Also, I am disappointed in you, my child. Franklin's, while a great troll perk, is not how you disgrace flashlight swf. Lightborn will make many more opportunities for you and in turn, deny theirs.
I am sorry this happened to you. I will ruin at least one swf's experience in your honor and continue this cycle of hate or my name is not the Bodhisattva!
Thanks for your kind words. I must say, breathing in the toxic fumes of hate that emanate from you has a way of uplifting and invigorating my killer spirit. Thanks, that was what I needed.
I will embrace your teachings of peace through toxicity and the ending of strive through the twofold aspect of The Tunnel and The Camping. I was blind, but this group of SWF ripped the veil from my eyes and I should thank them for it.
There shall be more sweat, but also salty tears. Many more salty tears.

It's like people saying we should bring back old undying because COH is busted. Old undying was busted and reintroducing it now means you have 2 busted perks instead of just 1.
But people are suggesting exactly that :D

That is hilarious, my sister was just talking about how we need a Fatal Frame collab. And I also appreciate Rin's butt. We have so much in common, Akuma.
Awwww, so wholesome :) And yeah, we also share our love for recreational Bubba-ing if things seem gloom and the world needs just a big smile in its darkest places --- like the basement! There is nothing like a basement party where everyone comes together to just hang out and chill.

I think it is important to find a killer you relate to and have fun with unconditionally. You have so much passion for Spirit and I am certain there is a correlation there. If they ever made it so that I couldn't enjoy Bubba even under the worst circumstances, I have to admit, perhaps I would be a negative Nancy like a lot of other killers. It is important to find your bae.
This is pretty wholesome and I can relate. You got your Bubba, Gannman got his Spirit, and I ... I am still on the fence, I play lots of Legion, Oni, Pinhead and Nemesis, but my two most played killers are definitely Pyramid Head and Demogorgon. Gosh, Demo is just so awesome, with all the fun noises he makes and the extremely fun shred ability and then PUFF you disappear off to the complete other side of the map to chase someone off a near forgotten gen. And when you are fed up with a string of bad games you just slot in his double iris and go as toxic as it gets, hunting down all those survivors hiding behind flimsy bushes and dumb walls and flimsy colums.
But I still consider Pyramid Head my main. I just love his aesthetic and while his kit is a bit finicky to use, survivors are so scared of your big sword that they basically run through any pallet without throwing it down. And if you feel like it you can play as toxic as you want and avoid all the fun little perks. I mean, its just lore-accurate roleplaying, the game describes him as "a sadistic and merciless executioner", so thats what I do.
Both this killers speak a lot to me, and with Demo-boi I am pretty sure that they wont suddenly nerf him brutally ... but never say never!

No way!!!! For real?

I wish Spirit was strong. I would have a Spirit icon on if she were halfway decent. She is basically like Wraith, if he was blind. Why people actually believe she is good is beyond me, but I am glad they have fun with her. I am actually super jealous.
Blind Wraith? Yeah, that actually describes her gameplay pretty well. At least you don't pump into car wrecks and trees while hunting, but you definitely need some luck in order to stumble into a survivor, while they hear you going all "UwU" from 24m away.
At least I always start my trials in high spirit as the camera is dead-set to frame Rins behind from really close. Maybe thats some "Fatal Frame" spoof? Or a hidden hint that we will get a Kirie Himuro skin, soon? Ohhh that would be so exciting if it was true and I called it here, first :D

