  • As it stands now, EGC is just a joke and flair. More so because the survivors pretty much dictate when it happens via 99% the gates. Unless they get forced to open it if the killer is closing in on them.

EGC should be more exciting and tense. Allowing the EGC to start when the last gen pops and removing the ability to 99% the gates doesn’t guarantee a kill. Hook grabs have been removed, base kit BT implemented, various perks to grant endurance, and typical bodyblocking.

Will it ever play out perfectly with the survivor getting saved after being hooked once the entire match during EGC? Of course not. But that should be part of the tense and danger EGC should bring. Survivors shouldn’t be able to guarantee themselves escapes as well right?

It still wouldnt guarantee the killer a kill in this day and age. I want EGC to have more impact and actually be tense. As I feel it should’ve been from the start.

  • I just think the EGC could start as soon as the last gen pops. They can extend the duration if they want to compensate. Especially for No Way Out being even more valuable as a result from that potential change.

As for 99% the gates, just have them naturally regress over time if left alone with said progress.

The EGC should be more tense.

I remember when DBD was new, and Survivors could literally perma-break hooks. Ended up with half the map being dead zones that Survivors would run too so they could never be hooked.

And then they would cry they were being slugged.

    Good times.

    Oh yeaaa,

Or when you main trapper in the early stages of dbd only to have games where survivors could perma sabo your traps. Making you a half ass m1 killer. Good times there lol.

Kids today just don't know how good they have it in comparison XD

Not knocking on you OP, but trust me, sabo is no where as bad as it use to be.

  • I really just want him to start with 2 or 3 traps as base kit. Help his set up time a bit.

  • It isn't fun for the person being tunneled, sure, but at the end of the day it is the Killer's objective. To secure kills.

Just as it is the Survivors objective to do gens.

Did the Killer have the Perk "Stridor"? Stridor counters Iron Will, you will make sounds with 50% volume. Mostly run by Spirits.

My Iron Will works just fine.

Counters, as in completely negate Iron Will? Well ######### I actually never knew that. Recently came back from a hiatus missed a few chapters.

Interesting, that has to be it then.

    Good to know.

EDIT Actually I forgot, thats a Nurse perk. It really negates it? Would make sense. 100% noise reduction IW. 150% Due to Stridor. 50% remaining. Never used Stridor, never tried with Spirit or just played Spirit in general. Again, good to know.

  • Been hearing the same, but don't know the actual source either.

    Time will tell.

For the hundredth time, they don’t stack multiplicatively with double BP. If you used a cake during the double BP event you’d get 100+100+104, not 204*2.

Using your logic and math. Would you rather get an increase of 140% BPs that don't stack with other cakes or ANY other offering like Streamers, and is only for you?

    Or...

Save them when they're fixed, give the appropriate 104% BP increase, to everybody, that stacks with other cakes an other offerings like Streamers, up to 5 times if everyone uses such offerings, with a possible 2x double BP event on top of that?

Now if you don't see the difference in value, I really don't know what to tell you. Just, I really don't know. Lol

  • Don't bother me none.

Whenever they do get fixed, I'll have a stockpile of them for the next 2x BP event.

    No big deal honestly.

You probably were burned out of the game and returning to it was like a restart on your journey.

Pretty much as I played rather religiously back then. But between that and reviewing some of the changes they made overtime, I'm rather happy with most of it. Really looking forward to the graphic overhaul as well.

Again the feel of the overall experience has been solid. Still have some qwerks here and there, but it's been a much more pleasant experience overall.

  • I could be biased, but I still don't think NOED needs to change. As long as someone is doing totems (secondary objective) you can completely negate before it even comes into play. Just have someone run Small Game, or just learn totem spawn locations in general and you're usually all set.

That's really the counterplay, do totems, and now that we have that one perk come out with Nancy, people will most likely do totems more often now.

  • Ya as someone already mentioned, it can really help out newer players get use to how they leave scratch marks, how long they last, etc. While still being viable to more experienced Survivors.

