Like it's the only option in the genre with the license power/long term support. I'm praying some good competition comes out soon so I can jump ship.
-
This just cements unbreakable as an amazing perk, if that was ever in any doubt. Also incentivizes bringing good medkits for more self-sufficiency, but realistically, that won't happen every game.
-
I usually just mute the stream (if I watch at all) and tune in for chat. It's usually better than a certain hub.. >.>
-
So outside of either just being nice for its sake or trying to earn brownie points, why are you thanking the developers? Is a game left in its current state worthy of a thank you? Really? Aight. Imma head out.
-
Good question. I'd say ask the person who designed them, but I doubt even they know.
-
The game is easy for killers if they run all of the best possible perks - mori is optional. Why? Most survivors suck ass, and rarely will you fight a solo team filled with average/competent survivors. Those are the teams you'll usually be beaten by, well, that or highly coordinated SWF squads. If it wasn't for good players in solo queue getting sabotaged by idiots (especially with crossplay enabled), then survivor queues would be even longer.
Honestly, most killers should thank BVHR for the matchmaking they have, because if it worked as intended, a lot of people would be uninstalling this game once they realized how easy it is for survivor.

This is true, but like I said, I'm hesitant to count the Twins out until live release and people have had a couple weeks to experiment with the Twins.
They could surprise us yet.
You and I should smoke crack together. I'd love you <3
God bless.

Something I'd just like to remind you guys of:
Back when Blight was coming down the pipeline, everyone said basically the same thing about him that they're saying about the Twins now.
Frankly, I have no idea if the Twins will actually be any good on release, because I don't work at BHVR, but I'm keeping an eye on the Twins because of this general sentiment towards them being weak.
I theorize that there is one specific strategy people have yet to figure out about her, similarly to how Blight was revealed to be almost Nurse-tier strong after people got used to him.
Blight is frustrating to play, but he's mobile and can get downs fairly quickly. He also doesn't have his power disabled for 45 seconds minimum if a survivor decides to carry the baby, gremlin, goblin, w/e the frick on their back.
-
It's simple, most of them got up there by hatch camping, being carried by their much better (way more aggressive/chase oriented) friends, or both. 95% of red ranks don't belong up there, and I think the ranking system is the way it is on purpose. If every red rank survivor was average, most of the terrible killers in this game would quit, since the objective would be done in less than five minutes.
-
Buy with iri shards if you have to, but otherwise no. They're basically releasing them half-assed, so.. I dunno, doesn't seem worth it to me. Not for real money, anyway.

Eh sure it's been bad occasionally since i started playing 3 years ago... This has been nuts. Almost every game aome crazy hit happens. Window fakes seem near impossible almost as if lunge has been increased.. Something not sure but yeah...
When I say it's always been this way, I don't mean -always-. Basically, since their ######### Peruvian servers got introduced, people have been getting dunked on like 6 meters ahead of windows during a run post-vault.
-
It has always been this way, but according to Peanits, it's "just dedicated server issues atm."

In my own opinion, I feel like dh is too strong and in some cases it can carry survivors. Think of all the times somebody wouldve been down or killed if it hadn't been for DH. I dont find it a very skillful perk. All you have to do is click a button and get a free boost. Chases go on for at least another 10 seconds. I feel like if u had to use dead hard, you played the loop wrong. It's like the old ruin argument. Doesnt take much effort for the reward you get.
Dead hard is balanced by the fact that it doesn't even work half the time. Pretty rough downside imo, not to mention it's the only exhaustion perk that has this unique mechanic.
-
- Not doing any generators. Ever.
- Crouching around the map at all times.
- Going down in 30 seconds (if that).
These things really make the game unbearable, since I can't carry three incompetent people if the killer just leaves me to go for them. If you are one of these people, and you know it, with all love and respect: #%$* you. : )
-
I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that if the game became more 'sensible', the toxicity would drop. Nobody is asking for a realistic simulation, but a bit more realism than what is present in the game's basic interactions would be nice. That's all.
-
Take a break, then come back, play for a week or two, and remember why you quit in the first place - ad infinitum. Unless the game is somehow miraculously better......... yeah
-
Most killers, like most survivors, are ######### at this game. They'll resort to whatever's easiest, and it'll serve them well in more than half their matches. As for the matches against good teams? They'll try the same thing, get crushed, then beech about genrush even though they made no effort to play the game.
-
Biggest issues this game faces:
- Your average killer thinking they're way better than they are.
- Non-existent matchmaking that just throws people together cause fk it.
- Lack of a comprehensive tutorial that explains how the game is -really- played.
- No synergy between the wants of casual/competitive players which causes friction - The Sweaty Boi/Gal Pandemic.
If none of these can be addressed, the toxicity stays. At this point it's part of the game's identity.
-
When huntress' hatchets have hitboxes that match their shape. That's when.
-
Don't worry, whenever I solo survivor I get put on a team of rank 31's disguised as red ranks. Not enjoyable either, so it's working both ways.

