I know. I know. Damn those killers for trying to get a kill in ways given to them. Shame on them.
There is a difference between killing the Survivor or let them be slugged on the ground for 4 minutes before picking them up. The Killer player is just a dick at this point and I really hope that someone does not complain about teabagging when basically doing the same to Survivors (but even worse, since you are actively wasting someones time).

Pallets are finite, and even the devs appeared to have scaled back pallet stun check. That first week was great, very crispy pallet stuns, but now it's back to the fake hits and stuns happening.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565800#Comment_2565800
Some people live far from a server or a jurisdiction with poor or limited internet infrastructure, but it isn't fair that survivor players have to deal with fake hits. I don't know what the solution is, but there needs to be some middle ground. Playing on a laggy connection shouldn't be incentivized to gain a competitive advantage. It's easy to see why killer players use VPN or induce the conditions for a laggy connection.
Displaying the ping would be a good first step, but they need to implement more matchmaking user options. I would rather wait for a better-connected match experience than getting dumped against someone across the sea using a VPN for another continent. The devs have been discussing creating fairer matches; allow me to disabuse them; there is nothing fair about going against high latency killers.
This is not really a solution. You might be fine with higher queue times, but others might not.
Lets use Russia as an example, because I know for sure that there is no Server in Russia (BHVR uses Amazon Game Servers, those are not supported in Russia) and I also get matched with many Russians. My ping is usually 30-50, lets say the Russian Ping is 120. So the difference between myself and a Russian Killer is pretty big.
I might be willing to wait longer for a game to get a Killer who is closer to the Server. However, what should Russian players do? They have to wait until they have a full Russian Lobby. And they are not only waiting longer, but their quality of games will be lower - because then you have 120 Ping Survivors go against 120 Ping Killers. Which is even worse for the Survivors.

And having to deal with broken loops/structures. Pallet after pallet that people prethrow anymore sounds any better....? But just play better. Am I right ?
Damn those Survivors. Trying to survive. How dare they?
Those double standards again - Forum is full of posts complaining about teabagging, something which has 0 impact on any gameplay, but slugging someone until the last second to make sure they cannot play the game (neither this nor going into the next before they either die or get picked up in the last second) is absolute fine, because this evil Survivor decided to... loop.
-
Yeah, lets ruin the experience of someone who just played the game. Go for it!
-
Yep. Circle of Healing is the new "OP"-Perk nobody will use after a week. We always have one of those each Chapter, it is tradition.
-
Being Rank 1 did not mean anything after they changed the Rank Reset from Rank 1 to Rank 10 (or whatever it was) to Rank 1 to Rank 5. Everyone and their mother was Rank 1.
In the end, the new Grade-System only shows how much someone is playing. And this is alright. And the players who play more, get more. As it should be.
-
Best of Prey-->Not a fan of that one. Bloodlust is such a handholding mechanic (and I get it a lot in my games that Killers just bloodlust me lately, I dont know that happened). And reaching Tier 1 Bloodlust after only 10 seconds is way too fast IMO. Bloodlust 1 alone renders most unsafe Loops already useless, and those are the actual fair Loops.
Brutal Strength-->Current Brutal Strength is 20% on Tier 3 and not 30%. I dont really see what your idea is, do you want to buff the values for Tier 1 and Tier 2? Personally, I think 30% on Tier 3 would be alright.
Dying Light-->Really not sure on that one. The thing is, you are buffing various values which have their respective number for a reason. So I would be very careful with throwing in numbers like that, because you dont really know if it cannot be broken in combination with specific other Perks, when you min/max certain parameters. E.g. 10% on Recovery after a Hit (with 8 Stacks) with 8 Stacks of STBFL can be too fast. Or a Pallet Stun Reduction of 70% with Enduring 3 and 8 Stacks on Dying Light might be too quick as well.
Would need serious testing, especially if you consider that the Perk becomes stronger the more pressure the Killer gets (the longer the game goes on, the more does the advantage shift from Survivors to Killer).
Territorial Imperative-->No idea, really. I dont like the Movement Speed increase at all, but then again it is so specific that I dont think that many people would run the Perk.
Thanatophobia-->Please no. This would just result in 21% Action Speed Reduction without any way to get rid of it. Slowdown without a way of disabling it is just wrong in my opinion.
-
@RenRen said:
I still don't understand why they made hillbilly's overheat so much more noticeable then the other chainsaw guy who can literally down multiple people at the same chainsaw sprint.
Because Bubba cannot sprint across the Map with 230% Movement Speed.
The Overheat is justified, Billy had and still has the best mobility in the game and an fairly easy to use Instadown. It should be obvious that a Killer who is called "the most balanced Killer" by the Community in 2018 is not "the most balanced Killer" in 2020 when the game got much easier for Killer.
And I think, more people would play Billy if they would revert the changes to his animation and fix the size of his Chainsaw-Hitbox. It is massive, which is frustrating as Survivor, but also makes him crush into things far more often.
But the animations and the FOV are the main things. Second can be somewhat fixed with Shadowborn (at least my Billy-experience got better after using Shadowborn), but it is a Perk Slot for something which was not needed before.
-
Nobody knows, but as @Bwsted has said it is very lenient. And it has to be that way, because there are players who dont have a Server nearby and will never get a Server. And you cannot just make them not hit people anymore.
So the whole concept of Hit Validation is pretty failed if you cannot ensure that everyone has a good connection to a Server.
They really should display the Ping of the Killer in the Lobby, because the own Ping to the Server does not matter at all for the Survivor.

