You don't need nurse reworks to win against majority of killers (or let alone nurses, wow!) as a survivor though, what's the point of balancing if you only think about pub matchmaking.

Because Public Games are actually way more important than those niche and laughable tournaments?

Then DBD can be 100% survivor controlled. Sounds thrilling. It’s impressive how consistently you post wildly delusional opinions.

You dont need to play Nurse to win games. Every Killer can win games against the majority of Survivors.

When Nurse was disabled I did not see all Killers suddenly losing every game.

  • Reworked. Her Basekit is not fine. It was designed by a Dev-Team which had far less of an idea what should be in the game and what not. Nurse would not be released like this nowadays, she is one of those broken things released back then, but she is allowed to stay because Killer Mains would complain too much if she would be nerfed or reworked.

However, she should be reworked. A Nerf alone would not really help, because she should stay a strong Killer. But not bypass everything in the game.

And it is not just her Add Ons. Sure, things like a third Blink, (Double) Recharge or Range should not exist. But on the other hand, having her problematic Basekit as it is and all Add Ons being Meme Add Ons does not really sound great either.

So she should be reworked completely - base power AND Add Ons. A base power-Rework of Nurse would also allow the Add Ons to be strong and useful.

  • Question - did you only play against Survivors with Meme-Perks in Rank-based Matchmaking?

What are your builds? Are you using Meta-Perks or are you using Meme-Perks?

They said what they did with the SBMM in their Blogpost about the Matchmaking-Tests. SBMM will not go away, people thinking it would, are delusional. The system is a huge pile of #########, but it is here to stay.

But, removing the Grades form the Endgame-Screen is alright. They had no purpose for Matchmaking and players were just confused.

  • Aside from Circle of Healing and MoM (which got nuked pretty fast), the last Meta-Perk released for Survivors was Dead Hard. Most Survivor-Perks released are either weak or very, very niche.

The only reason why this does not seem as extreme on the Killers side is because every Killer plays different and some Perks can be situational, but good on specific Killers. E.g. Iron Maiden can be good on Huntress and Trickster, but thats about it.

Both sides usually bring strong stuff, but for Killers, there is a bit more variety, because Killers play different. (Of course you can run the same 4 Slowdown-Perks on every Killer, this is also possible)

Does Legion whiffing still take him out of Feral Frenzy? That's always been the thing that made them unplayable for me and a lot of others on console.

I'm glad hemorrhage doesn't affect recovery, though. That would've sucked.

I would say this is a problem with the game being on platforms which can be so different.

Because on PC, it was really annoying to verse a Legion who failed to hit you 5 times, just to have the 6th hit landing without any penalty at all. It is probably impossible to find a middle ground for that.

Yes, if for example everyone is using flashbangs that burn you out of power, or they stealth your corrupt intervention, that's it, you're slower at hunting survivors out of stealth, and not that good at camping. You suffer Dead hard.

With Plague you can use Blood Echo with add-ons to make the infection last 40+20+30 seconds on the gens, and either force everyone to be injured or wait a massive amount of time, and if they all get injured you deny any Dead Hards, and at that point where everyone is injured you're a camping monster.

My point is, if we start analyzing every aspect of a Killer, we end up on: "Why not play Nurse?"

People should play the Killers they like, but also dont expect a 4K every time when they play a Killer who might be weaker than others.

  • Does not mean that the recovery regression was a good idea in the first place.

  • If you have more fun with Deathslinger, play Deathslinger.

Otherwise, we could ask the question "Is there any realistic reason to play any Killer over Nurse?".

  • I only watch chill Streamers. I dont want to watch a streamer whining about the game if they are outplayed. This removes a lot of European Streamers during mid-day.

In evening, I usually play myself. E.g. I used to watch Scorpionz, but his schedule changed a lot at some point (he moved to the evening), so I did not watch him anymore.

Sometimes I watch Umbra or OhTofu, but Umbra rarely streams nowadays and both stream during a time where I am usually asleep or busy.

