They said 'rework'. Hopefully in the same vein as Plague (who went from one of my least favorite killers to a new favorite). Survivors just have no idea how to deal with her and her iri addon that lets you see people puking...holy crap is that fun.

I actually like most of their addons.

    that's super cool!

BTW, you said you had a youtube channel, what was it again? I was hoping to check it out.

  • Wait, Legion's getting an addon rework? that's awesome!

  • @StarLost said:

After Legion, which seems to be at least semi-confirmed as the next reworked killer (please keep the fun addons at least!) which killer should be up after that?

    I'd like to see:

Pyramid Head. He works...fine as a killer. A bit predictable and stolid, but not terrible. His addons though are so, so bland.

    PH and Slinger

their addons are passably strong, but incredibly boring.

No problem! Nemesis is really fun to go against so I love helping out new ones.

    :D

    Nurse

Her lore is based around taking breath from people. It would only make sense to have an addon that causes exhaustion.

They can replace the 3 blink addon with it.

maybe precise blinks into hits cause exhaustion for 30s?

  • @DelsKibara said:

Alright, let me run down my killers in rotation:

    Wraith

Ultra Rare ~ "Blink" - Spirit

    Completely removes the Wraith's shimmer.

Your footsteps now create a trail of smoke.

Part of the reason why I want this is because I am purely a sucker for jumpscaring survivors. It's why I love Jumpscare Myers so much. So Wraith having an Ultra Rare that just removes the shimmer effect but also gives him the same trail of smoke they're planning to give Spirit sounds pretty fun honestly.

    Huntress

    Ultra Rare ~ Iridescent Handle

Successful hits will grant you 1 hatchet.

Part of what makes Huntress really good is her range. So why not give her an add-on where, if she is good enough, she never has to have any downtime at all? Imagine not being able to feel safe around her because you know if she hits you, that hatchet is coming back right into her pocket. That sounds absolutely lovely.

    Doctor

    Ultra Rare ~ "Control" - Carter's Notes

Survivors inflicted with the Madness 3 Status Effect has their controls reversed.

I want this purely so Madness 3 is just absolutely a pain to go up against. Imagine a scenario where someone is one shock away from Madness 3 and before they could vault a window, they run backwards into the Doctor's arms. That just sounds so cool and I wish they add add-ons that mess with your controls in the future.

    Cannibal

    Very Rare ~ Meat Hook

Increase movement speed when carrying a survivor by 20%.

Bubba and Texas Chainsaw Massacre practically gave DBD the idea of hooking survivors. Why isn't there more references to his meat hooks? Also, would make Bubba more viable with Starstruck builds.

    Nightmare

Ultra Rare ~ The Original Claws

    Reverts Freddy to Old Freddy

I want this purely so I can play him again. I miss Old Freddy.

    Pig

Ultra Rare ~ Hoffman's Reverse Bear Trap

One Survivor starts with a bear trap that cannot be taken off.

Bear Trap timer increased to 9 minutes.

This is purely to reference the final Reverse Bear Trap scene. Hoffman liked unfair games, and so does Amanda. So having an add-on where one survivor is GUARANTEED to die in 9 minutes if all gens are not done at that point feels appropriate. And gens flies anyways, it's up to the Pig to drag the game for as long as 9 minutes for the Survivor's head to pop.

    Clown

    Rare ~ Finger Keychain

Gain a speed boost of 3% for 5 seconds for everytime a bottle directly hits a survivor.

I want this purely to reward skillful Clown hits. Getting bottle hits directly is rough as Clown, so having a little reward for it in the form of an add-on feels fair to me.

    Legion

    Ultra Rare ~ Iridescent Blade

Survivors who have been hit once by Feral Frenzy can be hit once more to apply Deep Wound Damage.

I mainly want this to have a bit of Old Legion back. Not to make him incredibly overpowered, no. But so it can feel like I am giving several stab wounds consecutively to Survivors. That is what attracted me to Old Legion and I want a bit of it back. Plus, it'd make Deep Wound Study a bit more viable and his power could realistically DOWN someone. Maybe.