"Every Killer has been solid for years now"
If they were all solid tier lists would be heavy B and A tier sided already <--which they aren't. If they were all solid Trapper wouldn't be getting buffs, nor plague, nor pig. If they were all solid 90% of the games pre SBMM wouldn't be full of the same 3 killers over and over again. If they were all solid, most killers games would be 10 minutes plus, not 5. If they were all solid, they wouldn't all be running gen slow down perks to make up for their ######### pressure and non existent 1v4s.
Killers run Slowdown-Perks because it is the easiest way to play Killer.
And I said "for years" and "Plague onwards". That Trapper is not really good should be clear, but I also did not say "all Killers":

To be fair here, it has that part about resetting to tier 2 on the wiki, the in-game description just reads that it drains the power of evil within, which I guess, if you aren't familiar with the addon, could be confusing to people.
Fair enough, I only checked the Wiki. And IMO the wiki should include the actual description of the Add-On and not add parts to it in the description itself.
However, even if you only have the Part with "Considerably drains" in the text, it is highly unlikely that you will have enough stalk left to kill 4 Survivors and impossible that the Fragrant Tuft will help you with that. At least this would be the conclusion if we only look at the ingame text.
But in the end, it does not really matter anyway. This happens once and afterwards players know it. And it is not really a problem with the Achievement anyway.

What you’ve said is completely true, unfortunately.
A fun killer is released - survivors cry “op” “no counterplay” - killer gets nerfed to rot in D Tier - nothing you can do about it
I mean, aside from the most biased people, everyone should agree that Deathslinger needed some changes. If those were the right changes is a different thing, but he needed something.
-
IMO, Adept Killer is far easier to get now when you get reset back to Grade 20. I got all Adepts now, before I simply refused to do them, because they are artificially more difficult just because I was in Red Ranks.
So I dont really consider it really an issue.
But overall, it would be fine if they would be 4 Kills or 4 Sacrifices (even if that is not important anymore, since you cannot get an easy 4K with just using a Mori anymore).
-
Every Killer has been solid for years now. Except for Trickster maybe. But since Plague, every Killer released can be considered B-Tier at least (except for Trickster).
-
Sucks to be you I guess.
Everything in this game can be changed. Regardless if you paid money for it or not. They can completely change the game and it still does not matter if you or anyone else paid money for it.
And you actually agreed to that with the EULA.
-
- "Killing a Survivor drains the power of Evil Within III, resetting it to Evil Within II."
Erm... Yes, the Tombstone Piece has this part.
-
I mean, we can do what many Killers do in this situation and call the Devs killer-sided. Because you have to be pretty killer-sided to think that Tombstone Piece and Alchemist Ring are fine.
On a more serious note:
I did my Blight-Adept yesterday with Alchemist Ring and the Add-On is just bonkers. Does not matter if the Survivor managed to avoid up to 5 Rushes, I am back at them in a second. So no reward at all for playing smart and letting me use more Rushes.
And Blights seem to think like that as well, otherwise I cannot explain why there were so many Alchemist Ring-Blights right after the announcement that they will change Add-Ons for him.
And well, Tombstone Piece... It goes beyond my mind why an Add-On which lets you kill a Survivor instantly without much of a Setup (the Stalk is manageable with the Memorial, which is used combined with the Tombstone Piece) is still in the game.
So, yeah... Both should be nerfed. Maybe at some point in the future... (And Myers still needs some love)

I completely agree. Playing killer sometimes feels like trying to go through a divorce again. They should remove exhaustion perks, they give survivors free distance with no skill requirement.
Did you just create an account to write on the first "Nerf Survivors"-Thread without actually reading it?
@Topic:
I mean, going for Head Ons and Flashlights sounds like an alright game. At least the Survivors are searching for Killer/Survivor-Interactions. And those are the interactions the Killers want, dont they? Or would you prefer them sitting on a Gen all the time, getting out ASAP?
Some people clearly just want effortless 4Ks with the Survivors having no chance whatsoever... If they really want to get many Head Ons, Pallet Stuns and Flashlights in as possible, you will have a decently long game to kill them, because from your explanation it does not sound like they cared for Gens at all.
And if you now tell me that they were also lightning-fast on Gens, something does not add up.