  • Change his FoV and animations. This would improve him more than any changes to Overheat or Add Ons.

  • This can happen all the time.

Did a Killer dodge your Lobby before?

The only thing that needs to go is syringes and stypitics.

I'm sorry. But nothing should exist that lets you heal almost instantly mid chase especially(green med kit)

There shouldn't be an item that gives you free BT. That's long enough to get you to a tile. It's not a perk. It's an item that can extend chases further then they have the right to be.

Complaining about Syringes and Styptics in 2022...

    @Topic:

Before the Devs try to change any numbers, they should make it that Boons only affect the floor they are active on. So at multi-floor Maps that it only affects that one Floor. You should not have a Boon upstairs in the middle of Midwich and have its effects on the lower Floor. You should not have a Boon upstairs in the library on RPD and benefit from it while not being on the same floor.

Because from the design, Boons are meant to be removed quickly by the Killer. But if they have to go upstairs in the Library or even worse, upstairs in Midwich, they cannot remove them quickly anymore.

I think this change would be far more important than any number changes. But overall, I think the Perk will slowly go into the "useless"-section with further Nerfs. It was a Perk which was too strong and was released like this because it was a Survivor-only Chapter. And similar to MoM, it will be brought down to a weak status, just this time, the Devs do it slowly and dont crush it right away.

  • Nobody knows. Some people complained, but honestly, this is the case every time when a PTB is launched. It has tradition that at least one Survivor Perk is picked and called problematic, just to never see this Perk again after one week after release. Parental Guidance was one of those.

And I also think it should have been added to DS to buff the Anti-Tunneling Aspect. So that a Nurse or Blight cannot just laugh about it, look around and are back at you immediatly. However that BHVR brought it as a Perk on its own shows that there are no plans to buff the Anti-Tunneling Aspect of DS.

I mean, it is no Anti-Tunnel Perk, because it does not much to counter it. A Killer will just push through it if they want to tunnel, and the stronger the Killer, lesser the impact of DS.

But I would not call it not worth to use. Sometimes the Killer really goes for a different person after being DSed. And if you are not playing as a 4 man-SWF all the time, you will have players on your team who unhook you without BT. And if you dont have DS, this would mean that you are back to the Hook in just 10 seconds.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319986/the-pip-system

If a survivor escapes it gets a guaranteed black pip.

This is wrong. You can also depip while escaping. This happens when the Killer is a facecamper or straight up afk.

IMO an escape should always grant a Blackpip (and a 4K should always grant a Blackpip as well, but from what I know, the only way to depip during a 4K as Killer is when you kill all Survivors with a Tombstone and never hook any of them).

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I agree. He has the same issue as pre-nerf Freddy. The killer isn't OP on their own, but they synergize ridiculously well with stacked slowdowns. Having even one less skilled teammate will totally throw the game for the entire team against a killer who can make games take forever. Plus there are quite a few things that make him downright annoying to face.

I'd rework Engineer's Fang. His power isn't hard enough to land to warrant that reward.

We know they can make trial items not replace survivor items (VHS tapes and Sadako). The box shouldn't make me drop my item. That's incredibly annoying.

Franklin's and Hoarder shouldn't interact with the box at all. A box chasing forever chain hunt Pinhead might be the most annoying thing in the game to face.

Let me solve the freaking box. I know I've said the word a lot in this post, but it's ANNOYING when you're trying to solve the box and it keeps spamming chains at you.

Pretty much this. He might be better to face when playing in a 4 man SWF, but not everyone is playing in a 4 man SWF (and I doubt Killers will give the conter: "Then play in a 4 man SWF!").

But for me, the interaction with Franklins/Hoarder and the Box is the most annoying thing. This should not be the case IMO. However, I think that the Devs want to keep it in the game. And Pinhead-Players want to keep it in as well. And I think that this is the main reason why the Add Ons which make solving the Box take longer have been nerfed - the Devs dont want to kill the actual combo, so they nerf the next best thing. Which also affects every Pinhead who does not run Hoarder/Franklins.