Oh, man... I ran into a TTV as a Pyramid Head committed to tunneling. I had to put on a show for their viewers. I beat them on hook for awhile and apparently they were a swf, because they did everything they could to stop me and it ended with a 4 man bleedout and a DC from the solo. I felt bad while I did it, but I needed to meme.
I am still trying to figure out if you are just acting your role or if you are just the super chad killer. Either way i once again applaude you :)
-
Yes, but actually no.
Here is the Dark of it: while most TTV peeps are just like everyone else, and a lot of them are actually quite chill and nice people, there is a perchant for getting into more sweaty and toxic games with TTVs. The reason is twofold I think.
1) TTV probably are good gamers and take gaming serious enough that they are confident enough to stream it. Of course not all TTVs fall into this categorie, but the chances are way higher then with some randoms.
2) and this is the meat of the whole affaire, TTVs are content providers, and might be interested in humoring their audience and provide a good show. And assembling a toxic bully squad that shows every trick in the book in order to deny the killer is a good way to satisfy a certain audience. After the third or so utterly aweful TTV bully-squad-experience some killers might decide to just dodge lobbies with TTV names in them, just because they don't wanna sweat the next game, be humiliated or even taken the game sorta hostage.
I do it myself rather regularly. Sometimes I am in an all-commers mood and don't shirk away from a challenge, so I don't mind the chance that the next trial might be seriously taxing and tough. Some other time though I might just wanna chill and not play too serious, so I don't wanna roll some loaded dice on the matter, but just try my normal luck.
Once again, TTV players aren't inherently sweaty or toxic, but they try to entertain their audience and are most of the time some serious gamers, so you need to be in the right mood in order to stomach a tough as nails game. But if I ever see you I will give you a fair match :) Pinky-Promise.

Hello and welcome. Strap on and be ready for a ride into the uncanny, as this forum here is most definitely blessed (cursed) be The Entity, sapping away everyones hope, yet leaving us with just enough of a sliver to go on. But take a cookie and have a seat ^^
-
Lore-wise The Entity doesn't care so much about the sacrifices itself, but for the eroding and slowly desolving of hope, be it the survivors that they yet die again, or the Killer who completed yet another, pointless sacrifice.
Most, if not all, will eventually burn out and lose all hope, only to be discarded by The Entity and be replaced by new ones.
I can tell you that Hillbilly is pretty close to losing his last sliver of hope, as are the Twins, and Jake and Quentin might also be on their last leg, judging by how often they embarc on a trial. Feng, Claudette and Meg, though are so high spirited, they might be the first ones that would just not be broken. Which intrigues The Entity to no end, compelling it to send this three on even more trials and tribulations.
-
I still would want a checkmark box for head / body / weapon slots as you prestige, and have a somewhat general blood shader effect be applied to all cosmetics, not just the default ones.
Its kinda disheartening to prestige when you already got a more interesting cosmetic, maybe from an event, maybe bought with shards, unlocked. It feels kinda pointless and limited.
I also give a strong vote for all perks being automatically upgraded to your prestige level, so a p3 would only find purple perks etc. This would at least give some incentive to prestige your characters and help lessen the immense grind.
I remember that I didn't get any of my usual perks when I p3ed my Pyramid Head, like non at all, until I was 5-6 levels beyond lvl 50. Not eveb a yellow BBQ. The grind was brutal and totally disheartening.

Why do I feel like the devs are just gonna add hooks to all these abusable spots before they change this perk to something that promotes healthier gameplay?
Well, killers have been calling for hooks in this places for a long time, so that would actually be a healthy change.
-
I am sometimes baffled by The Entities judgement. There are games where I get a few hooks and play aggressively, but tube survivors are just too stronk and I get a "displeased" rating.
Then another match I find myself some nice farming survivors, fool around, get max chase, but don't hook a single soul and wave them goodbye after opening the gate for them, and walking away with a "brutal killer" rating.

