Everything on the screen is spread out, character icons change was unnecessary, and they look way too "out-of-place", also they're a bit distracting, exhaustion icon outline color is bad, so it's hard to tell when your perk is ready to use again. Also, please, get rid of those small button icons on your item or killer power, because that is some tutorial stuff. Make better and longer tutorial where you teach all that stuff.

Game is from 2016 and it has very few in-game options (compared to game file options). I have an option idea!:

    Revert back to old UI

And this has been posted tens of times already:

As usual, people confuse "listening" with "obeying orders unquestioningly".

The devs listened, they just disagreed.

Kind of like how the balance lead disagreed about how Clown is, as the French say, complete dog doodoo?

  • Good. He's basically a wasted killer slot, so we can just pretend he never happened. At least the twins came with definitely-not-a-child and the memes that followed.

  • This game is a good outlet for rage/anger. Once you give way to depression, then I'd say you've got a problem.. boy howdy.

:-/ <---- Sums this up pretty well.

  • Dead by Daylight doesn't have a PTB, it has a hype server. Huge difference.

  • My worst teammates are almost always console players 95% of the time. There's a small minority that are quite good, but the number of terrible console players is much higher on average based on my own experience. Take that for what you will, it's not an ultimate declaration that all console players are bad, more that those I tend to get on my team are god awful more often than not. Just an observation.

If queue times wouldn't take 8000 additional years to find a match, I'd have turned off crossplay a long time ago.

I still dont get why people act like Freddy is completely busted. Because of stats? The top percentage of players at this game, the sweatlords who go around from tournament to tournament all have Nurse as their number 1 pick. Perhaps there’s a case to be made for Freddy being too easy for his strength like Hillbilly was but he’s not actually overpowered. He’s not even a top 3 killer. In fact Freddy stands as a good example of general play vs high level play. He dominates public games yet barely gets a look-in in competitive play.

For me the balance is still survivor sided based on the early game, map design, and how swf can stack so much along with voice chat. I’d say map design is the number 1 issue.

Map design is a problem, you're right. Problem is, BVHR either doesn't believe in or is incapable of designing maps that are reasonable for both sides more often than not. Look at their recent reworks/new maps and tell me how those turned out. Honestly, I'm thinking they're just hoping they 'get lucky' on whatever garbage they slap together and pray it all works out to be roughly even for killer and survivor.

  • DBD rewards you for dc'ing, so why would you stop? I mean, you can't play DBD if you d/c, so I don't see a downside. It's like a much needed forced intervention. Once you've figured out how their ban system works, you can d/c up to a certain limit, than stop playing the game and go do something worthwhile. If the devs gave a #########, they'd fix their game, but they don't, so just do whatever you want. Rules are out the window at this point, and the time for being 'wholesome' and 'civil' is long past. Most people probably play this out of spite at this point anyway. Just my two cents.

"Better not d/c from our horribly buggy, broken game, otherwise we'll stop you from playing it!" I see this as a complete win.

  • New killer looks like a complete goof. Compare his aesthetic to the rest of the cast in the context of the setting. I'm taking into account only the base appearance of every killer and not their optional cosmetics.

I didn't. I just said that it doesn't make sense to say you are part of the last generation in the first sentence and than "not all of the younger generation" in your second sentence. Those a contradictory statements, you are either the last or you're not.

It would have been a different case if you would have said something like "I am part of the last generation were common sense was widespread as opposed to the younger generation were common sense is very rare."

I wouldn't agree with this statement either but atleast it would have been coherent.

But since you mentioned making a point: Interesting that you only commented on my admittedly a bit nitpicky phrasing critic, but ignored my other points.

    No arguments against them?

You stated the obvious in your post, and I speak from a western perspective (North America). To cover every single factor with regard to what contributes to a lot of business decisions (where inclusion and this game is concerned) would extend my post far beyond a reasonable size. I'll be honest, I'm not going to spend days going back and forth in this thread with you over literally nothing, since I don't care that much. My points were pretty simple and easy to understand, you either agree with them or you don't. Sorry (not sorry) to say I'm not here to debate with you, as I covered my bases. Anything else is just semantics at this point. Take from that what you will.

