During this time of the day you would get instant Survivor Queues anyway, at least in my Region. During the Evening, they become a bit longer (2-4 minutes or something like that).
However, yesterday they were short, because many players want to try out the changes to Ghostface and Legion.
Alternative:
We do a post with Steam Charts and claim that DBD is dying because Survivors got so many Nerfs.

Maybe it was a bug when you did it because I tried a few times and always hit the fence and the rest of the times I played on that map, I had to go around. Everyone I ever saw stream the game as killer went around as well.
You were 100% able to hit Survivors over Fences on old Haddonfield. But they needed to be close to them.
-
Yeah, I have to agree that the middle should really be re-considered. It is around 1/3rd of the Map and it is very open and can spawn with 0 Pallets (from what I have seen).
Maybe at least at some unsafe Pallets next to Cars and add a few trees on the sidewalks to act as hiding Spots. But seeing someone from full Map away is not good IMO.
-
Yeah, I thought the same. I guess the reason is that they removed BOTH features of his face which stood out - the Beard and the Glasses. He already had cosmetics without the glasses, but since he kept his beard, you could easily identify him.
With both gone he looks like a different person.
-
The Tome should keep players occupied for some time. There is 0 point in having a tome which can be done in one day and then everyone has to wait two or even three weeks for the next challenges.
The challenges are either somewhat difficult or grindy to achieve this. And this is totally fine. (I would prefer more difficult challenges which need to be done in one game over grindy ones which basically only say "Play X amounts of games", but it is whatever)
-
Nah. Killers DCing should get the same treatment as Survivors DCing.

You did not understand my message. It's good that a person represents this sexual orientation. But why do you always have to shout out the information loud and clear instead of letting people understand naturally through the texts ? You wouldn't write a message to publicly declare a character's heterosexuality, so why do it for homosexuality ? It only reinforces the difference and the gap when we seek for many equal treatment and the stopping of the spotlight.
I completely understood your message.
And as I said, it was asked about a lot. And if something is asked about a lot and it is finally realized, it is just normal that the Devs announce it and make it public.
-
@Rokjer said:
Soooo... instead of letting the information be discovered naturally by the players, BHVR posts a big message on Twitter to support and highlight this facet of the character. Like... almost all productions (series, films...).
Maybe one day you will understand that we are not fairground animals. Would you have written the same message if he was heterosexual ? No. So why do it for homosexuality, if not to press on "the difference" again.
Because LGBTQ+-players have asked for representation.
A straight person does not really ask for representation. If you want straight representation, you dont really have to look at all, you get represented all the time.
But having a LGBTQ+-Character was asked a lot.

Devs literally came out and stated that if you target anyone with rainbow charms, it is considered harrassment and bannable because it was happening. There are threads on this forum about it, nothing stupid about my take. COnsidering it is the length at which these things reach
And another stupid take.
The Devs also confirmed that they will not ban anyone for tunneling. They will ban someone if they tunnel because they are homophobic.
You will not be banned for tunneling Davids. You will not be banned for tunneling people with a Pride Charm.
You WILL be banned if you tunnel Davids because they are gay. You WILL be banned if you tunnel people because they are LGBTQ+ and/or want to show support by wearing the Pride Charm.
It is the reason WHY you are tunneling. And not THAT you are tunneling.
Seriously, why is this ######### so hard to understand? When the Pride-Charm was introduced, it was all the same, Killers claiming that they will probably get banned because Survivors report them for tunneling. And this did not happen. And it will not happen this time.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
Glad you guys finally got your representation you have wanted.
However, now any David with the rainbow charm, is gonna accuse us killers of killing them due to this
This is not how it works and it is a really stupid take.
This is the same stuff that game up when the Pride-Charm was introduced. "Now Survivors will get Killers banned because they claim they were tunneled for being LGBTQ+!!!"...
And this did not happen. If a David claims that you tunneled them because he is a Gay-Character, you will be fine. If you say you tunneled them because they are a F-Word, you are not fine.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Didn’t David already have a girlfriend in the lore? I’ll have to read the time to see if they did it well
To be fair, you can be gay and still had a girlfriend in the past.
Either because you were not sure about yourself being gay or because you feel that it would be "normal" to date a girl.
@Topic:
I mean, why not? There are quite a bunch of gay players who really like David. And inclusion does not mean that it have to be new characters. And for those who dont really care about it, they will be fine with David being straight or gay.

