Would love to hear peoples opinions on this,I play both equally and enjoy both.Would say it’s easier to rank up as survivor, but does that mean much.?.
both or neither, depending on how seriously you take the game and/or how closely you stick to the meta.
the chiller you are and the less meta you play, the more fun you'll probably have. (that goes for me, at least)

So there have been a lot of talk of campers on here, and I have been a big advocate that proxy camping is not a problem, waiting for the save and then going on the chase. This keeps you busy, spreads the love and gives the survivors a chance to save and play. I normally get more hooks, even if I lose the game, but when I get a 4K I know I have earned it.
Face camping is a big no, because it's boring, spoils the game for all and is not worth it. Why get one hook and about 10K of blood points, when I can get multiple hooks and over 30K or more and have more fun.
I have been playing for about a month, so up until tonight I have only met a few face campers, the proxy campers I respect, even if the tunnel me, after all three survivors doing gens if better the four. I have met a few campers, normally Bubba's which I understand an bit, and one streamer who I had looped for a while in another game and he did not catch me, although he tunnelled me, who actually took time to find me in another game, just to get me down and then stood in front of me, hitting me with axe. I think I met somebody the other day who was just bad and camped me, but got off hook and left. And one last night who I ended up 4%, being on a hill by gate with wraith stood in front of gate, injured but with med kit, and as the others left, hatch spawn right behind me.
Today a friend and I played for six hours. We had no boon totems, I had the usual build of sprint burst, kindred, borrowed time, resilience, my friend had no perks or addons because of Steam achievements, but in six hours of playing, one game did not involve a face camper, whether it was us or some random person who just joined in lobby somebody was face camped, and these was on 4 and 5 gens. Then when you saw their loadouts, it was BBQ and Chilli, NoEd, Ruin, Iron Grasp, No way out, then offerings like Mori, iridescent or very rare addons. Some was console players, some PC, some low ranks who I can understand a bit if the can't chase, some high red ranks. We had Bubbas, a Trickster who actually stood in front of me and threw knives, somebody had a Huntress throwing hatchets, we had a Legion, but to be fair it was an indoor map and they was having a hard time getting a kill, but many others did not even give chase much, got one lucky hit, hooked and then would not leave the hook, even when other players stood looking.
It does not bother me if they really want to face camp, it give me time to browse the web inbetween and all the time the killer is with me, the rest of the team can watch kindred and carry on with gens. When the gens are done they can rescue me and we can leave, or I die and the killer gets one kill, but it seems like the problem is growing and with more and more survivor players getting fed up with it, how long before people decide to leave the game.
People moan about players who DC, it is so easy on a console to hit the off button. Even with a 24 hour ban and come back the next day, or never. The problem is not with people who DC, its the way people play.
Now I know some killer mains will say about gen rushing, which we was not, in fact we was spending time doing totems, chests and things for challenges. It was just because they was either that bad, wanted to play to spoil the game, or thought it was the only way to get a kill and think it was a win.
Something needs to be done about face camping.
yeah. Maybe a perk/passive that makes it so your hook status doesn't decrease/decreases considerably slower while the killer is within 4/8/12 Meters? Maybe you could actually get more time when you get hit on hook as a bit of a meme.

I hate that the only thing you can do is teabag, point and beckon. If you try to point at any killer that isn't Pig I feel like they get confused. They've never been shown affection before and don't know what to think or do about it. I'm fine if they kill me, but I want Pyramid Daddy to know that I was not bullying, I only wanted him to know I appreciated quality time with him.
That goes for other killers too.
It would be great if there was a way to send positive vibes their way. Maybe not to the point where people are throwing, but sometimes there are moments during 50/50's where you're just staring at each other for a moment trying to think of what you're going to do next/what they're going to do which would be a great time to just send some love.
As it stands right now as a survivor you can only die, teabag, or wreck them.
We, as a forum should brainstorm some!
Maybe ghostface could have one where he pulls out his camera and looks at photos? (maybe a second one that lets you take photos while stalking!)
Maybe Legion could have one where they wipe their blade on their mask, like in the release trailer?
Doctor could have one where he shocks himself and cackles a bit.
Plague could have one where she does a little chant (like the one when she starts a mori).
Huntress could check the balance of a hatchet.
Slinger could hold a bullet up, and then toss it aside. another one would just be spitting.
Myers could do... nothing. (I think that's honestly the best for him)
Twins could do the little hand hold thing that they do in the lobby finding screen.
generally, I'm thinking one related to their power, and one that's a mocking/silly threat.
thoughts?

