It's not fair at all, you got extremely bad RNG. Best thing you can do is fill a bug report or something because I am pretty sure this is not supposed to happen.

*good RNG since the Map spawned with the minimum amount of Pallets.

  • 0.

I dont really count Corrupt Intervention as Gen Regression, since it does not regress Gens. But I run Corrupt on every Killer except for Billy and Pig.

And I dont really like them, I prefer to win games with Chases. Faster Chases with Chase Perks and getting into Chases faster with Tracking Perks. I would probably win more games when I would run a few Slowdown-Perks, but eh. Its a game, I dont take it seriously.

  • Then dont play sweaty.

You are deciding that you want to play that way. It is completely up to you how you play.

  • @slendermansmoom said:

trust me don't get the mask unless you want to be tunneled and camped every game. killers think the mask means the player is really good and toxic and try to tunnel them to avoid getting looped forever.

Tunneling someone to not get looped sounds like a big brain play.

    @Topic:

Yeah, it absolutely should. IMO at the point where Deathgarden became free on Steam the Mask should have given out to everyone. Before you at least had to pay for Deathgarden to get the Mask, but since it was free, players on Steam could just add Deathgarden into their library to get the Masks for Meg and Trapper. I dont know if this is still possible, but at this point it did not make any sense at all to exclude Console Players.

which is kind of dumb. in 1200+ hours i've gotten a killer twice in a row once. Everyone else quit and he killed me both times and said he didn't realize. Who the hell keeps track?

It does not have to be in the row. Can be over a longer period of time, but basically if they do this every game.

E.g. I had a small Streamer who apparently did not like me. I dont even know why, I watched a VOD and he said I turned up in his Chat after dying to him and insulted him, which is not true so either he lied or he thought of a different person. But this happened to a time before Dedicated Servers were a thing so it was more likely that players from around the same region where matched together AND it was possible to switch Killers in Lobby.

So everytime I was in his Lobby said Streamer would switch to Nurse with a Mori and just tunnel me out of the game. I dont really care about that, it is just one game which was not enjoyable, but this would have been something that could be reported, because it happened every time I went against this Streamer, even if it was not in a row. (They also killed everyone else, but they always went for me and made sure I am the first one dead)

  • You are right, it is not an Anti-Tunnel Perk - because it does a bad job at this. It should really punish tunnelers. Whenever I get to use my DS, it is because I get tunneled. This was even the case before the most recent Nerf, since I did not use it hyper-aggressive.

However, against most Killers, it does nothing, they just follow you and if you got tunneled after your first Hook and used DS, you will just be tunneled after the second Hook and die. It needs to be buffed in its Anti-Tunneling aspect to be actually called an "Anti-Tunnel Perk".

Regarding your scenario - really, it is whatever. Yes, you can hook another Survivor and the person unhooked before still has DS. But I dont think it feels unfair, because at least you know that this Survivor did nothing to progress the game. And I am not upset if I get stunned by DS when I know that the Survivor spent 40+ seconds doing nothing.

Delete everything that has no sense lol. A map where some killers cant use their power ?

Why not a map where survivors can't escape ? Or a map without gen ?

I bet with that "logic" we can remove every Map in the game.

  • @Mooks said:

People like to forget old Nurse, BNPs, Syringes, SelfCare, actual Infinites etc.

there was so much broken stuff in the game. Not even talking about the many QoL changes. Just think about Hatch standoff. (Which could actually be funny but generally were just bad)

the Game changed for the better. It’s not perfect by any means and there are blatant problems that need to be adressed. But they actually do that, just very slowly (see Hatch/key changes in current PTB)

    ^ this.

I want to see those people why cry about getting "genrushed" (mostly because of their own fault) play against original BNPs when a few Gens REALLY are instantly done and not "instantly done" after chasing a Survivor for 1 1/2 minutes.

  • Basically every M1-Killer. Enduring is a decent Perk, but it is easier to stack your build with Slowdown-Perks, so nobody runs it anymore.

But you can use it on M1-Killers, I use it on Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Bubba, Pig and Legion (on Legion it has the benefit that a Survivor stunning you out of Frenzy is much shorter with Enduring than the regular Cooldown).

Tbh I'm not sure it's working as intended, but I'm probably wrong and I fail in trading comprehension. When I tried it, I was expecting to get the free injure, but then it wouldn't do anything else. I was actually surprised that chains bounded injured survivors.

Back on topic, this kind of power-creep builds usually don't last very long (see Trickster's death throes etc.)

I also fail to see how a build that nets wins against everything but depip squads could be considered the model of balance to aspire to.

I think it is supposed to work like that. The Add-On mentions healthy Survivors and later a "them" indicating that the effect applies to those Survivors.

I also think it would be kinda weak if you would not spawn additional Chains on Injured Survivors, it would be like Legion - a very easy first Hit/Injure and after that no real use for your power.

