  • Oh I missed that change, silly slip up.

  • All this is terrible, is there any affordable and okayish VPN out there? I know about nordVPN but even that feels something expensive for me right now, also I don't want to spend money on a VPN I will only be using for DBD since my country rarely has ISPs blocking stuff or accesing pirated content isn't really something that will get you into any trouble normally.

I hope this gets fixed soon 😥 and now that somewhat the biggest streamer of the game addressed this problem in one entire video it seems like a possibility?

people have been complaining that the meta has been the exact same for 5 years

Now people are complaining that their favorite meta perks are being changed

like jfc people, what more do you want

I don't think you can call botany meta but this is pretty accurate, change is good and these kind of changes point towards the concept the devs want on the perk. Also given the new multiple health states meta coming with endurance buffs I think this is a reasonable change honestly.

You are complaining about a Bloodhunt? Are you kidding me? This is the petty I strive for.

I would love for this to happen AFTER the new killer launches for obvious reasons, but I am not going to whine about it, because I am completely and utterly shocked we are getting one.

Yeap, game has vulnerabilites announced in a textbox locked into every single page of this site and they're promoting people to play the game, now I find out, scared of having competition, ignoring their players might get DDoS and well, this post down below explains quite a bit how ######### up that is from bhvr.

You can get someones basically exact location and then with very minor digging probably figure out who lives at the coordinates you just got. I saw this when twitch had an exploit with extensions where malicious people could use extensions to show you your own IP and location and city, and take it.

I wish for VHS the best honestly.

    No news sadly.

If you want to play anyway, you can use Windscribe or Protonvpn for free.

Free VPNs are as bad as playing the game without one honestly.

You fail to miss the point of my post entirely. And, for the record, I play survivor solo queue and I never 99% the gates. Unless the killer stops me, if I get to the gate, I'm opening it and leaving. Probably doesn't make me very popular with other survivors but I'm not throwing away those escape BPs for anyone.

Is the point letting a survivor bleed out just for fun or because you want to avoid getting a 3k instead of a 4k? Because my point goes for the second reason.

  • honestly people feeling alright about having a complete safe zone where to run after being unhooked likely free of worked on generators is a complete ######### situation for the killer. Like you're holding a 3gen or half of the map has it gens done the other half doesn't. You're not going to check as a killer a zone without objectives unless you're dragged there and that's usually a bad call. Being able to think rationally enough to see somewhere in the map has a blessed totem where you can reset all the time and the killer might not want to follow you there because whoever blessed that totem probably did it there because there aren't any objectives for the killer in that zone is just such a strong move given to survivors killer nowadays feels just like a sweat fest at any level of gameplay if you want to get some kills down.

  • @Raiden1 said:

Hex: Thrill of the Hunt. It used to be a pretty garbage perk. It's effect was mediocre, and that is if it was not a Hex perk. With it being a Hex perk, you are using a perk slot for a perk that is pretty weak AND can be disabled permanently at any point by the survivors. Now, increasing the max slowdown to 50% was a step in the right direction, and then they decided to remove the noise notifications for quite literally no reason. The current Thrill of the Hunt is worse than it was before, even though it was a non-meta mediocre perk.

Now, why would I care if Thrill of the Hunt got changed? Well, the build that I have been playing for months now consists of BBQ, Devour Hope, Undying, and Thrill of the Hunt on Nurse. Devour Hope in my opinion is the most fun killer perk in the game, but it is extremely inconsistent because it is a Hex so naturally it can get permanently disabled by survivors. My build's goal is to make Devour Hope as consistent as possible, with absolutely zero gen slowdown / regression perks. Thrill of the Hunt is a VITAL part of my build as the noise notifications tells me when a survivor is working on my totem so I need to blink to the totem and defend my Devour Hope.

Let me try to provide you a comparison to try to show you how stupidly frustrating this change was. Take Dark Devotion, for example. Terrible perk aswell, when you hit the Obsession the Obsession gains a terror radius and the killer loses theirs. Keep in mind that the noise notification from Thrill of the Hunt is the only reason why people would ever run it, while the cleansing slowdown is just a nice little side effect. For Dark Devotion, becoming undetectable is the only reason why people would ever run it, while the Obsession getting a terror radius is just a nice little side effect. This Thrill of the Hunt change is the equivalent of when the killer hits the Obsession with a basic attack the Obsession gains a terror radius of 50 meters instead of the old 32 meters, but the killer does not become undetectable, thus being a net nerf on a garbage perk, just like Thrill of the Hunt.