@About8Genjis said:
What I do not understand is that they did fix the "facecamping issue with victor" on Twins. When you are controlling victor, you cannot switch to charlotte while near a hooked survivor. You would need to place victor near a hook before hooking, which wasted a little bit of time and may give the survivors time for a flashlight save, pallet safe, etc. and even then, victor cannot insta down or hit multiple survivors.
So why do Twins have these restrictions, but bubba, who can deny or punish unhooks in front of the killer better than any other killer, has none? It's a little weird.
Because camping with Victor was just one thing they can do.
Bubbas Chainsaw is the entire power.
@Topic:
IMO the issue is camping in general. Because usually, camping results in at least a trade. Bubba is just really, really good at camping.

Tbf to the Survivor in that last screenshot, they may not have realised that he had that add-on. Trapper is on the rarer side these days because he kinda sucks.
Yeah, fair enough. On the other hand, because Trapper is on the weaker side, the strong Add Ons (like this) are usually more known.
Sadly this picture cannot show that this Yui was always walking to hold her Sprint Burst and that she dropped Shack Pallet while Trapper was 500 meters behind her.
-
I dont know, in the majority of games I play her and play against her, at least one person is cleansing. And this hurts the team a lot, especially if the others dont intend to cleanse.
But, overall, her Corrupt Purge should be weakened and there should be more incentive to cleanse (Action Speed-penalties, timers which let you go down, Buffs for her while Survivors are fully infected, whatever). This would make her more interesting to play and play against, because she can be quite boring if nobody cleanses.
But it just shows how strong her ability is if the Survivors decide to run around as Oneshots without any way to hide instead of giving her the Corrupt Purge.
-
I mean, it is a Meme at this point, but if you dont enjoy a game, play something else. There is no point in playing games if they are not fun for you.
However, Killer in DBD will always be the more demanding role. Because it is the "1" in the "1v4". Obviously there is more to do. But personally, I would not call it stressful.
Because when I play Killer, I know who is responsible for me losing - it is me. I just wish more players would maybe go that route and think "Yeah, maybe I did not play well this game" instead of blaming everything for their losses.
And, as Killer, I at least dont have to deal with this:
Or this (Tapp crouching in front of me instead of Unhooking against a very fair-playing Trickster, escapes through Hatch after moving from Locker to Locker with 12k Points and has the audacity to say "gg"):
Or this (Yui did not bother to get me out of this Trap, she did not even think that there might be a reason why I dont struggle out myself):
So, while Killer is more demanding, I find it less stressful, because I know that I am the reason why the game went poorly. And I dont have to rely on anyone else.
But, if you want that Killer is not demanding anymore, then DBD is not the game for you. Because it will never happen that the side with only one player will have it easier than the four players.
-
Unneccessary IMO. If a Killer wants to do that, whatever, just annoying that they waste my time while doing so. And sadly I cannot do anything to get the game over faster.
As Killer, I really dont like to slug for the 4K, unless the remaining Survivor was a dick to their teammates or myself OR I need my 4th BBQ-Stack OR I see them when I down the second to last Survivor. But when this does not apply, I really could not be asked to prolong the match just for some Internet points.
-
I mean, you have the sample size of 1 game.
The Devs have never mentioned something like this. And I have not experienced it myself as Survivor.