From what? They got a new toy but it can't just cripple the killer's knees?
It's too much on top of everything else, and players with decency and some common sense will notice that this is a teeny tiny bit over tuned. The wriggle effect alone would warrant the usage perk, but the +25% bonus for taking two steps at once at a staircase makes it a broken perk.
Its so overturned that the common practice is to slug anyone who wields it, sorta defeating its purpose. Instead of diversifying the stale survivor meta by elevating a mediocre perk to usability, its indeed so strong in its niche, that you will 95% not be able to play out its strengths because you get preemptively slugged, so it will get shelved again, after a few tests runs, and everyone is back to DH, DS, IW, BT, Unbreakable, CoH or maybe another exhaustion perk for variety.
-
No, its a tactical choice. A tactic born from the circumstances that this perk is a bit over tuned right now and some people even abuse it. I have had a few gentlemen agreements with survivors, who wriggled left and right on the floor, while bleeding out. These I would pick up and they wouldn't wriggle on their way to the next hook. I only ever got betrayed twice, but these players got thrown on the ground to bleed out.
The slugging pandemic surrounding Boil Over is a victim of its own success: you have a decent chance to wriggle out of the killers grasp on und way to a medium far hook, so the killer might more often then not NOT risk it. I have noticed a sizable decline in Boil Over usage. The storm blew over and things normalize afterwards... But for the entirely wrong reasons! Boil Over is now strong enough that it could replace one of the established meta perks, but its invalidating killers core gameplay, so they slug to prevent its usage.
No one likes that, so its usage already died down... and we are back to the stale meta.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Playing Boil Over is a strategy. If you dont like it, your problem.
So is getting thrown on the ground and getting slugged, once the killer notices the red horse icon in the lower right.
I think that a lot of killers did so, because I noticed a big decline in the Boil Over usage. Probably not because the perk wasn't working as intended, but probably being a victim of its own success.

Yeah, until you get burnt by trying them out :)
I love Pinhead and Pyramid Head, they are both pretty cool, and Demo-dog is probably my most played killer now, he is just so much fun to play. So sad that new players can't acquire him anymore.
Freddy and Myers are the only chapters that I am missing, and I am reluctant to buy them, because they are both apparently a bit too busted right now.

@Aurelle said:
Here I am talking about Boil Over (again).
I have been using Boil Over a lot recently (mainly to see how it affects matches) and I noticed that every time I run it the killers will camp me on first hook, tunnel me, or slug me to death. Like I know it's an annoying perk and everything, but most maps I get and most places that I get downed it doesn't even make a difference. I don't even bring perks to pair with it.
Killers must really hate this perk if seeing someone bring it causes these reactions.
Ok, here is my story: when the new Boil Over released I got lots of instances, where the survivor managed to wriggle free. I don't mean the broken stuff like RCPD, but tube maps that are a bit lower on the hook density.
Wriggling off on your own should obly be possible if the killer greeds a certain far-off hook, either to proc their Scourge Hooks, a better BBQ overview or because they want to set you up inside their 3gen fortification etc.
But Boil Over, together with a good string of wriggle checks can be enough on its own, if its a medium far travel to the next hook, making it nearly a guarantee if another survivor bodyblocks or sabos this hook.
And invalidating a chase is strong! Really STRONG! It can be downright devastating. Against four competent survivors you are already fighting an uphill battle and must quickly and decisively work out an advantage for you, so wriggling off is no "lulz, there he goes" moment.
The first few hours were especially grim and I lost countless rathet random hooks to this, because everyone and their mother was running Boil Over.
And then something else happened: killers wised up to this, and once they spotted the red horse icon of doom, and there was no hook right at your tile set, they would just relinquish their hold on the survivors and slug them.
It's a tactic born out of sheer necessity; slugging for me is only marginally more fun then for the slugged survivor, but letting the survivor wriggle off with a good chance is even worse.
I guess the tactic spread, as only a few survivors run Boil Over now and went back to their trusty 6 or 7 meta perks. I had a few instances were the slugged survivor would frantically start wriggling on the floor, and 9/10 this was a sort of gentlemens agreement: "I won't struggle and wriggle off your shoulder and you just hook me instead of letting me bleed out". I was only betrayed twice, and this two stayed on the ground till they bleed out.
But you see? This again is a "victim of your own success" problem. If you are so strong at your game that the opposition has no chance of winning, then they won't oppose you on your chosen play field, but will try to chose a different means of engagement, invalidating your perk in the process. That's why you only give slight percentages, not massive bonuses, or else you will never get the opportunity the try out your fun toys.

