I played with 3 survivors and I'm guessing they were friends.
The first survivor gave up the game when he was on the hook, he started to kill himself on the first hook.
The others did the same thing.
I went to save the last one although I saw he was about to surrender his soul to the entity.
After the save, he went to search for the killer position. making him hook him again.
The killer noticed what had happened and let me escape.
Some people don't want to play against a particular killer,
They feel like they have no chance etc.
But I still don't understand what makes them give up after the first hit or hook. it does not mean that you're not going to make it at the end.
-
They are interested in hearing their fans but quite late, especially when the damage has already been done.
It is possible that all cosmetics will continue to exist even if the price level drops to 10%.
Change can be caused if they change all of their conduct and decisions in the office.
They need to learn to communicate better.
In my opinion they don't want to be dependent on the opinion of the fans,
probably from the fear that some of them are teens and it may not be a good idea.
In general, they are a very strange company to me.
I was playing Paladins for a few years and they were similar to them when it came to bugs or changes.
But they talked to their fans and they cared about the quality of the game.
I guess DBD are planning to change the game and want to show everyone that they are making a good decision.
But the best way is by communication and less pricy things.
-
I can live with the new animations in peace. Except the walking animation.
The walk feels slower and the movement causes unexplained dizziness.
Besides, the animations feels completely different and probably need a rework especially the standing animation.
The new UI confusing especially when the state of the survivors needs to be checked.
Personally it takes me longer seconds to understand the meaning of the effects on their portraits.
-
The update made me play fewer hours, the hitbox, the slow animation made me feel a little annoyed and a need to take a break to do something else.
I can't wait for changes 😢
-
I've been a member of the game not so long ago since December. Recently I'm guessing the way they like to communicate with their community.
They seem to be a team who like to "surprise" with news but only on the date they planned to do so.
For months the community kept talking about colorblind option.
And just a few days ago they decided to post and announce that they have heard it all and they are working on it.
I get the feeling that they like to publish news when they feel it is right to do so.
And decide on new features despite what the community says, perhaps only because of future plans that only the team know about.
What I like the most is when games make contact or even just show that they are active on social media.
We don't know who is responsible for publishing news. They do need to change that for better communication.
-
I really hope that all the bugs in the game will be fixed.
All the toxicity and controversy comes from players who disagree that there is balance in the game.
Every update when there is a change for killers or survivors, the players think that it's something personal against the role they like to play.
It's a loop that will probably never end, because it depends on the player's experience and how they choose to deal with a win or a loss.
And this is how the games works.
Enjoy the game yourself, ignore mean players and if you want a good company by your side, join nice groups where people are looking to play together.
That's okay to take a break from the game if you need to.
-
Sometimes it feels like all three are correct.
I'm guessing the killers have a higher win rate.
-
Honestly the update is not bad at all if we put the bugs aside.
I love what's new and I'm excited about what's coming. They are planning improvements and probably new things as well. It will take them some time but there is hope.
I definitely see myself playing more and supporting Dead by daylight team.
No matter what, it is impossible to find such a unique game.
-
You're right about that. also, i noticed that the background effect changed to a lighter yellowish.
Before this update the graphics was a little darker. (I'm not sure if it's because my graphics are on low).
Maybe this is the issue, new background brightness / changes?
Anyway she is still pretty. ^^
-
I'm afraid that the survivors who were with you at the same match but afk, was trying to lower their rank.
Or they were low rank survivors, or they thought they have time to heal later or they want other survivor to take care of healing or saving.
I'm having same matchs sometimes and that's okay, solo is on our own.
Most importantly enjoy your game =)
You will find your ways to escape when you are the last survivor alive.

It's literally the killers objective to stop survivors from leaving so how is it unfair to prevent them from doing so? Unsure if you are trolling here.
I mean body block is unfair.
-
Please don't body block the hatch from a survivor who wants to escape, that's not fair.
The whole idea of the key is to escape early or late with it, people have to lose with dignity. otherwise where is the fun here?
