That would be crazy strong on an upstairs window with Balanced Landing. It's one of those mechanics that I think could be so busted, there might not be a way to make a balanced perk out of it (a bit like the Killer power to teleport Survivors to hooks).
But maybe it could be something like after fully repairing a generator, the next time you fast vault a window you block it for 2 seconds (or whatever), after which the perk deactivates. I dunnoโฆ Might be a fun but limited use meme perk?
I think Apocalyptic Ingenuity will be kinda decent now, with a chest looter build. It's still very much a meme perk but it'll have a place in at least one of my silly builds. So there's space in the game for things like that, I think.
I hope so. I know that the devs take inspiration from events for perks, like Apocalyptic Ingenuity. It might be strong but that really depends on how you balance it.

@Angy_Quentin said:
Not for 20% of a gen. Same issue as with apocalyptic ingenuity, its super hard to balance.
Maybe for one opened chest?
Good idea, I'll do that. I think time would increase to 3 or 4 seconds so you get a little more value. Now it is just like the Twisted Masquerade Vault Blocker.

I understand that a lot have not, after all your post alone has at least 20 upvotes.
My guy, that dude's post has 32 Downvotes, those aren't upvotes, he doesn't even have a single upvote. No one is supporting that trashy opinion serving as an excuse for the devs to make horrible decisions after already completely breaking their community's trust by forcing denuvo into their game and risking user hardware.
Oh yeah well point still stands, people are active my point is ๐

it's our own faults for abandoning the official forums
Uhm. Talk for yourself? Plenty of us havenโt abandoned the forums at all. Others were banned or pretty much silenced with expecting to be banned for very minor stuff
I understand that a lot have not, after all your post alone has at least 20 upvotes. Still though, I truly believe if there were more people on here then the devs wouldn't of considered removing the forums. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe they planned on removing it anyway. Regardless, it has been a fun ๐๐ข

I have to copy and paste all of my perk ideas before they are forgotten.

Probably last time I talk about it because I don't want all this to be for nothing, idk how likely I will be heard by the devs, idk if more or less talking about it will help or not, but it's like always on my mind tho because I used this perk alot for many years of dbd solo q, i truly believe this is the wrong change for this perk and I know Im not the only one.
Premonition had its own players who used it to specifically help with stealth killers. It was literally its only use and identity of the perk. This is crucial to some players in solo q with less comms than swf
This perk will get an even lower pick rate, it will lose many ppl who ran it before this for its stealth detection, ppl who want aura perks will run other perks like Alert with no cooldowns and ones that aren't so restricted cos the 60 sec cooldown is ridiculous. Again, this perk doesn't need to be yet another aura perk. It already had 1 use and u made it harder to use with the cooldown.
If this perk was just changed because the data said it wasn't used much, u missed the mark on what made this perk liked and used at all, and not every perk with low pick rate needs to be changed like this. U can't just destroy playstyles and people's preferred perks because of data. The dev note reads " we wanted to modernise the perk by providing an aura " nice, but the cooldown is so unnecessary ill take a shorter cooldown over an aura.
Sorry if this Is long and ranted a bit but everything I said stands, and I really hope the cooldown doesn't make it to live. This gives the impression to me that the devs thought only newbies used this perk, absolutely not true. A shorter cooldown than 30 seconds with aura or not, would've been a much better change to it.
The change I had in mind wasn't aura at all but rather a reduced detection range so it is more accurate. I also would of reduced the cooldown to 20 or 15 seconds. I agree that 60 seconds cooldown for a 3 second duration is ridiculous, I mean Alert gives it every 5-10 seconds depends on how survivors play. I also agree the identity Premonition had is gone, was useful to counter stealth killers but now that has been removed. It does need another rework, doesn't need change necessarily but it does need a major buff.