You think VHS and Propnight are going to overthrow Dbd? Both of those games are ok but your high if you think either of those games will take over.
They ARE fun, but will they grow big enough to attract fun licenses themselves?
This is one of DBDs strongest selling points, which makes it even more frustrating that they are so sluggish in their patching and hot fixing patterns.
-
My experience and feeling is, that the big Boil Over storm just blew over. Not because the perk isn't strong and working exceptionally well or most survivors decided against using it because they want a challenge, but exactly because the perk IS working as advertised and you can sometimes even wriggle free on your own with propositionally higher chances when their survivor friends bodyblock the hook.
Because of this a lot of killers (myself included) will just slug anyone who goes down in a remote area with propositionally higher chances if we spot that red horse icon in the lower right corner.
It sucks, for me its probably just less unfun then for the slugged survivors, but this is 100% a direct response to the aweful first hours of the first contact with the new Boil Over perk.
And now the question will be: will BHVR address the problem by tuning down this whole affair, or will they somehow devise a system that punishes killers for slugging too much?
You always get he carror and the stick. But using the stick too much will not help you each and every time. Most killers would go for 12 hooks, if the game allowed for it, but unless you are fighting potatoes that's not going to happen.
Camping, Tunneling and Slugging are all techniques that evelved directly in response to survivors getting stronger and better at looping. Just imagine a world without DH. More chases would end faster, killers could pressure more gens, less killers would see 2 gens pop during their first chase and would feel less pressured into tunneling.
This is just a thought experiment, and of course tunneling would not got away entirely, but the Camping, Tunneling and Slugging epidemic that many survivors bemoan right now are to a big part happening, because the killers are figuratively with their backs against the wall. In order to get any measure of success they have to employ these tactics, and the more these tactics get employed, the more discontent and salty the survivor community gets.
Circling back: with their backs against the wall you can employ the stick again and devise mechanics that punish killers for using these tactics, but if Camping and Tunneling and Slugging is taken away, what is then left for a killer to fight back? Eating 12 pallets and looping for two minutes due to second chance perks and other mechanics or... just leaving the game behind.
Strong killer players can still pull of wins in todays environment, but we shouldn't look at Otz or Coconut or Tofu and balance against their skills. Don't leave your average Joe Killer in the dust, otherwise survivors queues will just rise more and more.
-
Yeah, happens a lot these days. I had a few situations were I got a two really bad games against really sweaty teams, that literally destroyed me without any chance, and next game I play hard from the get - go and give no quarters, putting the fear of The Entity into that survivors hearts, drive them before me and make them my plaything, getting into a killing frenzy and hook and maim and trade and hook again! Raaargh! Until I suddenly realize that I must be slaughtering a group of babies, as they barely managed to finish one single gen :'( And yes, the end screen confirms it, as all had just two green perks and one yellow, one poor Dwight only had a single yellow Leader perk equipped.
Feels bad, but really, how should I know this? A lobby always looks more or less the same. Of course, P3 outfits can sometimes tipp you off, but even really experienced players might be running around in basic outfits, so the absence of P3 and fancy equipment is no indication that you got a group of baby survivors.

They don't care and I don't blame them. It's their game and do whatever they want.
You don't like it? Don't play. Simple.
Yeah, it's their game. But with them providing a service for which we pay, we as the customer can pretty much blame them, if they actually don't care.
In some businesses you have a sort of high roller, high-paying luxury upper crust that basically keep the whole operation floating, and you mostly cater to them and pamper their behinds, while the teeming masses get just enough, so that they won't complain too much, but still cough up enough money to make it worthwhile.
A good example is flight business, where a first class ticket can easily cost as much as 10x the price of an ordinary ticket. First class people can chose between 4-6 high class main courses food and order as much as they want, all flight long, while the normal peeps get two options, maybe 3 with a veggy option. Basically the whole flight caters to the 1st class peeps and making them happy, so that they continue to spend their big money.
Or gatcha games do the same, giving f2p players juuuuust enough to come by and stay in the game, and providing the whales with an audience for which they can flaunt their awesome collection and be admired, while the Whales keep the game running and the devs fed. Most mechanics favor the Whale players and their playing experience, while listening with one ear to the f2p crowd so that they get just enough so that they don't leave. (in case you don't know, gatcha games let you draw cards or digital pictures of characters, mostly in the anime style for money, and whales are the top dogs who sometimes spend 2-3k$ just to get the new character they want. In some cases even much more).
Back to DBD. Here we have an interesting situation: you got a pretty big population that's somewhat willing to spend some real world money for new chapters and cosmetics, but one part of the population is four times as big as the other, with both paying about as equal for their purchases.
So from a business standpoint it makes sense to mostly cater to that group, while only give the other one enough that they don't complain too much. BUT the big difference with DBD is that the less financial strong group is still vitally important to give the others a playing experience. Ideally you would need one killer per four survivors; well we don't know concrete numbers, but the killer numbers are probably much, much lower.
Many players suspect that the already stressful and demanding killer gameplay became more and more frustrating over the last couple of month or maybe half a year and that a lot of killer mains simple left because they felt totally ignored by the dev team. Well, you all know about this complaints and problems, I don't need to repeat all this stuff, but giving the killer population the feeling that they are second class players and that they are hit with nerfs and restrictions after nerfs and restrictions, while apparently the survivor side gets a lot of their concerns addressed, this didn't produce a good climate, and you can feel it in a lot of aspects of the game.

