If the maps don't change drastically, then I won't consider him to be in a good spot for some time. For those that need clarification, I don't consider 'mid tier' to be a healthy place to linger, especially if you're playing against more optimal survivors. Demogorgon is just 'ok', which means survivors have to make a ton of mistakes for you to truly thrive.
-
I don't know why Coulrophobia only makes you 'heal slower', why not just action speeds period including generator repairs? Just lower the percentage so it's not busted.
-
Are we thinking about this question logically without any horror movie tropes tossed in? If so, Freddy by a seriously long mile. In fact, it's not even close. Why? Well, fall asleep, and he can literally alter reality to suit whatever he wants. Sounds pretty OP to me.
-
Was it ever alive? I only used this perk to switch things up, not because it was good. That's a luxury you have on survivor, you can just use "whatever" and usually be ok.
-
Your ability to maintain pressure on the map is based on:
- The killer you pick.
- The ability of the survivors to optimally do generators.
- Your willingness to make optimal if unfun plays (slugging, camping, tunneling).
- The map.
- The skill of the survivors on said map.
Two of those factors are in your control, two are in the survivors control, and one is typically in the survivor's favor (maps).
-
Well, according to our data, dedicated servers are just fine. BUT, we have some more cosmetics here for you. Want some? Only 1080 auric cells. : )
-
I always say "I'm only going to say this once" but end up repeating it anyway. God, I hate this game. Anyway:
- Not all killers are created equal.
- Not all killers have the luxury of mobility to pressure generators.
- Not all killers have an equal or similar skill cap - ex. the best nurse will always be a bigger threat than the best legion, etc.
If you "believe" that this isn't true, then there's no debate to be had here and you were never looking for any rational or reasonable rebuttal to your claims.
-
Just let Legion down survivors without the deep wounds status using his power. That way he doesn't waste basic m1 attacks and it gives survivors a reason to heal against him (as well as giving him a choice as to whether or not he wants a free first hit or down after a basic m1). Hell, billy would likely still end up being better.
-
Their stats are not and have never been a good measure for any sort of metric regarding killer/survivor performance. There's too many variables that go unmeasured for that information to be valuable. Also, one of the developers (Peanits) mentioned that this data shouldn't be taken to heart somewhere on this form (too lazy to look for it).
-
Legion's stun is 4 seconds, so clearly it's as good as Nurse's power, right? Surely it's not just a grossly excessive period of inaction for an underwhelming ability. Right? RIGHT!? SAY SOMETHING.
-
I don't want them to touch any more killers until they comprehend how the game is played. Imagine if they put those resources to work fixing maps.. huh, then they might find themselves reworking a lot less killers and focusing on bug fixes.
-
Honestly, if half the ######### maps didn't have some sort of stupid dead zone that's been in since they existed, she'd be more bearable to play. The new map for Oni? Yeah, those statues? You cannot blink through or near them lest you get stuck. That whole area is literally anti-nurse.
-
######### balance and out of touch developers.
-
I can see a hillbilly pink add-on now..
Tremendously reduces movement speed of chainsaw sprint.
Tremendously lowers terror radius when not in chainsaw sprint.
Yeah, that seems "fun" and useless.
Edit: nurse does have ultra rares, they just suck fat weenie.
-
Terrible at their worst, below average at best. They need to step it up in every area that isn't art design.
-
Shiny badges based on arbitrary scores.

Ruin is practically BS anyway so why are people getting their knickers in a twist? when ruin is active people find it so early on....i agree as a surv main it needs a buff to some point....but there are many other perksout there
This entire post gives me the impression that you exclusively play survivor. If you played killer at higher ranks, you'd understand why a lot of players aren't exactly thrilled about this change. In before.. "I'm a red rank killer and I've never used ruin and I 4k every game etc etc."
-
Knowing how to efficiently link tiles and when to use/not use pallets. The second part of that statement becomes incredibly difficult if you play solo (like me) and you're not sure what your team has used/done. So in a SWF you'll have an idea of how much time you have left and roughly how far your resources will carry you based on what your team tells you. Therefore, you can make more informed decisions as to when you're using certain setups and when you're conserving them. In a solo experience this all goes out the window, since there's no communication, no way to know who has used what, how many generators are about to pop, etc.
-
Lack of a populated alternative in the same genre. Also, the licensed killers. If they weren't in this game, I'd of jumped ship a long time ago.
-
It's my favorite perk. I never take it off.
-
Ruin, ruin, ruin, and ruin. See what I did there?
-
Freddy is a decent killer, but BVHR didn't really do anything super creative with him. For a reality warper he has some very, very, VERY basic abilities. At least he's playable, I suppose. I would've preferred it if they had preserved his old playstyle and just buffed that into top tier.
-
I won't condemn anyone who is part of the art design team, as I feel like they're quite talented. Everyone else, on the other hand.. well, let's just say that if I performed my job as poorly as they did, I'd be fired.

Sometimes I stop and think to myself, "is this what the sunk cost fallacy feels like?" just before I load into another trial.
Yes, that's what it feels like. It's awful, isn't it?

Supporting this game.
-
Yes, even though I wish it was the old version. 40% CDR on successful attacks in exchange for keeping obsession alive. With unrelenting being useless now they don't even pair together (and it would be better than the current version). Oh well, that'd probably make the perk annoying or frustrating.
-
Depends how much my teammates ran way from me that day, but typically no.