Saying that you are part of the LAST generation that could develop common sense kind of contradicts your second statement.

Social media is used by people of all ages and all political believes.

The education thing is dependant on country, region and institution. People also have different opinion on what is a radical political believe and what not.

Seems like you ignored the "not all" part, but hey, whatever helps you make your point. : - /

    Why?

Let me preface by saying I'm not LGBT-phobic or spreading hate speech or anything, I'm just stating my opinion.

If a character is made ONLY to be LGBT and that's their WHOLE personality, then it wouldn't be a good addition, neither would cheesily integrating it into a character's current lore.

WHY does it matter if there's an LGBT character? Why do we need one? What's the point? "oH hEY gUys, wE aDdeD An LGBT cHaRIcTer." I don't care whether my character is a regular ass person or a goddamn gay tomato, I just want the gameplay to be good.

    There just isn't a reason.

Thank you for coming to my very short TED talk.

I think I grew up in the last generation where there was still a small pocket of people that could develop and apply common sense (90's). Not to say that everyone belonging to younger gens are the opposite, but it's far more common since social media/educational institutions have turned into propaganda machines that spew heavily left leaning rhetoric and ideas with no one to balance or check them with sensible alternatives.

It doesn't matter, it's essentially begging to be pandered to. I've always thought that things like orientation don't contribute anything truly meaningful to a character's development, especially if that's their whole 'selling point'. "Look, a gay character! We added them!" Sounds more like a circus act announcing its unusual freak show star than a genuine attempt at crafting something interesting and new. The best part is that the people that would rather not be viewed this way are typically silent on the issue, and those who advocate for them are often part of a very persistent, vocal minority that look to virtue signal.

    Bless.

  • Original title post updated with the best possible version.

  • Inb4 some absolute genius developer or mod suggests you run predator if you're having problems with scratches.

Edit: The fact that I'm so used to breaking the pallets in that loop and therefore didn't even comment on it is a lol.

  • BVHR been slacking with the gameplay lore, so I figured I'd release a high quality, high effort, 4K resolution pic to best represent the DBD experience.

  • New killer is terrible, they just excel at the most sleep tier tactics in the game if they can get going, and that's the problem. BVHR seems to have unintentionally (benefit of the doubt) designed a killer that is especially good at all the things survivors hate. Best part? I know you bought that onesie.

  • I wouldn't say that's an unreasonable opinion. Small groups of survivors and a tiny minority of solos are a bit scummy, but honestly, I find killers to be the worst, and I've played more killer than survivor. Scummy killers are also the first to complain about "toxic SWF" and claim they get these crazy, coordinated DEPIP squads every game. Translation: "I usually play terribly and resort to ineffective tactics (that only work against uncoordinated solos), but refuse to accept that average SWFs are beating me, so I'll just pretend they're the best survivors in the game and claim that's all I get. BVHR, please give me another bloodlust-esque leg up. No, I can't improve how I play and no, the tactics I'm using aren't flawed. I'm just fighting tournament level teams all the time, that's all."

Something like that, anyway. Most games, if I lose, it's generally because I dun goofed. Badly. There's the odd game where the imbalance across maps shows, but in all honesty, it's super rare against most teams (even SWF). Pretending otherwise is just dishonest.

Edit: The game has never been easier for killer, I mean, have you looked at most of the new, non-linked tiles? Christ they're awful. Killers can just bloodlust around them or, in some cases, "just go around, lol."

  • Break line of sight and always look for opportunities to hold W to gain distance. Also, be unpredictable in your movements and don't overuse the "run back into her strat." If the nurse is good, that won't work for long, if at all. But the best strat against any one of the mythical, maybe 10 - 20 literal god nurses? Nothing.

Otherwise, pray they suck or that your team sucks less. I think that's the best strat imo.

I did but he also gave reasons why it should be removed and I'm giving him the consequences of what he's talking about.

If a killer gets BL3, in all but the most specific and unlikely of circumstances (genuine infinites), he screwed up, badly, and should lose the game for it.

  • It's straight poopy, that's why.

  • @Rattman said:

Feeling bad for killing swf? Hell no, screw swf.

