Why is everyone on the forums so into streamers lol I don't get it.
-
I haven't noticed a significant change to tell you the truth.
My matches have been like this for the better part of this year. The anniversary event was full of killers running cakes and speedrunning the match so we all left with under 10k pre-multiplier. Being paired with new survivor players that are too scared to contribute to the match isn't new either. Sorry that it's only affecting you now, but the game has been this way for months now for a lot of us.
-
I've asked for them to disable offerings used for those maps to give us a heads up, but it's a waste of breath.

Ya know im surpsised we didnt get any Covid Plague players but thats probably a bit insensitive.
I saw a few Covid names in 2020 but not so much anymore. People aren't as scared anymore so it's less fun to use.

I always love these posts that are like
"play killer and u will understand why I can't play to have fun anymore"
Then someone who does play a lot of killer disagrees with them and they request credentials lol The game doesn't force you to play any kind of way and no matter how many excuses you give yourself, that isn't going to change. I could easily say play survivor for 100 hours without DS, BT, DH, SC, Unbreakable, etc. so "u will know my pain" but I get the sense that a lot of people saying the game forces them to play a certain way as killer have never played survivor without running those perks.
-
For me, the biggest issue lately are chase mechanics. Most of the killers we have now, while having their own difficulty curve and style of play, focus largely on ending chases quickly and/or from a distance. While it is fun, it throws the game off-kilter and makes survivor a headache to play sometimes because the few things we have to defend ourselves with become too risky to use.
It only makes it more apparent that the game was built around Trapper (who the game seems to have outgrown) and the devs are relying on other killers to shake up the meta. The abilities are changing while the game stays the same, which I think fuels the sweat and frustration people feel.
So while I think any given killer should be equally fun to play and to play against, I don't think it'll be possible to reach that balance very well with how things are now.
-
Honestly Trapper. Twins are kinda rare too.
-
If I'm running my unhook build, I'm still going for the switch.
I hate being the one forced out of the match, so I'm always willing to take the L for someone else. Sticking to gens isn't fun anyway.
-
They just sound pointless more than anything. I don't see them becoming too popular, but you never know.
-
I don't like any of them, but Oni's is OK because I like Oni.
-
I'd be down to make the skill checks on hook not decrease in size. It doesn't make a ton of sense why they do when you think about it.
-
I don't relate to any, but I'd like to get to know a few. 😳💦

Dead by Daylight 2?
Possibly, but I'd just imagine all the same problems would carry over unless they change their practices. Similarly to how EA handles The Sims.

Wow, really good explanation. It’d be nice if there was an easy way for the server to wait until the server registers the hit before sending the scream SFX to the killer client, but definitely don’t trust the current dev team to not screw that up.
Considering the amount of bugs the game constantly produces and how archaic it is at is core, they really should be rebuilding the game from scratch on the side. That's the only way I can imagine them fixing all of these issues. But who knows what they're up to. 🤕

Try posting a new picture of it and see if that helps.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer the wacky hard to complete challenges over "cleanse 25 totems", "repair 17 generators", etc.
They both suck tbh. The generator ones are like pulling teeth. I'm on the stun the killer 20 times one right now. I haven't had a ton of luck with pallets lately and I'm horrible at aiming flashlights with controller. Thankfully Blast Mine seems to count for 2 - 3 stuns each time it lands, for some odd reason lol
The one where you had to point at the killer with Premonition active from a couple rifts ago wouldn't work until I got an AFK killer.
I'd love it if we got more challenges that weren't miserable grinds, or so specific that they cause you to throw matches until you complete them. Ones nestled snugly in the middle.