And overall, I think he is pretty boring to face. When he came out on the PTB I only played like 1 hour of the PTB instead of the whole evening, because Pinhead was so boring to play against.

But I also dont really know how to really fix anything without making him bad.

I have never even had that notion enter my head, never mind say it. In fact; I have never seen anyone say it before.

No sarcasm, no joking; I have never heard that notion until you asked it right now.

But thinking on it; If a survivor keeps his DS until the end game or once gates are open; they deserve that escape. The perk did something incredibly niche, or the Killer misplayed, or the Survivor avoided being tunneled. All 3 are valid reasons to have DS work in the end game.

For BT? Eh? 🤷‍♂️ If the game plays out so BT gets use in the end game; then the Killer did not play right to prevent it form happening, or the Survivors out-played him. It might feel a bit frustrating, sure, but perks are there to impact the game. And that means the whole game; from the first second to the last second before Survivors step out the game/the last Survivor is killed.

    Ok.

Because this "idea" came up multiple times on the Forum already. And it is funny, because people defend NOED the same way "The game is not over when 5 Gens are done", but then sometimes the same people want to disable BT or DS in Endgame, because the Killer can only camp and tunnel at this point.

However, my opinion will most likely not change. I dont think that the game is over when 5 Gens are done, however, NOED is badly designed because the Killer will get it regardless of their own performance. They can get 0 Hooks or 8 Hooks, they get a value out of NOED. No Way Out is a well-designed Endgame Perk, it gives value based on how good the Killer did during the game. A bad Killer will most likely not get the maximum value out of No Way Out. But they get the same value out of NOED like a good Killer.

Let alone a camping Killer - it is impossible to do 5 Gens AND cleanse 5 Totems while one person is camped on the Hook. It is probably not even possible to do 5 Gens if they get camped early on.

IMO NOED should be changed into a Perk which gains Tokens based on how many Hooks the Killer got during the game. And then gives a Buff based on the number of Tokens. Plus, remove the Hex-Status so that it keeps being active during the Endgame.

This would be a far better solution. A Killer who did well will get a huge benefit from it during Endgame. A Killer who did poorly will not get that much of a benefit and a Camper almost nothing (because they only have one Hook).

But I doubt that NOED will ever be changed to something like this.

See, you have to change your mindset. The Killer did not 'suck' to have 5 gens pop. This is BS.

Think of this: Survivors say Killers 'sweat' if they kill with 5 gens to go. Survivors say Killers 'suck' if all 5 gens pop. Both are excuses as to why the Killer should not get kills at that time.

So, according to Survivors; Killers have to wait until 1 gen pops (and it's very frequently 2-3 at the first pop) but stop using perks that help after 5 gens pop?

Let me ask a better question; Why. The hell. Are Survivors deciding if they OPPONENT deserves kills, or dictating WHEN their opponent gets kills? What makes Survivors think they can chose when their opponent wins, or how?

Stop thinking 'NoED rewards sucking' because that's wrong. Literally just factually incorrect. 5 gens is just step 5 out of 6 for leaving. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's not a cut-off point for Killer skill.

It's not 'basically winning' or losing.

Killers have not 'basically failed' if 5 gens pop.

There is nothing special or holy about the 5th gen popping. Nothing that makes it a cut-off point for skill or kills.

Try to get those notions out of your head, because all they are are fake flaws and incorrect excuses to blame NoED for Survivors too lazy to do bones. Sorry, but that is the truth.

Just a question - are you one of those guys who say that BT or DS should be disabled once 5 Gens are done?

  • @GamerEzra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914116#Comment_2914116

Because killers only have 1 real second chance perk. Survivors also have perks to increase gen speed. They can bring prove thyself to speed up gens massively, bring a toolbox, BNP's are still really really strong. Even resilience speeds up gens. Also, Dead hard can be used the entire game while NOED can only be used after all gens are done. And again, it can even be prevented from activating.