The alternative is getting idiots in solo queue for the entirety of your day with one or two SS+ tier survivor teams if you're incredibly lucky. Your move, Kaiba.

  • Bloodlust rewards killers for playing poorly and allows them to get hits even in situations where "infinites" are not present. It's a cheap mechanic used to negate overall skill by stacking a ridiculous speed boost on the killer over time. Even if it's not time efficient to stack it to the max, it's still a garbage way to go down. Why did you go down? Outplayed? Mindgamed? None - killer stacked a sanic boost and chased me around an already semi-unsafe pallet.

It's generally more time efficient to just break a pallet unless it's already pretty unsafe.

  • Even if this is a counter, the slow rate at which you'll approach the hook buys the killer a ridiculous amount of time, especially in the basement. It's literally just hag all over again, except she's already at the hook without a teleport.

  • How about they keep him powerful and just make him, I dunno.. INTERESTING? I used to play a ton of old Freddy, and yes, while he was total crap compared to the current version, he could be really fun (Spooky Fred especially). That version of him could've been buffed enough to be viable and unique, but BVHR instead went with "Let's make clown and hag with a generator teleport." I mean come on, it's Freddy! The guy can do anything and that's what they settled on. My leg. MY LEG.

  • Do most killers want survivors to only run DS/Unbreakable/BT? This is how you get it.

  • @blue4zion said:

    Definite camping pros.

Biggest con to camping is losing pressure on the rest of the survivors, but that's barely a problem for the Twins.

That's just the con of camping with any killer. That is, if you're facing a good team of solos (almost never happens) or a solid SWF (also, very rare). So usually just camping the ######### out of every hook will work pretty good. Most survivors don't wanna sit on gens all game, give you your one kill, and leave. That's pretty dull imo.

  • This wouldn't be the first killer that encourages lurking within 20M of the hook at all times. I mean, Hag exists.

  • Neither role is that fun. Like heroin, there are high periods and extreme low periods. That is this game in a nutshell, that's why people keep playing it in spite of its consistently terrible state. It's a simple formula:

DBD gameplay loop (injection) --> evading a killer/4k'ing (the initial high) --> being camped/tunneled/excessively slugged/gen-rushed/rolling bad maps/no kills (sinking to low point) --> End of game with little points or sense of accomplishment (extreme low). Repeat to chase the initial high forever.

I believe its a pill or capsule shape, not a square. Also an issue you may experience is with latency.

This has been disproven with kill your friends matches, where hits are tested over objects/near survivors. You can clearly see the massive overextension of the pill or square, whichever. If you need proof because you can't google or youtube some videos, I can provide some. It's not "just latency" as a lot of people will say. This is an actual issue of hitboxes being massively oversized. Latency only contributes so much.

  • You should, she's a shining example of a killer who rewards the person playing her for being "close enough" with their power. Not actually hitting your model, but a much too big invisible square around you. Even if they shrunk it down to the size of the largest male character and applied it to most of the females, it would make hits look way better. But I guess it's easier to just paste a massive square on people and call it a day, so every time she throws a hatchet at you, it's like a CS:GO player tossing a grenade around a corner.

  • Why is getting completely tunneled out of the game because you wanted to run perks that aren't DS still a thing? No one knows. Why is getting camped to death by 1-shot killers still a thing? Nobody knows. Why are keys and moris a thing? Nobody knows. What happens after death? Well, much like the many mysteries of DBD, nobody knows.

  • Experiment with +1% movement speed per generator completed if they want it to be truly scary and late game. Losing generators is super #########, so a nice plus side to an otherwise garbage perk would be appreciated. Movement is the most valuable thing in the game for killer, so getting faster as the game nears completion is not out of the question.

    "Game works just fine"

You mean how 5 out of the 6 new perks don't even work? Or how you can pull Victor out and have a pretty good chance of him being stuck in the ground?

HELL, the very first game I played in this chapter was on Ormond as Blight, and my power was bugged, so I couldn't use his rush at all.

But yeah the game's working fine right? Better give them some more money right?