They won't lose you the game, but they do have a legitimate impact on overall map design. It's like a non-commitment design choice. Instead of creating the map to have fluid gameplay and well thought out loop designs, there's just a wall that turns an area from good to bad. I agree with what you've said about the Ironworks top floor window, but that wouldn't even be an issue if the design was better. Dbd's core gameplay issues are directly related with map design. The walls only add to this. It slows down gameplay and removes any meaningful design decisions. There's nothing interactive or fun about getting locked into a 3 second animation to be able to play around a loop. And it solves none of the problems of the maps gameplay for more than a couple seconds.
I think this is the result of how the Devs work - they changed some structures, made them way less problematic. But since they did not have anything left afterwards, they added the breakable Walls.
In general, it would have been better if they would have made more changes right away. So that they would not even need to add a breakable wall to give something back to the Structures they nerfed before.
However, the main point should always be: Breakable Walls are here to stay. They wont go away, they just added them to Haddonfield. They got introduced 2 years ago with Chains of Hate and since then, every new Map had them. They are not thinking about removing them, otherwise they would not add them to their current Maps and current Reworks. And I really dont think they are that bad. I will never be a fan of them and some Maps should not have any breakable Walls, but it is what it is.

No, EVERY shack should have that breakable wall. Not JUST Dead Dawg.
A structure called "The Killer Shack" should not be one of the most Survivor sided structures in the game.
If you cannot run Shack as Killer, this is a "You-Problem". The Dead Dawg-Shack should get rid of the breakable Wall (and be made smaller, because it is a little bit bigger than regular Shack).

If you dont believe it fine, its true but you're entitled to your thoughts but as soon as you use it to take the p and clearly exaggerate it theres no point in a discussion.
I do find it funny how Escaping 3games and dying ONCE and sometimes Escaping 2 and dying once is so unrealistic but you literally have multiple survivor streams Escaping 4-20games in a row which is far above my 3.
Edit: that was also eu off peak time so definitely easier than peak tim, was all in the post.

But sure whatever you say, I dont fancy wasting my time explaining everything to you. If you dont see the issues the distance creates and the all the uses iframes have you're part of the problem.
You just want easy second chance perks, noted.
I mean, I dont use DH to begin with. But hey, you do you.
You might enlighten me how iframes which dont do anything due to the short missed attack cooldown can do anything. Or, you assume that I run DH and want my "OP-Perk" not being nerfed.

For bad players maybe yeah...
I mean, not everyone is a godlike player like you with 110% escape rate, but the difference between going down or surviving with just I-frames is more luck than anything.
Are you really, really, really close to a Pallet or Window? You might survive.
Are you only close to a Pallet or Window? Yep, you go down.
-
IMO the crying about breakable Walls is way too much. They are not that much of a problem, some Walls suck (e.g. that Dead Dawg is full of them, there should not be a Breakable Wall at shack and they should all be removed from The Game).
But some are pretty good. e.g. the one on Ironworks of Misery, this gives the Main Building a purpose. After they removed the God Window (rightfully), the Main Building hat nothing, it was a Deathtrap. With the breakable Wall upstairs, there is at least something to work with, but it cannot be used more than once, since it becomes weak when the Wall is broken.
They will certainly not go away at any point. I am not the biggest fan of them and some of them really suck, but it is not like a Killer player will lose a game because they need to break a Wall.
-
This happens when the categories are capped. At some point you max out on Objectives and you do not get any points anymore. 13k sounds exactly like 8k on Objectives and 5k for the escape.
The Category Caps should be removed. If someone wants to do a lot of Gens, they should be awarded with BPs. And if a Killer has trouble getting a certain category (e.g. Deviousness on some Killers), they should compensate it with other categories.
On a side note - I think that 1250 BPs for a Gen is pretty outdated in a itme where you get almost the same amount when hitting 4 Great Skill Checks...

So you want to make DH an instant save perk? Are people drunk?
Remove the distance and boom. Fix, it's not that hard...
This would just kill the Perk. Maybe a Nurse or a Blight after a few Rushes would have a penalty due to a DH which only gives i-frames, but for every other Killer, the Cooldown for missing an attack would just be too short to actually get anything out of DH.

