  • @drunky26 Good question! I'd like to point out that when they were first given to us as rewards, people didn't want to wear them as they were too bright, and would give you away. Not everybody wanted to run them like "a trophy" but be able to put them on as and when they wanted to, so I don't believe @Mc_Harty is dumb for not wanting to wear them. A lot of people run just once piece of legacy. They can be pretty rare vs the number of concurrent daily users now. And yes, you were right that they came before the bloodweb change. Bloodwebs were much larger, which required a lot more points to level up. A lot of people, including myself, decided not to prestige characters for that reason, so that we could prioritise solid perk builds. Finding out we had only a week to get our characters prestiged was a rush. I managed to get my Meg up to Legacy 3 (I call her Megacy) and my Claudette to P1. I'd started putting points into my Trapper but didn't manage to get there in time. Anyway, it was a lot of stress and I'm really glad that the bloodwebs changed, but I do sometimes wear the Megacy head to remember the grind that existed back in 2016.

    Stay safe out there! :)

  • Man, the days of no loading bar. They were tough times. Thanks for posting!

  • These are great! <3

  • This is so adorable! The knife still scares me though! XD

  • Thank you for taking the time to post this! It's lovely to see your ideas :)

Giddawid- Just a really chill dude. As you may know, Community Manager for DBD. Plays Killer and Survivor. 2 Main Killers are Huntress and Billy. Racked up nearly 1000 hours in his stream which says a lot about Gid, not just as a streamer, but also as an individual and for me personally, a friend!

Thanks for the kind words, Matty <3 You melon

  • It tends to be good to store up BPs, but I usually end up going in with nothing and grinding it out as I play. It depends on if I have the patience to hold onto them! XD

  • I was around in June/July 2016. I had my first experiences of killers, hid in lockers and long grass (the grass was actually a lot longer back then to hide in or so it seemed) and missed every swing when playing Wraith. Now, 2,800 hours later, I am still doing all of these things ;)

  • I don't put any effort to reading the forums. I'm certainly not going to read your legion overhaul.

    goes to find it

  • Hello @Captain_Spaulding firstly thank you for your feedback. I'm going to try and break it down as best I can to answer your questions :)

When was the last time something was truly fixed? Pallets? That was what...6 months ago? How long did it take for them to even CONSIDER removing pallets?

With the extensive time and effort it took with map design/layout, and with the multitude of maps, it was more figuring out how to remove pallets and still keep the game fair in the process. I believe that many things have been fixed and reworked in the last year, for example perks and offerings, an engine update, the emblem system, whilst also trying to add new content in the process. Is everything perfect? No. Can we change everything at once so that it is? No. It's not possible to balance everything instantly. 6 months may seem like a long time, but with the amount that the programming team are working on, I can assure you that they need every second to work on things.

    @Captain_Spaulding said:
Why does it seems like the devs are getting more and more incompetent at fixing their own game? Why do they refuse to listen to the the people that make sure their game is staying alive this long? However there have been numerous people who have not only came up with genuine solutions to problems ALL of us see, yet ignored all together by the devs.

You're entitled to your opinion. If you believe the team are incompetent. I am also entitled to tell you that as someone who works for the team and has watched them progress and grow over the last 3 years, that I disagree with that entirely. The hard work and effort that is put in every day to making this game is awe inspiring. The amount they get done is incredible, whilst keeping a smile on their faces because they love this game and their jobs. They read forum posts, they listen to feedback, they interact with the community on discord, they work tirelessly with QA testers to figure out what works and what doesn't, whilst also trying to find various fixes to bugs in the process. If it were as simple as "this solution works and is viable" then they find the time to implement it.

Why do we continue to mindlessly support them by buying these skins and dlcs that we know won't actually be putting money into fixing the game or even better it. It just seems it goes right back into the cosmetic department so they can push out even more skins for the mindless sheep to buy. I'm pretty positive that if there were another asymmetrical horror game that looked as good as this, it would be doing a lot better than DBD.

Only about 20% of the cosmetics can be bought with auric cells, the rest can be grinded out in your own time to unlock those cosmetics. None of us are forcing anyone to buy any skins - the money goes towards keeping the business running, paying wages, and how expensive things like dedicated servers (coming in the summer) will be to run and maintain. I don't believe people are purchasing skins as "mindless sheep" as you have called them. The cosmetic team is different to the programming team, so we don't sacrifice time fixing bugs by making cosmetics.