Not necessary to say man, he's aware the game has bugs, but if it was even half as bad as the complaints make it out to be, it wouldn't have the massive fan base that it does.

There is a constant stream of entitled complaining that im sure the devs and mods are sick of. Ya know, they've made good money. They could easily just stop supporting the game and work on a new development. I bet y'all would complain about that too. 70% of the people on this forum DO complain unfairly, not for "lulz" but because they can't come to terms with their own shortcomings and look for anything to shirk their losses on.

Its great when people report bugs, im happy that it happens because that's how the game gets better. But most complaints are "xyz bug / subpar release / balancing issue / quality of life issue has ruined the game. Im quitting/I'm owed something/the developers need to drop everything and bend to my whims". I'm so sick of seeing it.

If someone wants to s#!t on the dev team in this way, I say: "They made a game you love, otherwise quit and fade into obscurity quietly" But they don't, they keep playing, because its a fantastic game. Any game that has been out this long with this much new content added is going to have some constant fine tuning to do. Theres so many intricate moving parts with variations on how they were initially coded based on release date. I can only imagine how difficult it is to rework things, even if they were using UE's visual scripting.

Its a hard job. They deserve a break and a thank you every now and again.

Expecting a reasonable level of functionality out of a product you paid for, and continue to pay for (likely), is not entitled nor is it unreasonable. I don't know where people get this idea where, as a customer, you should just take the spoonful of crap and stuff it in your gob. Don't complain! They worked really hard. I mean yeah, everything is always breaking at the drop of a hat, and sure, at any point something you paid for could just "not work" and be disabled/non-functional for weeks at a time or even months. Just be grateful they decided to continue to support their only successful game! It's not like the other one died a horrible death and they have nothing else to crawl back to but their original one-hit wonder. OH WAIT.

Look man, I'm not being a wiener for fun, most people aren't. The deal is simple: BVHR puts out quality and I throw money at them. I'm not a consumer, I'm a customer, and if your product starts to decline, you're not giving me many options if you continue to ignore any and all feedback from the community.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1795584#Comment_1795584

Agreed. I am sure the devs are good people. But the changes they have made and the issues they have ignored and continue to ignore (such as DS) has made most people incredibly frustrated. Just look at this chapter, it is a cluster of loads of bugs as well as an unfinished killer that is also bugged. Right now, appraisal is the last thing the devs need, they need critical feedback that they actually listen to community and core issues with the game. But you know what? They haven't, just look at the QnA stream they just had. They just ignored DS for the most part and of course dodged questions regarding this chapter; we can tell because there was not a single question about the negative impact of the new chapter. I don't mean to sound like those people on the forums, but they really do need to fix this game.

Krampus trapper was supposed to fix all the bugs. Did it not work for you? I've noticed hits through windows have been completely legit and dead hard works as intended now.

  • The intent of your thread is obviously good natured, but I'm hoping you realize that people aren't just mean to the developers of DBD 'for the lols'. We're four years into the life of this game and it's still as buggy and unfinished as it was during release, if not barely better. Nobody is here, devoting their time and energy into forum posts/feedback because they hate the developers or the game, they just want it to be better. Unfortunately, we've hit this brick wall where it seems the developers think they know better in spite of suggestions and ideas from players who make a living playing their game.

People will be nice to you if you deserve it, and while there will always be some bad apples in the bunch, if the majority of your fanbase is negative and cynical regarding your product, you have to look down the line and ask if any of it was your fault. Most of us that are still with this game aren't doing it out of some malicious desire to ruin a developers day by calling them ######### every day. That's comic book villain non-sense, and most people aren't like that. They're just disappointed at where the game is at after all this time, and BVHR has only grown since release and made some decent profits.

  • They're probably forced into it since Deathgarden flopped big time and they've recognized that they're a one-hit wonder at the moment. Not a good place to be as a studio that likely wants to grow and expand.

  • The best survivors can, sure. For those of us who solo, this game just became twice as much of a nightmare with nearly double the dead space - same logic applies to the new Ormond. God damn these maps got gutted pretty hard, as in - any misuse of resources, even slight, and you might just lose the game. Great, if you SWF all the time. Us solo folks? Takin' it in the BUM... again..
