Well. Aesthetic-wise yes. But power-wise, Samara doesn’t ‚phase‘ like Spirit, but she comes to through the television? Iirc. I only watched it once and probably confuse it with the Scary Movie parody
I knew about the television thing, I'm just not sure how they'd do that without making her worse demogorgon (since, presumably, you wouldn't be able to set up TVs).
(shrug)

@Mooks said:
Eh. I don’t see how Samara has anything to do with Spirits power?
i guess The Ring is very much deserving a full chapter or at least killer on its own.

I don't really see the similarities between Spirit and Ringu?
O.K, I must be missing something.
isn't Spirit as to Samara as Billy is to Leatherface?
Like, isn't Spirit an Ersatz Samara?
I don't know the IP well*, though.
*haha, funny joke.

I'm excited, but confused why this wasn't just a legendary skin.
I was really hoping to see a genderqueer character too...

aah, that makes more sense.

I´ve lvl 50 hillbilly but into bloodweb i don´t always find lightborn plus sometimes happens that you look at a wall and the light blind you anyway
what? if you've reached level 50, you should have unlocked the perk by now.
unlocked perks and general perks have the same chance to spawn in the bloodweb.
make sure you look at the wall before picking up, and then look up around 70-85 degrees.

Why?
Ghostface is already in game.
I must be missing something, what are you talking about?

Hear me out, what if pyramid head's m2, applied torment on successful hits.
at the very least his m2 should fire a trail. that way, if survivors run into the trail after being hit they get tormented, but they can still avoid it.

yes.
I've been waiting for a canonically genderqueer survivor/killer for as long as I've been playing this game.
and no, Legion and Twins don't count because they use they/them pronouns in the bloodweb.

Demon's Souls is great too!
You can still play on PC with a controller, there are softwares to connect your PS3 controller to PC and make it work.
side note, I have scholar edition, but the game isn't actually that version.
any idea why or how to fix it?
for example, I start each run with all the dlc keys instead of having to find them in Drangliac castle and the surrounding areas.

I know your title was meant to be that, I just like discussing about this, I love those games.
Bloodborne is PS exclusive, you can play DS1 and DS3 on PC and Sekiro too, if that interests you, even if it can be very different; I'd also suggest Nioh and Nioh 2, or just Nioh 2 if you have to choose one, they are not really Soulslike games, but they have similarities and, in my opinion, one of the best combat system in the genre.
for sure.
I also love the souls games.
Thanks for the clarification. unfortunately, I'm on a ps3 on death's door. I guess I could play the original Demons Souls, but the console really is barely holding on.
I may well end up getting sekiro at some point. I'm not sure, I expect that shifting from playing ds2 on controller to another souls game on M & K would be really jarring.
(to clarify, I was just saying that the discussion title was partially meant as a joke)

I feel like they managed to create a great variety of builds, environments, armor sets and enemies, the big issue is that most of that feels out of place: the example I always bring up, and that you mentioned as well, is the infamous Earthen Peak, with an elevator on top of a tower that leads to a volcano.
But yeah, most of it was due to the troubled development, Miyazaki not being involved for most of it didn't help either, and their overall idea was probably a bit too ambitious for the technology, time and funds they had.
If you get the chance to play the other games, Bloodborne included, they are definitely worth it.
yeah. It's too bad it had a flawed development. really, the title was a bit of an exaggeration, I was just trying to say that I think it could have been the best. Obviously, it isn't *cough, Shrine of Amara, cough*, but I feel it could have been.
I'll definitely give the others a try. They're available on PC, right? or, was bloodborne a ps4 exclusive?
-
@brokedownpalace said:
I think the only change they need is an ability swap. Victor should have a normal attack, be able to pick up and hook survivors, kick pallets and gens and Charlotte should scurry around on all 4 and pounce on survivors backs while screaming.
That will solve basically all of their problems.
I hate the mental image, but I love the fact that's totally true.
-
@Rizzo said:
Regarding the pvp, maybe, however, in my opinion, design-wise it's worse than the other Soulsborne.
Of course a big part of it has to do with the troubled development it went through:
That said, the level design feels inferior to DS1's interconnected world, the lore is also pretty messy, with contradictions with the first game (for example the Dragons possessing souls or Giants being different race from DS1's Giants and so on).
The massive amount of bosses also doesn't help the cause, since most of them are forgettable and barely interesting (I'm talking to you Prowling Magus and Congregation) and they used a quantity over quality amount of enemies to create a sense of difficulty that DS1 had with smart enemy placement.
Also can't be the best when Bloodborne exists.
I think that overall, it's worse than the sum of its parts.
I do agree the world doesn't feel all that interconnected, and some corners were clearly cut. (reused Ornstein and the earthen peak elevator up to iron keep, for example.)
My opinion is that, if not for a troubled development, it would have been fantastic.
thus the "almost".
also, I actually haven't played bloodborne. (I've actually only played ds2, so this opinion is heavily based on reading about the other games and seeing gameplay)