    Oni

    Very Rare ~ Bloodied Kanobo

Survivors who are injured and hit during a Demon Strike are hindred for 90 seconds.

I want getting hit with Oni's Kanobo to be a bit more punishing than just getting downed. I want it to feel like the survivors are seriously injured, even if they are supposedly "healed up" if they get slugged. This gives Oni a chance to catch them again if they plan on slugging.

    Deathslinger

    Ultra Rare ~ Iridescent Bullet

The Redeemer has two shots before it can reload.

One of THE BIGGEST timesinks of playing Deathslinger is reloading. So having an Ultra Rare that allows you to potentially down a survivor before reloading is a lot better than anything he has right now.

    Trickster

    Very Rare ~ Stage Shoes

Gain a speed boost of 1% for every knife you land on a survivor, lasts for 5 seconds.

One of the things that keeps Trickster from becoming consistent is his movement speed. He needs to have constant line of sight of his target so he can whack knives into him. So why not give him that speed in exchange for hitting his shots?

    Nemesis

    Ultra Rare ~ Rocket Launcher

    Gain a Rocket Launcher.

    Why? Why not?

    Pinhead

    Ultra Rare ~ Iridescent Chains

Cause chained survivors to double the time it needs to break a single chain.

You can still break chains with environments, it's just that if Pinhead catches you out in the open (which is pretty hard considering how fast his chains move), he'll most definitely down you.

    ---

There's a reason why a lot of the add-ons I want are Ultra Rare. I want Ultra Rares to actually impact heavily how the game is played. I want it to change how a Killer is played, how effective certain strategies are. It's why I'm disappointed in ######### like the Iridescent Umbrella Badge. It's not worth the ######### Ultra Rare.

    These are awesome.

  • @OhEtsu said:

Don't overcommit to your tentacle. You shouldn't always be trying to infect first thing since it gives a speed boost. Infect when it's actually a good idea to, which comes down to experience.

Run Ruin. Your zombies will force survivors off of gens for easy value, and it's a really good way to slow the game down.

Corrupt Intervention is really good as well since you have a slow start as Nemesis.

For add-ons, run Marvin's Blood and the yellow watch thingy that increases zombie FOV. What this does is having decrease the time it takes to get T3 early while simultaneously pushing survivors off of gens with the zombies that can track much better now, slowing the game down by a considerable amount, and even more so if you're running Ruin.

I would recommend running Monitor to get surprise infections on people as well. I run Monitor and it really helps. Plus his hands and tentacle look really cool with it.

Remember that your tentacle is basically a basekit 4 STBFL stacks whenever you hit someone with it, meaning that it's much more efficient to injure people with your tentacle rather than an M1. Be sure you can hit it though, otherwise you'll waste more time than you save.

Also remember that you can move around loops with your tentacle up to get a hit really well, especially in T3. You don't have to have LOS already to get a hit, you just have to make sure it's possible to get LOS after you pull it up.

Break pallets with your tentacle because it's faster, and pulling up your tentacle at pallets works really well for forcing a hit, since as I mentioned previously you can easily walk around loops with it up.

And last, don't, and I mean DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES chase survivors who have SB and hold W if they're not infected. That is a really easy way to lose. Don't chase map tiles like Jungle Gyms that essentially force you to become an M1 killer.

For a build I would recommend BBQ, Corrupt, Monitor, and Ruin.

    After this it's just practice.

    @bjorksnas said:

    Well heres my advice

Always use marvins blood it makes nemesis reach t2 much faster were he is much more threatening and as long as you level him as you play him you should get enough to use them quite sustainably especially if you get and use bbq on him

Be creative with the whip but understand its limitations, the whip is very powerful and even more so at certain tiles where you can hit the survivor over them, try and learn which tiles you can and can't hit over (when the survivor isn't crouching) and you can usually get an extra hit or two where you shouldn't or get a hit you should get much faster

Early game you should focus on getting out of t1 quickly since you are at your weakest there, kinda like myers

Thats all I got to offer

    Thanks!