well yeah, i dont care about ds to be honest im here for noed, I am just using the argument of many killer players and my experience on post match chat :)
I think noed functions well as an easy mode if it gets triggered, but still serves its purpose within the story of the match as long as it isn't abused by pairing it with camping.
I do think that it'd be nice if all the survivor perks that trigger once a gate is opened instead triggered when the last gen is completed.

If the killer is camping especially in the basement, it's better to keep working on gens.
Sometimes even Borrowed Time can't save the situation.
I suggest you to use Kindred. it will show you what is going on around you. where the killer is going, what your teammates are doing and if one of them are going for the save.
When you're injured, you want to use Iron Will to hide well and escape from the chase.
You can use it with Lucky Break to make it even harder to find you.
Decisive Strike can be a good pick as well but it will not help you much, because the killer will not let go of your tail anyway unless you are really good in the chase and they are leaving you for someone else.
Against campers always focus on gens and finish them as fast as possible. hide whenever you need and escape without waiting for anyone. this is the only way i know, sometimes i manage to do it and sometimes not it's depends on our teammates as well.
thanks!

If I play 50 matches a day and disconnect only once, it means I have only abandoned 2% of my matches. Whereas if someone else plays 5 matches a day and quits once, it would be 20% of their matches, yet we both get punished equally.
On top of that, if I continue playing 50 matches the next day and disconnect only once, and it happens to be less than 24 hours since my last disconnect, then my penalty gets reset and stacked!
Why doesn't the penalty take into account all the games that I did play without leaving and reduce the time remaining on my 24-hour countdown, so I can remove a penalty stack sooner? Why just punish bad behavior and not reward good behavior?
Killers have been camping and tunneling since the game's release, yet you don't punish them for it. Instead you reward them if they don't camp & tunnel (BBQ & Chili), and you even reward them if they do camp & tunnel (NOED).
I think they should just make it so there's a flat 5-10 minute ban whenever you dc. It doesn't go up, or down. long enough to bug people who just give up, but short enough to be accommodating for laving matches with hackers or internet issues.

If you're running into that many facecampers, then maybe try running:
- Saboteur
- Deliverance
- Decisive Strike
- Breakdown
If you think you're about to get downed, go to the closest hook and sabo. If that fails, unhook yourself. If that fails, hit them with the DS stun. If that fails, hope that the killer can't get to the next hook in time.
Deliverance and DS should be a good enough combo though.
thanks! I'll try!

Does anyone else feel that, other than the breakable wall to nullify the infinite, that the reworked main building is arguably worse to chase survivors in? Especially the slants into/out of the building that have tiny pieces of rubble that stop you from hitting a survivor or just cutting them off in general. Making it so you have to run around a side window loop three times or let them get to one of the many pallets in the building.
it'd be nice if the piles of rubble didn't have semi-invisible walls, but other than that being a Qol thing, I think it's fine overall.

@Laluzi said:
It's one thing to try to reimagine Nemesis, but the restrictions you've provided don't allow room for that. The zombies are easily the lesser portion of Nemesis's power - the tentacle is the bulk of his strength, and contamination is a system meant to limit its power rather than strengthen it. The point is, you can't really keep the tentacle and add anything meaningful onto his power, because being able to hit survivors through windows and pallets with really high reactivity and break pallets with very little time investment is a big deal.
Nemesis is just way too dangerous in his 'real' incarnation to be translated properly to DBD. It's like a reverse power creep. He's not something that can be handled by a group of four ordinary people, some pallets, and a flashlight, but to be in DBD he has to be. Add in that there are already killers that do full-tilt charging around and killers can't just be reskins of previous killers, and adding a rush ability on top of a ranged attack would be highly unbalanced (to say nothing of a rocket launcher, or mutating into a massive monster as the match goes on) and yeah.
I was honestly mostly joking, but then I just ran with it.