I love BHVR's game, the amazing concept of DbD, the lore, everything except what the actual gameplay is like. I feel like the devs have really gone in the wrong direction in terms of making the game fun, they are essentially forcing the only viable killer builds to consist of pretty much all gen slowdown / regression perks, which is not fun for either side. Killers want to run stupid stuff like Enduring Spirit Fury or 50 / 50 pig, and survivors don't want to deal with 4 of the 5 main gen slowdown / regression perks Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, and Pop every single game. While yes, they improved quality of life with Trapper Plague and Demo, as a high MMR killer that stuff literally does not matter to me. If I load into a game as Trapper I've already lost. It's not fun going against a 4 man stretched res swf in the majority of your matches, and now they have boon totems to further insult the killer. Just please, use your brain BHVR, I think you are taking steps in the right direction such as the trapper rework, and then I see you do something extremely pointless and dumb such as nerf Deathslinger and Thrill of the Hunt. I believe in y'all, please don't let us down.

Because Thrill was often used with totem camping strats which worked effectively and in a really frustrating way against soloq and did nothing against premades. Having a Devour Hope, Ruin, Plaything, current Blood Favor or Crowd Control undealt with for an entire game in an indoor/small map is something so extremely hard to deal with unless you have really good communication amongst your team. This is a way to ######### over boon totems but the perk landed in a even more niche spot after the rework, but is still in a better place than perks like unrelenting, beast of prey or territorial imperative if you ask me.

  • @DbDCasual said:

I don't get it. Is the extra kill that important to you? I think that's bad enough but what is with killers who slug the last guy just to watch them die on the ground? Why? What's the point? How is that fun for you? Standing there for however long while the survivor bleeds out?

    I do no get it.

Survivors rarely care for the fun of the killers and just want everyone out, why should the killers concede a win to one of the four players in the match, given that survivors when facing and succeding over a killer using measures that they consider scummy will always teabag in the exit gate and bad manner the killer any occassion given.

You want to escape if possible all 4 of you, that's why almost always nobody starts egc unless everyone is safe as survivor and that's why killers are entitled for a sweaty endgame slug to avoid hatch searching/door rotating during egc.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2542916#Comment_2542916

So them quick swapping some how deletes all walls on the map?

Yeaah I guess you didn't play this game enough to know you can blind killers from the weirdest most surrealistic angles even when looking into a wall, that accounting that every survivor will go down next to a wall or far from a pallet. Only solution to that will be starting a chase with another nearby survivor and if they're good they're spacing enough to have enough time to get a hit on them while the downed survivor already got up. But yeah walls mate ezpz just pick next to a wall flashlights are useless.

  • @Shroompy said:

every tried looking at a wall? Franklins perhaps? Maybe a little bit of Lightborn?

that stuff doesn't help when most of those big r squads swap in the last second.

  • I mean I believe we should care for each others fun but I don't believe survivor side often plays it out in a sportmanship way at least from my own experience. It's usual, now more than ever previous to the keys nerf, to see survivors bringing keys, maps and normally strong medkits and full meta perk builds. I see why killers can still have fun by playing it fair but honestly one gets tired after playing against too many bad sheep that regardless on how you play it out, love to taunt and mock you with gate teabagging, click spamming, talking ######### in post game chat, frequency going up based on you playing killers that they personally consider unfair aka Spirit, Nurse, Blight, Twins.

I believe the community of this game earned me focusing on my personal experience and fun over trying hard through abusing ######### mechanics like slugging, tunneling and proxycamping when I feel like it might be worth it after all the ######### I had to go through by more experienced players when I was starting out and still believed that the game was worth keeping it fun for everyone.