She mod dodged all of the hatchets, they were all on her.
You cant disable perks unless youre modding
it was godmode I literally hit her
Yeah, ok, you are trolling. I give you that, you got me.
-
Only because you are not really good at Killer does not make the Survivors cheaters. To your points:
Dodging-->This is not a "mod" or "Cheat" or anything. You missed your hatchets or she dodged them. Normal gameplay.
Perk disabled-->Your Perk is a Hex-Perk. When the Totem is cleansed, the Perk is disabled, this is what happened. Normal gameplay.
Your so called "godmode"-->You swung at the pallet, she dropped it. The server registered her Pallet Drop before the hit. So the Hit got cancelled, it was not meant to hit. But since you get the information instantly, it looks like a Hit on your end. Normal gameplay.
So, in the end, you just ragequit and you gained the respective penalty. Which is good.
-
Grades have nothing to do with Matchmaking. So it does not really matter if they are Iridescent Grade or not.

There seems to be a DLC-exclusive cosmetic.
Personally, I think they should give her out for free. An original Survivor only-Chapter offers not that much gameplay, only the three Perks.
@Topic:
I am a completionist, so I will get her, bring her to P3-50 and all her Perks on every other Survivor. But I wont spend real money on the new Survivor, I dont really see spending 5 bucks or something like that for an original Survivor.

The players. Really, I have never seen a community which can be so butthurt about simple things. Seems like the game is really unfair when you dont get a 4K once in 5 games or get tunneled in one out of 10 games.

Well then mb,
but even then, being difficult doesn't mean weak.
Who define the game has to favors towards survivors, why does it "always should be"? survivors rule book?
Because it is quite clear that the side where 1 player plays against 4 players is harder. It would be very wrong if 1 player has it easier than the team of 4 players.
Otherwise Killer would be the side:
- which gets more BPs (way more)
- has more variety in gameplay
- has the more interesting gameplay
- is easier
There would be 0 reasons to play Survivor.

Definitely not mastering the 25 killers in the game right?
I even said that Killer is more difficult than Survivor. But this does not make it difficult overall.

They don't need to be extremely specific exact callouts with the killers exact coordinates.
Just something simple like "killers chasing me at shack" tells all 3 other survivors that they are completely safe to do gens and what direction the killer will come from if they break chase. Survivors were not meant to have this much information.
Every somewhat competent Survivor will know that they should sit on a Gen when not being chased. Being chased or going for an Unhook are the only two exceptions where a Survivor should not do a Gen.
Like, I dont need someone to tell me that I should do Gens.

Completely agree. This should be a K’s game , but in reality the survivors hold most of the power. They need to focus on small buffs to killer. For example with Bubba, by default his chainsaw run should be longer and hugging objects should be more lenient. Same with Billy, it shouldn’t take exact precision; there needs to be more leniency by default when playing K. Bottom line, playing K needs to be fun otherwise everyone will want to only play as survivor and the game slowly goes away
Killer is and always should be the more difficult role. There are easy to play Killers and hard to play Killers.
In general, playing Killer is easy. The whole game is easy. But some people want to pretend that being good at Killer means that you are a 170 IQ-Gigabrain.
-
Why would someone equip a Perk which only works when you get killed via a Mori? This is so situational, there is no point in using such a Perk.
You would need to:
- Play against a Killer with a Mori
- Have blessed a Totem before (or someone else)
- Be in range of this Totem
And also hope that the Killer does not snuff it out before.

Yeah, lets go for the worst case-scenario, very realistic.
Let alone that built to last is very bad with Toolboxes (and not good in general).
-
Imagine making a fuss about Boon Totems and nobody plays them a week after release.
Cannot be happening, impossible!

So an investment of 16k BPs to remove 27 seconds of a Gen at best.
Toolboxes are OP. /s

Probably Swf one who revealed how easy it is when u have advantages over SoloQ.
None would complain if there were no differences between Swf and SoloQ. And if u are from suicide/potatoes squad it doesn't change there are more than enough good players.
There will always be differences between SWF and Solos. And BHVR will not change it, the change to Small Game is the best sign for that. A Totem Counter was asked for for years and they tie it to a mediocre Perk...
And 4 solid Solos are almost as good as an SWF. You dont need communication to make good plays, some players know when they should go for the safe or when they should stay on a Gen. And IMO the only real thing, why Survivors prefer SWF (with comms and without) is to minimize the impact of Potato Survivors.
Like, I can run Kindred and still have multiple Survivors going for my Unhook, even if at least one Survivor should see that another person is faster than them. This is nothing you can change with Information, since all the information are already there.
I usually play 2 man SWF with a friend of mine. Sometimes we play with 3, when a friend of him (Streamer) wants to join. But said Streamer is not on Comms with us, still he is way better than average Solo Survivors. Because he does not need those information to play well.
-
Neither, because both ideas are bad.
There are A LOT more casual SWFs than Depip-Squads. But we all know that Killers need something to blame for, so they blame SWF. I wonder which big streamer started this trend...
-
While I also had no problem with old Ruin, I hope it will never come back. There should be no effortless Slowdown for Killers.

