  • Thats a Ping Indicator. It is gray when it is higher and red when it is super-high. But I dont have the numbers in my head.

I really like what the Devs do for the anniversaries, but the broken gruesome gateau is a major bummer. Perhaps with the extended week they could also give another free bloodpoint bonus to make up for all the lost points and offerings?

    They actually do:

A one-time bonus Bloodpoint will be available on login between July 7th and July 14th - 11AM ET

expecting regular players to record every game in case an error occurs puts a level of evidence on users that is not exactly viable.

In my instance, I had a screenshot showing I was logged on, but got a DC penalty, so how would I disconnect and still be logged in the game? But yeah everyone without a video is lying

I said "evidence" not "video": Also I said "most of the time" and not "everyone". Would be nice to go for what I actually wrote.

as per usual, people have been complaining about getting timedout for no reason, like I did. Made a thread, Had to scour google try to find out what caused it, not much help regarding problem.

big streamer gets a DC penalty yesterday on stream = disable the DC penalty quick!

To be fair, then there is evidence that something is going wrong. I would not trust any random who claims that it was not his fault that they have a penalty. Because most of the time they are lying.

  • Yeah, currently disabled. Apparently it can be hacked so that people can have long ban times.

Already noticed it, two DCs against a Spirit and I got slugged so that she got her 2K. :]

  • The Survivor Ping should not matter when setting Traps as Trapper. The Server could have had some problems (or maybe got DDOSed), but if a Survivor with bad Ping is playing, you should not have any problems with setting Traps.

Survivor Queue Times are longer than Killer for me. 🤷‍♂️

    ---

There's a reason they changed matchmaking the way they did. As many have posted on here, Brown/Yellow rank Killers are being matched with Red Rank Survivors because there are so few Red Rank Killers compared to Red Rank Survivors.

That and SWF matchmaking is either bugged or just set to punish lower ranked Killers.

    Just made the test:

    Killer: 7 minutes 3 seconds

    Survivor: 2 minutes 17 seconds

both in Red Ranks. The earlier it is in the day, the longer/shorter my Queue Times are. Like, this morning I had instant Survivor Queues, but I would not even try to play Killer.

In the evening I have instant Killer queues, but dont wait longer than those 2 minutes for Survivor.

I think some of the people saying that are playing on console. People should probably clarify when they talk about game balance/lack of killers/etc. whether they mean console or PC because it’s like talking about two different games.

My experience is the same as yours - killer queues are as long as or longer than survivor queues these days. On PS4 though it’s a totally different story, killer queues are instant and survivors wait 20 minutes.

I mean, I think on PS4 low Rank Killers and high Rank SWFs have both long Queue Times. And get mixed together, eventually.

I played this morning and got instant Survivor Queues. But if I play Killer during that time, I have to wait almost 10 minutes.

Its just stupid that people still want to push this narrative "There are no Red Rank Killers anymore!". When Killer queues are long, you dont read "No Red Rank Survivors anymore" in this Killer-sided forum.

  • Tell that to my Red Rank Killer Queue Times.

Yeah, but you said "sadly bloodlust exists" as a general statement, as if bloodlust shouldn't exist. Even in the context of "fair to play pallets" bloodlust is there for a reason, which is to prevent survivors from extending chases for minutes on end regardless of how "fair" a pallet is.

The game isn't balanced around fair "1 v 1" contests around pallets and loops nor should it be in the first place, there are 4 survivors for a reason and if every one of them could "fairly" outplay the killer for minutes on end then balance is completely turned belly up. The idea is about having an individual survivors capabilities just shy of what the killer can do so that yes, it is possible for a survivor to outplay a killer, but also so that generally speaking: the killer is the one winning these chases forcing a certain amount of teamwork to be necessary in order to come out on top. In this way the game is all about extending chases for as long as possible (not forever) and budgeting time appropriately for saves, heals, totems, travel time, chases, etc. in comparison to how many generators are left.

Not to mention, these pallets are unsafe for a reason, because there's a lot more of them so there's a lot more to work with there, they're not meant for you to stay at and loop for any longer length of time, something you yourself did mention.

And for someone as active on the forums as you I would expect you to know that (referring to first paragraph after first sentence), so no I'm not "implying" anything I'm directly calling you out on your choice of words (which albeit, is very nitpicky and I did agree with everything else you said in that post, but I've written this far I'm not going to bail out now) and what they "imply" as if Bloodlust isn't completely warranted and that it's an unfair mechanic.