Best probably Resident Evil for me, I like playing Nemesis a lot. And the Survivors had some cool Perks, even tho I am not using any of them.
Worst, either A Binding of Kin or Potrait of A Murder. Binding of Kin brought the Twins (and many Bugs back then), and I really hate that Twins are in the game. My will of life is gone when I hear Victor being released.
And Potrait of a Murder - Killer is really boring to play and play against, since her Power promotes holding W, since you cannot loop her. And Jonah is pretty forgettable.
-
With this, the Perk is basically a Chase-Extender again. Because the Killer needs to chase the Survivor they already caught again.
IMO this is way worse than current Dead Hard. It is basically a better Flashlight-Save, just without a Flashlight. Or a Pallet-Save without a Pallet. And I dont think that hitting the Killer with the Dash is really hard.
I dont think that DH should be changed in the first place (as someone who does not even run it), but this is not the right way to do any change.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
It honestly needs a full scale rework it's biggest design flaw is that's all pallets and like what? 4 window spawns
In the long-term, this should be the goal. Way more Windows and removal of safe Pallets. The Game was always one of the most boring Maps to play on, since you only run around safe Pallets and once they are gone, you have massive Deadzones.
In the short term, they should got rid of every breakable Wall and remove the Pallets which got added to compensate for Deadends created by breakable Walls. But unless they remove those Walls, the Pallets should stay.
@ThanksForDaily said:
The Game was killer sided for years. Taste the other side.
IMO it was only killer-sided if you had a Hex-Totem, because back then, The Game was the only Map with strong Totem-Spawns. But once you did not run any Hex-Perks, it was not really killer-sided, since the gameplay resolved around safe Pallets.

Was accused to being a Cheater when playing as Billy because I knew where one Survivor was. He just was on BBQ and was pretty new to the game (SWF with two viewers, at least one of them probably brought him into my game, this was with Rank-based Matchmaking).
And I got accused of being a Hacker by a Blight, because I had 0 Friends on my Steam Profile, 0 Games on Steam, no profile picture and a Level 0-Steam Account and yet had a full Perk Loadout on my Survivor. Telling him that my Steam Profile is private and that this is the reason he cannot see my games etc. did not help...
-
Personally, I would rather remove some Add Ons to declutter the Bloodweb a bit. So instead of 2 Add Ons you most likely wont use anyway (because Keys just suck), there is only one Add On which shows Survivor Auras up to 48m away and the 24m-Add On is just removed.
In general, the problem is that Survivors have 3 times as many Bloodweb-Items compared to Killers. Which makes it a pain to get certain Add Ons. So I think, that they should remove Items completely from the Bloodweb and make them a Power of Survivors which they can equip. So instead of 3 Flashlights, 3 Keys, 2 Maps, 4 Medkits and 6 (!!) Toolboxes, there is only one of each which cannot be found in the Bloodweb, but can be choosen via a menu. To avoid 4 Survivors with Medkits every game, maybe change it that a certain Item gets blocked for a few matches (2 or 3) after it was used.
Then, you already have 18 Items less in the Bloodweb. And the Add Ons will be reworked, removed or merged (e.g. a Map should show everything like a rainboy Map, which allows for the respective Add Ons which grant the abilities to the green Map to be removed), which results in a much lower amount of Add Ons (which will be gone after each game, unless the Survivor has a White Ward).
But I guess this is way too complicated.
So, yeah, at the very least Keys should get some Buffs to make them worth taking for their Aura Read-feature.

Thank you. They really need to put that in the official definition because the way it is now, they specifically say that body-blocking isn't an offense. (And I think I've seen the opposite said a long time ago, so at least it would be publicly official. ) Maybe it should be put in the suggestions.
Being a dick isn't bannable. It it was there are a lot of survivor teams (and killers) who would have be banned a long time ago.
I think they want to keep it as simple as possible with those things. Because the problem here is that a thing which is not bannable (bodyblocking) can cause something which is bannable (holding the game hostage). And if you somehow manage that bodyblocking is bannable under certain circumstances, you will have players complaining that others did a bannable offense. You even see it right now that Killers complain about Survivors bodyblocking when they are carrying a Survivor and Survivors complaining about bodyblocking if a Wraith blocks a Window for them to vault or a Billy or Plague block them into a corner to use their ability.