Iri stone auto reset any closed trap once every 30sec. So each of them of difference
Oily Coil is the Add-On which reveals the Survivors Aura who disarmed the Trap.

She moves slower than survivors. You can outrun a nurse that doesn't blink. She needs her blinks to do any damage. Most blinks are bugged to hell and you never go even where flannel tells you either
This is wrong from my experience. Since they changed Plaid Flannel to a common Add-On, the target location is very accurate.
@Topic:
Nurse does not need any Add-Ons, so I dont see anything wrong with dedicating a Slot to Plaid Flannel. If you dont want to do that, because you want to use Double Recharge or whatever, you have to make sacrifices. (I highly doubt you want are asking it because you have a fear of running out of Plaid Flannels)
Personally, I think the Add-On is not even that good, it is very distracting. And players should not get used to it anyway, it is a training wheels Add-On, so this should be used for a short time and thats it.
-
Not tested it (someone will do when the changes go live), but I doubt it will work. The wording for Oily Coil is "resetting", which seems to be the manual action to reset a disarmed/used Beartrap.

I said every other game, also dont try to invalidate my point with evidence you dont even have, you have 0 idea how good i am or bad I am at nurse so stop projecting false points onto me. with her base speed her entire kit relies on her teleportation and once she teleports she cant magically change that, survivors have fair mindgame counterplay to this, it just requires them to actually be good at mindgames like all killers have to in order to get hits at loops.
Obviously her base speed would be buffed. But there should not be a Killer with less Speed than a Survivor with an imbalanced power to compensate for it.
And the Devs know how strong she is. But not many players play her, because you dont need to play Nurse anymore to get constant wins. Even if she is not THAT hard to learn (still the hardest Killer to learn, by far), you can just bring up a fraction of that time and play Spirit and do fine. (Even after the Nerf)

Survivor BP-gain is really bad. Like laughable bad. So BP-Events are a big chance to gain more BPs as Survivor.
And I dont really want to get paired with too many No Mithers during those.
-
Oh another "Nerf Survivors"-Thread which is disguised as a "Make DBD scarier again".
No game will become scary, you can play the best Horrorgame or watch the most scary Horror Movie multiple times and it stops being scary. Same with DBD, even if you manage to bring the "new player"-feeling back. Give it a few dozen of hours and players would not feel scared again.
-
" I play nurse plenty and still have 3-4 survivors every other match escape!"
Only because YOU are bad with Nurse does not mean that she is fine. She is the most broken Character in the game and should not exist with her current Kit. And she would not be released nowadays like that, Nurse is from a time where many very busted things were in the game, however, Nurse is allowed to stay.
Probably only because of the backlash.

Why do people ask these questions? You literally can't know if you have a high mmr or not.
Rule of thumb: If the Killer lost, they were at high MMR.
At least this is what I get when I read how many players are at high MMR or how many Streamers have something like "Top MMR EU" in their title.
(Obviously not everyone who claims to be at high MMR is actually at high MMR...)

And in the end, every Killer can do something against thrown Pallets (and they already do, at least the strong ones...AMN most likely can replace unsafe Pallets, at best).
And nah, you dont need to think about Deliverance. What do you want to do? Camp everyone who might have unhooked someone before? This is not really an option, except if you want to lose the game if the other 3 Survivors are mildly competent.

You should probably play more hours then, its still an SWF staple build. And it would still delete a killers power. Its like having a perk that automatically removes pig head traps at the press of a button......just no....
4 No Mithers is an SWF-staple build? Please, dont joke too much. I thought all those evil SWFs only use Meta-Perks... Guess it is one way or another, whatever fits.
Even IF an Oni will go against 4 Mithers (which will almost never happen), he would have 4 Oneshots against him. Not too bad. But not dropping Bloodorbs would at least mean that a team might not lose instantly against an Oni, who gets constant Bloodorbs without any problem.

I don't think its a good idea to ever give survivors perks that can completely delete a killers ability to use their power.
It will never happen that 4 No Mithers play against an Oni. I have seen 4 No Mithers exactly once in 6500 hours of playtime, against my Demo. And it was a 4 man David-SWF who just memed around.