Instead, of saying "sadly bloodlust exists" as if to imply bloodlust shouldn't or should be changed somehow, a more appropriate suggestion that I think is very suitable given the context is the idea of creating a second kind of pallet and place them only at unsafe loops. These are heavier, and stun killers for a longer period of time, encouraging survivors to get the stun and rewarding those who play these tiles correctly by giving survivors more time to gain distance and run away. This would also discourage bloodlust

Curiously enough, Scott Jund mentioned this idea in his 2nd ep. of his running series "Idea Review"

    https://youtu.be/PugO7ovhaYY?t=762

I mean, thats what I wrote:

"E.g. the Outside-Pallets on Badham are fair and not too safe. You can waste some time here, but it is better to not stay at the loop too much. Sadly Bloodlust exists, so those fair Pallets become unfair, since the Killer gets a Speedboost after a while, which makes it even more difficult to play the Pallet or to make it to another Pallet."

This is one whole paragraph. So for me, it is logical that it is all for the same point - Badham Pallets. If that did not get delivered like that, sorry, but for me, it made sense when writing it.

Also, the 1v1 vs 1v4 mentality... Yeah, I know, fanboys of a certain Streamer brought it up. But the individual Skill of a Survivor should never be ignored. It should never be 100% guaranteed that a chase can end quickly, because it is a 1v4. And combining multiple Structures and being efficient with Pallets is the one thing which separates the really good Survivors from the good/mediocre Survivors. A really good Survivor might need to use two Pallets for a long Chase, while a mediocre Survivor needs to use four.

And I think it is also fine that there are Survivors where the Killer should not go on a Chase at this point in a match. This does not mean they should never be able to chase them, but it is a 1v4 - so there are 3 other Survivors who are potentially not as good as the one Survivor the Killer cannot catch OR are at weaker setups.

But, lets come back to Pallets:

In my opinion, Badham has really good Pallets. I am not talking about the School or the House of Pain, I am talking about the Pallets outside. Those are playable by Killers. They dont really need to break them to get a Hit, they can try to outplay the Survivor. The Survivor on the other hand can outplay the Killer as well and can get to the next Pallet.

I am not saying that Bloodlust as a general mechanic needs to be removed. But when it comes to Pallets like this, it makes fair pallets unfair, it does not take that long to get Bloodlust 1 and that should be enough to get a Hit. And while it is a mechanic which is still needed, because not all Pallets are fair, it is a handholding mechanic, after all. And well, bloodlusting Killers are the worse, sure, they will most likely lose and they are not skilled, but it still feels cheap to get hit or downed by this.

Now, when we look at the general Pallet Play, there are two issues in my opinion which affect both sides - there are too less Pallets and Pallets are too safe in general. Too less Pallets simply means, if a Survivor is ressourceful with the Pallets, they are fine. But not every Survivor is ressourceful, they sometimes waste the Pallets (e.g. after they got hit), which makes it unusable for other Survivors, since the Killer will kick the Pallet. Why would he kick it? Because it is too safe to be played.

And this is another thing - with a lot of safe Pallets, the Killer has to wait for the Drop and they have to kick it. For me, this is kinda boring gameplay. I would rather try to outplay a Survivor at an up or thrown Pallet instead of trying to outplay them while the Pallet is up and having to break them, while the Pallet is dropped. The peak of this can be found on The Game - this is w-gameplay on both sides. There are like two Windows on the Map and if we look at the Pallets near the Basement, there is not much Killers or Survivors can do. They press W until the Pallet is thrown, Killer kicks it and thats it. Neither is there any skill involved nor is it really entertaining.

So I think, really few safe Pallets and a bunch of unsafe/fair Pallets (not too unsafe of course, not something like Temple of Purgation downstairs) would be better and more fun to play with. And they would not ######### over Survivors if their teammates are wasting Pallets. Nothing worse than the Rank 15 Meghead who is throwing every safe Pallet for the gold Evader, while everyone else cannot do anything anymore.

And for that, Bloodlust would need to go. If Pallets are playable when thrown, Killers would also not really need Bloodlust IMO. It would also increase the Skill Level on both sides.

As we released the event last week, it's been brought to our attention that some issues were occurring with Ghastly Gateau and Crown of the Entity. To make sure everyone is able to enjoy the 4th Anniversary event, we have decided to extend the event and offer a one-time additional Bloodpoint login bonus.

    Changes to the event

    • The event is extended to July 14th, 2020 - 11AM ET
    • A one-time bonus Bloodpoint will be available on login between July 7th and July 14th - 11AM ET

    Known issues status

We are aiming for a hotfix for the Ghastly Gateau & Konami code late next week.

    • Ghastly Gateau stacking issue will be fixed in the next hotfix
    • Ghastly Gateau Bloodpoint bonus will be fixed from 140% to 104% in the next hotfix
    • Players sometimes are unable to unlock crowns - Still under investigation

Thank you to players who have reported the issues and sent information, this helps us continue our internal investigations as we work towards a fix for the remaining issue with the Crown of the Entity.

    There you go.

Should apparently be released on Friday.