If I'm the last survivor alive and have the key, I would rather have the killer chase me instead of body block the hatch from me to get another kill.
It's ruining my gaming experience in every way and if I play as a killer, I will not prevent the survivor from using the key in a fair way.
-
Most of the time it's not hard to play against the Doctor.
Everyone plays with him the same way, so we somehow knows how to react.
I never stand too close to gens at the start of the match, and when someone is on the hook I stand far just in case.
When he uses his ability to stop us from using a window or pallet, some choices has to be made to prevent him from doing so.
He can be fun killer to play against in my opinion.
I feel extreme pressure against Freddy and Spirit,
Because their abilities are very easy to catch survivors when they are least ready for it , and the better the killer harder the match.
We need a very good counter against the Spirit.
And with Freddy, we need to change the way we play and risk ourselves a lot to try to win.
-
If you have difficulty hearing the game, check the sound settings on your computer. sometimes the game volume is changed to low.
Also, if you don't use earphones, it is highly recommended to use them for better sound.
If you are using earphones, check them with other games or videos.
Happened to me many times that my earphones sound was very low until they no longer worked. I hope this is not the problem you have.

About perks,
Depends on your play style and how you like to play in general.
Personally I like to arrange my perks especially for late game.
The perks can be:
Adrenaline, Soul Guard, Spine chill, Left Behind.
For team focus:
Diversion, Empathy, Borrowed Time, Bond. (You can change one or two perks for speed healing team etc)
To be careful from the killer:
Alert, Spine chill, Premonition, Lucky Break.
To be a little speedy and sneaky:
Dance With Me, Quick & Quiet, Lithe, Sprint Burst.
-
You can play with perks and eventually you will learn to dodge the killers who make it difficult for you.
The more you play with a particular killer, the more you learn to play against him over time.
Along with that, watch videos or streams of good Dead by daylight players. you will see tricks that you may have missed before.
-
I hope it helps ^^ have fun playing.
-
Almost any killer can be in the "OP" category as long as his abilities are without warning. for the survivor side.
For example, Hag trap, Michael Myers and Ghost Face.
It is not always possible to hear them or know if they are in the area (or appear in front of you and give you a heart attack).
As a survivor I can understand the feeling that it's not fair, when I can not hear the killer while he is hiding next to me and stalking me.
With Ghost Face happened to me many times that he sneaking up behind me even before I run and hop, I'm on the floor.
You're a good player and that's why the survivors see your favorite killer as OP.
-
Freddy is currently "OP" because he puts pressure from the first minute of the game, even without doing anything special.
And survivors have to change the way they play against him.
If you like playing as a particular killer, play him and do not apologize for it.
-
Stalking killers still having a good chance to catch the survivor with Spine chill.
Right now this perk is fair and helps the survivor to be alert. Especially if he has a hard time figuring out where the killer is, or when to leave the spot before it's too late.
Even in certain situations where the killer can see the survivors auras, the survivor can know how to defend himself, although the survivor only depends on guessing.
-
Field Of view perks can help Legion a little bit while he get stunned.
Nurse stun is a little similar but with practice you will find survivors still.
-
As a survivor, the game is boring if I was caught too soon and the whole team is struggling, and there is no time to do a gen.
Let's say the game ends in 3 or 4 minutes after waiting over 10 minutes for a match. such a situation really makes me feel some anger.
There is a difference between running and healing non-stop all match, and hiding and working on the gen and having different situations to face.
The second case is way better and fun, even if the killer is everywhere.
If everyone dies in less than 3 minutes a few times in a row...
Yes, there will be no desire to play as a survivor anymore.
-
There is concern that the new UI will confuse players during the game. For example to check how many generators are left, we need to look up. to check our teammates, we need to look far left.
There may be a situation where we may miss something in the background while we are checking what is happening and planing what to do.
Also, some players may not really notice that someone is injured. Because the mark is redish color around the portrait of the survivor.
It is not clear why the icons are far from each other.
There is controversy over the issue of the hook numbers as well.