- They don't know how to properly play their game at a high skill level
- It has been 5 years and nothing has changed, i mean the changes they brought to the game are meaningless balance wise
- The global game design will never allow a real balance, either the survivors won't be able to hold any chase and it will be a bad experience for them, either they still have the features to hold a chase and it will be a terrible experience for killers
- Mind game is almost never involved : looping is a dumb mechanic, no need to brain, just know the timing, killer can try to mind game but it won't bring anything positive most of the time as survivors can see most of the killer's moves with the 3D view
That's the reality. BHVR has never balanced the game because they know they cannot do it as it is impossible with the current design. They just don't admit it.
maybe it's not really meant to be balanced?
I think DBD is more of a platform for storytelling than it is a competitive game.
I mean, the game, when played in a meta way, is usually less scary.
a facecamping bubba will basically never be scarier than an insidious blight/legion, for example.
I don't know, that's just how I see it.
the game really could use a few balancing changes tho.

It's pretty clear the next killer involves birds, and the chapter being named "Portrait of a Murder" strengthens that since a group of crows is called a murder. The Crow
The Murder
The Harpie
The Morrigan
The Avian
The Artist
The Ogre
The Swamp Master
The All-Star
The Smash
The Tool
The Shed
The Crow is probably most likely. that or The (Argentinian mythical crow name).

So I am thinking either you get it on the regular or seldom if ever, seems like a server problem. Since it isn't my internet connection I'm wondering if we can determine the bad node or server which people in regions get routed through. Does anyone know of an app which will show you which server you are being routed through?
On the plus side once in a blue moon I get a game which runs super smooth and it is like I've entered a god-mode cheat because my character is super responsive and my game runs like a dream; no lag for prompts and fewer crazy hitbox bad hits. I would love to be able to play like this all the time because it is way more fun.
Lag either decides "you're playing spirit now" regardless of which killer I queued as, or the game plays smoothly and perfectly.
that, or I have over a 1000 ping (not hyperbole) and I dodge the lobby and wait a while.

So I know grades are different to mmr. I'm just saying if I got 4 iri emblems as a rank 1 grade you would assume I played well? Or no?
Basically i got paragraph and paragraph over hate on how i done nothing all game, I'll write pretty much the game below if you wish to read it just curious if you think 4 iri emblems is proof enough.
So the game: killer was blight, I forget the perks but wasn't anything crazy, I know he had pop (no ruin etc.)
In total of gen progress that I done was 5 gens, we did not finish all 5 gens (got the last one to 95% before being chased off at endgame) the reason for this is he kept popping my gens. I finished 3.
I got 2saves and 2 and 1/3 of healing, the 1/3 was a slug and the 2 was of the hook.
I had 2-5 chases, while not many It wasted the killers time and he never got a hit, the reason its 2-5 is he would get distracted by me and then give up not long after. This is due to him struggling to get me and was smart not committing to me. I'm happy to get chased, I love it! But I couldn't force him to do it and it was smart, so I focused hard on those gens as no one else seemed to be doing it.
It felt like my team was struggling in chase and often went for altruism and always needing to heal. So I tried my best to progress gen wise, was close to the last one but the other two got downed within 5seconds of each other, hooked and died. I was chased by the killer, mindgamed my scratch Mark's and found hatch.
Did I deserve the mass amount of hate? Or did I do the right move?
Side note: I dont care about the hate, if had a blast playing today just curious what people thought.
if you had fun, then that's a win in my books.
you did your best, the game rewarded you, and you had fun. sounds great!