Again, it does not make sense to compare the amount of second chance Perks at all. The roles play differently. Survivors have far less Perks which can affect Gen Speed, but that does not mean that they should have more Perks.

It can be fine if Killers have second-chance Perks - IF they are well-designed. NOED is not well-designed, not even a little bit. Only a small amount of players would complain about NOED if it would be a Perk which rewards good Killer players and not the Perk which grants you a Kill for sucking all game.

  • @GamerEzra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914094#Comment_2914094

So unbreakable, DS, Deliverance and BT are all useless on ''bad'' survivors? They take Skill to use?

I'm sorry but I'm not a low MMR killer. Survivors know how to use Dead Hard. Even a bad survivor can get huge value by pressing E. Dead Hard takes no skill at all. But even if it was useless on bad survivors that wouldn't matter since I don't play against ''bad'' survivors. But I already play way less killer then I used to play. Keep on going with the killer (perks) nerfs and enjoy the 15 minute queue! :D

No Perk in DBD really takes skill to use. DBD is an easy game overall.

And again, why do you compoare the amount of second chance Perks of the two sides in this game? Survivor and Killer gameplay is entirely different, so why the comparison?

  • @GamerEzra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2913775#Comment_2913775

Killers have 1 second chance perk which can even be prevented from activating. Survivors have tons of second chance perks. please leave NOED alone...

Again - cleansing worthless Dull Totems is a really bad way to prevent the activation of NOED. OhTofu once made a good example: If there is a Survivor Perk which grants 10% Movement Speed after all Gens are done, but it can be countered (even before Endgame) by opening each Locker in the Basement two times, it would be a Perk which is just as stupid as NOED. Unreasonable Counter for a strong effect which requires 0 effort.

And, the problem is as well that NOED does activate regardless how the Killer did. So you cannot even compare it to Survivor Second Chance-Perks, since a bad Survivor with Dead Hard is not really a challenge. Dead Hard only becomes strong in the hands of good Survivors, the bad Survivors are those who use DH without Pallets or Windows nearby. NOED gives the Killer 1 Kill (most of the time).

And, last but not least, comparing the amount of second chance Perks does not make sense at all. I mean, Survivors have way less Perks which speed up Gen Speed compared to those who slow it down on the Killers side, this does not mean that Survivors should have more Perks to speed up Gen Speeds.

  • "doing Bones" is still not a good counter at all against a Perk which makes a lot of loops laughable and gives an Instadown for a Killer who might have not achieved anything during the game (or was just camping the first Survivor they found).

If you spend time searching and cleansing 5 Totems, you might not even reach Endgame, which makes it obsolete whether the Killer has NOED or not.

  • To be fair, I read afterwards that BHVR has already implemented the changes they were talking about, so this is most likely what OP meant when they said "God bless BHVR".

But I would guess that the result would be roughly the same with the "old" system as well, if you lower your MMR for a while, you will get easier games as a result.

  • Werent you the guy who let every Survivor escape for a while?

So, you lowered your MMR until you get Potatoes?

  • Improvements - yeah, sure. But really, not the Quickscope.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    Well here are 2 ideas:

    1) Whenever Generator is completed, all Vault locations are blocked for 30 seconds.

    2) Whenever Generator is completed, all Vault locations within 40 meters of the killer (not moving with you) are blocked for 40 / 50 / 60 seconds.

This would just make the Perk super-annoying, but probably not even worth picking.

You would just go down if you are in chase because someone else completed a Generator. As I said, super-annoying. But still not strong enough to be picked over the Meta.

  • @deckyr said:

    sink your MMR

i'm sorry... but i'm not motivated to play more games when the ones i'm having are guaranteed to not be fun no matter what i do in them.

MMR has made this game worse for me, very proactively. as a casual player, i would like to go back to how it was before.

MMR has nothing to do with people playing Meta-Perks.

I really dont get why players now complain about the other side bringing strong Perks, the same was the case when we had Rank-based Matchmaking. The builds did not change at all, just different Slowdown-Perks on the Killers side and CoH on the Survivors side. Those are the only changes, which would have happened anyway.