The perk huntress lullaby is currently very underwhelming for a hex in my opinion.
Would you change it or not? If yes, i have two suggestions: make it a basic perk that activates on the 5/6 th hook / or let it be a hex, but the perk is at full power since the beginning.
What's your thoughts?
that, or keep the skill check penalty even after the totem is gone. go half and half on the hex-iness.

Every lobby i find have at least 1 flashlight ( mostly 2 ) without Light born is berely impossible to play ... maybe surv has to be limited 1x equip each team .... maybe they shouldn`t have perks considering that they can speak each other..... maybe some dev has to boost killers even in the low tier or punish trolls and teabággers .... but instead next update will sure give 5 perk to surv and decrees killer speed by 2 m/s
- look at walls when picking up.
- check for survivors before picking up.
- unlock lightborn.

Perk 1 seems really funny and pretty meta too
Perk 2 seems meh
yeah, perk two would be basically used exclusively with DS. Maybe it could be amped up by giving endurance for a few seconds after escaping the killer's grasp. maybe the wiggle buff could be increased by saving survivors from the hook?

That would be a good trade-off.
oh, also, maybe it should
A: have a 30s timer max (to balance the fact it's getting two uses)
or
B: it should deactivate when another survivor is hooked or mori'd.

I think what I said is the whole theme around camping and tunneling it's incredible hard to do something against it without pulling every killer down with it even if they don't tunnel or camp
ooh. I really missed the point.
I just saw BT and got thinking.
Sorry about that.

I know they will stay in character, but I wanted to know if they will be available to buy in the store after the event is over, as I should only buy them later.
I think they stick around, but I may be wrong.
-
@Starrseed said:
The problem is buffing ds to counter tunneling sounds good and like the right things to do in the first place but you are not only going to hurt tunnelers that tunnel from first hook.
Sometimes there is a good reason to tunnel let's say I am legion and I don't run noed. One surv is dead and you just got on your second hook at the same time the gates get powered. So when the other two healthy survs 99 the gate and just brainless run into me there is nothing I can do to prevent them from unhooking you and even if I manage to get you trough probably bt and atleast one bodyblock I can't hook you cause second ds no matter what I do that just doesn't sound fair cause there are a whole lot of killers that don't have bubbas multi instadown that would suffer hard from this
I agree, BT should have a longer timer, but deactivate if the survivor stops running (to take a protection hit).

@Mazoobi said:
For the love of entity, yes.
It's starting to really tick me off how BHVR refuses to give them attention. They have a crap ton of potential, but BHVR just won't use their brains of theirs to give them the changes they need.
thus the discussion.
obviously, this one discussion won't make a ton of difference on its own, and it'd be arrogant to think it could, but I think that if we break the "there are only 4 twins players" joke/belief there's a chance Twins will finally get the QoL they need.
-
@deKlaw_04 said:

I highly recommend you get them if you have any iri shards burning a hole in your pocket. they're really a ton of fun.
They still do need QoL changes, though.
-
@dallasmedicbag said:
I really think with the current state DS is in right now, it is the most balanced it could ever be. Therefore, I don't think having DS usable twice would really hurt killers, as the simplest solution is... don't tunnel. Always go for the unhooker instead.
Why I'm in favor for this change is because once you used up DS, the killer will have no fear of tunnelling you anymore and will go out of their way to make sure you are out of the game ASAP - which makes for stale gameplay for the survivor.
Please don't bring up buffing killer perks, this thread is purely discussing how to make DS better while not making it unfair.
sure, but it should deactivate if a survivor enters a locker, to prevent multiple DS-> Head Ons per survivor.
also, because "multiple DS -> Head ons" is a normal thing for Twins, that should stop being a thing, but I digress, that's a different topic.