I used to be able to play this game for about 3-4 hours straight on my days off. Now, I can barely handle more than 2-3 matches before I get tired of the bug fest and ######### "optimized" game play. I've tried taking a break and coming back. I've tried to play civ 6 and come back. I just want the band-aids ripped the [BAD WORD] off and this game actually fixed. No more perks to counter perks. No more Killers to counter a specific game play. No more cosmetics. Actual fixes to the game.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you feel that way. The whole team is working hard on continuing to improve the game. I understand that some bugs currently are extremely frustrating (to us as well!) like infinite loading screens etc, and we would LOVE to fix them, and we are working diligently on all that we can.

I just want the devs to seriously get their heads out their asses and do something for us. The people that love this game and want to enjoy it. The people who give them their paychecks.

The people that give us our paychecks are the people we're employed by. The rest of the money is pumped back into the company and making sure that the game is constantly improving, whether people can see that or whether it's behind the scenes. A lot of people expected Dead by Daylight to be "dead by late 2016", and here we are in 2019, with a growing player base and a growing team, trying our hardest to make a fun and enjoyable experience for as many people as we can. Hopefully you can understand the time I've taken out of my day to read and respond to this as best I can, and to let you know that we do care about what players have to say, we care about what the community inputs, and that we ultimately want to continue to build upon the game so that people can enjoy it for years to come. Have a great day <3

  • You can be a merciful killer, and still get a merciless victory. I've given hatch to survivors I think did really well and still come away with the iridescents. It is possible to show mercy, however I tend to show more mercy in my gameplay - leaving the hook, not tunneling etc

  • Players complain. Not killers or survivors. We try our hardest to make sure that we can make the game as enjoyable an experience for everyone. Ultimately that comes with some give or take

  • As I was mentioned in this thread I would like to say that this game is continually going through changes in the hopes of improving the game. Every game is a continuous work in progress, as developers want to add more enjoyable content to their games - if the change doesn't work, it will be revised until we can find a stable medium.

  • @friendlykillermain We understand some frustrations that can come from this but right now we are not working on trapper updates.

  • The offerings are working fine for many people, however the programming team are aware of the issue that some users are apparently having with this, but reproducing the bug has not been successful.

  • I just want to weigh in on this and say absolutely do it. As much as some people think that we don't read this stuff, we love hearing input from the community, myself included. I would also like to state, that we have a dedicated team that are working tirelessly on the game, and they may not always have time to acknowledge everyone directly. That does not mean that we don't appreciate the feedback. Every piece of information helps us, and the well thought out posts can help advance the game itself <3

  • I appreciate the time and effort that has gone into this thread and I have sent it to the design team. Thanks for your feedback, everyone <3

  • I agree with @branchini1979 - also when I need to know if my sacrifice meant that another survivor could escape, then I'll stay and watch as well :)

  • @Rex_Huin Ah, I see. I was focusing more on the title rather than your post under it. As for "looking like a chump", who cares? You win some, you lose some. I try not to take it to heart <3

  • I can understand a reluctancy to do so, especially when there are some incredible cosmetics in the store for a lot of the killers as well. I am slowly working my way through the killers to get them to P3-50 as a personal goal, as I have P3-50'd all but 2 survivors, however I am only doing it one killer at a time, making sure that I can still play ones that I feel comfortable with in the meantime :)

  • I am sorry to hear that some of you are having experiences like this in your games, and I can sympathise with you. I agree with @Eveline that there are different degrees to it, and this is something we want to minimise the gap on. I can assure you that we are looking into ways of lowering levels of toxicity, beyond our banning systems, and also looking into gameplay mechanic changes as well. Ultimately, from my own experience, I try my hardest to separate the emotional side of my brain from the logical side, when it comes to "toxicity". The Meg is teabagging the killer, not the person PLAYING Meg is teabagging me. Separating that has helped me not take it to heart <3

  • I just wanted to say how amazing this participation has been <3 You guys are dedicated, creative wizards and I'm very proud of you all

  • Hello Duck! Firstly, thank you for posting. We always appreciate hearing feedback on things, for better or worse. I sympathise with your situation and understand that it is a frustrating bug. I can assure you that our programming team is working hard to figure out the source of the problem.

As for releasing cosmetics, it's Valentines Day tomorrow, and spreading love and happiness is something that we approve of. Please be aware that the team working on cosmetics is not the same team that works on programming. Have a Happy Valentines Day tomorrow <3

Hope low key OP. Soft counters NOED speed boost, and will make it IMPOSSIBLE for slow killers to catch you if they don't have NOED or PWYF or BL to make them faster.

What I love most about Hope is that if a killer has been swinging at you all game, they then misjudge the distance of the swing a lot of the time because they don't realise that you're faster. It's subtle, but it can be so much fun <3

  • Technician has definitely saved me a few times in the past from a skillcheck like that! Yes, I'm pretty sure it's just coincidental though :)

  • You can run a T3 Myers out of T3 with effective evading and good perk usage, and you can counter NOED by either destroying the totems (bring small game if you really need to) and if you're still struggling then you can run Hope :)

The more threads there are the more the devs will listen. Persistence is key.