I'd like you to choose a better RE map that also fits with DBD's lore. It's unique. People need to chill the hell out about it. Once I learned the loadout I wreck on that map. I love it. From my experience getting 100% and hundred of hours on most main RE games there really isn't any better maps for the people that don't like it. Like I absolutely hate Hawkins personally. I do not want it removed. It's not like I get it every game and when I do I just play differently. For fun. That's just whay people have to deal with. It's nowehere near as bad as some exaggerate. But anyways I'll bring up a list of maps that some might say would fit better and I'll be realistic about what maps had any chance based on what we have with the chapter right now.
Raccoon City (RE3)
The Village (RE4)
The Village (RE5)
This is all assuming they would go super accurate with these maps as well
Raccoon City might sound good on paper from RE3R but trust me. It would go from people saying it's survivor sided to being more killer sided than Dead Dawg by a mile. It's EXTREMELY small and EXTREMELY tight. Survivor should be #########. It's an outdoor map that feels indoors anyways.
The Village from RE4. Better than RPD. Very weird layout for DBD though. Also has the problem of being really small and linear. If the killer wants to get to a gen, he'll get there because he just wants to easily. I
The Village from RE5 is probably even tighter than that. Extremely poor layout for DBD in my opinion.
The problem with the last 2 maps are that why would they choose RE4 and RE5 anyways? So we could cross thos off as possibilities anyways. So it's basically just RPD and Raccoon City. Only 1 is fitting.
how about the village from village?

I'm gonna be the opposite side of the coin in this discussion, but I love the RCPD map. As someone who has overly played RE 2make and RE 3make, I've long since memorized the layout of the entire building and never get lost. There's lots of places to hide plenty of safe pallets for the survivors, and it's a indoor map with lots of twists and turns so its good for stealth killers, and that ignoring the phenomenal totem spots for Hex and Boon items. And I LOVE its visual design. It's one of my favorite maps
I even had a perfect RE game there once. I was Nemesis against Leon, Claire, Jill, and Chris.

Mini-rant/feedback. Not sure what the point is. The devs know by now how most people feel about the RPD map.
I played killer for the first time in two weeks. Actually had some fun games. Then I loaded into RPD on Nurse. Why does this map exist at all? This is the most horrendously unfun map in any game I can remember. So yeah. I'll put the game down for a little bit again. It's pointless to be play and be put in a situation where I have to either play RPD or take a d/c penalty.
I had a pig match where I was running the interview tape and Rules Set #2 (because, honestly, it's a fun combo) and the SWF group I was going against sent us to RPD. 4 DCs within 30 seconds. it was hilarious.

So I’ve been playing this game since 2017 and one thing I loved to do for both survivor and killer was get to rank 1 after every rank reset which sometimes resorted in me having to play extremely focused / sweaty, especially on the killer side of things. With time this became tiresome and it started to suck the fun out of my games, especially after the implementation of MMR.
So now, whenever I’m playing killer I remove every gen regression perk and focus more on chase perks or perks to try to meme around with to see if I can get certain combinations to work in my favour. This has removed all of my killer stress and I no longer prioritise getting a 4K over my own enjoyment.
Last night I played as Deathslinger on Gideon Meat Plant using M&A, Sloppy, Nurses and Franklin’s and I actually ended up getting a 3K. It just happened organically and felt so nice. I just don’t want to feel stressed out when playing games. I’m here for the fun.
Has anybody else adjusted their play style since MMR?
that was basically always how I played.
I've always played for fun, for archives, and for scares.

How many fountain exists on the map? Like I could go around the entire match without using one and seems like Survivors never runs out of these stuff. Only time I get my corrupted puke is when the game forces me to so this is odd. Is there a timer on fountains and it has a filter? What add ons are considered good?
Also mindbreaker is awesome.
Mindbreaker is fun, for sure. I think the only way to improve it's paranoia factor would be to have it inflict oblivious, which would be OP.
as for plague:
Green = infect (they have to cleanse or they become broken and contagious)
Red = damage for a health state.
Fountains:
White aura: you can go and get red puke from it.
no aura: no one has cleansed yet. once an infected survivor does, it'll become white.
automatic red: all fountains have been used. they'll all reset now. (avoid this at all costs! you lose a ton of pressure!)