No, because you can be rescued from a Hook. Also, even if you cannot be rescued, the maximum time you spend on the Hook are two minutes. Plus, it is regular gameplay, because the Killer needs to hook Survivors to do their Objective.

The new players thing was just a side note, as the point I brought up carries to a majority of players until you get to the best of the best, though it cannot go without mention its prevalence in new players in particular.
Do you really think I don't know how annoying a good player with Sprint Burst is? My entire point there was that Sprint Burst would be the preferred sweat exhaustion perk of choice given the scenario laid out in this post, though I suppose you got too swept up in "especially newer players" to notice.
The change to DH was a buff in all but name, as well. Restoring its original consistency made it leagues better than all of the other exhaustion perks, when with its inconsistency from the change in servers brought it down to the level of Sprint Burst and only just above most other exhaustion perks. I was there for the DH before the server change and the inconsistent DH after it. Evidently, I'm also here for the new one, and I can say definitively the fix to its consistency was a buff in all but name as it removed the only weakness of the perk.
Mayhaps someone could use a lesson in reading comprehension before they try to sound like a smartass, eh? All of the things I've said here were things I said in my initial comment, but unfortunately someone needed a little extra elaboration to pick up on them.
You might know that good Players with Sprint Burst are gonna be annoying, but the majority probably does not know.
And no, it was still not a Buff. Or was Nurse recently buffed when they fixed her Bugs? Bugfixes are no Nerfs or Buffs.
-
"when the hell are we gonna the get the basic feature of actually having an anticheat?"
There will always be Cheaters on Onlinegames. You can have the best Anticheat and you will still have players who bypass it.
You said you found 2 blatant Hackers in 4 games - what exactly happened? Do you have video footage? Because from my experience as well, most of the time people call other players Cheaters just because something happened which they either did not understand, did not know or where they got unlucky.
e.g. I got called a Hacker a few weeks ago, because someone thought I had a Level 0-Steam Account, no games, no friends on my friend list, but still a full Perk Build in DBD. My profile is just private, yet this person thought I was hacking.

Again, not on the list. It's like doing a four slugs and letting everyone bleed out. "Not participating the the normal game" but still will end.
Taking the game hostage is when the game litterally cannot end by some action.
Even survivors hiding for 15 minutes doesn't count if they end up doing something else (e.g. finally doing gens)
Here we go:
@Mandy said:

Sorry this is also incorrect.
The killer blocking a survivor in a corner is a hostage situation regardless if the other 3 survivors are able to work on generators. The survivor that is being blocked cannot do anything to progress the game (this is of course as long as EGC has not yet started). It is completely irrespective of the other survivors being alive.
The blocked survivor is being held hostage, cannot die without being hit by the killer, cannot work on generators - can do absolutely nothing in that situation therefore it is a hostage situation and completely against the game rules.
Can we stop defending doing stuff like this for once? Seriously, I really hope that people who go like "iT Is nOt hOlDiNg tHe gAmE HoStAgE If tHe oThEr sUrViVoRs cAn dO GeNs" dont really think that it is a cool thing to block one player in a corner for a longer amount of time.
But every time this comes up, people say it is not holding the game hostage if other Survivors are still alive. Every. Single. Time.

There is a possibility to finish the game so it's the teammates who are keeping the game hostage if they don't act.
Even if the game can end, holding a player hostage for some time to not let them participate in the game is a bannable offense.
Sure, if you block a Survivor in a Corner with 5 Gens up, the game can end. However, the Killer is still holding one player hostage at this point, so it is a bannable offense.