My biggest problem with the whole playing fun debate is that it's always centered around how the killer plays. The killer is the one that needs to obviously and purposely misplay in order to uphold it.
Survivors don't have to do anything. IMO, because there isn't really anything they can do that feels as directed or unfun as being camped or tunneled.
Though, I do think that the devs should step in and do things to address those kinds of tactics... among other ideas and changes that effect both sides.
This is a really good point. My playstyle gets disected and criticised ALL the time, and often harshly, but most survivors apparently can't see that their actions have reactions. Easiest is this: you t-bag me at every dropped pallet and macro-click your machinegun flashlight at me? Then I take this as an open invitation to tunnel you out of the game ASAP without any bad feelings.
Same if I get an early chase and quickly down the first survivor and think "wow, that was fast!", but then two gens pop because they brought 2 BNP and Commodius boxes. After this I usually don't hold back and play as sweaty and as dirty as I can muster, inevitably getting salt in the after-game chat for being a mean tunneler and camper.
The games in which everyone plays like in the ideal vision of the game are pretty rare, ie you hook someone, someones comes to the rescue while you are off to a distant gen. You get your first kill at 3 gens, second at 1 gen, then chase the last two between the gens till they either finish it off sneakily or you corner them. But this kind of games are the exeption, because survivors gen rush these days like mad. I can understand this to an extend: they are just using their survival tools to the best of their abilities, but in the process they become the victim of their own success.
-
I got hit by a lot of Boil Over today and they wriggeled off quite often. So I have developed this modus operandi: I pick them up, I notice the red horse icon on the lower right. Is there a hook pretty close? Ok, I will hook the survivor there. Is there a hook in medium range? I drop the survivor and chase the others that come for the rescue. I never slugged much before, but I must say, it got its perks. Its got a certain danger to it, because everyone can be picked up in 1s once they gathered their own strength, but everyone still goes down incredible easy.
I noticed that because of this the Boil Over pandemic is already dying down, the storm blew over, I guess? And when a slugged survivor wriggles left and right on the floor, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt that they won't betray my trust and I pick them up. But you get exactly one chance at this, if you wriggle on my shoulder after this, you get thrown down again, and then can slug till you bleed out.
I had one really sore loser in RPC. It was luckely a random map, no offering, so people didn't come prepared with Exponential and stuff, but it was still a nightmare. After a lot of sweat and a few lost years of my live I had three survivors killed, but the last one had Boil Over and was lying in a dead part of the map, where other survivors had already destroyed all the available hooks. This last survivor was on the ground for about 1min and wriggled left or right, so I picked her up and she started to wriggle on my shoulder. This repeated three times, because I was actually fed up with this trial and I tried a few more times to silently communicate with her. I guess she was pretty close to breaking free. Well, in the end I just sit there and watched her bleed out while she wriggled on the floor the whole time.
In the after game chat she and her team mates were just laughting their asses off and from their behavior I gleened that they were probably still kids who got lifetime to squander. Whatever, the Boil Over thing doesn't seem to be that bad, probably like with Lucky Break, but I still think that the base power is now strong enough and that the 25% from falling is just way too strong.
-
Yeah, its one of the "perks" of the SBMM / MMR system. While I understand that noobstomping is bad and not much fun for most people and in the past several new players never got a foot on the ground because they were always destroyed by much more experienced players, I still feel an overbearing sadness in my soul that you can't play good and competent without inevitable getting thrown into abusive match after abusive match.
For the longest while I played mostly fair and by the survivors playbook, but still managed a lot of 3-4k matches. This trend went on till most of my matches became miserable dbd worldcup playoffs match after match, day after day, and it wore me down. Things got a bit better lately, but I don't know if the matchmaking system got tuned, or if really so many killer players left the game that I also get matched with a decend size of the mid-mmr gamers.
And the trend in my games is this: if I play fair, the match mostly ends in a 0-1k. If I tunnel at 2 gens, I can often eek out a second kill, but not always. Sometimes this doesn't work at all and I end up with 0k. If I get fed up after a streak of bad, humiliating matches and I throw decency to the wind and tunnel the first player out, the match as a 3v1 becomes much more enjoyable and manageable for me, but at the detriment of another player .. and the after game chat never fails to remind me of what a horrible person I am.
And here we stand, making tunneling out the first player ASAP the best strategy to have fun. Yikes. I hate this, but this is the sad reality. One post on the dbd subreddit illustrates this perfectly. I am not the artist, though
-
I think BHVR would get so much more room for fun and interesting designs if they allowed perks to be blocked or altered for specific killers. DMS is fun on most, but problematic on Artist.
If "I am all ears" had a shorter cooldown it would be a very oppressive tracking tool on most killers, especially the ones who are a bit struggling ... but on Pyramid Head and Nurse it would be downright deadly.
So I would advocate to allow perks to be blocked or getting an alternative set of stats on problematic killers, while keeping things interesting on 95% of the roster.
-
@GlamourousLeviathan said:
I know that Boil Over has been problematic because of how abusable it is but what's the problem with Dead Man's Switch?
Its mostly an "Artist" problem, but no trivial one: Artist can comfortably facecamp a poor survivor while sending out crows at gens and hit survivors will let go of the gens for a splitsecond, allowing The Entity to take over. Its just disgustingly effective.