Tell me about it if killers find the game hard now they should play when double pallets + vacuum and old decisive strike and install blinds, any killer who played after those got removed none of them will stand a chance if they played in 2016-2017 oh and keep this in mind any killer who played in the old times still 4k so if any one struggle to get sacrifices now I don't really know what to tell you.
I don't even know how we played killer back then. All I can chalk it up to is most people being ######### at the game, because my god, killers have never even been 5% as op as survivors at their worst.
-
BABA... DOOK?
-
You've a higher chance of getting an answer for this question than anyone asking about bugs or flaws in the game's design.
-
Human beings are naturally competitive in some way (usually) and always strive to better themselves through their experiences. What happened? Why did this happen? How can I change my approach? Is there anything I could've done to mitigate or counter this thing that is giving me issues? But more importantly, CAN I BE THE VERY BEST LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS?
Reigning in that innate desire to just be better or the best is quite difficult, even if the ultimate goal is pointless, it's the journey that matters most.
-
I think there are going to be a lot more moris used now, especially in anticipation of DS/Unbreakable to counter the inevitable rise in slugging. These are some dark times ahead for all of us, not just survivor. RIP normal games.
-
So, for all those that are aware, there is a very exclusive (and suddenly vocal) club of killers who claim they are capable of performing well in their games without ruin. This is, for the most part, likely true. A combination of factors must be taken into account though:
- Absurd amount of hours into the game.
- Using the most optimal (if dickish) of plays at all times, regardless of the situaion. Camping out a low hp kill, slugging, light tunneling, etc.
- Usage of top tier killers (if not, the amount of the above plays increases).
Now, even if what they say is true, here's something I will confess: THESE GAMES ARE NOT ALWAYS A GG EZ 4K. You will be beaten some games just due to generator speeds depending on the survivors, and the killer you are using heavily impacts this. If you play fairly as killer without ruin, your games are about to get unbearably stressful and annoying. If you play like a merciless animal, then your games might see little to no difference post ruin change. Hell, there will even be games where you outplay the survivors at every turn, with fast chases (25 - 30 seconds or less) and it still doesn't matter. The rate at which generators are done completely eclipses most of your actual ability to outplay the survivors without resorting to the aforementioned tactics listed above.
All in all, it is possible and doable to win games without ruin (whatever you consider a win in this game), but it is very stressful and definitely not something just anyone can do. I haven't used ruin in months now, and my games aren't always super easy 4k experiences. You will not win every game, it is not possible, as there are too many variables to consider (survivor skill, toolboxes, SWF, etc).
-
Hex's will never be good without three things being guaranteed.
- Powerful and immediate effects.
- Better hiding spots.
- A check that doesn't enable hexes to spawn next to generators or in the open.
It's just the nature of the beast when you have 5 totems and 4 people scouring the map for generators.
-
Here we go again. Just in case someone at BVHR is reading the thread, maybe this will get through - MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN. MAP DESIGN.
Until that is completely dealt with in a way that is satisfactory to both sides, a change like this will only cause the killer population to shrink. It doesn't matter how good at killer a select portion of the population with thousands of hours is, we're looking at the average game length with killers/survivors that are just okay.
-
I don't equip bond or empathy for a very simple reason: if I see what my team is doing, it'll piss me off. Solo survivor is rough.

That's actually pretty reasonable - I bought it with the money I got from the rift.
As you were.
Yeah, let's spend real money on cosmetics for a killer who's in feces tier. Naw, I'm good man. I also feel sorry for all the people about to get scammed into buying Demo's skin - another killer who could use some QoL changes/buffs.
-
Perkless, no add-ons, sit still in a corner facing away from survivors. New meta.

Please, stop making excuses already.
I don't run toolboxes as survivor in my matches, and generators were still getting complete in about 6 and a half minutes on average.
Even if I don't run toolboxes (which by the way, *A LOT OF PEOPLE DO*), what's to stop someone else from running a toolbox with a BNP? Or Prove Thyself, or anything else to speed up the game?
It doesn't even matter if they were running toolboxes with a BNP or not because after the Ruin nerf hits, nobody will even have to. Nerf will do more damage than any toolbox or BNP will ever do.
Just because most people don't, doesn't mean people can't. You don't balance around the average -- you balance around the problem.
I would have thought 3 years of this ######### going on would have been enough evidence that something with the core structure of the game is seriously wrong but no, people still want to make excuses and refuse to address the wrongs.
Are you waiting for "just adapt XD" followed by pretentious self-wank too? I know I am. : )

Monto played against some of the art team, of course we should instead pretend that the art team decided to rework ruin.
With how ######### and out of touch a change it is, I'd prefer it if they came out and said it was the art team that tested the ruin nerf. The mere idea that the actual developers in charge of balance did it is frightening. I'm desperately reaching for a reason to think they're not total morons.
-
Slugging is going to make a comeback, but unfortunately, a lot of survivors have been running unbreakable lately. They have an answer to literally every killer tactic. If you slug, they have unbreakable, if you hook, they do generators.
If every survivor just ran unbreakable/DS, I'd likely just quit playing killer. At that point, I have no options that aren't bringing mori offerings every game.
-
Don't worry, the killer is on their way to becoming full fledged ai. It's coming! Be patient.
-
Not many people have practical answers that work. It;'s just the usual meme of "do it, idiot."

And I don't know who AFernandes is tbh, but sure, lets have the art people balance the game, we all know you guys complain about bugs when skins are still being pumped out so we should also assume the artists are god tier gamers as well.
I mean, you've seen how well the 'balance' people balance the game, I'd say give the art team a shot at this point.

We're doing some testing on it, haven't settled on a number yet. But already at lower values it feels much better.
Did this actually take testing for you guys to figure out? Really? Does 3 seconds of being useless after using your supposed anti-loop power sound even remotely balanced? My god..
-
I mean, why not at this point? Cry enough about it and the developers will listen. Wouldn't want survivors to be annoyed or frustrated.