@Topic: It would be great if it would be patched today, but since they even said "late next week", I dont have that much hope for it.

  • Blinding is not really hard. Just blind at Pallets. This is not really that useful, because a good Killer will most likely be able to follow you (especially when injured), but it allows some easy blinds. Does not really work for Hag and Spirit tho.

Blinding while the Killer is walking is a bad idea. This will not work out, at all.

  • Yes, great idea to punish Players for Ranking up.

Can Red Rank Killers have Moris disabled and have to hook Survivors 4 times instead of 3 times? You know, for more of a challenge.

  • I hope not. Survivor Bloodwebs are already stuffed with Garbage.

If you dont use Keys, you have a lot of Garbage you dont want to have.

Toolboxes are basically useless for Repairs, so aside from Sabotage-Add Ons or Alexs Toolbox (which are both also not amazing), the rest is not worth taking (except maybe BNPs, but I am sure that this will get nerfed at some point).

    Medkits are decent

Flashlights are decent, but have also quite a bunch of useless stuff

Maps are okish, but also a lot of useless Add Ons.

If now another Item would be introduced with more Add Ons, this would just decrease the Chance of getting specific Add Ons even more. And most likely the Item itself or the Add Ons would be quite underwhelming.

That is behaviour not giving a crap weather or not they retain new players or not.

    Smart marketing move there.

Except that this guy is not a new player.

  • You are not a real Rank 15 either, looking at your Perks and Add Ons, which you even protect with a Black Ward.

They dont need to imply. They're (or I am) specifically saying that without bloodlust survivors would have almost no trouble running nonstop with no threat except their own fumbles. Which is how it already is for the most part.

In plain text. Sadly? You think killers dont need any compensation to help with the half broken loops that still exist? Or would you like to elaborate on why bloodlust is a bad idea and "sadly" exists. From a non biased standpoint, like I am, if even possible.

Inb4: ___ main. I play both. And as weve argued before, I know you know this.

I was talking about FAIR Loops. Like Badham. Which I also wrote. You cannot tell me that a Killer needs Bloodlust for those Pallets on Badham which are not in any Building.

You can put 2 bag perks and carry, I think, 4 at a time.

Yeah, but OP also wrote about addonless. Like, I play Pig all the time without Add Ons. While Trapper always (and I mean: 100% of the time) has one Slot dedicated to a Bag.

  • If you go for perkless performance, Pig would be way higher. She has a Build-In Slowdown, which already can give an advantage. Yes, the Traps are RNG; but they are guaranteed timewasters, even if they get it off at the first Box.

In comparison, Trapper, who you put one Tier higher, is a Killer who needs to set a Trap to pick up another Trap.

  • @microwavablefootball said:

A year ago people say things from 500k to 1mil but since then the number of perks you can get per blood web has increased, so how many would you say? (Im doing doctor)

Thing is, even with 1 Million BPs you will not get to the Level where you can grab two Perks from a Bloodweb. So the answer is - as much as possible aka 1 Million. Personally, I just use every BP-Offering (except the brown ones) and prestige and get the rest of the BPs to get to Level 50 again with some Killer games.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot - luckily Killers can just run around a Loop without breaking the Pallet, when the Pallet is completely fair to play for both sides.

Or do you want to imply something again? I am not talking about strong Loops here, just before you make something up again.

  • Not every Pallet is 100% playable once thrown. There are some really strong Pallets at Jungle Gyms and Long Walls. Those need to be broken by the Killer, otherwise they will not get a Survivor here.

But what you described, small sides next to the Pallet, those are unsafe Pallets. You can try to play it as Survivor, but as long as the Killer is not bad, they will most likely get a Hit. The Key here is to either get the Stun and then get away, or to fake the Killer into an action and use the Distance to go to the next Pallet.

E.g. the Outside-Pallets on Badham are fair and not too safe. You can waste some time here, but it is better to not stay at the loop too much. Sadly Bloodlust exists, so those fair Pallets become unfair, since the Killer gets a Speedboost after a while, which makes it even more difficult to play the Pallet or to make it to another Pallet.

You can also try to combine two weaker Pallets and maybe get quite a good Setup. This works on a Map like Hawkins, for example. (But also only to an extend, since Hawkins-Pallets are pure garbage)

  • The counterplay to his Ranged Attack is pretty limited. The problem is that there is no Delay after cancelling the Power, meaning that he can either use it if the Survivor takes the Window/Pallet or just cancel it and get the M1. Meanwhile, if using the Power, there is a huge ass Cooldown. So it is basically better to fake it and go for M1 than actually using it.

I dont know, the longer Pyramid Head is on live, the more I think he is just a big failed design.

  • "Toxic" does not have any meaning anymore. People are using it for basically everything they dont like.

