  • Ok so what if a Boon gave this affect? It could even go down 3x as slow so 180 seconds if you are running. I'm just looking for new Boon Ideas. I think it would be cool but it would be very strong if not balanced well.

A game mode with more perks slots would be a dream come true! Now with Diminishing returns, it would be pretty safe to run whatever build one wants.

Survivors and killer having 5 perks would be fun! Even 6,7,8🤭

Would be great wouldn't it. If the devs liked this idea and wanted to implement it, maybe a Chaos Shuffle 2.0 would be a good baseline for this idea.

  • It's fine if nobody agrees but just play a swf group using 4 Power Struggles or 4 Conviction and see the power of survivor for yourself. All you need to know is the devs do not balance with multiple survivors in mind, just really trying to buff solo queue which is not a problem but stuff like this needs to be looked into just a little bit.

One thing I will say, making it so where increasing MMR by using the emblem system will be great for both sides.

  • What the devs could do is give vigil the ability to recover from exhaustion 40-50% faster and recover from other status effects 20-25% faster.

Fair point, perhaps it could be reworked to allow survs to cleanse totems, open chests, maybe self heal. Or maybe with this specific instance, there could be herbs, antidotes or mushrooms etc around the map to temove the condition.

Welp you finished the idea I was missing. I wanted to add a "cleanse mechanic" like Plague but couldn'r think of an idea. Maybe this could be Claudette 2.0 chapter with a botanist killer instead. Or something like that.

  • @pidgeon said:

Everybody knows why killers do this, it's moreso it being unfun to play against and because of that people want it removed from the game.

Also note: you shouldn't be tunnelling at 5 gens, if you are tunnelling at 4-5 gens you just are objectively bad at killer.

There is a paradox isn't there. Of course removing tunneling would be good in theory, brings out the best in killers. By adding a bunch of basekit stuff for survivors because of tunneling makes it harder to win at high MMR. Which in turn makes killers tunnel more. Another problem is if you remove the basekit anti-tunnel properties, it would be easier for killers to tunnel. Also even though I mentioned it, tunneling at 5 gens I doubt is that common.

Using strong toolboxes to make it impossible for killer to hook, especially when the killer deserves the hook from playing well. Using perks like Power Struggle to make it impossible for killers to pick up from a pallet.

What does this have to do with SWF? People do all of this in solo. A good SWF pressures gens, this sabo nonesense is the type of player you dread getting in solo.

Yeah people can do it in solo but there is a difference in the fact that in a SWF there are 4 strong sabo toolboxes, + 4 unbreakables. The problem is the coordination. A good SWF pressures gens, a great SWF priorites friends. Now I do agree having a sabo solo would punish and be dreadful as a solo survivor. In a SWF it is insanely strong.

I find it funny if survivor complain about Tunneling/Slugging/Camping because it’s the same, if they win = The killer is bad, if they lose= killer played unfair and it’s a skill issue. I mean I have the choice of hooking and activating the strongest and most common perks currently or slug, or I know everyone is around the hook so I can’t leave it. You could theoretically call tunneling the same as gen rushing since it’s basically rushing your objective as killer.

That is true, I think it's the same. Apart from the devs would not give killers a bunch of base-kit stuff to counter gen rushing 😅

I think they may have meant the incapacitated status condition. Prevents survs working gens, healing or doing actions etc it's not used widely in the game, tier 3 madness does it, and eruption used to apply it before it got nerfed.

Your right, the status condition. I'm aware Incapacitated is a very strong effect. That is why it will only last for maybe around 15 seconds. Not too OP but is not useless.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/471797/invocation-rework

Huh? Why? Invocations don't need downsides at all. Sitting in basement is not woth any of current perks even if perks have no downsides. Weaving spiders… time to travel to basement + perform invocation in best possible scenario where you get there at teh start of the trial, uninterupted by the killer, performed without any gen being blocked may take about 90-100s so you would have done a solo gen while you also leave team in 3v1 scenario creating no early pressure. Treacherous Crows is not worth any comment, that perk is killer's perk.

Speaking of that, if killer finds you in the basement you will most likely lose game to your entire team, some of the killers might easily confirm a kill from that.

I sort of agree but the affects invocation give are actually decent. Ideally no broken but I don't know if that would be very balanced.

  • Using the Night Light statistics. Lithe is now the most used perk, even over WoW. Which is surprising definitely. Sprint Burst is still strong but now Lithe is better.

So what? Did you think my little oni was balanced as well? Who cares if it's a mess what's important is it's fun.

Yeah you have a point. Maybe 8 perks would be fun, the only thing is it would need diminishing affects.

  • @SpyUA said:

That would be a good change, this would make more sense for another survivor to save their teammate from a trap

I agree but at the same time I don't want swf to hurt Trapper that much. Maybe the break out time should be slightly less at around 7 seconds. I know it seems long but that is his power.

Uhh… sorry but no. If it's a wacky crazy event that's super chaotic you'll get a lot of people super interested in it and seeing it come back. If it's just like… oooh one extra perk you'll get a few people to play it and no one will care to see it back since it's almost essentially the same as the regular game mode.

I'm not so sure, we have never been able to run 5 perks so the combinations will be even bigger. 8 perks would be unplayable for both sides. Killers would run 8 gen perks and make it impossible to win. Survivors would run 8 meta perks and make it impossible to win. I know what you mean but I believe this will be great for both sides, now you can run 4 perks + Windows of Oppotunity.