I agree. Gore in repetition is not good. I prefer the graphic flavour text the game has.
Yeah. It's unique and scary when it's new, but it's also something you can get used to without desensitizing yourself to gore in an unhealthy way.

I've been using Hex: Pentimento all of my games as Artist and have gotten little to no use from it, mainly because of the Boon meta or because survivors just don't want to cleanse totems.
So that makes me wonder, is it even worth using over other hex perks?
plaything makes it amazing. they either get slowdown or obliviousness, and you're almost guaranteed a bit of both.

Why they don't have an option to just destroy the boon totem instead of snuffing them. Like come on BHVR, make pentimento a viable perk.

kicks should just have a built in -5-10%, pop should boost that by 15%

At least for add-ons. Most of his add-ons are pointless
O.K, that I agree with, his addons need some reworking/buffs.

@Gyro said:
When I say buff, I dont mean giving him some new op ability that will ######### over every single survivor, but rather give him some similar treatment that plague got for the new update. His playstyle feels really clunky and his movements feel sluggish, he just needs a bit of polishing around the edges to tighten him up a little bit.
And if your a bit ambitious, maybe even bring back his ability to cancel M2 into M1, but i feel like he could do without that ability if the majority doesn't want it back. I would really appreciate it coming back though, since it was what made him a very scary opponent to go against
I think he's in a good place, balance wise.

Has any one successfully got Pentimento to 5 stacks? The few times I ran into it I always got rid of the Hex totems again. Does the killer keep the tokens or lose them if the totems are permanently cleansed? The wording is confusing to me in the description- I took it as totems have to be lit simultaneously, in order for the exit gate value to apply.
they lose the tokens. the trick to getting five stacks is to devote your entire build around it, waiting until you have five broken totems, and activating them all at once.
It's honestly smarter to just keep one or two totems up at once.

@ReverseVelocity said:
If only we didn't need 2 perks to do what Remember Me used to do by itself...
I mean, NWO gives just as much gate blocking time.
Also, Pentimento at 5 stacks is basically playing in "Old Freddy mode" due to the slowdown aspect, the main difference being they can't leave the dream world.
pair that with Scratched Mirror Myers, and you've got ersatz old Freddy.

But seriously, if you can't see the tongue-in-cheekiness of this post and feel the need to argue, go walk off a pier with your meta perks. Not everything has to be a fight :)
Edit: In a gesture of goodwill towards this loveably detestable game, give the thread your best excuse that YOU used to justify a loss that you know is an excuse.
if I do terribly in a match, I usually apologize and say "Well, that was embarrassing. sorry, I normally play better than that."

I watched Hellbound: Hellraiser II again recently and thought two things related to the game. Pinhead doesn't feel gory or scary in DbD; would be so cool to have Open/Deep Throat skin. Also maybe make the hooks have bits of flesh and blood stuck on it.
I politely disagree. I really appreciate that DBD is macabre and gruesome without being a gorefest.
if RBTs acted like they did in the movies, for example, I wouldn't be able to play against pig ever.
I really hope the game never gets gorier than Ceno's Mori.

Slinger's fun, but that nerf did happen. It honestly didn't effect me much, since, even though slinger was the first killer I unlocked (aside from the default killers), I never used the M&A combo, and wasn't skilled enough to hit quick-scopes most of the time.
really, the nerf hurt slinger mains more than casual slinger players.
as for legion... maybe no. all their perks are a ton of fun when they work, but their power is a little dull. Meta wise, they're middle of the road.