  • I dont think we will have Crowns again. IMO the Anniversary Events the past two years were alright, but the 5th really only was a copy of the 4th and the Devs took a lot of criticism for that. So I doubt that the 6th even will be another Crown-Hunt.

But IF we think about adding separate Slots, I would be happy about a Slot for Backpacks for Survivors. Because there are so many Backpack-Cosmetics, some of those would look awesome without the Backpack.

But, I think this (and a separate Slot for Crowns) would be too much word for too little outcome.

  • Can we stop with the "Survivor Rulebook" for once?

Killers also have their made up rules, unlike Survivors, they can actually make it that the other side does not get anything out of a match. This forum is full of people who complain about Survivors doing this and that. Yesterday I got tunneled by a Pig, because of "Perks" (I dont know which Perks, obviously she got DSed, but my Adrenaline did not activate since I was dead and my BT was useless, since nobody else got hooked...), a few days ago I got camped by a Wraith because I lightburned him once with a Flashlight I found in a Chest.

Let alone if one Survivor teabags, they are basically worse than Hitler at this point.

Both sides have stupid rules, yet I always the "tHe sUrViVoR RuLeBoOk" while both sides do the same stupid stuff.

  • @Mr_K said:

    Nice

Just 1000s of Epic accounts to go.

I dont think this matters too much. You can get the game on Key-Websites for a few bucks. If I would get DBD right now, I would pay 4 Euros for it. And would have a few days or weeks to mess with the game.

  • @Dionysus42 said:

Why complain about Keys? Flashlights are 'literally the weakest survivor item', so obviously keys aren't even the weakest item.

Both are pretty pointless when it comes to their actual function. However, what makes Flashlights weaker is that they are not only pointless against a somewhat decent Killer, but players also waste their time to try to go for Flashlight-Saves or try stupid things like CJ-Techs. Which is not the case if they equip a Key.

  • Personally, I feel that Perk Tiers should stay. Because if a new player starts with the game, they will run out of Perks before they even get their forth Perk Slot. So every Bloodweb afterwards is without any Perks and from my own player experience back then, the most exciting part about doing Bloodwebs was to get Perks.

But, the Grind is also not only Perks. You can also reduce the grind by reducing the Bloodwebs, e.g. removing some Offerings (Mist-Offerings for example), which can fall away completely. And Bloodwebs in general could be smaller, with less Nodes to click.

Also, the Survivor-Bloodweb REALLY needs an overhaul, there is so much stuff in them which is worthless due to Nerfs and they have 3 times as many Items in their Bloodwebs compared to Killers.

They can also increase the overall BP-Gain. Simple solution: Just double all BP-Gains. Or, at the very least, the BP-Offerings can be doubled in value. Or Bloodweb-Stuff can be cheaper.

There is so much more than removing Perk Tiers, which would the game a bit more boring for newer players in my opinion.

  • Their only use is to clutter the Bloodweb for Survivors even more, because you not only have Keys which get barely any use, but also a bunch of Add Ons you will most likely never use again.

IMO they should have buffed the Add Ons at least when doing the Key Change, I always liked the idea to have Maps as Aura Read-Objects for the Environment and Keys as an Aura Read-Object for the players.

what stuff for example? Only thing I can think if might be 360? --- Also out of curiosity: if playing ring around a rosie aka running in circles around sth ... what do you do after a couple of circles when the mouse is probably off-mousepad -- or do you smh not move the mouse as much to keep the view adjusted?

Flicks are more difficult with low DPI, as far as I know. I also only run with 50% Controller Sensitivity on both sides.

And well, my Mousepad is fine so far. It is not even big, but I manage. But I cannot really describe what I do, since I never put any thought into it how I use my mouse.

The rest are good, if niche. They are exactly what boons should be, power-wise. (Though all boons should have limited use or placings)

The problem is that CoH over-shadows them so much that they look terrible compared to the free healthcare that is CoH.

