Like a lot of things in this game, Freddy suffers severely from one of the worst cases of "that's not how far his arms reach, Tyrone" syndrome. Nothing like getting hit by shockwaves of ultimate power like you're fighting a DBZ character.
-
Camping is very common, like every other game is a camp fest. True tunneling on the other hand is pretty rare in my experience.
Now, bullshit hits and dead hard doing nothing? That happens at the very least 2+ times a game.
-
The only part about Pig that's OP is her not having a universal "Free boop then chase" signal. Some of you Pig mains are charlatans man.
-
I won't give you one, because you're on the path to enlightenment. Find something else, lol.
-
Probably a killer that works like this:
- His power is basically an M1.
- He HAS to look down when he misses or runs out of power bar, even if the power isn't that good.
- Moves fast?
- Clunky/awkward mechanics that interact with DBD's strengths - such as hitboxes on objects/things in general.
- He's high risk for low reward.
- Has cool skins.
- Is countered by dead hard and sharp corners.
- Can't turn at all.
Wait a minute..
-
Every killer requires more or less effort to win depending on many factors, a lot of them in control of the survivors. However, I would honestly say that if you want consistency in your average game, pick Freddy. He's a low risk/high reward type of character with tools to deal with most any situation - only the best survivor teams or players will have a chance against you if you're competent with him.
-
Nothing interesting or meaningful. It'll likely be a massive letdown for anyone expecting some solid changes. Probably a skin release or something. More $$$ plz.
-
Fix servers and create proper hitboxes. Fk it, throw in map balance as well.

They said they changed Ruin because it wasn’t fair on newer players who couldn’t hit skillchecks. PGTW doesn’t make hitting skillchecks more difficult so I can’t see why they’d need to change it.
Wait, is that.. someone who may just think BVHR acts logically? You poor, sweet summer child.
-
Do it or lose against good survivors for free. But if they're running unbreakable you just lose anyway, sooo..
-
It's already survivor sided in any situation where the skill levels of both sides are even remotely equal. Add in perks and all the other crap that comes with it, and you will not win on any killer short of maybe nurse/spirit played at the highest level. Even then, maybe not depending on the team.
-
Very good in chases and super difficult to run consistently. Poor map pressure holds him back, but otherwise he's fine. If he had normal killer movement, he'd be close to top tier.
-
Midwich is super good for survivor if you know some of the loop links. Hawkins is a giant pile of crap with literally nothing good but maybe like.. 3 pallets. If you don't bring balanced landing, prepare to eat a lot of ass.
-
I usually have a minimum of two DS in my games when I play killer, and it hasn't really caused me too much of an issue. Four DS games can be rough, but it really depends on the pace of the match. Pairing that with unbreakable on four survivors and I'll just take my loss, it's cool (unless they're a transcendent potato squad).
Then again, I rarely go after the same survivor over and over unless it's by accident or I keep finding them for some reason. DS usually doesn't give me trouble.

We've taken feedback on add-ons as well, don't worry. There's only so much time to make changes between a PTB and the actual release, and that post is just for the changes that are locked in for the initial release. It's still possible that there will be some add-on changes in the hotfix, but I can't confirm that just yet. We could also make further base kit tweaks in the following hotifx(es) if necessary.
Peanits, for god sakes.. level with me here: what are the odds that every terrible add-on both billy and LF have will be reworked or made somewhat usable before release? Just say it's not happening if that's the case and put people to rest. It'll piss them off, sure, but at least it's honest. I'd rather know I'm eating ######### rather than have it masquerade as chocolate.

Pyramid Head is super strong in 1v1, sort of like deathslinger. It's on him to make mistakes in the chase for you to truly get ahead, but..
- Watch for his telegraphs and pay close attention to what direction he's looking while using his power. That's where the death line is going to go.
- Funnily enough, breaking LOS and holding W for distance can work wonders if he misses with his power (and even if he doesn't this can be good).
- Dropping pallets or taking vaults within a certain distance of Pyramid Head guarantees that he either gets a power hit or an M1 - it's a super fked up situation. You either get hit, or you get hit. Kind of like deathslinger's zoning, he does something similar to gain distance at almost no cost.
- Do generators. Yes, like nearly every other killer in the game, Pyramid head sacrifices everything for his chase potential. Gen rushing him works just like it does vs other killers.
He's not an easy killer to face, and honestly, even the best survivors will have a difficult time running a good Pyramid Head.
-
Killer, while still secondary in power to survivor, has never been easier to play. Hell, I play killer now to relax since solo has become an absolute ######### nightmare. The odd game like this is no big deal imo.
-
I dunno, I don't always run meta stuff and I do quite well. I mean, I don't escape every game, and my odds are lower not using the best stuff (since I mostly play solo queue), but it's not impossible. Hell, I even run object a lot in solo cause fk it why not. I like knowing what to expect.
Though to be fair, I have way too many killer/survivor hours in this game, so I might be able to experiment a bit more freely without being screeched at (not that it would change how I play).
-
A lot of killers that survivors deem unfun have more impact on a chase than they do, and killers that find survivors unfun typically have less of an impact in that same scenario.
What this really comes down to is neither side being right, but more a core issue with the game itself - pallets are the only hard defense survivors have, with vaults being a soft delay of sorts. A lack of varied defensive options resorts to survivors playing in the one most efficient way they have (looping). When you create killers that seem to ignore this defense or take it away entirely, the survivors feel like they have nothing left to postpone the inevitable, hence, killers feeling "boring."
-
When I was playing solo queue (cause I hate myself):
Killer: "If it wasn't for this ######### Laurie, I'd of killed all of you. Thank her for the carry."
He was right. MAH BACK.
-
I typically run BBQ (sometimes I replace it with something else), sloppy butcher, monitor & abuse (to make my TR less than the aura reading range of nurses), and nurses.
Honestly, if you can deal with the wonky FOV changes due to monitor, I'd say it's one of the most underrated perks on nurse and makes her truly terrifying.
-
Do you like people watching you pee? Yeah, didn't think so.
-
His add-ons are mostly garbage with the exception of three and his power, while not terrible, isn't impactful enough to allow a quick snowball. Demo is one of those jack of all trades, master of none type killers. Sadly, in a game like this, you need an overwhelming strength to offset the survivors ability to efficiently tackle their only objective. It also doesn't help that everything he does is highly telegraphed or noisy, which gives him away even when "undetectable."

