I don't think giving Billy even stronger add ons is a priority.
Most pink add-ons are garbage anyway sooo..

TRUE.

"Here we go again. Fk I'm stupid as hell."
-
Why balance your game when you can just throw people of all levels into a match together. 50/50 effect at its finest - you either dominate your games or get dominated. Seems like there will be much fewer games that are more evenly matched and satisfying.
-
I just want her hatchets to be shaped like hatchets and for survivors to get proper hitboxes. Won't happen, but.. what can you do.
I ######### hate this killer, but not because I think she's op. I just hate the bullshit looking hits she gets.
-
Used to be a 4k. Now it's just meme'ing and getting any small bit of satisfaction I can out of a match. Sometimes I'll try a little harder, but for the most part, I'm relaxed these days. Can't bother trying super hard and channeling omega sweat for literally nothing. No ranked rewards = no shits given.
-
I think they're a bunch of mediocre (high-balling this) game developers that stumbled upon, by complete chance, a winning formula. Them, not expecting their game to take off as it has, are now victims of this success. They don't know what to do with the game so now they're trying to make as much money off of it as possible before it goes the way of Deathgarden (you know, their other game that died a very quick death).
-
An obituary. I doubt they'll change him since he's not really powerful or annoying.
-
No, matchmaking needs to be fixed so that bad survivors stay where they belong and red ranks can test new doc without having the games sabotaged (on both ends).
-
His counterplay is literally the same as every other killer - sit on generators. That's it. He's barely better than he was before, and he'll suffer from massive maps like the majority of the cast. If you don't get greedy vs doctor, you'll stomp all over him.
-
I mostly play survivor now and killer only for dailies (or if for some reason I just decide I hate myself that day). No point getting super competitive in this game since it's kind of a massive joke. Just get your points and peace out. If you survive/kill anyone, consider it a bonus. Setting either of those things as expectations will turn this game into the shittiest experience you could ever have.
-
Clown in omega meme tier.
Seems legit. I approve of this list. His post-pink elephant buff really improved his gameplay.
-
Running the killer for an obscene number of generators only to find out the real number I ran them for was 0 - 1. Why? Generator phobia, I guess.

@Peanits said:
This actually goes hand in hand with the recent Gatekeeper change. Previously it was very punishing if you let one or two generators go early on. Now, it's not the end of the world if a few go off early as long as you recover and keep the match going afterwards. We made sure to keep Gatekeeper in mind when changing Ruin.
Who actually cares about these shiny buttons with arbitrary conditions? I just want a game to last more than 5 minutes.
-
Nope. I've actively told people who asked me if they should buy the game not to, as the developers don't know what they're doing. I said I'd let them know if the developers pull their heads out of their butts, but until then, I shoo'd them away from the potential sunk cost fallacy that this game has become.

Ah excellent, now by your own logic you have show yourself to be an immature and self righteous person, so don't expect people to treat you kindly because after all "you dug this hole, you don't deserve respect".
Can't wait to see the perfect games you create and how you handle non stop criticism and hate day in and day out!
I don't consider it a sign of maturity to be content with being habitually walked over by the developers. "Oh, maybe if we're just slightly more reasonable this time, they'll really listen." Seems to have worked out great so far, keep at it, I guess.
I'm not defending the people who were punished for their behavior. I completely understand why they got banned, but I also understand the level of frustration that led them to just shout out insults. When people don't think any level-headed or reasonable arguments will be listened to, they'll sink to increasingly lower depths to have their voices heard. Simple, really.

At the rate we're going with one map rework every 6 months, the game will be dead in the water by the time all the maps are properly balanced.
Tool box nerf won't do much. Games go too fast with or without toolboxes. I haven't been using any and most of my games I'm still going through the exit gates by the 7 minute mark, with only some exception to that on some of the killer-sided maps like Hawkins lab. And with a nerf announced, I expect to see the amount of toolboxes being used increase dramatically.
If they put as much time and effort into fixing maps as Ethan does painting his nails, this game would be heaven.
-
With how they're handling the game, they don't deserve the courtesy of constructive criticism. Or have people forgotten? They've ignored basically all of it. So just sling poop at this point, who cares. They get no pity from me. They dug this hole, now don't expect a hand out of the s-pile.
-
You guys are fooling yourselves into thinking your input matters. Was the exemption of ruin from the PTB survey not clue enough? Come on, boys. It's obvious they're just going through the motions of asking for feedback, knowing full well they'll just do whatever they want in spite of it.
-
They've yet to prove this wrong. So yeah, I'm with you on that.
-
Wait, so doctor is good at tracking? Huh. Well, survivors are super easy to catch, not find. Guess he's the best killer in the game now.
....
......
...........
HEY! Wait a minute Tyrone..
-
Mfw they apparently have internal data reliable enough to claim Pig needs no buffs, but only show us garbage they claim shouldn't be used as a representation of accurate balance. SMFH.
-
Either it's a complete slaughter or gens are done in 4 minutes. Unless I play solo survivor, then all of my teammates have generator phobia (and now they don't have the excuse of ruin existing, so now you know they're just useless dead weight).
-
Nurse is very powerful, and as someone who plays a lot of her, I can say this much - regardless of your level of skill, she's just.. so fkin' awkward to play now. Weird cooldowns break the flow of her gameplay, making her feel clunky and unsatisfying. But hey, we're in the era of "add a cooldown", so this is likely going to touch all killers in the future.