To this day, I have no idea why remake Claire in general is so different from original Claire in design. Leon got to stay the exact same, why did Claire have to trade out her... well, everything?
Leon changed quite a bit too, but thankfully the uniform was kept mostly the same. Just a bit more on the side of Kevin's uniform from Outbreak and Roy's uniform in 1.5.
I think they mostly wanted to modernize Claire, so she's dressed more akin to Revelations 2 and Heavenly Island (and Ali Larter in the movies), which isn't how she dressed in the 90s. The new design always looked more like Zoey to me, which is awkward since they're both in DBD now lol There was a mod to give her her classic outfit from the remake in DBD, but even that looks a bit more CODE:Veronica to me than OG 2 or Darkside/ORC.
-
The heads that come with that set the pants are from don't have makeup anymore either.
-
I'd say do it whenever it makes sense to. If you're not having fun, your teammates might get pissed, but you're unlikely to see them again anyway with queues as fast as they are.
Your example makes sense. It was an altruistic thing and the longer you stayed, the more likely it'd be that they'd all end up going down. They might get pissed at that too, but oh well lol

Fear was killed when they decided to prioritize comfortability over atmosphere. Having all of your senses balanced to where you can see halfway across the map or hear anything going on lessens the need to be hypervigilant. The more information they give, the more gamey it becomes and the less scary it will ever be.
Even the simple process of going back to the old fog and lighting the game had would boost the fear factor and potentially make people less effective at sweating.

Most people probably don't play to sweat, that's why.
You can invest a lot of time and still suck if you're not taking the game all that seriously and want to fart around for a bit. There's also the chance that they play killer more than survivor and are just getting used to it, or someone else is playing the game, or they've taken a long break and are just coming back. All kinds of reasons.

Your options if you don't want to drop the game but refuse to play against boring tunnelers/campers (most killers lately) are:
- playing killer yourself (I know that's not really an option since it's basically a totally different game than playing survivor)
- playing Kill Your Friends if you have enough friends and you set your own rules like no tunneling/camping. Since you're all friends the person playing killer won't be stressed anyways and all the usual toxicity shouldn't be an issue.
- getting into a match with me as killer. I don't care about kills so I never camp/tunnel. I just play to get a lot of hooks and chases so I go after whoever I find and usually let people escape if they're on death hook if I already have like a kill or two.
I wish the game could read minds and create a no sweat mode lol I'd love to chill with more people like you.

the lullaby's purpose is it to tell people that he's on the field to take precautions. if you can't tell how close he is...
This community is amazing, and that's not a compliment. They will say trickster (especially in the state he's in now) is totally fine, but demand deathslinger gets nerfed because... his TR is unfair close you can barely hear it and he should get a distinct lullaby like huntress.
So, let me get this straight:
The guy who's lullaby blends entirely into his TR music who has now an absurdly fast great range attack is fine, but the guy with a distinct TR music and limited ranged AND an audio warning when he aims at you isn't?
Way to blame one guy for stuff he wasn't even talking about lol
-
At least survivor queues are instantaneous now. I don't even check post-game chat anymore. In and out.
Back when you'd be waiting 5-10 minutes just to die within the first 2, it was a nightmare.
-
I wish modding was still a thing so I could use the Darkside Chronicles model. 😥
-
Ash's puppet is still busted and on sale without any warning. Like all the bugs in this thread, it's "acknowledged" (aka thrown into garbage pile of crap they never intend to fix).

Players who play like scumbags decide to play like that. They are not forced to do so.
I was just about the post the same thing.
People talk a lot about winning, but DBD has no objective "win" other than having fun. Other people talk about how they play against scumbags so they're gonna play like scumbags too. I've played with and against some of the biggest ######### in the game and it hasn't made me run a meta build with a key or a flashlight every match. My objective is just to have fun, as intended. If anyone wants to play counter to my idea of fun, they're welcome to, but that is entirely on them.
-
I was thinking a charm shop similar to the shrine of secrets where they do a rotation of past charms that you're able to buy. I'm surprised we haven't had anything like that at all yet.
-
I almost always do comms when I play with friends, but I've done it without with people I've met over steam. We talk pre and post-game and take extra care to look out for each other, but there's no real difference. We still ######### around with each other and stuff like that lol
-
I've only ever seen one killer bitching about perks post-game and it was the reworked BT for some reason. I posted on the steam forums for a minute a couple years ago and people were complaining about Lightweight, so I figured if they hated it, it was good enough to run for a while and it helped me learn how to hide lol

I use tenacity so how about you go get hooked and die for me instead? Not kill me off?
I use Tenacity too, but you don't have to crawl the entire time you use it. If anything have it slow the timer down while it's in use. It makes a lot more sense than a "kill me" button.

