Normally isnt. People want bloodlust removed because "its rewarding the killer for losing the chase" when in reality blood lusting will probably lose you the game.
Not with that much Slowdown-Perks in the game.
If you can remove 32 seconds of Progress with a single Hook (Pain Resonance + PGTW), you can afford way longer chases. I am using Slowdown-Perks since a few days (did not run them for years), and the game feels so easy now, it is insane.
@Topic:
Oh, cool, a Dead Hard-Thread! Finally someone opens it.
But I hope that Killers realize that if DH gets nerfed and if it is really true that Survivors only survive that long because of DH, that other things on the Killers Side basically have to be nuked if that is really the case. Like Bloodlust and Slowdown-Perks. Because if the Chasetime really is reduced that much due to DH (I doubt it), other things need to be rebalanced. But if this is the case, I already know that the "The Devs only cater to Survivors"-people will come out.
And I really hope that nobody complains about Sprint Burst once DH is nerfed and the good Survivors (who are the only ones where DH is really problematic, bad Survivors with DH are no problem) switched to Sprint Burst and showing the Killers that it is actually even stronger than DH and even more unfun to go against.

Don’t do Ash like that lmao he’s cool. Much cooler than most of the roster
I dont really think that many people actually care that much about Ash. I have seen and still see the Stranger Things-Characters way more often than Ash in my Lobbies.
And the Ash vs. Evil Dead-DLC is a Survivor-only DLC, while Stranger Things brought Demo as well. AND better Perks.
-
Because, this is how the game was designed?
And it is not entirely true either, if you are the last Survivor alive and you have never been hooked, you will get sacrificed immediatly.
Or do you mean the visual glitch which is currently happening? Sometimes you see only one Hook-Stage on the Survivor, even if they have been hooked twice.

Because people want to see the game die
Yeah, most likely.
It is just strange to think that other asymmetrical Horrorgames will not have balance issues or things like that.
-
Pointless, because the system itself is flawed and does not work.
Sorry, nobody can convince me otherwise when I die 9 out of 10 games on one day and go against the Blight with the most Rush Downs on the next day. This just does not add up. Either the whole system is not working or the Ranges are so big that it is basically no Matchmaking.
Today it could have been Rank-based Matchmaking, really awful teammates.
-
Why do people always think that new asymmetrical games will not face the same challenges and problems which DBD already faces?
And well, after watching a bit of Evil Dead-Content (I did not play it myself), it does not really look like a game which will replace DBD. At least not a game I am interested in.

No we've have enough nerfs to killers. Aren't y'all tired of Blight, nurse & spirit yet?
Take all of them over Legion.
At least games against those three are not 20 minute+-Snoozefests. And I actually get into chases as Survivor. Against Legion, they just hit me and sprint away, I can press M1 to mend and thats about it what I get for Killer Interaction until the point where I am somewhere were Pallets were already used and just go down without defense. Yay.
-
Yeah, in some videos of tru3, mostly as teammate, sometimes against him when he was playing Killer. I had him only one time in my Killer Lobby, but the match got cancelled in the Loading Screen for some reason.
Also appeared in Streams of Otz, Dowsey and other content creators.
I dont really feel anything, it just happens. BUT it became really rare since Dedicated Servers went live, since so many Russians are now in the same Matchmaking Pool, it is very rare to go against players from the UK or my country, let alone Streamers or Content Creators.
-
Hag or Freddy. One of those.
Hag is just boring because you cannot chase. If the Survivor steps into a Trap, you get a hit. If not, you wont get a hit.
And Freddy is just Skill Floor = Skill Ceiling. If you play one Freddy-game, you basically know everything what he can do. No depth at all.

Why is it fine that The Onryo is this weak? Nobody plays her anymore because of how underpowered she is. Idk why that's a good thing.
Yes, I think it is fine if a Killer that easy is not S- or A-Tier.
You will still win against the majority of Survivors with her.
-
None of the Killers released the last year was really weak. Sadako was probably the weakest of them, however, I think this is fine - she is very easy to use, so it is ok that she is not as strong as other Killers.
If you want to quit Killer - please do so. You dont need to open another Thread if you quit, nobody really cares anyway.