Hello everybody,
As youโre all aware, we are currently in our 10th year of operating Dead by Daylight as a live game. While the dev team is looking at numerous ways to update, improve, and modernize the game to carry us through the next 10 years, we are doing this on the community side of things as well.
When looking at the spread of official channels and platforms (Official Forums, Discord, Reddit, Steam Discussions, social media) where we engage with and listen to our players, we have seen big shifts over this last decade in where our players are spending their time. While most of these platforms and channels have been booming, user activity and engagement on our Official Forums has been steadily and substantially declining year over year. This matches general trends seen across the industry regarding where gaming communities are spending their time these days.
Reflecting upon this dynamic, we believe the time has come to shift where we are focusing the community teamโs efforts for the exciting future ahead. As such, weโve made the decision to close the Official Forums at the end of October 2026 and transition to supporting you, the Community, on the other platforms namely the official Discord server, Steam Discussions and the r/DeadbyDaylight subreddit.
Discord, in particular, will become more and more central to our community work in the months ahead. With tens of millions of DBD players already present on the platform, coupled with the plethora of fantastic tools available to enhance how we collaborate with our community there makes it the clear choice of where we need to centralize our efforts.
Over the coming weeks you will receive an email to the account used to register on this forum to invite you to join the Dead by Daylight Discord and receive a special role in that Server highlighting you as a forum member. There will also be a dedicated channel in the Discord structured for the long form, threaded content you are renowned for and accustomed to, so that you can continue your discussions.
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for your support and the passion you have brought to these forums all these years. You have been a foundational, core element of this community and we do not take this change lightly. We know many of you have built bonds and connections with each other, and even directly with our team, because of this platform and weโll always honour that.
We look forward to continuing our journey together with you on the official Discord server and seeing you remain a vital part of our community. Thanks again.
The Dead by Daylight Team
As controversial as this sounds, I really don't think this is too bad. Besides, it's our own faults for abandoning the official forums. This wouldn't of happened if we stayed. Some of are here, obviously one is myself. Still, Discord is the most popular gaming chat. Nothing wrong with prioritising the majority, it is what I have been saying for a while. You can't please everyone, prioritise the biggest audience you can, which is Discord. People will complain obviously, I get that. Still you are proving my point, end of an era but was a good run. I will still give my stupid ideas on here until the very end, ok now I'm being over dramatic but peace out.

It should only work if the same survivor is hooked twice in a row, with small or even no downside, only once per match. This would make the perk only work on real tunneling scenarios, not when alternating hooks between 2 or 3 survivors.
Using a perk only for tunnelling is so boring. Why no add some power to it with a cost. What if the killer does not tunnel, you could still have value.

I believe Dark Theory started as 2%, because right now it's 3%. So DT + MFT would be 4.5% AKA still sucks lmao
Your right, I need to use wiki.gg for updated perks. While the Dbd Fandom is outdated.
-
@Arcturus said:
I think that's actually a pretty decent idea, although I was honestly hoping to see a couple perks get haste increases because they said they were focusing on perks hit by Diminished Returns. Hope is obviously fine. Dark Theory is still not good at 3%, they could have afforded at least 4% maybe even 5% since it has such limited range. MFT could also be increased by 1-2% considering it can be fairly difficult to activate. I'd also like to see the same for Power of Two and maybe Blood Pact since they're so niche, but I get that they are higher % so maybe BHVR is concerned with haste stacking still being too powerful if they buff them.
I agree but I'm pretty sure Dark Theory was nerfed to 2% so it is even worse. So MFT and DT would only give 4%, not 5%. So it sucks a lot.

I think it would be an item instead of a perk, an item you use to strengthen a pallet to make it take the killer longer to break it, or adding screws to the pallet to stun the killer longer, or as you suggested with the windows, or both.
Yeah that was my second idea. Even though my ideas suck I'm to change the way we play dbd but not only adding new items/perks but by adding new mechanics.

@esarraf said:
Possibly one of the worst perk suggestions I've seen this year. No offense but any perk that can literally kill my team is not a perk that should exist in any way shape or form.
No not team only yourself.
-
I think this perk has been buffed, really fast opening gate and can be combined with Wake Up. Yes diminishing effects but still stacks.
-
@Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:
They already have like 5 times. Time to spend resources on updating some of the other weak killers that have been ignored for years.
The over 5 times was mainly nerfs but they were supposed to completly change how her power works.

