I felt the same way at first, too. I think what caused it was focusing too much on movements and animations. As silly as it sounds, I started interpreting everything as an attempt to humiliate me or assert dominance over me. But when I started looking at the game for what it is; a simulation game with regular players who just want to play like me, it stopped affecting me negatively. I don't come into matches with a competitive mindset either.
When I face a player who tries to be toxic for no reason, my first reaction is embarrassment for them. What can they actually do to me? crouch repeatedly? spam their attack or force me to wait on the ground for few minutes?
It's annoying when I just want to play without dealing with players like that. But ultimately I see it as nothing more than something stupid, that isn't even worth the time to takes to mention.
I think what also helped me was playing what I enjoy and focusing on that. If playing Killer is making me upset, I'm not going to find excuses to keep playing. A game isn't supposed to stress us out. -
I'm not trying to be cynical. There are a few people here whose posts I've enjoyed reading, and some really nice people I'd like to get to know better. It's such a shame.
-
Teammates have gotten worse, and it feels like no one is choosing their class properly. For some reason, no one wants to play Scout, even though it's one of the most important and fun classes to play. A lot of people will pick Torchbearer instead despite it being difficult and almost useless in this mode.
Since Nemesis' zombies buff, it's been a pain to do the last two gens when two zombies are spawning close to almost every gen, while the killers are patrolling the area every few seconds.
I feel like the most miserable thing about this mode is that the chase isn't really interactable. When the killers group up, you get hit by one and then go down a moment later to the other. It feels like 2v1, and it's really frustrating.
The chase will always be the fun part of the game, once that's taken away, there's really no point in playing. -
A scenario where there are 2+ gens left and the Killer keeping slugging to get a 4K.
I have to wait until I'm slugged for the 3rd time before I can abandon the match. -
Making the guard go around the pallet is fair.
Being sandwiched around a pallet was impossible to dodge.

Make it so it affects everyone. Multiple copies increase the number of tokens.
Yeah, that can work too.
-
I played with Distortion a lot back in the day. It was a very helpful perk, but my games always seemed to end with my team dying. I think it could be better if it worked somewhat like Blood Pact or Better than New, where we could give another teammate a token or Elusive under certain conditions. That could help prevent the game from going downhill.
If this perk stays as a solo perk and only affects the player using it, I don't think it's a good idea. -
I can imagine a teammate with a loud keyboard and his family talking in the background. But jokes aside, I don't think even proximity chat with 4 people would be fair against one player. It might work if the killer could hear them too.
-
I noticed that she has a consistent scenario where, if one or two survivors are injured and get hit by the beam together, the match becomes unrecoverable at that point. But it's always the survivors fault, either because they weren't paying attention or didn't react in time. She isn't oppressive in my opinion, though. She's very much like Artist but stronger.
-
There isn't much variety in Killer builds, but survivors do have some good perk synergy, and I see it from time to time. As for having fun, it really depends on what you find fun and what gives you dopamine or the motivation to keep playing. The new MMR is already out, so maybe this would be a good time to see how the game feels. Other than that, there isn't much going on until the big updates, like the graphic update.
-
I dodge if I have to join a lobby with the same player(s) who kept throwing themselves at the Killer for a blind and didn't want to do anything else. I learned from that mistake twice.
-
Perks are what cause frustration the most, in my opinion. They're the main cause of my most miserable games anyway.
-
I really hope they do a Rift someday. I guess it's possible as long as the collaboration is worthwhile for Capcom.
-
I would like to think that players who prefer to toggle it off have some situational awareness and game sense, and don't feel like they need it to understand what's going on. Either way, if people don't want to play with it for whatever reason, that's on them.
Let's also not forget that there will be players who leave it on but ignore what's being said. -