Technichian got buffed recently to make it where your generator repairs are completely silent. So I've been pairing it with Mirrored Illusion as the main weakness with it was that the killer could easily tell you were inside the clone by hearing generator sparks n such. This completely removes that and if your chasing next to a gen you can place the Mirrored Illusion on it then loop around again and hide inside of it. Its very fun

I didn't know you can hide in an illusion, that is cool. Still needs buff though, not a huge one but a little one. Maybe simply make it more realistic.

  • @esarraf said:

Ehh neat idea but if it's going to be a whole game mode I'd double it to 8 for some insane builds. Five just seems too safe.

Wow I thought you meant survivors not perks. Playing it safe is a good start though, that might be a bit much 😂

  • This is quite cool. I also think there should be a new opening door action. The killer wouldn't have to open it and would just walk through it. To get a real endless room effect.

I wanna let u know the 3 least used perks are from the PTB and haven’t released yet so that’s why they have a low pick rate

Almost every Ghoul I go against uses Pain Res/DMS/Surge/Pop or Pain Res/DMS/Grim/Surge

No exaggeration, I wish it wasn't that common

So does every killer. Having to run perks so the game doesn't end in 5 minutes is not fun for killer either. I'm not biased, slow down and regression are mandatory if you care about winning. Dbd is a competitive game which is why so many people complain. Ik I'm no better but come on, if killer got rewarded for skill instead of camping, tunnelling and slugging then I promise things would be different. A casual mode would be good and I wish things could be different, been like this for so many years but I don't see anything changing now. As long as devs add fun perks and killers, I'm sure the game will be fine.

BHVR don't care about us Xbox players anymore, they're giving us scraps and calling it compensation

When developers can't even be bothered to balance their game or even fairly compensate their players it's time to call it quits

I love DbD but I simply don't feel comfortable with BHVR in charge

Game is not balanced sure but still have 70k daily players. Most asymmetric game die, balanced or not people keep coming back because with the fun killers, perks and endless playstyles wanting the community for more. 1 day your cry about swf or killer camping, another day you had a fun game.

  • Give clown a 3rd bottle 😂

  • Problem with asymmetrical games is no matter that change the dev makes, someone will always be annoyed because of the rolls. Let me tell you something interesting, DBD is on the Top 15 current players on steam charts. Which means regardless of what anyone says, the devs are doing enough to keep the game alive. Most asymmetric games die, so there already 1 step ahead.

Getting 1 hit downs with aura reading is way too strong. Putting it with Lethal Pursuer is just going to make it worse. Imagine Nurse having this. It'd be a complete nightmare.

Wouldn't work on nurse, her M1 are classed as M2.

  • @Legion_S_Tier said:

I really like the first half of the perk it sounds really good and can lead to interesting builds and gameplay. But the second half seems like a win more kind of perk which doesn’t seem to fun. Maybe just as a suggestion, if you don’t down anyone in the first 60s you get a debuff for 20? Probably not a good idea but would make for a fun gambling perk. Cool suggestion from you though

Second Idea I have for the second half was to increase exposed status effect by 10 seconds if they had a set timer. Downside is that only one survivor can be downed at a time then the perk deactivates. Only perk to nullify this is Haunted Grounds.

  • Oh I forgot, only 1 survivor can be Exposed by this perk at a time. Then the perk deactivates.

  • What a load of messages, I ain't reading them all. What change I would make to circle of healing is you heal at 50% but you ignore all "anti-healing" perks such as Sloppy Butcher. Might be a bad change but Idk.

  • I would just start by playing more survivor and unlocking "Meta" perks. Also if your getting 4k's with no perks, idc what you say but your MMR must be in the negatives.

  • It's a shame because Deathslingers concept is one of the coolest, as you said. A gun blade is awesome. Idk what I would do but maybe give him a mechanic like Trickster. After hitting a few shots, maybe the next one could be buffed in some way.

  • Not bannable but to me this is generally toxic. A non intended mechanic shouldn't be abused, I get what your saying, it's not your fault that the gens spawn is awful. Otz made a video as well about it, he made a joke about playing doctor and constantly shocking one of the generators. Joke or not, to me this is grieving.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Would this just snowball perks which leads to more wins which leads to more Haste which leads to lasting longer and more wins, etc, etc?

On top of that, the balance behind this perk does not make sense. Like yes you would have to win 10 games in a row as Survivor, but youd get 10% Haste, and 110% Killers wont be able to catch you without Bloodlust, and 115% Killers cannot catch you at all if you bring Hope.

Idk, the numbers would have to change, but as it stands, that is a severely unbalanced idea.

Yeah I guess I didn't think about the design too well. I just wanted to create a very unique perk. I still like the idea of introducing a perk that carries on next game, haste probably not the best one though.

  • I agree, Trapper is awful still and against a swf, gg. I also agree map offerings are badly designed, I hate RNG in this game but I think maps should be the exception.

  • Yeah that sounds good, both perks strong but Zanshin Tactics isn't meta.

  • @Star99er said:

I wouldn't say it's never about skill, but efficiency and a game sense definitely outweigh it. Having coordinated teammates with a lot of game knowledge are typically going to be more effective, and that goes for most games.

I agree, also skill is needed but not mandatory. Well for killer it is, need to be good to win as killer. As survivor, if you run gens as fast as possible and just Shift W. I bet you could win a lot of games.

  • @Shroompy said:

Thing is efficiency is a skill that only comes with time and experience. Just because youre a 4 man SWF, running meta, gen rushing, tunneling, etc doesnt mean you can fully take advantage of it.

True, that's why I said "what's possible". Only High MMR people could understand the possibilities of killer and survivor. I mean a 4 man Low MMR swf isn't exactly strong. Same with tunnelling, only strong if you can actually down the survivors quickly.

  • I know Still Sight is a survivor perk, can't change it right now.