  • @FellowKillerMain said:

Yeah... running a bad killer the whole game just to leave with 13k BPs, or 8k if you don't escape. Takes an excellent player to pull off chases that long, and it happens lots.

Thats the issue of the Category Cap. It is capped at 8k, so doing a ton of chases or a lot of Gens will not pay off BP-wise.

  • I always prefer Original Content. A Robot/Android would be nice (even if the Lore would be difficult) and I feel we are missing a Knight.

  • Well, depends only if you consider an Escape or not. Someone who has less BPs and escaped than another Player who did not escape, will most likely have done less.

But other than that, not really an indicator. You can work on 2 Gens with another Survivor and you will end up having more Objective Points than the guy who did 3 Gens alone, even tho that person did more for the team.

Also, BPs are capped. If you get chased the whole game and allow your team to do Gens/Unhooks and so on, you will get less BPs than them, even tho you most likely did the most.

And last but not least, some things just give BPs for existing. Like escaping while being the Obsession grants 1500 points. If you hit a DS before, this is 2500 BPs in Survival another Survivor might not have had a chance to get.

BPs are usually quite bad to indicate who was the best player of the team.

  • Hey, let me do Fashion by Daylight while you are all waiting for me!

    20200527221341_1.jpg

This is a wall at the Storehouse. Without the Map I would not have found the Totem. There are some really good Totem Spots out there, especially on newer Maps.

  • Is he the last Survivor? If so, you probably messed up your Hooks. If not, just let him go, he either will be in another area later or he will be useless in that same area all the time. I mean, you cannot afford to hunt the same guy all the time anyway, if there are other Survivors alive.

But if you used all the Hooks in that area, that is on you. I never ran into the situation to not find a Hook on The Game, the only map with really stupid Hook spawns are the Swamp Maps, from my experience.

(I mean, could entirely be possible that The Game can have bad Hook Spawns as well, but I have never seen it so far)

  • I dont think that there will be an increase in Bugs. However, it will be interesting to see if they are able to optimize the game so that it will not kill PCs or Consoles which should usually be able to run those graphics.

  • The game is clearly dying.

  • You wont get a 6 hour Ban for Disconnecting once. You have DCed way more often to get such a huge ban.

Counters, as in completely negate Iron Will? Well ######### I actually never knew that. Recently came back from a hiatus missed a few chapters.

Interesting, that has to be it then.

    Good to know.

Yeah, its kinda stupid. You hear often that Iron Will is the counter against Spirit (which is not the case), but they can counter (and really counter) it with Stridor.

But it is still one of the best (IMO the best) Survivor Perk.

  • Could have multiple reasons. Second guy could have suicided because he does not want to play a 3v1. Or they suicided because nobody did anything while they got chased.

Or they were just salty (the first guy, at least).

Or the Wraith simply camped them and they did not want to hang around for 2 minutes.

  • Did the Killer have the Perk "Stridor"? Stridor counters Iron Will, you will make sounds with 50% volume. Mostly run by Spirits.

My Iron Will works just fine.

  • You have to hit with a Hatchet 15 times. If you would need to hit 15 different Survivors, it would have been stated in the Challenge.

Any Killer can be good in public lobby's. I don't understand his point at all. If he were to play against pre-made 4mans then he'd prove a point. But playing against randoms doesn't mean anything. I've gotten countless 4K's with Bubba in my 3.5K hrs. Of course I'm not saying he's a bad player but his point isn't proven unless these people are of equal skill and are the "1%".

All Killers can 4K, everyone knows this and he is not proving anything by stomping randoms. I'm sorry but if I can do that without even half the hours he's not proving anything.

tru3 does the Big Brain-Move and plays against Solos and claims that they were an "optimal 4 man team".

  • It feeds the narrative that Killer is REALLY, REALLY hard to play (haha).

In my region, it is mostly depending on the time of the Day. And it seems to be like that in other Regions too.

I really hope they do add something to this skin in a future patch, otherwise I will never buy another legendary skin set again.

I think that the Devs will have a hard time selling Legendary Skins in general. This Skin had mostly negative feedbac. And while it looks stunning, it is not worth the extra 5 Bucks.

And well, since the first Legendary Skin got a lot of negative feedback, next Legendary Skins will have a hard time to impress.

Right now the Killer gets punished if the team saves late, which is worse tbh

The Killer does not really get punished because 1 person is longer not on a Gen. And well, when it comes to time wasted, it is not that relevant for the Killer when the Unhook happens. At some point one Survivor has to go, meaning that there will be one additional Survivor who is not working on a Gen.

You already get punished in this game if your team is bad. That's nothing new.

I'm just trying to decrease the reward for coordinated and high level teams playing well.

Why exactly should it be positive that good coordination gets less rewarded? Solos can also be coordinated.

  • Thats terrible. So I should get punished because my Team does not save me early? Eh.