Survivors who are looking for this achievement should focus on that last generator. I've had a number of matches where the Killer was chasing that last Survivor, caught and hooked them, as I was finishing up the last gen. You can easily get to an exit gate and open it for the escape, as long as the Killer goes looking for the hatch. It is an extremely niche situation though. You have to play normally, then hope you can get the setup at the end.
Too many people aim for that hatch escape though. I've had post-game conversations with Killers who were a bit shocked that I finished the last gen instead of playing for the hatch. It's just how the game has evolved over the years. On the odd occasion, they'll give me the exit gate/hatch, just because I didn't quit trying until the end, or something along those lines. As long as you don't BM, and actively participate, there's a lot of Killers who will give you a break at the end.
There's also a lot who will just kill you, but really, that's what they're supposed to do so no harm there. Just have to work at it and when you're down to the last gen, don't play for that hatch. Keep on going and try for the exit gate. It's extra BP anyways, and that's what the game's about, right?
Thats some pretty good advice. One caveat is of course that the killer might just close the hatch when he finds it, thereby triggering the EGC and making it impossible to finish the last gen, but I guess this is still one of the better shots at getting this achievment done.
-
@FellowKillerMain said:
Unfortunately, to get this achievement now, you have to be a jerk survivor while the last generator is being repaired. Just go hide by the exit gate. When the gen finishes, hide until the other survivor is caught, then 99% the exit gate. Wait for the survivor to die, then leave. Sucks, but it's the only way I was able to do it.
Here is the thing: for this achievment you have to be the last man standing, then finish the last gen and then escape through the gate. With the old hatch, you could 99% the gen, then everyone leave and you finished and had a shot at the exit gate. Now its next to impossible without some help from a friendly killer.