    @remoirel said:

so you're regularly getting 4ks with this build and don't see a problem with that?

imo franklins/horder working on his power is a big oversight considering he's already annoying enough with double configuration solving add ons

Could be possible that this was an oversight.

  • You can run Pinhead without Ruin/Undying. I run BBQ and Corrupt Intervention instead and also 3K or 4K every game (and, unlike said streamer - without using Engineers Fang..).

And well, I highly doubt it should be possible to win basically every game with a certain build or Killer. This will just result in said build getting nerfed (you can expect Engineers Fang to be nerfed anyway, no way the Devs keep this Add-On like it is).

Was it groaning storehouse? I don't want to open a zip file. I do tend to see double pallets on groaning a lot, but only when I'm playing killer of course :^)

    Yep, Storehouse.

    @Topic:

Groaning Storehouse is probably the Map with the most common Double Pallet-Spawns. This means that the Maze-Tiles on the Map were mostly T/L-Walls.

  • Because they get tilted. It is YOUR fault that they are having a bad game right now, stop being so god. Cannot be their fault for following you for a long period of time. So you need to be punished - when they catch you.

Also had a Nurse at some point who chased me for 3 1/2 Gens, ignoring players right next to her on Gens. When Gen Number 4 was finished, she DCed. And probably opened a Thread in this Forum afterwards.

  • Yeah, I am a completionist. So I will save 1 Million BPs, 3 Dailies and use my leftover Tome Challenges to get her to P3 as fast as possible.

  • Just play normally, but dont tunnel or camp at this point. You basically won the game when someone DCs early, so you can play a little bit chill so that everyone (including yourself) gets some BPs. Not really farming, but go for 3 Hooks on each Survivor so that there is more interaction.

  • Why should they? Why dont Killers try new Builds? Why do they have to stack Slowdown-Perks when you can play without them?

I am running Meta, because I did everything else. I did random Perks, No Mither, "not so strong"-Perks... But I came to the point that it does not matter, Killers dont appreciate it when Survivors go off-meta, so no reason to make myself weaker (got even called a Tryhard for using No Mither...).

And well, overall, there are not that many good Survivor-Perks overall...

Trying to enjoy a game with a couple friends and bots is all I'm suggesting. Guess having a dialogue is not possible if that's how you feel.

I mean, with friends is a different thing. This is what KYF for and I guess it would be alright to fill the remaining spots with Bots in this mode.

But I dont really see a Solo-Mode for DBD which is completely with Bots and only one human player.

  • Hillbilly is fun to play. However, I have to use Shadowborn on him, this helped me a lot, I had huge troubles with his changed FoV and changed animations, but Shadowborn helps with it.

But you can be sure that the first Map I get will be Hawkins all the time. As Add-Ons (I actually use them now...), I use Engravings and the brown Muffler to do a little bit against the Overheat, but luckily this will probably not be necessary anymore after the Midchapter-Patch when they buff Engravings.

  • The only place where Bots would be justified would be in KYF, without any compensation so that players can try out new Killers or new Perks and explore new/reworked Maps. If nto with Bots, then just a Solo-Mode for testing (e.g. unlimited power for Killers, which need Survivors to charge it up like Oni).

Other than that, I hope I dont ever see any Bots in regular games. And IMO, if you dont want to play with other players, a Multiplayer Onlinegame is the wrong place to be.

  • Because of the SBMM which is working in the Background for Matchmaking. Each of your Killers has a specific Rating to them, so the game is searching for Survivors at around that level.

If you would be able to switch, you could queue up with your weakest Killer and switch to your strongest Killer once a Lobby was found to have an easy game.

  • I mean, it would be great if they could bring Jason to DBD (as long as they can give him an interesting power). But even if this might become possible, I think you cannot really expect it to be happening anytime soon.

If I remember correctly, they work like 1 year in advance, so even if they would start on Jason right now, they would not be ready until the Winter Chapter in 2022. And given it is Jason, they probably will try to make it the Anniversary Chapter to get the maximum spotlight, which would mean that June 2023 is the earliest.

  • You wont get more dynamic with that. It would just be the case that Survivors would cleanse the Hex and bless another Totem. Also, there is the possibility that the Survivors cannot use Boon-Perks at all if the Killer is using 4 Hexes (until they cleansed Haunted Grounds, which frees one Totem). And if No Mither will not stop Bloodorbs, because there is the possibility of 0,0000001% that 4 Survivors use No Mither and deny Oni his power (and this is one of the reasons why this change will never happen), something that prevents Survivor Perks from being used (aka 4 Hexes on the Killers Side which is probably not that much more likely) will also not be implemented.

But as I said, even if they do it, there is no dynamik at all. Just more M1-Pressing from the Survivor.