    General notes/Early disclaimers

I find Nemesis to be quite lackluster and he feels like a lot of missed potential. I thought we might get a discussion going of potential ways to improve him not only in terms of strength but also in terms of enjoyment to play as and against him. I've got some ideas but feel free to post you're own or simply thoughts on Nemesis as he currently exists.

Firstly I think the #1 goal for every killers design should be to have the survivors play differently. We only have one game mode and well designed killers I think ask something different of the survivors. This philosophy keeps the game feeling fresh and unique even when it's still the same game every time. I find that we have too many killers that have their counter play or play style generally speaking identical to others.

Some positive examples of good design would be things like Nurse, Huntress, Plague ect. Keep in mind we aren't talking about power level here, but simply their play style and how you play against them as a survivor. It's unique to other killers. This keeps the game fresh and differentiating one match from another.

    ---------------------------------------

    Nemesis

I'm actually not looking to do much in regards to his tentacle as to me it's very copy/paste to other killers and not a unique experience. We want to emphasize what makes play as and against him unique. I also think improvements in terms of a killers map pressure or mobility are also much better design rather than improving on anti-loop. This allows survivors to have their long fun chases while allowing the killers to still be competitive and not have those long/fun chases lose them the entire game.

    • For every survivor currently infected zombies gain an addition 25% move speed.
    • Every time a survivor is hit with Tentacle Strike zombies move 25% faster for 10 seconds. During this boost period zombies are significantly louder.
    • Zombie detection range increased by 8m and field of view increased by 18 degrees. (Admin Wristband basically)
    • Reduce the speed boost gained from tentacle strike on causing infection. (basically only when it's used to cause infection, not cause damage)
    • Using a vaccine takes 10 seconds longer.
    • Mutation rate when hitting survivors increased by 33% (Marvins Blood)

Essentially our main priority here is increasing map pressure through zombies which is his main feature that is unique. Survivors should actually be actively scared and running from zombies instead of what we have now which is just an annoying thing that shows up sometimes and isn't actually effective at giving any map pressure really whatsoever. I understand the devs have limitations with adding additional zombies which is why I have gone this route. If we cannot have more zombies, then make the ones we do have scarier. We want the zombies to be actively pressuring gens much better than they currently are as well as scary moments of speed increases for the zombies when the killer plays well and lands more tentacle strikes. This creates more risk/reward and skilled plays. The killer may try to greed more tentacle hits to increase map pressure but in turn these are much easier to dodge than if he just went for the m1. Survivors should need to draw zombies away and break line of sight to lose them. More active game play with the zombies in other words.

The vaccine increase is to slow the gen pressure down a little more as well.

The mutation rate change is because it's currently too low to where every Nemesis basically feels required to auto lock Marvins Blood every time and limits build diversity.

The reduced speed boost on only infection tentacle strike hits (not ones that injure the survivor) is to make it a tad less punishing in the fact that he requires 3 hits to down survivors essentially.

    ----------------------------------------------

    Addons

Not focusing here too heavily but just some tweaks to under performing addons.

Iridescent Umbrella Badge - Survivors are inflicted with Exposed status effect for 60 seconds when using a vaccine.

Shattered S.T.A.R.S. Badge - Increases zombie move speed by 100% for 45 seconds after a generator is completed. Your zombies are silent.

    ---------------------------------------------

Will be actively updating this post with changes as necessary.

I think that it should also be an option to force zombie respawns from a distance or to have a built in death timer if they don't move for 15 seconds or so.

A big point of why Chucky hasn't come to DBD is his small stature. Would you like a Child's Play chapter even if it meant you would play as Nica or Tiffany instead?

EDIT: Chucky as a doll would ofc be present as part of the Power. But the main killer would not be a doll.