She does well in red ranks as well. We released stats for all killers a little while ago, if you'd like to take a look: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/106566/
You know, a simple "We actually don't care what you think, but thanks anyway." would've sufficed here. Sure it's tactless and feels ######### to hear, but at least it's the truth. I think hearing that would give people a lot more relief at this point. Sorry, I don't believe anything you've said, and I feel sad that my trust of the team has gotten as low as it has, because, I don't think you know this, but I (as well as a lot of other people) truly do love this game. We just want it to be better, but I don't think that sentiment is shared for whatever reason. Keep pushing the BVHR narrative I suppose.
-
You're looking for that Lord of the Rings, Rohan charging in to save Minas Tirith moment, huh? Unfortunately my good man, I don't think you'll have the DBD equivalent. People are too deep into this game to leave now, and I think BVHR knows it. If this company thought for an instant that people would leave in numbers great enough to affect their bottom line, they'd listen. Sadly, they've figured out that no matter how much they destroy their game with pointless, ignorant changes, they will always have an audience.
The only way to get through to them is to stop playing and spending money. Good luck on that one. It would be a late Christmas miracle if the player base (all of us, regardless of side) could stand together and basically say "no more bugs, no more bs. Fix your fkin game or no more money."
-
Even if these forums imploded with a mixture of constructive and non-constructive criticism, BVHR will just do what they do best - tighten that blindfold.
-
You'll have to slug post-mid chapter, more than you used to. That is, if you want to 'win'.. whatever that means in this game. Also, unbreakable exists, so if survivors AREN'T running it, they're insane. It's one of the best perks in the game against good killers, and when paired with DS (and run on all 4 survivors), you almost can't lose (barring superpower levels of idiocy on the part of your team).
-
If I want to give survivors the big leg in style on Myers, then yes. Vault memes.

This is how I felt after my few matches last night.
The majority of them had 3 gens done in 2 minutes with my normal non-ruin setup. I record all my matches and it was pretty ridiculous.
It really drained my will to play the game and as a tiny DbD content creator, I'm not sure what to do about it.
I'm not good enough to make Tarkov content lol
I'm just happy I don't have my life invested in this game via content creation or I'd... not be a happy fellow. Unlucky. : (

Freddy. Anything the other killers can do, he can do. Also, you can't run from him so long as sleep is a requirement.

Something something go play Civ. Feelsbad.

Ignore generators.

Favorite killer to play against: DemoPls
Least favorite killer to play against: Hitboxtress.

How many developers actively work on balancing maps? Also, how many maps per year are we looking at in terms of reworks?

OMG my 950 hours in DbD aren't real! Nor are my streams! ;)
If you have anything close to 1000 hours with some of the things you've said regarding balance... good god..
-
Well, by me:
- Killer instincts area of detection near portals becomes passive and the area is larger.
- Portal placement is less strict.
- Shred now has the rat liver add-on built in.
- When emerging from a portal w/undetectable, all of demogorgon's sounds are muted for the duration.
- Give him an add-on that removes the teleportation warning.
- Make his current add-ons usable and less terrible.
- Shred now breaks pallets at the same speed as a chainsaw.
Any of those in any combination would be cool, but because I believe in going all in, just give him all of those buffs, fk it. See where it goes.

