Man, this is so cool :)

Now I wanna right click on my desktop and make my own killer list :)

yeah I just opemed a file and would type the result

    Nurse, Dead

    Blight, Survived

    Then tally it up later.

Last 42 matches have gone way crazy in my favor. 13 deaths 29 escapes.

  • Xbox One X (not series X) Crossplay On.

No idea what server. Should be the one in North America Virginia or whatever but I seem to play a lot of people in South America so I think I end up on that server a lot which is BS. I am far north America.

Perks varied. I tend to use Prove Thyself as I hate how so often people don't seem to want to do gens so I bring it to encourage it. Built To Last, Boon Healing, WGLF, Overcome, Alert, OTR, Lithe, Blast Mine. A few others I can't think of right now.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I noticed this discrepancy too. Probably just a miscommunication with whoever was writing up the old add on descriptions.

Also, just curious, but why do you call the add ons grey? They're brown. I've noticed other people do the same and never understood why.

I barely register it. I think its because of how the ranks used to be setup. They that grey ash color then yellow, and so on.

  • Yeah that is pretty effing dumb if you ask me. I always thought the yellow scissors were actually the superior item. Turns out the suture had the exact same speed buff AND the skillcheck thing.

Again, I like the idea of Jolt I just wish it were worth using over other perks.

I'm not asking for big game changing super OP buffs, just a range increase and making the regression go from 8% to 10%

I agree though, in the current state of Jolt why on earth does it even have a cooldown?

I just wish the devs were more willing to do buffs and nerfs more consistantly with underperforming perks instead of just letting them sit around and rot. Jolt is a good example of a perk that could easily be fixed up and given love if the Devs cared.

Precisely, there is so many perks that could be tweaked to be more appealing. Most of them wouldn't even require testing.

Imagine if Jolt as 64 meters 10% on ANY attack and had no cooldown. As if anyone would find that OP?

There are so many terrible perks that could be buffed and still wouldn't change the meta but would at least encourage more variety.

  • @jesterkind said:

Well, while I fully agree that Jolt should be updated to work on special attack downs, there is something you're missing, which is that Jolt is far more consistent than either of those. Pop has to be used on a strict time limit and you have to physically be present at the generator you want it used on, and Pain Resonance requires you to be in range of one of four random hooks in the trial- whereas Jolt will always work provided that there's a generator in range.

If it were buffed to work on special attack downs too, it'd actually be a really solid perk, not a weak one.

I gave it that credit for the speed. The problem is that regression is so insanely small combined with the cooldown makes it so I see almost no reason to ever use that over Pop or the scourge perk.

But hell to the yes it should work on all attacks.

On the Steam forums there is a player insisting that it's random who gets a cosmetic... That while you have to do the things in game to qualify, its' still random if you get a reward or not. So me having gotten all 10 rewards in 11 games played is me being well loved by RNGesus and not the average player's experience.

Is this true, or if you get the glowy aura, you'll get one of the cosmetics?

Where in your menu does the cocoa dip charm appear?

I've got hit in like 20 snowmen and in my charm list I only see 2 of them in the event section unless for some reason it appears somewhere else?

  • Where does the cocoa drip charm show up at? I don't seem to have it even though I should by now.

  • For me it didn't....and wait a minute. I also have the frosty eyes for the Artist.

So it seems possible to get 2 rewards in a match? I got hit in 2 snowmen per match and so far found 3 of the rewards.

  • Ok it worked both times it just didn't tell me what it was. Would be nice if it did because IDK how easy it will beto scroll through charms to check if I got one each time.

I got the Hag weapon and the Wraith weapon.

  • Can you earn more than one in a match?

  • Oh so I can get killer stuff even when I did it as survivor or vice versa? I will check after this current match.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Perhaps you need to escape through the gates? Either that, or maybe you got them all already.

It says you get something no matter what if you took a hit IN a snowman.