Sometimes, one good thread is all it takes; with a good discussion, the pros and cons, the change itself, pros and cons of the change, and a summary of why it would improve the game. Aim for quality over quantity.

And yes, we are always happy to listen to your feedback <3

  • @JanTheMan Rather than just posting that survivors need buffs, could you please expand upon what you would buff? :)

It would be kind of be nice to have a week long DBD event where community managers and moderators visit the "Bug Reports" forum, "Forum Feedback" forum, and "Technical Issues" forum and give replies to as many unanswered questions as possible. They would each get 200-300 Shards for every reply, anything from, "Thanks for letting us know - we'll inform the developers in the next meeting," and "We're already aware of this issue!" to "That's working as intended!" And if the bugs actually gets fixed during the event, they would get special cosmetics, such as a Superman cape on Dwight and a Hatchet shaped like a Rubik's Cube for The Huntress.

All joking aside, I wish moderators are a bit more active in those forums to assure the forum participants that issues are being looked into. Thanks!

I can assure you that our bug report team keep a solid eye on those forums. As for more participation, hopefully my contribution brings you a little solace that we are here and we are listening <3

  • @Crythor Since I haven't seen any other reports of this, I've registered this with our bug team for you. Thanks for letting us know :)

  • @AlwaysInAGoodShape The world is your oyster. You can be as logical about it as you want, or dream big. Totally up to you :)

  • Thank you! A lot of the time, people have really great ideas but don't necessarily expand upon them enough. Being able to prod them in the right direction gives us a lot of really great info that I can take back to the team and discuss.

  • I'm just trying to be more outwardly active on here rather than reading from the shadows XD You guys need to know that we are here and we are listening :) Merry Christmas <3

  • I'll mention it in my next meeting :)

  • The Legion is not a weak killer, but has been discussed on the dev streams as somebody who would be getting reworked to make for a more enjoyable experience on both sides.

You drop players using the R key, which is the same for dropping an item.

As for perks, try them out! If they don't work for you, then you can always switch them out for something else :)

  • I wouldn't be able to give you a definitive ETA but we are working hard on optimisation <3

  • I don't suffer from corn blindness too often - hopefully this is enough proof for you guys! :)

    clips.twitch.tv/SassyGracefulTardigradeMingLee

  • @jackkn12 I'm going to send you a private message and hopefully that will help you make up your mind :)

  • Pretending I don't see a survivor crouching over there very obviously behind that tree, ready to make the flashlight save, and then 180 hatcheting them :)

  • @Poweas I have been the recipient of situations like this and I can understand how frustrating it can be sometimes, when you have done nothing to deserve the "extra attention" from the killer. I look at it as a compliment - I was so much of a threat to them that they wanted to remove me from the game as quickly as they could. I might play the game after a little more cautiously at the beginning because of it. I hope the rest of your games have gone more smoothly :)

  • @burak1998_20 The support staff have checked and found you have several tickets currently with them and they have also previously responded to you. Please note that exchanges may take some time, but they will help as quickly as possible :)

  • I like some of these :) I'll make sure I mention them in my next meeting for you <3

  • @fcc2014 I get to play, just not as much as I would be playing if I didn't have this job XD

  • @amaru1 Reports are viewed on a case by case basis, so we can take into account the entire situation. I wouldn't worry about it :) I'd be happy as a slugged survivor if I bought you enough time to escape. That means I did the best I could for the team at that point, but not everybody sees it like that, which I understand.

  • A lot of the time it is dependent on the situation. I've thrown pebbles before, made noise in other areas, and the killer isn't budging off of that downed survivor. At that point, risking your life becomes a fool's errand rather than a heroic save. Also, taking into account whether or not that survivor can run the killer like you can is something to consider. If I'm running Unbreakable and I know that they could buy me enough time, then trading out the slug could be worth it for you to have the chance to get back up with the perk.

Ultimately, it is a judgement call a lot of the time. I try not to get upset when survivors don't save me, as everyone is at different experience levels, and also they might have seen something that you didn't. The raging at you afterwards is where she has clearly not looked at it objectively, and I wouldn't take it to heart <3 It sounds like you did all you could.

  • Thanks for taking the time to put this together :) The game is always going to be a balancing act when it comes to perks, and we are working very hard on continuing to try and offer the best/fair experience that we can. I appreciate your thoughts on the matter and will notify the design team of the community's concerns