If it's not important and you feel like it doesn't need to be in a horror game why don't you just ignore it.
Why do you feel the need to vocalise how it doesn't belong if it's unimportant to you.
I could just ignore it, but.. I mean, why should I? Someone asked a question on an open forum, and I gave an opinion that might be the opposite of what others feel. Crazy, I know, especially in 2020.
Additionally, I could go into a giant novel about how focusing on a character's sexual identity, orientation, etc. as their main draw is weak writing and doesn't make compelling or interesting creations, but hey.. that might fly over the heads of most heavily indoctrinated people. Safer to say it adds nothing, and isn't really something that needs to be in a game just for the sake of ticking a diversity box. Let the devs create or license whatever killers/survivors they want without feeling like they have to include concepts because they're x, y, or z.
Just my 2 cents.
-
It's not important. This is a horror game, but for some reason people have this bizarre idea that there must be some kind of representation in everything. Just take the game for what it is. Yeesh.
-
PH doesn't have much map pressure, but in a chase he's similar to a lot of the other 50/50 killers like deathslinger, spirit, etc. in that he can put you in all types of ######### up situations:
- Drag sword in ground.. vault or drop pallet? Rites of sadness up the bum.
- Fake sword drag = get hit anyway.
This ######### is crazy obnoxious to deal with. The only real consistent counter I've found against PH is mind gaming him at certain tiles for distance + abusing elevated terrain. Traditional loops don't work too well on him - see above reasons.
-
Playable? Yes. Top tier? Nope. This is a pretty harsh gutting. I'll be surprised if he's anything beyond mid tier after this rework.

I’ve actually wanted a TLOU chapter for a while. I would love to play as Ellie! Or Joel. Or ya know, both if they’d allow it.
They're the antagonists tho. Abby is the protagonist, remember? : ))))))

A good way to decrease the number of disconnections is fixing all the stupid crap that comes with the servers - ie. bullshit hits/misses specifically.

J E E P E R S C R E E P E R S
Make it happen. Don't come at me with any bullshit. This character deserves to be in the game.
Besides, flying killer that gets stronger by eating parts of dead/sacrificed survivors? Let's go.
-
Legion's power might as well read "Turn survivors into a generator until they mend." ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
-
Alien. That's not even a choice.
-
Sunk cost fallacy op. Just sayin'.

Good news for you, devs expressed interest in GREATLY improving lighting in the new graphical update whenever we'll see that.
They said it was coming around the time sounds are fixed. : )
-
Just a darker color palette for the game as a whole would add so much more to it. This would definitely push the game more toward horror and a bit further away from action where genres are concerned.
-
The cages are niche, that's fair. They can be used to counter a few select situations such as flashlights in the open, decisive strike, etc.
Good thing his actual power is amazing, providing you with a false choice no matter what you do in certain instances.
-
Two reasons:
- Holding M1 for an even longer amount of time to counter a single perk is boring as hell.
- Getting latency/bullshit hit with NOED is the most aggravating thing in the game.
Just my 2 cents.
-
Yeah, I haven't been playing him as much since the rework. I would've preferred them buffing his old playstyle into viability rather than reworking him into what he is. Of course he's powerful now, but.. I dunno, just seems like a better clown w/TP and slowdown.
-
If you're searching for logic in BVHR's decision making process, I've got bad news for you. This story ain't got a happy ending, chief.

What are you on about?
Would've made more sense with your original topic title, but it has been changed. Oh well.
-
How about this guy?
-
Can we discuss how a lot of killers are silently accepting of the fact that they're carried through some games by garbage servers and perks that don't function? No? Not talking about that? Got it. I'll be over here, 10M away from a window waiting to get hit. Or I'll be using DH which may or may not work and exhaust me anyway.
-
Jeepers Creepers needs to happen. I don't give a ######### about the director's past, I'm looking at the creation, not the person. Give me this character.
-
Felt like this thread could use a necro, seeing as how I'm encountering some seriously uninformed or terrible survivors in solo queue.

@BadMrFrosty i care, when you get to your next game and then it happens again, then again.
i know they track DCs so please keep doing it so it gets turned back on. And yes BHVR has the right and ability to punish actions else it’s the inmates running the asylum.
I mean, this has been about 30% of my games, and I ain't mad. Different folks, different strokes, I guess.
-
Who cares if people D/C, just move on to your next game. I've personally dc'd my fair share, but usually just when there's dumb ######### happening - perks not working/non-sense hits constantly happening or lag. I won't be punished for BVHR's inability to fix their game.
-
Honestly? Who cares anymore. Solo survivor has been such a nightmare recently that I think the DC penalty being gone is a blessing. If you want out as fast as possible due to a ######### team, just take it. You don't owe anyone anything.
As a solo survivor, I ain't mad if you d/c.
As a killer, I don't care if you d/c.
This game is not competitive, it is a joke.
-
Not good enough to make balance decisions, I can tell you that.
-
A better competitor that could grab the same licensed killers. If it wasn't for the familiar faces in this game like Myers, Freddy, etc. I'd of left a long time ago, and BVHR knows it.
