. If one can avoid a hit knowing the killer isn't great at searching, they should capitalize on that.

yeah. as long as people aren't holding the game hostage, I see no issue with stealth.

Lets get some things out of the way:

    I play killer/survivor at about 60/40.

Since boons came out I've been playing survivor more than killer and in games I play my boon, most people escape. SoloQ. Ive found Survivor to be way easier than killer lately

"Just do Bones" doesn't really work when you cant do the bones

All of this is simply based on my experiences and what I've seen from streams and youtube. Keep it Civil

If you're playing an M1 killer with boons your game just got infinitely harder. If you don't have an insta down you're pretty screwed. Yes, it only takes 2 seconds to disable, but that is a very disingenuous argument. All you have to do is place your boon away from gens or the killer's patrol path and your boon won't ever be destroyed creating a triage center for the whole team to reset. Leaving the gens to cross the map to break a totem is too much of a time sink when the killer is already juggling chases and defending objectives. And if you do break it, it'll be re-lit by the time you get back to defending gens. No killer is gonna leave their 3-5 gen to go break a totem on the other side of the map unless they don't care about throwing. People act like the killer is only losing a handful of seconds to clear the totem when in reality it's gonna cost them half a gen, or if in chase giving the survivor a 3-4 second lead. If you just happen upon it great, otherwise the timesink is massive.

Enter Plague. Plague sees your boon and laughs as she pukes on it. The amount of DCs I've gotten playing plague these last few days has been absolutely nuts, and it's always the person with CoH. If you're struggling against Boon Totems give Plague a go, you might have a much better time. The ToFu build where your puke lasts on objects for a massive amount of time is pretty fun to play and it keeps survivors constantly infected.

    I'm glad you're having fun!

I'd love to see it as the studio trickster watched his band mates burn in. The cubicle type structures double for recording booths and offices, and the large portal room can be an orchestra sized large recording room.

They already have the smoldering effects from the Crotus Prenn maps.

But considering that they had to change the names of the perks, I wouldn't be surprised if things like "map design and layout itself, even without licensed assets" are also part of the license with Netflix.

they could shuffle some stuff around. it's not like pallets are going to be licenced.

Why do these codes say "This code is not valid" and not "This code has already been claimed"? 🤔

it'd be nice if they didn't.

Did someone say Demo skin or am I miss hearing things again?

    🤔

sorry, I had headphones in. what are you saying?

    Best of luck to you!

Here's another Steve outfit code: 11c4ad01-a62f-4dc7-86f4-0704955b3b09

    thanks!

someone else got it, but thanks for letting me try! :) have a nice day!

Just to be clear, the fact that I'm tagging someone doesn't mean I'm sending the code to them, everyone has the same chances to get the code.

that's totally fair. I was just wondering.

    thanks for clearing that up!

I'll just keep lurking on the forums, then! :P : D

Well, you can try to get this Demogorgon character code: 096039d1-2b6d-44b1-a7d4-05eb828f4db4

I think people are picking up the codes instead of the people you're sending them to. that's fair, but other than lurking around the forums, is there some other way to pick up a code before someone else grabs it?

I think they’re better off leaving demo as it is. Maybe they could rework Hawkins Lab into an original map? Because that’s gonna be gone.

I think Hawkins could be cool if reskinned as a neon stage for trickster.

I kind of hope they take this as an opportunity to reskin or remake Demogorgon into an original killer. A suggestion I liked was Demogorgon as a Werewolf for instance.

    yeah.

I had a more than slightly dumb idea that a fey creature could be cool.

Yeah the codes are one time use, I'm sorry.

maybe you could send them as messages instead of discussion responses?

    just an idea.