The closest I've gotten is 1 second left on the gate twice against a really competitive Hunter and a really competitive Billy.
Edit: Left 4 dead requires you to go through the gate. :(
I know that you got to leave through the gate. Thats why I thought standing on the hatch would dissuade some enterprising survivor to look for a less dangerous escape route. Well, you can only try to do so much for your karma counter :D

Richtig.

I've defended both sides. I play killer too, so I do want a balanced game. Even if some people on here think otherwise.
Of course I was joking, and even if at times you seem a bit survivor sided, I appreciate your balanced stance in this matter :)

This happens on both sides.
I am shocked! You are sorta defending the killers side? What is this, a sign of he apocalypse? :>

Killer entitlement, complaining about survivors when killers have an over 70% winrate...
Lol quality bait.

At the very least Jeff the Killer would make a good Legion skin. But I only know the lore behind him rudimentary, if even that.

Guys. BHVR did at least something right this patch. They made some really bad perks kinda viable (again). They changed some insanely useless Killer and Survivor Addons, so we can have more diversity in our matches with more viable perks. Thats great!
If they "remove" the ability from Survivors to dodge hits, how should Survivors be able to win?
Overall the patch is good in my opinion. They did some things right and instead of flaming and complaining, we should be kinda thankful and happy for that, because we all know, that not only BHVR but also other Game Developer Teams from other Games can do unusual crappy things to their games and therefore we should just stop complaining and instead try to help the devs finding the right path of future features and changes.
Imagine you are a developer and read through the forum posts and like everyone is saying: "omg, such a bad patch again! i will never come back again." xd
Happy Devs/Dev Teams = Better Game = Happy Players =)
I like this approach and POV. Yes, the only way to break up the stale meta is to elevate other perks into viable status. Though, the criticism of Boil Over, and that it was more then a bit too much, is valid, too.
Balancing is never easy and always an, well, balancing act. But there is this feeling, that a lot of killer players collectively share, that the game has strayed into the survivors favor, and not just a bit, but far, far, far too much. If the game was relatively well balanced, this wouldn't be too bad and you could easily live with an overtuned perk, but in this situation and environment its quite literally adding insult to injury and sending more and more killer mains over the edge, so that they think "why even bother?"
But yes, its a good thing that they zry to elevate some old and dusty perks, the more strong options there are, the less likely we will see the same 6 perks over and over and over again.
But it would also be nice to get some meaningful QoL or even strength buff for killers, instead of adding more and more stones in their way.

Killer is meant for people who want to use dirtiest possible strategy to make the life of survivors miserable as possible, not for usual people.
"Survivor main who never so much as touched killer gameplay and projects his darkest emotions and contempt on the other side, instead of trying to find a mutually agreeable way" spotted.

I get the toggle option. But what is run to cancel exactly?
Is this to prevent you from accidentally canceling someone else healing you or something? Give an example of what would be the point of having it on and off.
Run to cancel means that you cancel the action you are performing simply by running. This is usually best done when repairing a gen, and you see a glimpse of the killer, then you don't need to do anything fancy but start running in order to break loose of the gen.

I honestly think the game would be better off if they just removed map offerings altogether.

You know what's a pretty similar feeling? You think you finally got 'em and your hard work will finally be rewarded with about 1/9 of your win condition and then BAM, they DH away, invalidate your hit and heal under the soothing light of some boon while 2 gens pop in the serene background.

Getting yet another outplay wholly invalidated because yet another survivor pressed E.
I can't up vote this enough. It's so disheartening to have this happen time and time and time again.
You do a good chase, win you mind games, close the distance, you strike, they scream, blood splatters everywhere and then, phew, DH, everything gets invalidated and while you look at the floor for a survivor to pick up, they sprint away to some distant boon, while two gens pop in union and you are left with nothing, but the taste of ash in your mouth.
And that's no singular occurrence they you might look back, years later and think "dang did they play it well this one game...", no this is something that happens at least every other game and it saps your killer instinct, you will to play.