Yeah, at times she sounds louder and at others quieter, but it’s still enough to give away her position from a far
Do you think she's as loud as Claire or jill?
I pretty much always run Iron Will, so I was hoping I could play Hinako without running it. -
@Oputeev_Stas said:
good, but we need normal skin without blood, plus she is way too loud for me
Are her grunts of pain loud?
She sounds pretty quiet from what I've seen so far. -
I second Five Moves Ahead. The perk is working at just the right time to gain momentum and prepare for a chase. The perk also encourages you to memorize the location of resources.
I like the synergy of Alert and Eyes of Belmont. Balanced Landing is almost situational, but it has great value. -
I asked if the graphics update is going to bring new animations or completely new bodies for the male survivors. This waiting is getting nerve-wracking 😅
-
I had a hard time finding a Killer whose playstyle I enjoyed until I tried Nemesis. Ever since then he's been my favorite.
Claire is my main. At first, I got a little bored playing with a legendary skin with no variety, but it doesn't really bother me anymore. I like switching to Leon every now and then, or one of the other Resident Evil survivors whenever I feel like using a different cosmetic. -
Genuinely the game is fun sometimes. Every now and then, you get a match where everyone in the lobby outdo themselves, and it's really fun to experience; regardless of the outcome.
-
I've been enjoying Kindred and Iron Will for so long. If they decide to change either of them, I just hope it's for the better.
I can't see myself playing solo queue without Kindred, and Iron Will feels almost mandatory on certain survivors. -
No, I find interesting perk combination using a random perk roulette surprisingly enough.
-
I got the impression that all these changes are planned for 2027. But I hope for more this year.
-
I'm so sorry for your loss. That last sentence has stayed with me for 12 years.
I'm really glad your favorite character in the game, and wishes you nothing but the best! -

Exactly, I’m sure they’ve heard the feedback and will hopefully make improvements for next year’s event. Just play enough to grab the rewards and stick to the normal mode. Personally, I don’t enjoy it on either side because when I’m playing survivor, my teammates waste too much time, and it’s pretty obvious why it’s not all that fun on the killer side either. Still, I’m not going to call the devs names or hate on them… I’m sure they had good intentions, but it just didn’t work that well in the gameplay.
Love your mindset, and I'm glad you agree. The feedback was enough for me to realize it's not a good time to play right now. I hope the new content from the roadmap will make up for it.

That's fine and all but when they have limited cosmetics/banners/badges tied to it - you're missing out on the fun unless you main survivor. I was very excited about the 10 year event because it's this huge milestone. To see it extremely one-sided is very disappointing.
I'm pretty disappointed with all of this too, honestly. But I feel like we're just beating a dead horse at this point if it's impossible for them to make changes now.
-
I agree with her. Putting the unfairness of the event aside, I don't really get all the fuss. It's a limited time event that no one is forced to play. They just failed to deliver on the fun of the concept they had in mind, and I don't think the constant harsh criticism since the event dropped serves much purpose anymore. They'll take the feedback, hopefully learn from it and do better in the future. We can move on. It's all good.
-
Claire and Leon. Besides being my favorites, they're real survivors.
-
The 10mil helped me level up my Leon and get his portrait. I normally don't spend blood points on prestiging.
-
Wishing him a speedy recovery and good health.
May this period pass quickly and may he come back healthy, and feeling stronger and better than ever.
-
Fight or flight... I know the panic and fear that takes over the body during a missile attack. Sometimes it feels like almost like a superhuman, the way the body reacts in moments of danger. I would run like crazy and probably even jump over high fences - something I normally wouldn't do. 😅
-
Pretty much what you said, anything that can make the game miserable for others.
I've had a few cases where to this day, I'm not sure if they were intentionally toxic, except for one player.
They were playing Doctor, body-blocked in a corner and kept shocking me over and over. During the endgame collapse, they kept giving me hope that they wanted me to escape through the gate, but then used his power to stop me from opening it. They refused to hook me until I opened the gate, then moried me there.
The thing I hate most is when players waste someone else's time like this. That also includes closing the hatch in a Survivor's face after carrying them over there. -

Ngl I find it funny you view survivors as resources XD
Not really, I just like to see them in blue. 😅
-
The saturation isn't that great. I like to use colors based on category so I can easily remember what I'm looking at or searching for.
Pallets and Survivors are blue - blue represents temporary resources.
Windows and gens are green - green is safety.
Hooks/downed Survivors, and the Killer are red.
Other auras are white, except for marked objects which are yellow. -
I think she's less obnoxious in this mode because there's a lot going on in the background, and she has to switch between Survivors; so you don't really have to be as careful against her as you would in a normal game.