  • Go to the search bar in the console and type out "Dead by daylight P" by the time I hit P a template showed up that was blank. WHen I selected it it was the DLC for purchase. No idea why the actual template doesn't show IN the store yet.

  • This has now happened 2 days in a row. Proof MMR is BS

How TF do I DIE to a killer and MMR is like hmmmm. You should play them again.

  • Yes but MMR is a joke as we've seen. Just playing daily puts you at the very very top percent.

I am by no means an outstanding survivor yet I got paired with CoconutRTS 3 times in 3 days.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294143/mmr-needs-to-be-better

    Yeah, this happens.

SBMM is actually a great idea - when it works. It's supposed to assign you a 'floor' and 'ceiling' to your matchups, so that regardless of wait times, you'll never be matched with people far worse or far better than you.

However, sometimes you get bonkers match-ups regardless of your own MMR. Then you spend some time reading around and realize that the system often just...doesn't work.

    • If you are inactive with one killer for 3 weeks (if I recall), the MMR of that killer resets. However, when you play with that killer next, it assigns a new MMR, pegged just slightly below your best MMR. Why this is the case I have no idea.
    • If a killer dodges a lobby, it grabs the next killer available. I'm not sure if the 'floor' or 'ceiling' applies here.
    • A lot of SWFs smurf their MMR down, usually to either farm grades more easily (you can't lose grades, so you can push it until you hit a point, then smurf down, then push it again) or to look better on streams. Sometimes they just want to stomp. If you see an obvious SWF with fancy skins, dodge that lobby immediately.
    • BHVR seems to sometimes take the system down entirely, probably to make changes or fix a problem. You'll have a day where you just get insane matchups - signaled by instant queues. This is usually a sign to go do something else for the evening.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2631180#Comment_2631180

What do you mean by it boosts you?

Do you mean that it makes winning easier so your MMR inflates, or that simply playing in an SWF increases your MMR?

It amazes me how everyimr someome shares an MMR feature with me it gets worse. If ture that is BEYOND dumb

Yes your MMR should drop if you don't play. But to think a killer I don't even play coulkd get upped to about as high as my best killer for no reason? WHAT

  • @Kurri said:

Just play Survivor instead. Hit Validation is survivor sided even when the survivors ping is bad. It looks at the survivors perspective first and then chooses a place between them - and that always means a miss for the Killer.

When they could of just made it so the server favors whoever had the better connection.

But why do that? Because then 4 survivors with bad connections would complain - compared to one killer complaining.

I normally play with 20ms, take pride in a high end computer and great connection. Just to be punished by their bad idea of a "hit validation", so I stopped playing.

The MMR has ruined the game as killer for me. It isn't fun at all because if you win some games you start playing teams who do the gens in 5 seconds and or teams you need to play lame as hell to win against.

Throw in a denied Dead hard hit or a pallet validation thing it makes it VERY UNPLEASANT experience. A missed hit is SO MUCH more devastating than it used to be.

  • @TAG said:

I find it weird that you insist that Deadlock is a broken perk but only mention it in passing otherwise.

The sheer absurdity that this perk is better than POP in every way basically and the devs didn't realize it.

Free 30 second pauses up to 120 seconds in addition to the time Corrupt buys then tag on the time needed to cleanse the totems if it was attempted.

Granted, it is quite old information, but if I remember correctly, they never updated the list (or made any potential changes public):

    • Asia: Singapore
    • Asia: Tokyo
    • Australia: Sydney
    • Europe: Frankfurt
    • Europe: London
    • South America: Sao Paulo
    • North America: North Virginia
    • North America: Oregon
    • Periodically enabling additional regions to test the impact on match quality

They need at least 1-2 in North America.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/290682/where-are-the-servers-located

It's not just your internet connection. Besides, the fact that you have the hit take back more often, is simply that you've been gaining free downs on tons of survivors before this change, while survivors were probably near the end of their animation. If there is a 30 ms ping from survivor and a 30 ms ping from you, it takes 60 ms for the dead hard to appear on your screen.