    Victor.

  • @TwitchyMike said:

Yes. Maybe, No? Explain your reasoning. Would you be a killer or a survivor? I personally would be a survivor, assuming even if you die you come back. I mean maybe I'm sadistic here... But I would totally be in this realm. Now I could also see myself being a killer lol xD

I think killer or survivor, I'd be an interesting character.

  • @Bennett_They1Them said:

Alternatively, which is your favorite to run?

additionally, if you feel like it, how would you improve the least scary one?

I'm excluding Noed because Noed's almost always thrilling to dodge, a non-issue due to "do bones", or at least slightly frustrating.

Side note: should I have left Devour off? I have a feeling everyone's going to choose devour.

I'm going to recreate this poll leaving off the hexes and see how that changes the data.

  • yep.

I just played a nemi game where every hit against this one leon missed, including two m1s in a row and a grab within 15s.

upon attempting the grab, I got stuck in place for over a minute, and in that time, the survivors opened the exit gate, got a save, healed up, and t-bagged me at the gate.

for the record, I only just got nemesis, but I'm quite sure that's not supposed to happen.

But then again, do you want to run a Perk to detect Totems? Like Small Game or Counterforce? I would not waste a Perk Slot on something which might become completely useless if nobody is using Boons.

    I'd run that perk.

maybe the direction sound could be tuned a little? I find it's not super directional.

maybe aura reading for it while you're within 8m?

  • @Pig_Is_Pog said:

why does alch ring not have some sort of drawback or negative too it? it’s way to powerful to just be an addon with no negative downside too it.

But if they force ds onto me i won't say if were down to the last 2 gens and im given the opportunity to tunnel the annoyance let them go. What can i say i aint perfect lol. Hbu?

    nah.

a saying of mine is "a t-bagging survivor is a survivor losing distance in chase"

  • @Mooks said:

As killer, use BBQ (obviously) and some killers just naturally get more BP than others. EG Doctor or Legion.

As Survivor, We are gonna live forever, Prove thyself or a map to better maximize lightbringer category, some perk for Survival (Selfcare or CoH, Headon, DS), DS is also good for extra survival points if you escape or die as obsession, make totems/bless totems.

wraith gets the most points, I think. (you literally get points just for looking at survivors)

    demo's pretty good too.

  • @Kira4Evr said:

I love to read and learn about the lore within DBD. And I wanted to know more about the realms within DBD. I've always known about the Spirit World because I used to main Nurse. And I also knew that Wraith could enter it because before I was a Nurse main, I used to main Wraith xd

Anyways. I just found out that The Spirit don't enter the Spirit World when she was Phasing. She's, in fact, entering a Sub-Realm called "Ethereal Plane". Now for some of you, this wasn't something new. But I've always thought she was entering the Spirit World because, well, I have a squirrel brain and thought The Spirit would enter the Spirit World. And she can't either interact with things while phasing either, just like Nurse and Wraith. So I thought she was like them.

So now it makes sense for me why she can't see survivors or get Lightburned while Phasing, as Nurse and Wraith can when they are using their power.

But then I asked myself. If both Wraith and Nurse enter the Spirit World when using their power, why can Nurse go through walls but not Wraith? The simple answer is probably that it would be difficult to balance or anything. But lorewise, why can't he?

I'm pretty sure the "levels of spirit world" are classed like this:

Dream World - ability to interact with the world limited and restricted to the dream world, sight impeded.

Spirit world - can't attack, but can move faster. -subject to lightburn, can impact environment.

Ethereal Plane + Upsidedown (?): can't see, can't interact, speed increased.

I have, but I'm also completely and utterly against the idea. I've played Paladins, a game equally as buggy to DBD once upon a time, and during this state of Bugs Galore we had the champion Atlas release.

Atlas' entire gimmick is that he can rewind himself or enemies. His ultimate also freeze them in time. He was also one of the laggiest and buggies champions, well, ever.