  • I prefer Survivor, but apparently I play more Killer lately. Iri 2 at Killer and Gold 3 at Survivor shows that I am playing more Killer.

  • I would have created a Whistle as Lullaby instead of increasing his Terror Radius. Same effect like increasing TR, but cooler.

  • It was not ready in time. And they are thinking and waiting for Feedback if it really should be implemented.

Personally, I did not notice any difference when playing Spirit. Yes, the Survivors had an idea where I was. But I moved so fast while phasing, it did not really matter. That being said, not sure if the Dust-effect will do anything then, because it would still mean the Survivors know where you are, but you are so fast...

Then again, I only tested it on the PTB which is without actual Matchmaking.

  • I am against it. HOWEVER, they need to rethink the concept of Charms. Which means - less Charms (far less Charms), but better ones.

IMO Charms like the Pride-Charm, the Rift-End and Tome Level-End-Charms, seasonal Charms (like Dwightcrow) and those Dolls you can find in the Rift are alright. But the rest is just rubbish. Seriously, nobody needs the same Charm 5 times with an Add-On or Perk Symbol on it, nobody will use them. And the Rifts are stuffed with those.

So I would reduce the number of Charms drastically so that they are more special. E.g. I only use the Pride-Charm and the latest Rift- and Tome Level 4-Charms. Simply because those have the coolest designs (and to show support, obviously). And I have not seen many different Charms on Hooks. Sometimes I even see the first Charms, which indicates that the player does not care for them at all.

So, I would boil it down to:

    • Rift Tier 70-Charm
    • Tome Levels-Charms
    • Seasonal Charms
    • Character Dolls (can be in the Rift, I would just put those into the free Track)
    • Special Occasions (e.g. Anniversary, DLCs, Pride, etc.)

Those would still be more than enough Charms (probably still too many), but they would not be meaningless copy&paste-Stuff which nobody will ever use anyway.

The spots which are now empty in the Rift should be filled with mystery Boxes - they contain Add-Ons (for Killers), Items (for Survivors)... Can be a random Item for the Survivor you just played/have selected when reaching a new Tier or who is featured in the Tome. For Killers, it is one of the Tome-Killers, can be anything from brown to Iri. Also, some BPs and small amount of Iri Shards can be in those Boxes (I would also suggest Boosters, but this is an idea I never have written done and I need to do that at some point).

Of course it would still not be amazing to get a brown Medkit or a common Add-On, but it would at least not be worse than getting a Charm with a Leaf on it which you would not use anyway.

    tl;dr:

Make less Charms, but make them better so that they are more special. Alternatives to fill the now empty Spots in the Rift would be Items, Add-Ons, BPs and Iri Shards.

  • I dont want to be mean, but if 20 Flashlight Saves worked against you in 7 games, the problems are not the Flashlights... Nowadays it is usually a miracle if two happen in one game.

  • Sounds like the classical Solo-Queue experience.

  • You wont get a Refund. Dont know how you can seriously have the idea to get a Refund, especially for a "product" (aka Killer) which you used for around 1 1/2 years already.

Oh yes. "Just get over it" Instead of coming together to push for it to be changed in some way. Because no one ######### likes the map.

It is completely wrong to say that nobody likes the Map. I dont like it either, but I just accept that there are things in this game I dont like. I can also open 33 Forum Threads about it, but I wont do that. If I play on RPD (which is a rare occasion), I just play it. And next game, I will have another Map.

However, there were players who said they loved this Map. So saying nobody likes it is as wrong as it can be.

But it shows the mentality.. "Push it to be changed", this is happening a lot in this Forum. Mass-complaints about one thing until it gets changed and then off to the next thing to push...

  • Hopefully.

The crying is way out of proportion, it is one map, but instead of just sucking it up when someone plays on a Map they dont like, they rush to the Forums to complain, because they played 1 game out of 30 or whatever on a Map they dont like.

  • They obviously wont Killswitch functional Maps just because you dont like it. Should be clear.

Which Daily was worse: the old Nemesis one or the old Pig one where you had to kill someone with the trap?

Nemesis is fine I feel, apart from zombies getting stuck in random places very, very often. For example on Midwhich by one of the exit gates with the drop, there is always one zombie that gets stuck on a ledge / pipe.

Yeah, I would say the same. Nemesis is fine, but the Zombie-AI needs some Tuning. They can be pretty annoying as Survivor, but it should not happen that a Zombie spawns and gets stuck on the Rock for the next minute.

Can you tell me what they were? I only know the 4.0 tier 3 speed but that's it.

    The Nemesis Update:

    • Movement speed while charging Tentacle Strike Tier 3 increased to 4.0m/s (was 3.8m/s)
    • Shattered S.T.A.R.S. Badge effect duration increased to 60 seconds (was 30 seconds)
    • Iridescent Umbrella Badge effect duration increased to 30 seconds (was 15 seconds, but was erroneously displayed as 12 seconds)
    • Ritual of The Nemesis reduced to reaching maximum Mutation Rate one time (was 4)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/294

  • Nemesis received some Changes in the last Chapter tho (when Pinhead was released).