Dead Hard wasnt that great when the Killer was the host of the match or it wasnt validated by the server, Exhausted on the ground wasnt just a meme, was a reality and it happened around half the times you used the perk to dodge a hit.
Also what Chewy said, the game had worse things.
When the Killer was the Host, Dead Hard was the same it is today.
I think that many complaints come from Killer Mains who just got used of non-functioning Dead Hards where the Survivor pressed it in time, but ended up Exhausted on the ground.
Current DH is not really different from pre-Dedicated Servers-DH.

Yeah because that's legions power they aren't super lethal but they prolong the game to have more time to kill with that. That's why Billy or bubba don't have a build in slowdown because they are lethal
Yeah. And their power is just garbage. It should have never left QA. Yet, the released this mess, nerfed this mess and buffed this mess again. And the best thing? Legion is as annoying and as weak as always.

No more fun than M1ing on gens for the entire game. It just dont bother me, as someone who plays survivor a lot. Maybe I am just burnt out though 😅
@Sepex said:
For the record the entire game is m1 holding. Most survivors spend on average spend over 100 seconds m1'ing gens alone per match.
So I see no problem with mending a few times.
The big difference: Holding M1 on a Gen actually progresses the Game. Holding M1 while Mending just prolongs it.
-
It is not a Bug. You make the sound like a missed Skill Check, but the Killer will not get a notification of it. (But they will hear it if they are close)
-
Which Perk is "Endurance"?
-
@Sepex said:
It's a shame they'll never tell us the concept they had for Early Game Collapse despite it being scrapped.
The idea probably was heavily flawed if they scrapped it.
@Topic:
Well, the difference is that the Grind Overhaul is not related to the Trials. So they can change everything about the grind, but the actual matches will not be really different. (Maybe there will be less games where people have to play Perks they dont want to play or stuff like that, but thats about it)
However, the early game-thingy is a pain in the butt to balance. Because you have Killers like Blight and Nurse on the one side of the Spectrum and Trapper and Clown on the other side. Something which only benefits Nurse or Blight a bit, would not help the lower Tier Killers. And something which really benefits the lower Tier Killers might be overkill on the strong Killers.

@AetherBytes said:
Its a memento addon. It doesn't need to be viable.
That said, run it with stbfl. 2 tokens if they were trapped healthy.
^ this.
Sometimes I use Padded Jaws and Honing Stone, so that I can get 2 Stacks from 3 Survivors and grab out the Obsession. This works quite ok now with Trapper having more than one Trap.
-
Obviously you have seen the threads where people complain. Why did you not just read them and start a new thread instead?
For me, Legion-games are super-boring because they take far too long. I would rather get crushed by a god Nurse or a Alchemist Ring/Blighted Crow-Blight in 3 minutes than playing a Legion-game which lasts 10 times longer.
Really, a lot for Survivors to do is holding M1. This is fine, this is how the game is designed. However, mending adds more M1, but it does not progress the game. And it also is not really a fun chase, since a Legion in frenzy will get a Hit in and then runs away, so the only thing you can do is wait until you are out of their TR and mend.
Then there are other Slowdown-Perks - Thanatophobia alone increases Gens from 80 seconds to 96 seconds. Add in Pain Resonance and PGTW and Gens take forever as well.
And at some point, ressources are just gone, which makes it also pretty easy for Legion to get Downs.
But the main point is really that Legion-games just take painfully long. This is nothing new, this has always been the case. They are a terrible designed Killer which should have never left QA, but still we are stuck with this mess. And it is not even that they are a really strong Killer, Legion is B-Tier at best...
-
If you want FOV, go for Shadowborn. But even if you want FOV, some Killers would still work better with M&A (e.g. pig with Whispers or Hag).
Personally, I would not recommend using Shadowborn. I play it on Nurse, Blight and Billy and I cannot take it off those Killers. Especially Nurse feels really weird without Shadowborn once you get used to her.