A drug addict doesn't like being addicted to drugs. They want to quit, they'll try, they might even take breaks.. but eventually, the seduction of their vice always drags them back.
"Maybe this time it'll be different." They all say that, and once they put that needle in, they're hoping that they can recreate the wonder of their original high, only to find out they've once again set themselves along the path that nearly destroyed them to begin with. This is a symptom mirrored by those that enjoy this video game. Think about it.
I love this game (fond memories of the original high).
I hate this game (current state of the game after recognizing its issues).
Maybe it'll change (a break followed by the hope that perhaps it'll change when you come back).
I love this game, let's try it again (back to stage one, chasing that original high).
Oh god, this again.. (nothing has changed, and you're back on the abusive cycle of love/hate).
Ain't life strange? : )
-
I wouldn't say survivor takes no skill, I'd just say it's less stressful than killer and has a higher skill ceiling compared to most of the opposing cast.

Yes, the game is balanced for low ranks. That's literally the problem everyone is complaining about and why people are upset and what all the backlash is.
What do you think happens when those new players aren't so new anymore and start seeing the cracks in the system?
It's not solely a matchmaking issue. Hell, I almost doubt it's a matchmaking issue. Not like the devs would admit that matchmaking is borked because players are leaving when they apparently are too reluctant to admit that 80% of people ran ruin because gens go too fast.
Silence, killer AI! We never programmed you to talk back. Now run in circles. Yes, yes... DANCE MONKEY!!!!

CD Projekt Red (Witcher games) or Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic) have proven they give a ######### about their games. They would be great candidates.

I am about too, I've been getting people who are way better at this game and have like 5000+ hours. I don't mind losing, but losing and not evening coming close to one kill? Over and over and over and over and over again?
How is that fun? I doubt the survivors feel very accomplished you know they are just calling you names in their discord and laughing at how bad you are. You don't camp or tunnel they STILL insult you post game like you did, feeling so high and mighty....
Don't worry about what other people might be thinking or saying. It'll drive you insane. Just veg out and play the game non-competitively, as it is an unbalanced mess at the moment. Losing all the time (especially badly) is frustrating, and if you feel it's starting to get to you, take a break. Try another game for a while. If it's really bad, just move on from this game. Even McCote would agree.

And who says Freddy is overperforming?
Freddy has a lullaby and a Terror Radius. Unlike Ghostface you don't need to see him to avoid him.
If he starts teleporting to your gen just listen for his Terror Radius or Lullaby and make sure you're not running in a direction where it gets louder.
I don't think a Killer's power being easy to use alone is grounds for it getting nerfed. Or do you think we should nerf Clown too?
Also can we keep this thread about Hillbilly?
I agree wholeheartedly with your final statement.

@LemeTheMeme said:
The whole stigma around M1 killers not being able to apply proper map pressure is ridiculous.
M1 killers -can- apply generator pressure depending on the survivors you are against. I think what most people are (DESPERATELY AT THIS POINT) trying to communicate is that not all killers apply pressure equally without some sort of survivor error giving them an advantage.
You've obviously convinced yourself that Freddy is overpowered, and it's been made clear by your posts that you are not interested in any rebuttals that challenge this viewpoint. What I see is a strong killer who can perform well against all but the most optimized survivors, and for me, that's not exactly an issue. Also, any of BVHR's statistics (as stated by a BVHR employee as well: Peanits) are not to be taken to heart as the be all end all. There are too many factors at work that aren't being considered for those measurements to mean anything.
Also, wasn't this a hillbilly thread? God dayum.

He's way too powerful and easy to play, he needs a nerf. Saying an overpowered killer that was made into a meme beforehand is reason as to why he should stay overpowered is ridiculous.
We seem to have differing opinions. I do not believe him to be overpowered, and you do. Therefore, I don't think any progress will be made here if we discussed it. I play versus and as Freddy, and I never felt he was overpowered either way. For me, he's about at the right level for the game's current state. We need more strong killers like Freddy in the game, not niche, meme killers like clown, doctor, pig etc.
Also, hillbilly thread. Getting sidetracked. Long story short, I think billy is fine, but I don't think he's going to escape the inevitable nerf hammer. That's just how the developers work. They see problems where their are none, and they either create new ones, or worsen existing ones. Rarely do they deviate from this formula.

That would just gut Hillbilly instantly, He is already balanced as it is...
It's not like the developers have a history of poor balance changes or anything. WAIT A MINUTE TYRONE..
-_-

@Shirtless_Myers said:
Hillbilly is fine as is. Freddy needs a nerf though.
Can we not? Freddy was a meme for too long. Let him shine ffs.
-
I think hillbilly is fine at the moment, with his only major drawback being map design (like every other killer in this game). That said, I'm sure they'll give him the traditional base power gutting and rework all of his add-ons to be garbage.