Jeepers Creepers. A 90's legend.. but I don't think he's getting in because of some complicated issues involving the person who created him. I still want him in.. I like the character :(

Yeah I get that. The community is super split on this. For example Otz recently made a survivor guide video and while I respect him immensely, his video basically boiled down to split up, do gens at all times. No fun allowed. I understand that’s the optimal play but a more casual player like me mightn’t understand this no nonsense attitude to something that’s supposed to be fun. I understand now that my language was a bit inflammatory but I made the post because I just couldn’t really understand the mindset where winning is prioritised over a fun match.
Well, he's right. Unless there's tome objectives to do, there's no real reason to do anything but the generators and wait for a killer chase. The reason killers win at all, in my solo queue experience, is due to two things - stupid save attempts/hook bombing and survivor refusal to do generators. I think it's safe to say that most people agree that holding M1 for a whole game is boring, and it is, but until an alternative objective is presented (that's actually fun, not just another flavor of hold M1), most people will troll and throw games, which skews statistics and causes killers to look more powerful than they are.
I've said this in another thread of mine that I created a while back, but the tldr of it is: survivors create most bad habits in killers that they despise with the exception of tunneling. If you sit on the objective, refuse to buy into a camping killer's painfully predictable trap, and can hold W after getting hit once (without including proper tile play) then you should be escaping 80% of your matches.
What pisses off people like me (who aren't even hyper competitive in this game anymore since realizing it's a joke) is when your team makes stupid decision after stupid decision, causing bad or average killers to win games they otherwise shouldn't have.
EDIT: I'm also of the opinion that tomes exist to cause survivors to play less optimally, encouraging them to chase stupid achievements, thereby inflating the kill rates and making the game look "fine" from a statistical point of view. We all know how much BVHR seems to love their numbers >.>
-
Vote with your wallets as both killer and survivor. They'll either change, sink, or fire a lot of people to keep the money rolling in. Companies don't care about you or the people that work for them most of the time. They care about money, the bottom line, the moolah, the deneiro, the pesos, etc.
Don't be a consumer, be a customer - demand better for your dollar. Or just do what most of you will likely keep doing, mindlessly buying into their product since a large portion of you are addicted to complaining.
-
The problem with this game is that nobody, community or developer, can decide ######### they want out of it. Do they want an ultra competitive, MLG sweatfest where people are hyper optimal, no non-sense gods that only do what's necessary to push the objective? Or do they want a casual experience where '######### happens'. Problem is, you combine two different groups of people looking for entirely opposite experiences, you're gonna get the state DBD is in as an end result.
-
Blight requires a similar amount of skill to nurse, but his payoff is worse in every way. He doesn't ignore anything, he just excels in specific tiles or scores cheeky corner hits due to his wider lunge cone. I'd say just pick up nurse if you want to invest skill into a killer that'll pay off almost every time, guaranteed.
-
I like the post OP, but let's be real here - do you honestly expect any developer at BVHR to answer any of your questions? I mean, I don't think any of them are unreasonable, but no answer they could give wouldn't make them look bad one way or another. Instead, they'll choose silence, it's what most companies do in situations where they'll appear massively incompetent.
You put effort into this post, and it's a shame, because I don't think you'll get anything of substance from a developer. If you do, it'll likely be a deflection or some sort of PR response.
-
Carnage from Marvel. Plz.
-
People have a hero complex. They want to carry their team to victory on the back of their skill in a chase. So naturally when a killer comes out that excels in a chase more than a survivor, they start to realize that all of that skill they've built up doesn't matter vs whatever killer is similar to slinger. That leaves only one true counter, rushing the objective, which is the most boring part of the game - this isn't the fault of either side, but more a failure of the developers to add additional objectives to the game.
-
Gotta tick off those diversity boxes, I guess. This kind of stuff is a huge meme every time it comes up. I'm just here to cut people up and get camped, not think about whether or not the character I'm playing swings every, opposite, or conventional way.
-
Every Hag game I've ever been in as a survivor has been the exact same with an exception rate of about 3% (basement hook into dumb altruism snowball) where my teammates are very knowledgeable/good at the game. Hag is a killer that has very specific counterplay that relies on a couple things - survivors coming with flashlights, bullying her at the start and not letting her set up kill zones, and forcing her to chase into unprepared zones (which she's weak at due to slow movement but strong when properly prepared).
Hag also relies on altruism for a lot of her kills, there will be times where it's better to leave someone on a hook for a bit longer and slam out an extra generator or two before the save.
-
If you're struggling, try using Compound-21 (green bottle) - it'll let you see auras of survivors after a slam within 8M for 3 seconds.
Also, when you slam into an object, don't rush to use a charge immediately, take a tiny bit of time to first look and decide whether or not you're going to adjust your rush or cancel into heroin injection.
-
Don't take DBD or most things too personally. This is just a game, and most people, regardless of their role, aren't having dreams of absolutely crushing your desire to live. Most of them are just here for a meme, a laugh, a loof, a gaff, and a goof. Now, being mad at the game itself for barely functioning, having tons of bugs, no real meaningful features added after 4 years.. yeah, that's reasonable. :P