It's definitely not super meta, but its far from complete trash. You can just have fun with it in any variety of builds and get some use from it for sure.

  • Killer Main: BBQ no doubt, not for the aura reading, but for the BPs. I play for Blood primarily over kills, it just suits my playstyle.

As Survivor: I try a variety of random fun builds. I prefer Small Game at the end of the day. Just better at seeking Dull/Hex Totems is fun and easy BPs.

  • @Snapshot @SunderMun Oh I agree with you guys 100%. Just saying we're probably going to see it a bit more often now that DBD is free currently is all.

The matchmaking system needs to be tweak or straight up overhauled to make matches more fair. I think upcoming on the road map they're doing something with the ranking system? Maybe it will help improve the matchmaking overall.

  • Match making is definitely wonky, but I think it’s more than that possibly.

DBD is free currently, maybe it’s not all instances, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some higher rank doing SWF with his/her friend trying out the game for free.

  • Heard people claiming that there would be one this weekend, but no official word.

I wouldn’t count on it honestly, for this weekend at least. There’s still time in the month if they decide to start up an event.

  • When the hotfix hits, by default, he can break pallets with his shred without the need for add on. It will definitely make him much more viable after this comes into effect.

  • Ya hopefully with the inclusion of Dedicated Servers, this issue won't be AS relevant.

Though I do wish some more stern measures would've been taken, as whenever I do play as survivor its really crippling to the team. As killer, you just miss out on so many potential Blood Points you could've milked from the DCing survivor(s).

The worst is when you pop a +X% Blood Point offering, that's the absolute worse.

I don't know...maybe they can bring in some safeguards? For example, if you have people DCing within the first 3 minutes of the trial, a prompt comes up asking if the remaining survivors and killer want to end the Trial early. Doing so would save all offerings (except for the dcer(s) obviously) and either no BPs are made or maybe 5k BP max for each remaining player from the Trial if everyone agrees to cancel the Trial.

    Something of the sort.

  • Must be all that Big D Energy

  • I've been hearing that in the next hotfix he'll be able to break pallets with shred by default.

I'm sure he'll be a little better whenever that happens.

  • All I can recommend honestly is not expect to 4k and/or win every match. Not saying that you do personally, what I'm getting at is the mentality, you'll drive yourself insane and just be stressed out.

This is just my play style, I'm sure I'm not the only one, but forget kills, just go for Blood Points. Don't worry about focusing on one survivor to get a kill (or tunneling as many refer to it as), if someone gets unhooked go for the unhooker, mix up targets, etc etc. MAXIMIZE your Blood Points and fun overall. I rarely get stressed in a match as I just don't really care for kills, I just want the Blood. Over time, you WILL improve and you WILL climb in rank, so what if it takes time...enjoy that time and happy hunting from a Killer Main!

  • I love the new Blood Web, just increases the overall probability that the perk you're looking for actually shows up.

I've been lucky to get two perks a Web, but even if I only get one of the four, I'm just glad to have more probability to find the perks I actually want first.

He can guard a gate with KI reading while being at another. See the blip pop up? Teleport.

Ah alright I wasn't aware. Keeping that in mind when I play him this weekend.

  • Demo has a cooldown after traveling to another portal if I'm right (haven't played him yet). There's an audio que when he travels, I just listen for that and when I do, usually means I have enough time to seal another portal. Been working so far.

  • @boxfresh

Objective category? Gen progression counts towards objective. One full gen, if completed by yourself, is 1250 BP (others correct me if I'm wrong).

Totems though, are for the Boldness Category. 1000 BP for Dull, 1500 for Hex.

So your overall score, in regards to just generators and cleansing totems, is actually split between two categories. You have your Blood Points, again it's just split up is all!

  • It would help/buff up the solo player experience a bit too. Join a lobby, adjust perks accordingly. Could make the pregame lobby chat have more use overall...just discussing who should bring what, etc. I guess you can still do that now...but it would be nice to have that visual representation. I'm a Killer Main, I really personally don't mind this...it would just really benefit the solo player primarily.