So what happens on the survivors end is more valid than what happens on mine? Got it.

  • Can we get an update on what BHVR plans to do to combat the rising hacker problem?

It seems they dont have any idea, and no interesting in learning either. Instead they are feeding each other disinformation, and generating hysteria.

So what? The majority of Xbox, PSN, Switch would all opt not to play with PC and it would be fine. No more hackers in-game which is already like a RAMPANT insane fest going on right now. All of a sudden they're 10x more common to see. But for bricking hardware to even enter the question? nah, eff that.

  • @GrayEyes said:

I pray to god nobody takes this thread seriously anyone with a decent understanding of computers and coding knows that yes you can overload a server or a network with sending to many packets or too little packets that's how people ddos you but as soon as you turn the console or system off it stops receiving information it is impossible to brick a pc or a console cause as soon as you unplug it it is no longer receiving or writing data so there is no way you could ever stop something from turning on

please read and research ddos and denial of service attacks and you will understand why it's impossible

DDOS is completely different than something like this.

If they could hack the game to change things in game like we all know they can. A hacker can insta heal a random survivor they can do all sorts of things. It doesn't seem completely impossible that they could also hack the game in a way that would interact with the persons console in a very negative way. Do I know anything about it? NO. But does that sound IMPOSSIBLE? Also no.

Its possible they somehow fixed it on the backend. I see very few people on Xbox do have it unlocked now. I have no progress but I haven't done anything since early yesterday. will see now if it gives me progress.

  • Xbox One X on Silent Hill map.

I saw a Dwight o nthe floor freaking out and then I crashed. So I think he also crashed as well as the killer.

  • i did. Weird if it considers that a loss though.

You are doing the thing you are claiming I'm doing. Assuming that I have an issue with DS just because I brought it up.

But hey I guess anything to remove the possibility of seeing other non-meta perks see play. Can't have killers mess with fun perks.

Yeah people tend to do that when the other person directly cites other perks to turn off in response to the one the OP is suggesting needs to be tweaked.....

Plaything isn't some "fun perk" or part of some goofy build. It's a solid perk either way and good for snowballing. Objectively has massive synergy with Pigs active traps. In a way that...kindddaaa removes all gameplay from the survivor side of things when trying to GET the RBT off. I thinlk thats an issue.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2560399#Comment_2560399

Are you against disabling perks now, because it's not to your own advantage?

I cringe when people argue like this. The automatic assumption that anyone against something broken in advantage of killer MUST be a survivor main.

I have around 7,000 sacrifices on DBD. I play both roles.

Why is DS a problem for you again? Quit tunneling. They can't do ANYTHING or else they void their DS. Not a big deal. Borrowed Time same thing.

I'm against disabling perks when they create broken gameplay that the devs obviously didn't think of when they made the perk. This isn't the first time this has happened it won't be the last.

As if the devs who routinely nerf killer were like. We should give Pinhead a perk that specifically makes Pigs active trap scenarios infinitely easier to make oppressive. Gee were nerfing Deathslinger for all these counterplay complaints and we're fixing Pigs timer add ons. Lets give her something that ACTUALLY doesn't have counterplay on top of it.

  • @Crowman said:

If we're going to be disabling perks because a survivor has an active RBT on their head we should be fair and have it deactivate all perks. No BT, No DS, No UB.

Now you don't have to deal with plaything and the pig doesn't have to deal with your perks.

What an outstanding argument. You really pleaded your case reasonably.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2556946#Comment_2556946

Well then what would you suggest? Because nerfing Plaything just means one more perk slot for yet another meta perk. It's not like many killers are using Plaything at the moment anyways.

I'm not so sure if this will actually get nerfed though, I personally still don't see how it's that crazy.

The fix is easy. When your trap becomes active Plaything is void until the trap is dealt with.