Some say it's not a good feature for killers who likes tunneling.
This can be an advantage to the killer and a disadvantage to the survivors.
-
I am very curious to try the new UI and see the new animations.
Maybe it's not really as horrible as players think.
-
A lot of people are still asking for more Silent Hill content.
I have never played Silent Hill game but if it is a nostalgic and unforgettable game like The Sims 2 for example, it will never get old.
-
Survivors.
Late game escape build: Spine chill, Adrenalin, Resilience, Soul guard.
Aware build: Spine chill, Premonition, Alert, Lithe
-
A few weeks ago I found a streamer using cheats in game.
He counted how many times he got banned and it was more then 20 times. and he came back with the cheat.
I watched his whole live stream to see if something happens, after 5 or 6 games he got bannd.
They end up blocking such users as long as a lot of people report.
Luckily cheaters are rare.

The killer is Human, female
Nationality: American
Time period: Victorian Era
Backstory: Understandable
Their power based on: Spiritual. (Using evil spirits)
Manipulation but explained: The killer has the ability to infect survivors by sending an evil spirit inside their body.
Evil spirit causes the survivor to scream and move uncontrollably every a few seconds. The survivor will see spirit figures on windows and an illusion pallets and survivors. The effect will disappear when the survivor finds the holy water and drinks it.
First perk: Obsession
Second perk: Terror Radius
Made up third perk: "Evil Spirit" (The heartbeat of the survivor is accelerated as long as they are possessed with evil spirit. )
-
I keep the chat closed and I usually forget it exists.
I'm sorry you had to deal with these people's disgusting behavior. I wonder if it will be possible to block players in the future.
It's best to try to forget about these bitter people and just enjoy your game.
After all you are playing your role and that's the point.
-
My play time is 169.5 hours.
My survival rank changes between 10 to 9. I'm not playing as a killer anymore.
What keeps me in the game is just its style and idea. If the game had not been unique, I would not have stayed.
The game is currently lacking in interesting stuff and exciting news that will make us find a good reason to play today.
I got 41 achievements so far and I want to join my first event on the game or some kind of battle pass that I'm used to from other games.
I saw people say that a few years ago DBD did events with nice things. As a relatively new player I would be very happy to see more this year, since I got nothing but a sweater.
-
I'm pretty disappointed that the devs are very slow when it comes to new things.
But other than that, I love what I see and own in the game. I see myself playing this game for more months.
-
I learned from streamers that whenever you see a survivor with a key, try to find him first or try to put pressure on the team.
It can work if you keep an eye on 3 gens that close to you while the survivors want to work on them.
Avoid long chase with a survivor who manages to elude you a little too much.
I suggest you to use Leatherface's perks Franklin's Demise.
As a survivor this is one of the most annoying perks to go against and makes me have a hard time getting back to the specific place or hope that someone will notice what fell there. if we play solo this can be problematic because the item can be consumed by the entity after a while.
-
Mori can feel not fair at all.
I'm afraid DbD will not remove this idea.
-
I play with Cheryl all the time and she is a character who can support the obsession survivor the most.
She can see them injured and they can see her back. same when she is injured.
Blood Pact perk can help you a lot in the game, as long as the obsession takes it to his favor.
Soul Guard is excellent in many situations and can save you a lot.
But you better be careful with that and don't stand in front of the killer so that he will hit you again. there will be players who will guess you are using Soul Guard, and will wait for the timer to end to hit you again.
I use Soul Guard the most when i want to protect my teammates.
For example someone uhook me and the killer is coming behind them.
Instead of running to another direction and leaving the survivor behind, I immediately stand in front of the survivor and make the killer hit me again.
I gain small speed boost while running away, and the other survivor manage to run away to without taking a hit that may could take them down.
This trick can help you especially when you are on the verge of escaping.
-
You are going to have fun if you like to work with your teammates.
-
Shadowborn or Plague:
I think The Plague is worth more. you are going to get 3 perks that actually can help you differently, and may give you more benefits in the match. also, she is way better then Wraith.