Even if CoH would not exist, nobody would run any of the other Boons (except to get Achievements). They are all bad and got worse overtime. with the worst being Dark Theory, which cannot even be buffed (unless they give it a second effect).

The reason why CoH is strong is because it is Healing (IMO the only good Survivor Perks are those who are second-chance Perks or those which speed up (Side-)Objectives). And, because it was a Survivor-only Chapter. But CoH will slowly be brought down to the Level of the other Boon, meaning, you wont see them.

  • "You would have to buff her movement speed to normal killers, and probably give her a secondary power to compensate."

    Of course. This is clear.

Removing her ability to blink through Walls would require her to be at least at 4.4 m/s. This would also make her easier to pick up for newer players, since her Skill Floor is the highest in the game. (But she is not that hard once you got used to her Blinks)

If you want to balance Nurse, you need to balance her Basekit. Reworking her Add Ons is not a good idea, since base Nurse is broken by design and do you really want a Killer who only has Meme-Add Ons? Things like additional Blinks, Blink Recharge Speed or Range should not exist, but IMO a Killer with strong Add Ons is better than a Killer who is more a design failure with Meme Add Ons.

  • 1000 DPI. Used to be 800, but 1000 feels more right.

I prefer a slow mouse. Means, in DBD I cannot do some stuff others can, but this is fine.

  • In addition to what was already said:

Dont expect too many changes from PTB to Live. The Devs only have a few days after PTB-Launch to adjust things for the Live Release (I think it is around 4 days), because they need to schedule the Chapter for the Live Release at this point.

So it might be possible that some Bugs are fixed and some things got changed, but there is most likely not enough time to fix everything which was found or change some things which did not turn out as they should be.

    Yikes. Those survivors were awful.

Not that cleansing Totems is a good counter to NOED anyway. You just end up wasting time, possibly not even reaching the point where 5 Gens are completed because you cleanse worthless Dull Totems.

You say impossible, but a few skillchecks or a prove thyself.... makes a gen go fst

OP said that they did not have Prove Thyself. (No Perks involved which increase Genspeed)

  • Currently:

Elden Ring, it will take some time until I finished my first playthrough.

World of Tanks, completing the Battle Pass. Which is actually taking some time, unlike the DBD Battlepass.

Those are the only games currently which I play aside from DBD, but I will probably jump on Code Vein in the near future to get the missing Endings so that I get all Achievements.

  • Gens take 80 seconds with 1 Survivor.

    47 Seconds with 2 Survivors.

    39 seconds with 3 Survivors

    36 seconds with 4 Survivors.

So under 30 seconds is probably not possible, but around that, is indeed possible if they all spawn there. Which is not a bad situation for the Killer tbh, 4 Survivors on one Gen means that it is done very fast, but also not efficient on the Survivor Side.

  • What was your build?

What was the outcome of the Match? The first 2-3 Gens dont really matter most of the time. You should not expect to end games with 5 Gens still up.

Fun fact, Nurse has got the worst killrate of all killers.

Because her Skill Floor is the highest of any Killer. However, the difficulty of Nurse overall is really overrated. It takes some time to get used to her Blinks, but once you got that, it is not hard to play Nurse. Even easier now that she is bugfree (at least I did not encounter any Bugs which made it hard to play her).

    Yikes.

Yeah, if you need a 4% Speedboost and Instadown to get Kills and cannot prevent 5 Gens from being done...Yep, you failed.

It would be totally different if NOED would be a Perk which rewards Killers who did well all Game, but this is not the case.

Pretty much this. Her Blinks should be reworked. It is fine if she keeps them, but they should not be the only way for her to actually get Hits. This would mean that she needs more Movement Speed as well, which makes her easier to pick up for newer players.

  • So, you were bad all game and because you got 4% more Movement Speed and an Insta-Down, despite failing, you suddenly feel good?

    Yikes.

IMO Bill is the second most-picked Character by new Players, right after Meg. Because they look at the Survivors, see Bill and think "Ah, this is cool it is Bill from Left4Dead!" and play him.