I felt like on paper this should seem obvious but wait until you go against a Pig who is exclusively using it to go after people with active traps on their head. You get unhooiked you are now injured with an active trap on your head. You have a time limit to find the right box while having zero indication of where the pig is while she is free to run upright. This removes all chance to defend yourself. Heading to a box that for al lyou know the Pig is getting looped right at. You can't tell unless its a WIDE open area.

It's really cute, that you think this is same power-level as Undying used to be...

Plaything is fine, you can actually just ignore it on most maps. You know that Plaything has backfire in form of not able to use any other Hexes, because those make Plaything worse. You might get away with one, so probably Retribution, or Thrill of the Hunt are best options.

It will also get worse, because of boon totems -> less Dull totems to spawn Plaything.

It's cute that you responded as if I was talking about something else entirely.

  • and that is a completely different thin than what Play Thing does. Having to perfectly know the distance from the person on the box and then slowly creep up for them to maybe not even be there is so far behind what Play Thing gives her. The ability to run at will to anyone on a box and for the person to have no chance to play it smart against her because they can't hear her.

    @ad19970 said:

Dude you have your opinion, thats fine. But no, they don't "know" that you are right, because most people would argue you are wrong.

Pig can already use her crouch ability to go undetectable, so I as well don't understand why Plaything issuchn a problem on Pig. I also haven't seen anyone else complain about this yet, it seems like most people aren't agreeing with you here.

If the devs actually nerf Plaything, I'm gonna laugh hard. That perk isn't op at all. What changes would you suggest though out of curiosity?

I guarantee you it gets nerfed. If Undying got nerfed this will too. No the perk itself but the combo on Pig. Its way too strong.

  • This measures our time played....just not our time being face camped and 1 hooked or paired with absolute horrible teammates.

My god this is getting annoying to deal with.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2555389#Comment_2555389

Why are you trying to shut off Hex: Plaything against a Killer who can turn off their TR at will?

You aren't trying to remove the Hex.....that is the point.....because you kinda can't and don't have the time to? But are then forced to be careless because you don't have the time TO be careful...

    My entire complaint.....

    @Aneurysm said:

Urgh could you all stop the circlejerking for once I don't even agree with OP but "stoopid survivor main want to nerf pig lol" isn't much of a counterargument.

Well thats because they all know I am right. It's obviously something the devs didn't intend. The perk goes from being strong on most killers to RIDICULOUSLY strong on Pig. Removing all gameplay elements of defense. Like I said. if your trap goes active and you have been hooked. What steps are there to reasonably try to remedy the situation? There is none.

  • @Sabraiz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2555424#Comment_2555424

You don't need to use your eyes against Pig, her breathing is almost as loud as Wraiths. You can clearly hear it through walls.

If you hear her breathing while you're at a box. You're going down.

  • @Aneurysm said:

I've been desperately trying to unlock it on pig, no luck yet :( I promise not to use it for tunnelling.

Also plaything while great is not going to become meta on pig or anyone else unless a new killer has a power that synergises very well and obviously with it.

.....you're trying to unlock it on her yet you don't think its meta. Suuuurrree.

Dude, you have limited time to find the box you need. WHILE injured. You have nothing indicating she is around. This doubles down on the original idea of the perk where you NEED to be careful but an active trap REMOVES that from being a possibility. Which is always something BHVR seems to try not to do yet in this case it slipped them. This is without question one of the best perks to run on her now. It makes her lackluster traps INSANELY strong. Pair with timer reducing add ons.....oh god.

  • When the only actual suggestion to something broken OP is "use this perk" you know you're right.

Eyes? When did survivors gain the ability to see through walls and in all directions at once?

LMAO people cried about the Spirit but not this?

You're literally an injured survivor with a timer on their head. That has to run around to boxes the Pig knows about. While having absolutely nothing that indicates she is coming. Turning the entire game into a coin flip instead of actions chosen based on input from the other side.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 27