-
You can level up Wraith and eventually get his perk for all of your characters and have fun with it.
-
The two roles are difficult perhaps in a slightly different way, but you experience different pressure.
I suggest you to switch to a position where you feel less stressed, enjoy the atmosphere of survival and do not trust your team 100%.
Because you can never know if they're playing seriously, if they're going to save you or kill themselves on the first hook or DC, because they don't want to play with that killer.
Trust yourself and plan your game carefully.
With or without them you can escape, as long as you do it right. And with that, you enjoy and don't feel disappointed because of them.
I’ve had a lot of games like that when the survivors gave up too soon, or didn’t help whoever needed to.
They made mistakes, ran too early to save someone.
Were in front of the killer when he used a saw that could take them all down with one hit.
I have experienced such disappointing games but I didn't let it affect me adversely or be disappointed that I bought the game.
I just always say "I play my way. It's not my fault what they did."
-
I also suggest you close the chat to avoid texts from mean players.
If you're playing a killer, and there's a mean survivor who Tbag you,
Don't get angry and remember that it can be to your advantage. You can take him down while he wastes his time.
If all the survivors have escaped and they are at the exit gate, don't go to them. Save yourself from seeing them act like fools.
Take a break from the game if you feel like you need to.
Play a match or two with friends only. only 5 of you having fun with custom games.
Or find nice people to play with, there are some of them around.
-
I hope you continue to enjoy the game and that no one will ruin your experience.
I would even love to play with you, I play for fun.
-
Maybe not everyone is going to agree with that, but I think players who have a hard time finding survivors
They will have a bit of a hard time using her skill during a chase.
They will need to hear well and pay attention to moving grass and scratch marks.
When they will be better at chases and at effective use of her ability. Yes, they will have easy games.
-
When i played against Legion for the first time, i had no idea that i needed to mend.
And I was confused to see the timer until i was on the floor.
I think it should stay that way, for new players and for stressful situations.
If we think about a situation where The legion is chasing a survivor while they have Deep wounds, and the timer is still ticking.
The option left for the survivor is to run and try to break line of sight. it's not easy for everyone and they will end up on the floor while being chased. Deep wounds will feel very annoying and quite unnecessary.
-
They published a survey and the possibility of more mods was there. Could it be that they are thinking about it?
I hope so, it can be more fun.
-
I've been playing as a survivor for a long time, what sometimes happens is that survivors t-bagg at the gate while the killer is looking at them.
It's so unnecessary and makes me feel bad for the killer who may have a hard match.
About the chat, there was one killer who wrote "ez" and a smily face.
I wrote "nice game" as if i was pretending i didn't know they was too arrogant.
I keep my chat closed just in case and in the game I'm trying not to take their behavior personally.
-
I guess the game would have been more interesting with special events, rewards and new mods.
For example Identity V is the game where the developers pampers its fans, with several mods, Gacha for cosmetics and events.
DBD can be exciting if they are going to add one of these things every month at least.
Personally I'm not bored yet, I try to enjoy every detail.
But yes, there are times when I feel tired of the game being unbalanced.
I hope for a good change in the new update.
-
Nurse, The hag, Michael myers, The nightmare, Oni, Plague.
Mostly these killers, as long as i face good players.
I never won against Oni and The Nightmare, they are definitely so annoying to play against.
But to tell you the truth, if a killer takes me down in a single hit, it's really going to be a game that is unlikely to survive.
-
I started playing a few weeks ago and I love the game. Playing at every opportunity I can.
The suggestions I'm about to say may sound like a new player, but that's actually my opinion as a survivor.
Windows and pallets are not enough to escape from a good killer. I think survivors should have at least half a speed that killers have.
So survivors who are not so good at chasing can be saved for a while, rather than being caught for less than 6 seconds.
Last is to remove the chat from the game, and instead add option to like survivors who really helped that match.
-
One last thing, lower the price of Shards to buy characters and cosmetics.
For example 5000 instead of 9000 Shards.