Oh wow, that's great to know!! I'm glad I commented on here, I have Nancy so I'll start leveling her up :)!
As stated prior, if you -are- an urban evader and you have fun doing it, I'd recommend practicing your chasing skills alongside it. That way, you can play the way you wish while contributing to the overall effort of the team by being difficult to catch once found.
-
I get it, things like this aren't exactly thrilling to hear. Whether or not you want to admit it, there's a lot of truth to what I'm saying. Most players/killers will often speak on why this particular strategy isn't super effective, and many of them have many more hours/experience than I. Like I said, play how you wish, but do so with the knowledge that you're doing your team a disservice if your chasing skills haven't developed alongside your ability to hide.
I knew the risks making a thread like this, since many of you have likely decided to take this personally, but I feel it had to be said. Think about it, at the very least. There's no hostility or hatred in my post, just facts. Read it, agree or disagree with it, and let's have a discussion. You could take the easy route and simply condemn/leave.

Of course, just a survivor who's plan A is stealth. Looping is something that he tends to start once plan A fails (AKA the killer found you). The guy also loves spinechill, lol.
Spine chill is a good perk but not for the reasons people think. It's good in helping you track the "vision cone" of killers that are hard to get a bead on, such as spirit, and assists you in getting to an advantage tile about 4 meters in advance if you're extra cautious. If you are also familiar with how many m/s a killer covers, you can use this to your advantage to determine when you should start running to a strong tile/using sprint burst etc.

For sure. Id say the youtuber Pain reliever is a good example of stealth gameplay done right. he manages to skirt around the killer when needed but stays plenty productive by just maintaining situational awareness.
Pain reliever is an example of a survivor who also knows how to run killers. He's definitely not a one-trick pony in this regard. That said, I'm surprised how many people refuse to look at this factually, and are determined to turn this into some sort of attack on their humanity or something. I just pointed out that this playstyle, as a primary, is detrimental more often than not. Yeesh.

@MongolPSR said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1723094#Comment_1723094
then why is stealth used at higher ranks of play?
Stealth is situational, and typically not used as a primary strategy by more experienced survivors. This post isn't to say that you should never stealth, ever, but more to highlight how stealth as a first and final approach to the game is not as effective as the alternative strategy. : )
-
As I said, this isn't a personal attack on anyone, if you should choose to interpret the OP as such, than of course you can. If it's clear that you're just trying to instigate an argument based on whether or not your character is under attack, I won't respond to you. This post addresses an issue that I think DBD suffers from, and it's that there are people who prefer a certain style of play that, while completely fine to adopt, doesn't lead to as high a rate of success as the more traditional run n' gun a toward objectives/killer.
If DBD had effective stealth mechanics/options that did make it effective, then by all means, that'd be great! I only support more effective styles of play, however, it's quite clear that stealth is not as productive as the aforementioned aggressive method.
Edit: I'd consider my opinion to be fairly informed, as I've not only put a fairly decent amount of time into the game playing survivor and killer, but I've also watched/listened to the opinions of players who play one of and/or both roles as well. Very few of them seem to have a playstyle geared toward stealth, and they will usually outline why.
-
Taking increasingly longer breaks from DBD until I forget about it and never play again. : )

I don't remember how long ago it was but it's got some age to it. My point still stands. If OP thinks Ruin+Undying is powerful can you imagine Undying and old ruin?
There are so many things wrong with this game on both ends that I don't even know if sides are worth taking. I think we can all agree that, one way or another, this game is functional, but borderline broken about half the time. It doesn't take more than 1 - 5 games as both roles to run into many stupid bugs that have plagued (hee) DBD for ages. Perk combinations should be the least of our worries imo, but I can see why someone would find undying/ruin frustrating (esp in solo queue).