I trust Hi-Rez more than BHVR and so I don't feel like sitting through more bugs than Twins' release for this character

there are no bugs in ba sing se.

Why quit, get no points for a match, and take a 5 minute matchmaking ban, just because you're unhappy that a killer downed you a little quicker than you had hoped, or because the killer tunneled you or is camping your hook, or because a killer is using a perk that negated your dead hard, or whatever? Even if you're know you're going to be tunneled and hook camped until your death, why quit, it's actually faster to wait for the death on hook, helping your team get some gens done for free in the process, and then get another match, than it is to quit and take a 5 minute matchmaking ban. I just don't get it.

Well the devs said that whoever bought any character from the DLCs would keep them, so demo has to stay in the game somehow, and I doubt they would just remove it completely for new players, so replacing it with another killer with the same power seems like the way to go. Also, it wouldn't be the first time a legendary outfit is from a license, so players who have the Demo would probably keep it as a skin if I had to guess.

Don't know about Mss Annity though

I'd say demo's probably staying, since they said owners could still keep him.

    (shrug)

  • @what_if_they_find_us said:

I still feel weird about boon totems, as someone who plays both killer and survivor.

As killer, I have the same problems as anyone else. (Boons aren't really an issue if one or two survivors bring them, but when the whole team brings them, well...)

As survivor, I find the whole idea of boon perks...kind of silly.

One thing I enjoy about playing survivor is the suspense. (That's why I actually like the unpredictability of playing solo survivor. Obviously I want to escape the trial alive, but I like how there's less a guarantee of survival. It makes winning feel more rewarding.) I also think survivors relying on simple tools and perks based on physical strength/perception adds a (thin) layer of realism to the game.

The idea of blessing totems, using magic to survive, just doesn't sit right with me. It defeats some of the essentials that make DBD work.

    What do you guys think?

    "but"?

    killers can.

I think it should probably either be easier to find them (maybe aura reading while within the sound bubble for those with hearing issues? at the very least, maybe make the sound more directional.), and/or they should have a cooldown/requirement (maybe you have to cleanse a totem before you can bless one? or maybe do something related to the totem effect? eg, heal before you can use coh, hide within 10m of the killer for 30/20/10s before shadow step, heal someone from the downed state before exponential, etc)

  • @beatddb said:

So in one of the tome IX cutscenes we can clearly see a new spider-like creature as a killer. We can see its appearance and one interesting thing is that it opens its mouth just like the demogorgon does, and even moves pretty fast in some pounce-like fashion.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LH9Z4IY4CJVE/screenshot-1.png

But if I'm not mistaken this would be the first time BHVR shows that much of a killer before release (other than blight I think). So, instead of a whole new killer chapter with new power and stuff, wouldn't it just be the killer that will replace the demo after the license is over? So, new players would have to buy that one instead, while players who had demo would keep it as a legendary skin

Maybe it's crypt TV's Ms. Amity?

    that'd be cool, but I don't know.

    I don't think demo's getting a cosmetic stand-in, unfortunately.

Share your thoughts. I do believe it is good for us to be vocal without insulting the devs please. I myself have been VERY burnt on this game as of lately.

I mean, I have lots of fun, but I realized in the day off I've taken waiting for the ddossing to die down that too much horror stops being scary.

I think a break will refresh you basically no, matter what it is you're taking a break from.

The infinite tier 3 we can keep. But getting am OG mori from an add-on is crazy overpowered, and I'm surprised those add-ons ever made it into the game.

I mean, they do tell a great story in game using only mechanics. that kind of thing is why I got into DBD.

but, yeah, from a balance perspective it's not great.

Recently watched a Dowsey video where he claims that The Artist has more potential than Nurse. Now, personally, I disagree with this but I wanted to see what other players on here think.

I believe The Artist is going to be a very solid A Tier, if she remains as is from the PTB, but I don't see her having more potential than Nurse.

    I agree with you.