-
From what I understand, afk killers are standing there just to get free points or to kill survivors once they don't expect it. easy kills for them when the survivors are watching them standing.
In case i play against afk killer, i finish the game as fast as possible but still enjoying it. finding a chest and taking an object for free and then leaving.
It is wrong to get such a match after waiting more than 10 minutes though.

Take it from a person that's always in the end trying to be the nice killer.
I honestly start using ebony Mori's now to know when someone is on death hook and don't kill them.
What I do when I notice that I have teams like you described - is just ignore them and go look around at the map; enjoy some time to yourself.
That way you're not losing whatever points you might've made and you aren't being the jerk in the situation.
Never feed the trolls kids; and those that will consider what I'm saying " gives them what they want " - I say bull. If they're being mean then they clearly want to make you suffer. Just ignore them and get some ideas of how to move as certain killers around maps. As huntress too, I'd be practicing my gen shots. ( Get a long good angle and hatchet someone on a generator. ) It's pretty funny.
Otherwise; I suggest not playing killer. I've had way too many rude games - but I still tried regardless. I will always try for those that just want to have a good time.
You are right.
I still wonder if it's fun to play as the killer, because the player will always feel pressure and difficulty against 4 people.
Sometimes i want to play as a killer and just let the players work on the gens. i played against someone who done this. we all hid and he just "nodded" and let us work and escape.
I'm currently enjoying being a survivor. Someday I'll think about how to play as a killer, but my way. =)

@Anniehere About 5 months ago, I was where you are. I got the game because my son plays this game. He's a killer main and I thought I'd do the same. I started with Trapper. Honestly, he's good at learning basics of being a killer. There is an added benefit that someone caught in the traps will notify you where they are and for a short time, they can't move (until they free themselves.)
However, after my failed attempts at killer, I started playing survivor. That honestly helps a lot because you learn how the other side works and how they operate. One of my first games as survivor I got paired with a rank 20 killer who had all the good perks (BBQ, Nurses Calling, Pop Goes the Weasel, forget the 4th, but all of these are from different killers.) There was no way a rank 20 killer should be going against players with less than 10 hours game time, heck, I probably had less than 5 hours game time and most of that was tutorial time. The matchmaking is terrible.
Give yourself time. Learn to play survivor. Watch videos. Especially videos on how to loop, because that will be one of the biggest issues for yourself as a killer. I'm a purple rank survivor and I'm still not good at looping, but getting better.
When I was a rank 18 killer, I had a rank 10 mock me post game chat for how much I sucked and how ez it was. I responded, and said yes, he should have wiped the floor against me, because he was 8 ranks better. Told him, he wouldn't last long against a rank 2 killer either. There are a lot of toxic players. Almost every game, be it killer or survivor, I type GG in the chat. (unless the killer tunnels or face camps.) And when I play against new killers (be it new to the game or new to that specific killer) I try to be encouraging in the chat, especially if all 4 survivors got away.
Typically, my last game of the night is as a friendly killer. I try to approach the survivors, and show that I'm not a threat. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I usually get to chase them, and let them pallet stun me, flashlight blind me, and I break pallets and hit them once. Not enough to down them. Getting them to understand is difficult and sometimes doesn't work. I have had several matches were they let me hook them. Heck, had one match where 2 of the survivors let me death hook them! (that only happened once.) I find it nice to go to bed on a good game than a stressful game. And playing killer IS stressful.
Good luck. Playing killer is difficult and often painful. Build a thick skin and try not to get emotional in the game. Keeping calm helps you to think and play better.
I'm sorry you played against toxic people so many times. . this is the only reason why my chat is always closed and why i never use or check it before and after a match.
I appreciate your answer and i will take what you said to my attention.

@BioX said:
soooo you expect to be good at a game right away and if you are not you get sad?
Of course not. In the first match as a killer I had no idea if the game is going to be difficult. And I didn't expect the survivors to mock me at the exit instead of just escape. What made me sad was their attitude and bad luck. I don't mind losing.