This is just not true. SB and DH are likely around the same effectiveness, however SB's mental factor preventing especially newer players from sprinting when they should in addition to its inability to be activated on command makes it everso slightly worse than DH. DH is the definitive superior exhaustion perk however, ever since it got buffed by the increase to its consistency.
To answer the question, Sprint Burst would be the strongest I think. Overcome is a major pain in the ass, but is significantly easier to deal with. Overcome is countered by applying pressure on multiple survivors consistently to prevent healing, Sprint Burst prevents you from applying pressure on multiple survivors at all.
The thing is, "newer players" are not really a factor in this discussion. Because a newer player with DH or Sprint Burst would not be a problem at all. Those are the players who use their Sprint Burst at the start of the Match and never really recover it. And those are the players who use DH in a Deadzone or plant their face into a wall while using DH.
And the good players who make good use out of DH (lets be real, good players play loops greedy with DH in mind and dont get outplayed by the Killer and negate their mistake) will also make good use out of Sprint Burst. Will not be fun for Killers if those players switch to Sprint Burst.
On a side note, DH did not get buffed. DH got fixed. It used to work like this before Dedicated Servers were a thing, the Devs did not buff the Perk, they just restored the intended function of it. It just took them a long time to do it, which makes Killers get used to Hits they should not have gotten in the first place.

RNG can be fixed easily. Just make it so all of the traps combined require a fixed amount of searches that are randomly distributed amongst all of them. This way there is still the fun random aspect of it but the pig should get a more consistent slowdown experience.
Apart from that most of the time i found her crouch to be useless. It's way too slow and risky to use.
There was an idea (I think from Otz) to make Traps work like this: Each Trap has a different number of Attempts. One Trap will go away on the first try, one on the second, one on the third and one on the forth. This would still be RNG on the Survivor-Side, but the Pig would have a guaranted value of 10 Box Searchers (or 2,5 per Trap on average). However, to do this, something would need to be done about AFK-PIg, because otherwise one Survivor will always die by default.
Regarding the crouch: Her stealth is actually quite good. However, you need to invest Perks into it, so Whispers and Monitor&Abuse and you have quite a good use of her Stealth-Ability. Would be better if she would have 28m-Terror Radius like she used to have, but eh.

Pig needs some Love to her Dash and Stealth. Still, sadly. The Add On-Pass helped her a lot, but IMO too many Add Ons still focus on her Traps and not much love is given to the rest of her Kit.

Yes nurse is strong and they need to work on her but pls no rework. I don't even play her despite loving her theme and style but I think total reworks should be the last straw after many many trys to change a killer because there are many people out there who love her not for being op but for how she is played and losing that sucks. Freddy is the best example for that many people stopped playing him completely after he got reworked. With nurse it would be even worse because she has so many cosmetics people invested in and then one day she is a complete different killer you Mabry don't like to play that would be cruel
IMO they should keep her Power (the Blinks), but change her ability in a way that the Blinks are not the only way for her to get Hits. Her entry level should be easier, but the power overall should be weaker. So something like not being able to blink through walls, but being at least 4.4m/s Movement Speed. So it should not be a complete Rework like Freddy.
BUT - this will never happen. Because BHVR does not want a big backlash from Killers who seriously think that the one broken thing of the past should stay in the game.

Double Recharge is better than range. Stop crying.
That one thing is better than another does not mean that the thing they are complaining about is not a problem. So "Stop crying" because there is something even more broken is not the right way.
And personally, Range + Recharge is stronger than Double Recharge IMO.

Sprint Burst, it is already the better Perk.
DH is only a problem in the hand of good Survivors. And good Survivors will also manage to use Sprint Burst in a very efficient way. Once DH is nerfed (which will happen), we will see a lot of Killers complain about Sprint Burst. Obviously, because it is the next thing on the list, but also because they realize that it is far more annoying if you dont even get into a Chase in the first place because the Survivor uses Sprint Burst without any danger at any point.