This is the reason why i use Distortion sometimes.

I don't know if Iron Will can help against Iron Maiden but against Huntress it's best to avoid lockers.

Calm spirit, I think was the idea.

Doc Shocks will not. It is not an attack, and therefore cannot be split into a basic/special attack.

Zombies I'm unsure of, however I don't believe so. They are not the player so are not classed as attacks.

Torment crows will, as they will be special attacks

The Third Seal. Easier to write TTS

    oh, O.K

I figured not doc shocks and that it would have to be a damage sate or a partial damage state.

does that mean that doc shocks, zombies, and torment crows will also inflict it?

    also, what does tts mean?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

A single knife is classed as a single special attack. As TTS triggers upon a basic attack or special attack, it is counted.

There was an issue with Blood Favour on the PTB too about this, so it was changed to "when a health state is inflicted".

does that mean that doc shocks, zombies, and torment crows will also inflict it?

When I say "almost every", I don't mean every killer. It depends on how much skill the killer takes. For instance, killers with lower skill floors but with higher skill caps, such as Wraith and Clown, should be balanced around high B tier, no lower. Killers with higher skill floors, such as Pinhead, should be balanced around the A tier.

A tier killers are able to withstand SWF, while still being fair for solo queue, such as old Billy base-kit wise and Huntress. S tier killers, such as Blight and Spirit, also count depending on the perks and add-ons they use.

Of course, it would be a bit difficult (probably an exaggeration) to start off with the whole killer-balancing thing due to flawed map design balance-wise. Not to mention the misery of going against these killers should also be analyzed.

    yeah.

    that's true.

or, at least aiming for A tier.

Usually I enjoy and respect huntresses but now lately from what I been experiences between their tunneling ways/camping/slugging greed they went to bottom of list + hate for me and I much rather be slug by twins since its kinda what they are made for, this build of corrupt invention/bbq/iron maiden and whatever 4 perk maybe ruin(which i dont care about ruin), so you cant really go in a locker to hide from bbq when someone is unhooked becoming exposed and one hit or waiting on corrupt invention as of most likely they will assume and go to the gens that is close to them and none ofc wanna do that and rather be at a far gen from killer as possible and wait out corrupt

It is awarding them some rather lame and easy kill and this is worst on small maps where the gens are abit distance yet pretty close. The only slight counter to bbq/iron is shadow step but still that is just lame especially when I wish to make my flashbangs. Tbh I rather be face camped instead of facing this very disgusting build

    Twins aren't made for slugging/camping/tunneling.

    just wanna point that out.

no good twins player will slug any more than they absolutely have to due to 8 seconds of stun if they downed you with Victor.

I haven't played the PTB but from what I've seen from various streamers, she does not seem close in strength to Blight or Nurse. Are they really complaining about how strong she is or is it just how fun she is to go against?

Side note: Why do I see posts about buffing Overcome and nerfing Hex: Pentimento, am I missing something?

it's because nobody knows how to counter her yet.

  • those are fun! :(

I've never used them, but I love having them used on me.

    good memes and good scares.

    - I love how the dream world looks

    - Using tech to teleport to gen at beginning of match if I time it right is fun

    - Survivor going to dream world as soon as exit gate opens and getting black box value in my end game build

    - Survivor dropping dream pallet

    - Catching a survivor hiding because of their blue aura in dream world

    - The weapon sounds cool no matter what it does (breaking wall, hitting survivor, etc.)

    Dislike

    - I have no power on some maps because dream snares and pallets are somewhat map dependent and I become an m1 killer

    - I miss old Freddy power :(

    - My favorite chase music in the game

    - Survivors walking into my shot

    - Landing a shot through a vault or hole in loop

    - Satisfying flick shots on console

    Dislike

    - My shot looking like it went right through a survivor but didn't hit

    - My shot misses from dead hard

wait, immediate teleports are supposed to be a thing?

I figured it a was glitch, so I've never done it.