well. Apparently they are not taking action according to @IzziBane s experience. So would be nice to have official confirmation if its a reportable offense and Action should be taken or not..
I think it's fair to say they do take action but experiences can vary. And yeah, it would be helpful to have official confirmation on this.

yeah. I would agree.
But BHVR used to say that targetting needs to take place over multiple matches to count as targetting in the first place
The main thing is that they take action.
I admit that I didn't report players outside the game due to a lack of video evidence, and perhaps I'm part of the reason these players are still around. 😅 -

is it even a reportable offense?
Like.. wasnt it said that griefing has to take place over several instances/matches to Count as griefing? And its also not holding the player hostage as there is an eventual end to their match..
Just asking (not you but generally) if its worth it to report this, if its covered by the actual rules. Not that i think it shouldnt be reportable but i remember that some of these rules were already very questionable..
Targeting and ruining the game for others is part of griefing. I don't see why it wouldn't be reportable.

Always take all the information you have and report them. One less troll is better.

Artist because her chase music is like nails on a chalkboard for me. Makes me want to play with no audio.
I couldn't have said it better. I can't play as her or against her because of this.
-
You're brave for posting this. I'll join since I've never shared my controversial opinions about them publicly. 😅
Chucky. The idea of him being a threat just feels silly to me. He's so small and supposed to be a threat, but survivors can't kick him or interact with him properly just doesn't make any sense. I also dislike his voice. I haven't seen the movie, so I'll leave it at that.
On the survivor side, Vee and Thalita. They seem happy to be in the fog and their animations feel Fortnite-like. -
I usually play normally and see what can be done with the others in that situation. I don't go out of my way to draw the Killer attention to that specific Survivor, since I know some players prefer that playstyle or might be trying to complete a challenge.
-
I enjoy playing Survivor because of the variety of interactions.
Aside from DBD, it's mostly single-player games since most PvP games feel too competitive for me. -
The interaction shows up once you move or crouch. It seems like there's a delay with Survivor interactions and bots can probably bypass it.🤔
-
What makes this game unique is that the survivors don't have weapons. It would lose its identity if they ever got one.

It's pretty hard to judge by the numbers alone because they don't show how the chase ended. Were you downed or did you escape? Did the chase actually end or did it just register that way becuase you made distance, even though the killer was still pursuing you? Did you waste enough time in the right area for key gens to get done? My longest chase for the last 30 days is 1 min 8s but I couldn't tell you what happened there. For all I know, it was a friendly killer I was farming with. Or I might have dragged the killer all over the map, startling everyone off their gens and achieving nothing. I wouldn't worry so much about time as a sole factor.
I took stats from Survivors I played with once or a few times in one day, and in all of those games I got downed. I have recordings of the last few matches, in one a gen reached maybe 30 - 50% progress. In second match, a full gen got done.
I guess wasting time for 20-30 seconds is good enough? -
Right now it seems that portraits for purchased cosmetics are more likely to happen. I would prefer that personally.

Its the line of sight on the pods. You usually benefit more on maps that are open to use them effectively and it also makes it harder to disable them when you can place them higher. He is not bad in indoor maps where you have chokepoints but in The Game and Lery's there is way too many ways to move around so you can't have pods on all those places and if survivor knows where it is they can just go around. Its also easier to disable the pods as you have to place them lower as there is not that much elevation in indoor maps. Another thing is that he also relies on line of sight to use the teleport and in indoor maps its easier to get around objects and walls to prevent him from using it.
Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense now.
-
I'm curious since I've never played him and always find him difficult to go against. Why do you think indoor maps are the worst for him? I always assumed the opposite.
-
My favorite time was when the Resident Evil chapters were released. The game felt so different to me, at least until the hype died down.
Other than that, nothing really - but I'm happy with the small quality of life changes we got, like aura color customization and the prestige rewards. It feels lackluster since we didn't get much for so long, but there's still so much they can do in the future.