It just pisses me off that everything we ask for in this game is pretty much already in mobile or it's in progress meanwhile people who actually pay for the game get the shaft here, it's like "Oh you want these changes? Well we changed everything else that didn't need it and then nerfed clown" it's just that kind of stuff that makes me throw my hands up and not care anymore
While I understand this, it is entirely possible that Netease has a very exclusive contract with BHVR.
I know this from World of Tanks - the gameplay on the Chinese Server is the same like on all the other Servers, but in exchange for historical information, the Chinese Server is run by a different company and has a different system for monetization. E.g. one of the most OP Tank is still in the game over there (and buyable via real life money). Also other exclusive stuff which was never been able to balance properly for every Server - except for the Chinese Server, where nobody cares if it is Pay to Win.
And since Netease is a Chinese Company, I assume that they have some form of special contract with BHVR, which results in exclusive stuff like Cosmetics which might stay Mobile-exclusive and unique Mori-Animations.
-
Looks pretty goofy to me. And the movement does not really fit Trapper at all.
And IMO, nobody should compare the Mobile Version with the "actual" DBD. Especially not if something is done for the Asian market, often enough you can treat those games as different games, even if they are both called Dead by Daylight.
-
I was about to facepalm myself, not expecting this.

?????? Survivors have been continually nerfed over time and killer has never been easier outside of CoH. Were you not around for old DS, old MoM, pre-rework maps and instaheals?
^ this.
Before CoH you can easily say the game was the easiest it has ever been for KIllers. And even after the release of CoH, it is not really hard.
@Topic:
The Devs dont need to play Killer at a medium level. Sometimes I question if Killer Mains on the Forum even play on a Medium Level when I read some complaints.
And well, thanks to one Dev who likes to play it, there will probably never be any changes to NOED. So, there is something good (for Killers) that the Devs are not Pros at their game. (But they also dont need to be... They have more knowledge of game design than every Forum Warrior, all people in this thread included).

Certain killers are slightly slower to compensate for their ability. Huntress, Deathslinger, Trickster, etc.
Why is it we can't make certain killers slightly faster to compensate for their lack of ability?
Because every Killer has the ability to chase a Survivor and injure them while using M1. And this is taken into account with Map Design.
You will make a lot of Loops really bad against Killers with 120% Movement Speed.
Buffing their ability is the way to go. You should not mess around too much with Movement Speed.

"Toxic" in DBD basically means: Anything a person does not like. It has lost all meaning over the years, basically everything is toxic now.

If you call Ormond toxic, you have a problem with A LOT of Maps. Since the Rework Ormond is not really a problem at all.

First of all, Killers also complain about peoples behavior, you see Killers complain about teabagging on quite a regular basis. Sometimes it feels like that the Survivors did not just teabag but also murdered their pet or something like that when you see how strong the reaction is.
However, a thing why Survivors complain more about behavior is because it is more impactful to them then to the Killer. Like, you can teabag or flashlight-click a Killer and they can still play the match as normal. They can get BPs, Hooks, Kills, win the game. But if a Killer does anything you mentioned, at least one Survivor will have a pretty bad game without any real chance to escape and if they are just tunneled and camped, they will also not have many points.
So while Survivor toxicity might be more common (I mean, there are 4 times as many Survivors...), Killer toxicity can be way more impactful since it can influence the actual outcome for the Survivor(s). As Killer I can get teabagged the whole game, but I can still end with a 4K and 60k BPs (30k for the match + BBQ). As Survivor, I get tunneled out of the game and can buy 2 Items in the Bloodweb afterwards.
-
That is not how it works.
Designing a cosmetic takes the same amount of time (roughly), so the pay for the designer is also the same, regardless of the cosmetic they create. So, if BHVR has the same costs, what would they create? A cosmetic for the hundreds of thousands of Feng-players or one for the three Adam-Mains in the world?
-
You are 4k hours in and STILL care about toxicity?
-
Can we wait what they will actually do before we complain?
Thank you.
-
Myers, not even a question. Way more iconic. Also, I think Ghostface is a pretty dull Killer to play as and play against. Myers at least has some variety in his Builds with the Mirrors.
However, I think Ghostface is more fair than Myers. With Myers, you can not see him all Game and get instadowned or even killed just because a Teammate was feeding him Evil the whole time. With Ghostface, it is your own fault if you get marked, because you probably did not pay attention.

