if you want all perks then don't prestige, many players don't have that mindset and don't care to prestige since it's effects are barely worth considering.
you can choose to put in the hours for both the perks and bragging rights or put in 3x less time for just the perks. that isn't healthy for the game as many players don't even care to prestige.
edit: yes the grind isn't healthy either but it at leasts stalls meta usage for the lower ranks to help newer players, many more players will get turned off facing noed, DS, and what not right from the start of the game.
What do you mean? I don't think new players would have bought all the perks and DLCs right away.

That perk does not work well with him since it does not activate when survivors go into your traps.

Sloppy Butcher would be a decent pick. Some nice healing slowdown that pairs well with the damage-spreading of STBFL.
I am worried that I won't get much use out of it. Survivors will most likely step in my traps a lot of the time. Do you have any other suggestions?

https://www.bhvr.com/about-us/ There is this page.
It depends on what you mean with power over the game as it's not just one person making decisions, but a group of people and every decision goes through several hands. There is a publisher, developer, directors, producers, etc. Mathieu Cote is the Game Director. Dave Richard is the Creative Director. Stéfan Beauchamp-Daniel is the Producer, etc.
I'm sorry for asking you so many questions, but what is the difference between a Game Director and Creative Director?

You might need to define the "Manager" part a bit more, because we do have our Community Managers, they take care of the Community Team.
I mean the one that has the most power over the game. Is there a specific person?
-
@Gay Myers (Luzi) said:
There was a small team involved with the creation of Dead by Daylight in BHVR! If you're asking specifics e.g. who back then was the producer, creative director and such, that's also answered in the video.
Here's the first Dev Diary they released on the 4th of February, 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9FMwsbsQek
Thank you! If you know who the "manager" of DBD is now, please let me now.

active for solo queue only (if you start a game with someone in a lobby, this feature is disabled for anyone in lobby): when someone is hooked, you are able to see where your other teammates are to coordinate saves for pub games, but if they are within a certain radius of a generator their auras are not shown for several seconds and their aura is entirely hidden if they are operating on a generator, and also aura blocked if they are in chase, to ensure that this doesn't become more abused
remove bloodlust
remove dead hard
for each hooked and/or downed survivor, exit gates are regressed by a certain percent, let's say 15% for each survivor
legion's power shouldn't cancel if they miss
allow console players to change graphic settings (low~ultra)
remove perk tiers and only have the "tier" be tier 3 at base
add a FOV slider
make spirit's breathing be heard in the direction she is phasing in for survivors and remove her ability to fake phase
add a noise for when deathslinger is aiming
allow people to try out different combinations of things in store to know if they want to buy something, like a hair from one set, a shirt from another, and bottoms from a third
"make spirit's breathing be heard in the direction she is phasing in for survivors" So you're gonna destroy the whole concept of Spirit? The whole concept and idea behind Spirit are mind games.

You're forgiven. And I hope you can forgive me in return. It was a [BAD WORD] move to poke at you.
I'm not sure what you're currently going through, and I know the forums aren't the place to go about it. but if you need anyone to talk to i offer my assistance, the DBD community is like a family and we should have eachother backs. Even if what's usually on our backs is eachother haha
Thank you, I forgive you as well. I really appreciate the offer. However, I feel the best way for me to handle anger and sadness is with myself. I am not good at expressing myself and dealing with emotions. I am not really comfortable to talk with other people about my issues and feelings. I appreciate you doe, a really nice thing of you to say!

Well I'm sorry you're going through what you're going through. And I know I've known you a whole 9minutes but I hope things get better for you.
But the reason I poked the bear so to say was because your original comment came off as aggressive. And when nobody agreed with you, you didn't decide to go back to the drawing board with your idea. But decided to try and close the discussion in damage control. I think because of your personal issues you were looking for a positive response as a sort of coping mechanism. But got even more upset when afew people said the idea just wouldn't work.
Now that I see this is likely the case I apologies and hope it gets better. But if I'm wrong again, then grow up
You were correct. I took my anger out on you guys, sorry about that.

there are perks they can use to help them get used to this game, actually a lot of perks are specifically meant to help new players like visionary and window of opportunity (can be used by good players but you should know pallet and vault locations).
Why are you seriously still replying to a thread named delete?