I really want BHVR to not go through with these changes. If they are worried about it being to strong with Hyperfocus and future perks they should just make token consumption a "Special Great Skill Check" and update hyperfocus to only work on basic great skill checks.
The sad part is Hyperfocus is still problematic, I legitimately think toolboxes are the biggest reason why the perk destroys gens, getting a bunch of skill checks early because of the toolbox skillcheck bonus supercharges hyperfocus.
I really like Stakeout and hate to see it being in this state because of another perk.
A simple nerf would be do that Hyperfocus doesn't stack with generators.

But this can be problematic for stealthy killers.Pick one. Would work against stealthy killers or if you go against a killer with stealth the perk will never work unless they are not stealth. Besides, Whispers work when survivors have no scratch marks, pools of blood, no noise, no aura etc. Doesn't seem like a huge problem, also 36m is much bigger than you think.

see by yourself:
- Stake Outย (Rework)
- After hiding forย 15s withinย 24m of theย Killer, while in theirย Terror Radius, you earnย 1ย Token, up toย 2/3/4.
- While you have at leastย 1ย Token, basicย Skill Checksย are replaced by specialย Skill Checks.
- Specialย Skill Checksย grant +4% more progress.
- Whenever you miss a specialย Skill Check, lose -4% more progress.
- Whenever you hit or miss a specialย Skill Check, spendย 1ย Token.
(After hiding forย 15s withinย 24m of theย Killer, while in theirย Terror Radius, you earnย 1ย Token, up toย 2/3/4).
so there 24m of the killer and you must to be in the killer terror radius too, this is risky and you must stay for 15s for one token!
I agree 24m is a little low, could buff it to 36m. Also need to remove the Terror Radius requirement. Now it'll also work like the old Whispers but for survivor. That would be quite nice ๐

What if the killer has no terror radius, then the perk would really suck.

60s you can do it in gen and you do 70% progress then 48% progress with Stake out.
True but not while hiding. You can 48% of a gen using a stealth build. Like a mini brand-new part from hiding, actually quite insane. Still, I would like it so stay the same until live to see what others think. If the devs think it is not OP, then keep it though I have my doubts.

This breathes a lot of new life to unused or weak perks, and gives some much needed balance for others, and it would be awesome to see this kind of effort put into the killer rooster! Giving some overtuned killers some much needed nerfs, as well as making the weaker killers around more viable would have VERY deep impacts in the game's balance and people's enjoyability of it.
Hopefully next balance is that rework for Skull Merchant. It sounded quite odd but pretty cool.
-
I got to disagree. Maybe it is not too OP as a solo survivor but like with a lot of perks, this will be crazy strong in a swf. Not in chase for 60 seconds and you can get a total of 48% of a gen instantly. Actually insane trying to counter a 3 gen.

The System is excellent but needs quite a few more message options. Examples I can think of: Getting Tunneled, go for unhook (to tell someone else to go for save), Camping, Need healing.
Another thing this system would be great for is a killer intent system to communicate with your killer teammate in 2v8. With messages such as: Patrol Gens, over here (when you find a big group of survivors), cover me (when picking up at a pallet or when flashlights are nearby). Some of the existing messages like nice, thanks, and Help! would work here too.
Yeah I don't see a problem with this. Why not just add proximity chat ๐ค

Ok so imagine this. Off the Record + Borrowed Time + Moment of Glory + Idk DS. It is crazy good now, could be meta again for those people who are creative.

Potential Energy is a good perk, but I agree that the penalty for getting hit could be reduced (not removed). I think losing half the stacks would put it in a good spot.
Yeah losing 50% of stacks when injured would put this perk in a good place.