Survivors got way too comfy cozy with every tile being a safe tile and you could chain them together.
More maps need to be like this where you have some areas that are VERY strong and some areas that are VERY weak. I'm okay with some god houses next to a dead street.
The era of "Run to tile, loop pallet for all you can milk, drop, vault window, run to next tile, rinse and repeat" absolutely needs to come to an end.
And you think having nothing is the way to go? I mean, there are Jokes about Killers wanting Survivors to spawn on Hooks, but thinking a Deadzone which is around 1/3rd of the Map is a great idea comes really close to this.
@Topic:
Yeah, I also dont get it. Sometimes some Pallets can spawn there, but it is also possible that you get nothing on the road. And I dont really get why it also does not provide any cover to hide behind (really, there are almost no trees) and why it has four lanes and is just so gigantic.

I'd love to know how many were free epic accounts. Worst idea ever
People really need to stop thinking that THIS is the reason.
You can get the game for a few bucks on Key-Sites. If I would buy the game right now, I would pay 4 Euros. And since DBD bans Cheaters and Hackers in Waves, you can have at least some days, but probably around 1-2 weeks before you get banned. More than enough time to mess around for just a little bit of money.
Sure, free Epic-Accounts made it even cheaper, but it is not like it was not cheap to begin with to get a new Account.

think that need to rethink the Wiggle-System
Nah, the Skill Checks for Wiggling are way better than pressing A&D. And most likely even better than the controller equivalent. And it grants more BPs in the Survival-Category.
But if you get tunneled and you want to hit your DS, just to get it auto-failed into the Wiggle-Skill Checks, you really dont want to use this system anymore. But once they fix that, I will gladly use it again.
-
This is a thing since they introduced the new Wiggle-System. I opted out of it due to this Bug. It is also known since then, but they did not fix it yet.

@StibbityStabbity said:
What would you recommend be done to fix this?
Specifically, how would you change Legions current power without making up a brand new power to make them more fun?
You have to change Legions Power. They are a completely failed concept which should have never left QA back in 2018. It is not like Legion are a strong Killer to begin with, they never were a strong Killer. But they also have 0 possibility to be a strong Killer with their current power.

Swf is one of the biggest issues for killers do you comms. Even bad survivors play better when they are on comms with their friends telling them the location of the killer.
Comms are not the reason why SWFs perform better than Solos. The real reason is because you can filter out Potatoes in SWF. The Comms in casual SWFs will probably not really be meaningful.

Running meta perks and trying to win does not make you a bad killer/survivor.
Good players in other competitive games do pick the best characters or loadouts and there's nothing wrong with that.
It is not, but you dont need 3 or even 4 Slowdown-Perks. Especially not on the strongest Killers.
IMO, playing that many Slowdown-Perks makes the game really easy as Killer.

Thats it, I have heard it all.
Earlier this week people actually said "Legion is like nurse now"
And here is "Legion is like similar to Tombstone Myers now"
HAHAHAHAHA
Legion OP bois
If you think a little bit more than just laughing your ass off about something you dont seem to understand, you will realize that the comparison is not bad at all.
If your team is constantly healing against Legion (as an example), you will also get punished by it. Same with the team not splitting up. Sure, it is not hard to realize that splitting up works good against Legion and that healing is not really the best way to do, but if your team decides to do exactly that, you are screwed as well.
-
Quite a bunch of Killers are stronger than Legion:
Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Hag, Doctor, Leatherface, Freddy, Spirit, Plague, Demo, Oni, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Blight, Twins, Nemesis, Pinhead and Artist are better IMO. At least those.
So you have plenty of variety if you want a Killer who is stronger than Legion.

I had an idea long ago about putting certain perks into categories and you could only bring a certain amount. To prevent the stacking of gen slow downs or 2nd chance perks. But we all know bhvr can't do that :p
The thing is, there are not really any definitions for those terms. It would be impossible to categorize them in a way to make it fair and understandable for everyone.
E.g. Corrupt Intervention, some would classify it as a Gen Slowdown-Perk, others not. What about Thanatophobia, which affects everything (except for Healing)?
For Survivors as well, how would you categorize a second chance-Perk? Some players think that BT is a second-chance Perk, but this would mean that bringing BT would not allow to bring an actual second chance-Perk.