  • Surge is already decent. I wish for the Basic Attack-Requirement to be removed, this would make the Perk more attractive.

Other than that, it is alright.

  • Killers complain about Survivors running the same Perks (mostly Second Chance-Perks).

BHVR might have created Perks which might be decend and might be used (I believe this when I see it).

And Killers are not happy, despite the possibility that there will be less Second Chance-Perks. Shows once again, Killers dont want Survivors to have strong Perks.

  • Tinkerer needs a Nerf. Ruin/Undying itself is alright, Tinkerer is (and even was before the Undying-Nerf) the problematic Perk of the Combo.

  • People are still coming up with Ingame Comms? There have been multiple Threads about it already and there have been multiple reasons why it is a bad idea.

    Toxicity:

DBD does not have the nicest community, so there will be a lot of slurs thrown around. Obviously, you would be able to disable Voice Chat, but why should you put yourself at disadvantage at this point? If the game is balanced around Voice Chat, players who disable it are at a disadvantage. And this would also be the case for basically every Streamer - you cannot just risk being in Voice Chat with random people who might shoult a slur, which will be heard in your Stream and might get you banned on Twitch.

So either you have to hope and endure other people speaking in your Stream (which most likely will cost Viewers) or disable Voice Chat, which means that you will lose more games, aka the advertisement for the game is worse than it is now.

    Language Barriers:

Not everyone speaks English. And not everyone wants to speak English. So there is a problem with languages. And well - if I play Solo and a 3man SWF from Italy joins me, why should they speak English? Why should they even use the Ingame Comms? I would be at disadvantage.

    Immersion:

Not everyone wants to play with others. Others just want to have an immersive experience without talking to anyone. You have to keep those in mind as well. Again - they can disable Voice Chat... But to lose basically all the time?

  • 1 Gen done? Means exactly nothing. Especially if it is done so fast, this means that 3 Survivors spawned on a Gen, which is actually good and will most likely mean that it will take some time until a larger amount of Gens is done.

It’s an objectively terrible change. People weren’t asking for recovery add-ons to be nerfed, they were asking for other add-ons to be buffed.

His most viable add-on combination was nerfed. Yes, you can now use any combination of useless add-ons and have your power up slightly faster, but that is not a buff, nor is it a positive change, because the add-ons in question are essentially…useless. The only viable one is an iridescent so you can’t even use it consistently.

But his Base Recovery Speed was buffed. This is the reason why the Add-Ons got nerfed, because he is less reliant on them now. And this was asked before that the Base Recovery should be buffed.

  • Out of everything you complain about...Ghostface? Which was asked for so long? That the Recovery Time is reduced? That the Add-Ons are nerfed at the same time is just logical.

Before, if you used the green and yellow Add-On you had 16 seconds of Recovery (30-8-6). Now you have 17 with green and yellow Add-On (24-4-3). Hard Nerf. /s

If you use the yellow and brown Add-On, it is actually better. Before 20 seconds (30-6-4), now 19 seconds (24-3-2).

Now at least you can think about using something else than Recovery and only use 1 Recovery Add-On or even none.

Yeah, that is why I always pretend I am not wearing lightborn. They are really easy to trick. The last thing I want is for them to stop trying to flashlight save. Lol.

Sadly Lightborn is now shown to the Survivor. Before I used Lightborn just because it was funny that they still tried to blind me, despite it not working 3 times before.

  • 4 Flashlights are usually a win IMO. They try to go for saves the whole time instead of being productive. So I take 4 Flashlights anytime, even without Lightborn.

  • @Thrax said:

no. pallets are already screwed. fix matchmaking so it don't happen

What does Matchmaking have to do with it?

    @Topic:

Sadly this will probably not be possible. Not every region has Dedicated Servers, so there will always be players with high Ping and they cannot be excluded from the game. If you would do something that the person with the lower Ping always wins (as an example), every player from Russia (Russia does not have any Dedicated Servers) will not get any hit in anymore. For something they cannot do anything about.

So unless BHVR is able to offer basically everyone a Server nearby, Hit Validation has to be generous.

Regarding the video you posted - I guess this would happen even with a perfect Hit Validation, since this was a player losing connection for some time.

  • Bannable, if done too often.

  • DS/UB is really not a problem.

First you could go for another Survivor all the time, this was the thing before the most recent DS-Nerf.

Second, even if it happens that you find the Survivor again, down them and still get stunned with DS, you at least know that this Survivor did nothing the whole time.

  • Topknot will be gone. Also, I would expect some changes to his lesser used Add-Ons like passive Recharge.

1 … 156 157 158 159 160 … 341