  • @Pandemic Sorry? I don't need your permission to post my opinion or to post if I disagree in any certain way that you see fit.

Clearly you feel, and in your opinion, the devs aren't performing to YOUR expectations. No doubt you aren't the only one who feels this way, but your approach and the way you handle counter arguments/criticism is childish. Like in one of the posts (which I've read all from the beginning) you flat out just say "Wrong"... Get over yourself.

My position? As I stated before, devs aren't meeting YOUR personal expectations and are just not doing good enough overall. In my FIRST post I've made in your thread, I clearly made my position.

    I. Disagree.

Can't take you seriously. So have fun rage posting, I'm all set.

    /Thread

  • @Pandemic I have, and my post/opinion still stands. Sorry if you don't like it, but we all have our opinions, maybe you just need to take a break? Clearly you're very upset over a game.

  • There's plenty of these changes/fixes we all want no doubt. But given the small team they have to work with, smaller back in the day since they released it, they're definitely doing work and have improved the game. I've been around since the beginning and it's vastly improved in my opinion.

Sure, I agree that they need to shift their priorities around...but the fact that we're still getting updates and patches, along with a road map, and hell DEDICATED SERVERS! The team is doing a "pretty good job" so far with what they got.

    Keep it going.

  • I play for BPs over kills 90% of the time. BBQ gives me more incentive to leave hooks and farm to maximize BPs.

God Tier perk for me at least.

  • Just think T1 Myers basically, but just zero TR even if he's close enough to touch you.

  • I'm just happy for something different sounding for a change. I've been wanting more variety in chase music honestly, but kinda hoping that they're not all tied to unique killers. Just have a generic pool of chase music randomly picked per chase.

  • I would like to just have more chase music in general...more variety for all the killers. Maybe not unique per killer, but a pool of music the "Entity" can pull from for each chase started in a trial.

  • Haven't been able to try this yet as I'm still grinding away at work. Sounds frustrating for sure, but I still like the idea of having a better chance of getting a perk I want now that you have 4 to choose from in a given Blood Web.

I feel it is still frustrating going through X amount of BWs looking for BBQ in the old BWs where as of now you have a higher probability of it spawning in less amount of BWs in comparison.

Again, have to try it for myself. Could be missing the point.

  • Same, never got into Stranger Things, though the Demogorgon looks alright. It's just going to be a dlc I buy just to have the new perks to use.

The last time I was actually excited for was Plague, not super viable but she was just fun and had interesting mechanics.

So ya, looking forward to the dlc for more perks to play with.

  • I mean, once I know someone has Dead Hard, it just becomes pretty meh. Just bait it, then swing. As someone has mentioned, most of the time it only works half of the time... Use it once to dodge or rush to a pallet, good job, second time I know you have it and just bait it.

Dead Hard has its uses, but far from what I consider to be OP personally. As for the talk about exhaustion add ons, I feel they're alright...it just adds more variety in builds to just have the option to counter exhaustion perks in general if that's your focus as Killer. I used these add ons, though not often, everyone has a certain playstyle...let them build around if if they choose to.

  • EGC is very enjoyable, I'm glad they added it. I play a bit of Survivor but I'm a Killer main at the end of the day so maybe I'm a bit biased as it does seem to favor Killer most of the time, in my experience.

Primarily no more Hatch Standoffs and no more dragging the game longer than it needs to. EGC just looks cool, adds tension, and just fits overall in the game. Glad its here and hope it stays.

  • I mean anything is possible. Look at Ghost Face, I remember the countless threads calling for his inclusion for DBD.

I do prefer original killers at the end of the day though, it's just more exciting to me and the dev team wouldn't be so limited to what they want to do with their own creation.

Pennywise in general is just a fun character. I wouldn't mind his inclusion, content is content.

  • Honestly I'm just glad to see a visual change in general, looks much better and fleshed out. Also having a weekly ritual now that we can work towards, completing dailies quickly and you're done for the day in terms of rituals. Definitely dig the introduction of weeklies and overall visuals...plus another way to earn shards??? Please and thank you!