The entire Invocation Mechanic is just outright trolling, there's no reason to ever use them and there shouldn't be more until BHVR fixes that design.
Yeah I have a huge issue with Invocation myself, I have a better rework listed.
-
Even as a killer main this perk is definitely quite oppressive. My suggestion is to increase the effect if they move I don't know 15m or 20m away instead of just 10m. Or to reduce the duration of Hinder to just 2 or 3 seconds.
-
Not bad idea. I also think it could be like an Invocation where you are permanently broken after using it. That way all 4 survivors can use it and it has a massive downside. Could also add de-buffs for using it for a set amount of time like healing 15% slower or something like that.
-
Devs sounded high af for some of these changes. I'm all for it ๐

I made a separate post after this one on a few different ways to change the Nurse, and the simplest one was to simply increase her recharge rate of her second blink from 3s to 5s to limit how much she is able to go for the easy adjustment blinks that guarantee a hit even when the first blink is a bit sloppy. If you make it a blanket cooldown time, Nurse already doesn't have that fast of long map traversal, most of her distance comes from her first blink, so I think having her first blink be on a bigger cooldown might actually make her traverse the map even slower than a 4.6 killer.
I do think her second blink being 5 seconds is a little long, maybe as a test start with 4 seconds.
-
I mean if Nurse needs a nerf, maybe just start with reducing her power cooldown by .5 or 1 second. Might not sound like too much but it would make a big difference.

My favourite perk build is Windows of Opportunity, Off the Record, Made for This and Wicked.

Not too sure but apart from having the usual strength and speed, Art the Clown has Reality warping abilities like Freddy. He also has The Little Pale Girl. Who can do cool things such as shapeshift and voice mimicry which would be amazing.

i mean of half the perks in this game activelly suck so bad they might aswell not exist . No mither , insidious , undone , shattered hope , calm spirit . Like even as memes i would rather use other perks .
True but I saw a dev responding to this. They said they'll buff a lot of perks.
-
Because why would you want to run any perks that would give you a disadvantage? Meta are the strongest perks, expect them to be used often. No disrespect but if it is easy to win using non meta then your MMR must be very low.
-
@Arcturus said:
Self Care being like that would make it absolutely broken. That would make it faster than a medkit (unless you have skill check addons) while also having unlimited uses. The 60s cooldown means nothing, as there would be few times where you would get injured so soon after healing. I don't think the devs will ever change Self Care as it already is incredibly popular in Asia.
As for Circle of Healing, the perk might not be meta or anything but it's okay. Not every perk has to be insanely strong, and when CoH first came out it did allow self heals and it was busted.
What about if the cooldown is 120 seconds or instead you get it once each hook stage.
-
I do have a rework for it. Maybe it heals as same as old self-care at 50% and has 30 second cooldown between usage. In exchange, it is unaffected by Healing Penalities or Reduces healing penalties.
-
@dangersmymidd1ename said:

Not every survivor wants to run it. That's why its pick rate is not 100%.
I agree that not every survivor wants to run it but wouldn't you agree that guessing if a pallet is there is bad for your team. I mean going down it 5 seconds because your teammate throws all pallets. At least you'll know where a window is to last a little longer.
-
It does with the rework at 50% but also reduces healining penalties.
-
@HexSlugged said:
sloppy bucther is suppose to help counter self care and other healing perks. thats not a problem.
and while self care has its place, if its an important part of your build, you are almost certainly being a detriment to your team.
I agree but you also have Coulrophobia, Dying Light, Hex : Pentimento, Leverage, Scourge Hook : Weeping Wounds.
-
@dangersmymidd1ename said:
Windows is not a perk that every survivor wants to run. Just like not every killer wants to run aura perks.
Also the benefit of Corrupt Intervention is much stronger than an information perk.
I disagree, Windows of Oppotunity is the second most used perk in the game, just behind Lithe. Being able to see pallets and windows can be a settings like how you can change aura colors.
-
Having a survivor who is a demon would be cool.
-
Though it might be strong it could be permanent. Though the numbers would need to go down to 4 or 5%. So each time your injured, you'll have reduced charges to heal to full.
-

Nope but he does have haste and hindered.
-
Maybe a killer that controls Time would be awesome. The ability to give survivors hindered and give yourself haste seems like it would be fun. The design is slightly similar to The Clown so maybe something added to it. Not too sure, maybe I'll think of someone more.