I'm against it personally. As long as you don't fall asleep on a gen you can use your eyes and ears to hear a killer coming.
As for seeing your teammates this would be a qol buff for solo Q players like me. But seeing someone move on the map likely won't help you tell if they're being chased like Bond Or AfterCare does.
Seriously read what I just wrote, "I want to say that you wouldn't be able to see survivors auras or images of the survivors on the minimap". Also, when did I say that you would be able to see the killer on the minimap? That would insanely OP and game breaking.
-
@JPA said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1898109#Comment_1898109
Sure but when things are designed around casual play it can break the balance at medium or high level play.
At the moment one of the most important skills for a survivor is using the map to loop and waste the killers time, and avoid deadzones etc. It just seems to me like adding a mini-map will make that easier (assuming the map shows the details of each loop, window, used pallet etc.) and a survivor then basically does not have to think about the random map generation, they can just fully focus on efficiently performing the loop and don't even have to remember where loops are in relations to the other structures, as they can use the map.
Given playing survivor atm is already well known to be less stressful than Killer, I don't think it's worth discussing features to further reduce the mental burden of a survivor.
But anyway in general I don't like this idea, if the mini map shows locations of teammates then it renders many aura perks useless. Same with generators, etc.
First I want to say that you wouldn't be able to see survivors auras or images of the survivors on the minimap and since the maps are big, you wouldn't really see that well where there are loops and tiles, so that wouldn't really be a problem.
Also, how would it reduce the mental burden of survivors? The minimap would just let you know where you are on the map. It would be a QOL improvement that won't affect the balance of the game.
-
@JPA said:
If you have a map equipped then sure. But no not another feature to make it easier for survivors plz
What do you mean? It could be useful for newer and inexperienced players, but oh well, this community seems to be against inexperienced players as always.

An Ultra-Rare offering that prevents Hatch from spawning until there is only one Survivor left.
Sawblade~ Allows Survivors to sacrifice a pallet to put up a breakable wall in a doorway. There would be a short channel of breaking down the pallet and building the wall.
I don't like hatch offerings, because IMO they're just plain boring. I also don't get the purpose of Sawblade, can you explain the purpose for it?

Hillbilly addon pass again (2022+)

Any ideas on how to make it the environment more interactive?
-
It comes up almost every day. They are already aware that many people want to see DS getting nerfed. I too want to see it get nerfed, but it's getting very repetitive and irritating.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think thats unlikely. To make this game scary, the whole core would need to be built from the ground up. This is not really a horror game. As some one said, it really is more like wack-a-mole with a horror skin on it.
Then why are they asking all of those questions if they have no plans to change something? They gotta be up for it to ask questions like that.
-
@Rydog said:
This game is not scary after you've played it a few times, and anything they do in an attempt to change this is going to wear off after repeat play. That's not a criticism, it's just what is.
Look at any other horror game designed for multiplayer or other repeat play. Phasmophobia is a great example -- when you first start playing it, you get freaked out by the ghost making creepy noises or suddenly appearing, etc. Once you've played it a few times, you start getting pretty immune to that stuff, because it becomes a set of predictable game mechanics.
(Now, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I still get jump-scared by a Myers or Ghostface surprising me our of nowhere, but that's down to a very narrow situation and not really the game design at-large).
It doesn't have to be jump scares or scary things like that. Even if you're not scared, it can create an atmosphere that was never there before.

Well when they released the battlepass related inquiry the rift was announced shorter after it so I guess they already had it planned and made in an internal test build and used the responses to gauge how well was going to be received, Im inclined to believe this may be the same.
What are you talking about? I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
@HectorBrando said:
I think they already did something on internal test builds and the inquiry is just to gauge how well/bad is going to be received and do small tweaks on it, I feel they did the same with the Battlepass inquire before adding the rift.
How?
-
@Mozzie said:
Their update path doesn't reflect a more horror element, quite the contrary. They are constantly putting more strength into survivors. This game is quite plainly whack-A-mole with a horror themed skin on it.
Did you even look at the title? I said planning, with that being said the horror element isn't here right now, but they might add that in the future.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I hope they don't resort to jump scares, they're extremely cheap.
Agreed. If there is any horror element that I don't want them to implement, it's jump scares.

Okay, I'm simply just gonna ignore you. I can already tell that you would never consider changing your opinion.
-
@indieeden7 said:
Well theoretically speaking, in an asymmetrical game, there shouldn't be a "power role" the game is supposed to be balanced in a way in which 4 survivors are of equal strength to 1 killer (hence the devs' goal of an average of 2 kills per match, or an escape rate of 50%)
And that worked out great, didn't it? 😂

The thing,I notice the community is very restless, any change usually ends with one side unhappy.When dev's do fix things, it's a short window, then here comes a thousand other complaints.Who ever is the discord guy or girl ,you should all get together make a list of what's really effecting gameplay.That way you can give this to a Fog Whisperer and hopefully they will address it.Also don't suggest nerfs for the love of God do not touch another killer.
I think both sides would be happy if they would put more effort and work into their updates. The saddest part about this is that fog whisperers do have the option to use their voice and show the devs the video and question them why they do things like this, but they don't. Scott Jund can even do it and ask that on the fog whisperer discord server, but he chooses not to.