I still haven't done the escape a match with a map by the hatch.
The first one is gen tapping and moving on to the next gen.
Plunderers helps with the second one on your list.
The pointing one you can do at the exit gate
The last one is do a hook and then gen while saboteur recharges
They're still all a bit odd in my book. About 3 in your OP are already in the archives too. The absolute worst are the grindy ones like 20 stuns in the current level of tome VIII, but I omitted those since they're fairly straightforward.

The sad part is that most players who think they're winning or losing do not understand the game at all. There is no winning or losing, it's a point game and that is all it is. Players make up their own rules to satisfy their lack of gameplay prowess, and use these fake rules to defend their actions.
Plain and simple, if you're a camper/tunneler you're just not good at the game. If you gen rush, again not good at the game.
The game is gonna, sooner than later, die although it is fun, but because people abuse the gameplay and make up their own rules of how game is supposed to be played. It is and always has been a point game. Bring back double depips for players who camp and tunnel and gen rush. Toxic players won't change, but the true gamers will.
I feel like the game has the potential to stick around forever, but at this rate, new content will start to slow down and it'll merely be supported and not actually very active.

The other two killers have easier tells for when they're going to use their power and are more fun against in a chase (even though I dislike ranged killers overall).
Plus a good chunk of the Spirits I play against give me not very good vibes. Like they only play her because she has a school uniform, if you catch my drift.
-
My list for the worst are:
- Repair 5 different generators for at least 1 second each. (single trial) (Tome III, level III)
- Escape the trial while carrying an item of Very Rare rarity or better 1 time. (Tome VI, level II)
- Point in the Killer's direction within 5 seconds of the perk Premonition activating. Do this 2 times. (single trial) (Tome VI, level IV)
- Escape the trial through the Hatch while carrying a Map. Do this 1 time. (Tome VII, level IV)
- Sabotage 3 Hooks without a Toolbox while using the perk Saboteur. (Tome VIII, level III)
-
I'm surprised RPD wasn't split to begin with. The RPD over the course of its lifespan in RE has had numerous locked doors, barricaded areas, etc. I don't see how it would be hard to have variations where one wing is barricaded or certain doors are locked. It could also help cut down on rendering and give the spaghetti code a break.
-
The game would be dead if they didn't have any licensed content, which is only proven time and time again by the community. I think it's gotten to their heads that as long as they can continue to get licenses and make costumes, the game will survive. But it'll fade into obscurity pretty quickly if they continue to let the game rot away like it has until suddenly Stranger Things isn't the only license out the door.
I don't think we need to feel very sympathetic or thankful toward a big company that fails to meet its previous standards in delivering its product, despite having more resources than ever. Do they feel sympathetic enough with us to stop charging us for broken content until it's fixed? Do they feel sympathetic enough with us to extend their community outreach and figure out what it is we really want?

You've been playing DBD for a long time (hopefully I'm not being too presumptuous). I find in my Solo matches (as someone who was formerly in red ranks), the genrushing thing is not common.
Do you think this a thing created by the advantage of SWF? Since the SBMM dropped, I've experienced camping and tunneling to a ridiculous level nearly every game.
To me at least, more and more it seems like the only people having fun atm are SWF's. Not Solos, not Killers.
This has been my experience as well. I had a gen rushing team today for the first time in ages. I was on hook and all 3 were a mile away on their own gens. Needless to say I thought I was pretty much boned at that point lmao
But it's been common for months now to play against really aggressive killers that will be gunning for you for just about anything. Not to say my teammates haven't BMed, but I certainly don't and I'm at the receiving end for a lot of it.

That’s because survivor players are generally fragile babies that must be coddled. Just because there’s an outcry doesn’t mean they are correct.
All the exhaustion perk nerfs have been a good thing. And yes, they should probably be looked at more. 40 seconds is a pretty short cooldown for a powerful perk.
Have you visited the forum before? Everyone complains about how their experience is objectively the hardest and the devs need to fix the game so they can have fun lol

I used to check other forums in between queue times. I come here after matches usually, but it's almost always sob story posts so I check less.

It paused the timer outright. It slowed down if the killer was close enough. It worked by having two survivors hover around hook, while someone else did gens. It was busted for obvious reasons
It could work just fine if it were fine-tuned to be like Camaraderie. But I do prefer the BP event method.