That's okay this is a discussion and we're here to post out opinions and discuss, but still nobody asked about an awkward unrelated play time flex after implying I'm a new player for whatever reason, on a discussion about dc penalties after claiming there's somehow "hundreds of bugs and gamebreaking issues", which isn't true. This game has a sea of nuisances but barely any gamebreaking bug that might happen once in a long while. Calm down bebe. :'(

That's quite the stretch. There are bugs yeah and the game isn't on a good state gameplaywise but being someone running the game with a 1050ti and a [BAD WORD] processor and not having a single crash since Nemesis idk about what to tell you about your take.

"I am entitled to your time, and only care about my experience when playing a multiplayer game."

If you're ruining others experience by significantly dropping the chances on escaping a game then you get a penalty. You're entitled to play whatever you want, not to [BAD WORD] with others experience and expect no backlash for it. If you don't like the game enough you end up asking for dc penalties to be out because you'll be willing to frequently dc, based on your take right there, then move on to another game.

As a solo survivor with over 3000 hours im being put with teammates with under 500 and it is not getting any better really. Just got someone with 81 hours as a teammate...

Its very inconsistent when i play killer as well, some are very good some are very very poor.

Did anybody really expect this to work though? I get lobbies with my most played killers on which I constantly get 4Ks or hatch 3Ks with a good emblem system score, against survivors that can't barely loop me or don't know about anything but pressing forward, getting always smashed by any kind of simple redlight hiding mindgame. As a survivor I get either matched with amazing players and players that just got into the game.

At least the old system was somewhat consistent with keeping the extra casual players stuck in yellow/green ranks because they would not spam the game at all and would not climb through ranks. The thing with having both average and high skill rank players thrown into the same lobby is still a thing. This system is just a placebo that coincidentally happens to have a higher rate of side favourable map offerings thrown into games.

Honestly sharing opinions with friends and watching casual streamers (I'm excluding anyone at the level of Zubat, Cope, ScottJund or whoever off what I'm about to say) mostly everyone lands at the opinion that barely anything changed if things we're actually made notoriously worse, being the worst subjects to it soloqueue survivors.

This is another "bhvr pls" meme. It was pulled off so bad it would be comical if it was not as depressing to see a company treat a playerbase like this given how the last few months have been bug wise and performance wise. This system is just a big ######### dissappointment.

  • It's probably a bug related to disconnecting during some animations. It happens mostly during hooking animations which might have something related to a survivor, probably the carried one, killing the process mid animation or just dcing from the game right as soon as you start the hooking animation. Hopefully they fix this soon, it's so easy to deny adepts atm. 😭

Unlucky, but that's not on bhvr.

  • @DieGräfin said:

The problem for me is I only play surv. After some weeks I start playing DBD again and all I have to say is, the daily missions are absolutely nonsense for me. I only get killer quests, I can refresh every day but nothing changes. Why is there no option to choose? Do you want a daily quest for survivor or for a killer?

Why the game wants that I have to play a killer for some blood points? I have now since 3 weeks only killer quests. I try it once but I gave up. Killer is nothing for me.

There should be option where I can choose. Survivor or killer.

I believe dailies are there to promote players to try and play both sides. If you don't want to play anything but survivor then use your daily reroll hoping for a survivor challenge. Dailies are okay, they could be more rewarding because the grind is ridiculous but that's about it.

Could I be Banned for throwing games and depipping for this?

No, not really, just don't idle or spam dc on too many games and you're good. Playing bad or lazily does the trick.

  • @SeannyD115 said:

No because there is no counter play to that. You could just tunnel someone with deep wounds and eventually down them.

I mean as long as deep wound doesn't drain mid chase, that could work out and give a bit of pressure to the killer.

  • @Shaped said:

Honestly if I see people running stealth blending outfits I'll turn on nvidia filters since it's just a few clicks so that doesn't work anymore, I hate immersive players and will likely tunnel them out of the game pretty fast and cosmetics shouldn't be an advantage in the game, those should be just cosmetics. Cheers.

  • @BrodieDBD said:

I've lost count how many times I've been exhausted on the floor and it's just so annoying when you think you pulled off the perfect dead hard but you just end up going down anyway. Would be nice if the same system for pallet hits was also put in place for dead hard so it would actually feel like the perk worked consistently.

No, pallet validation cancel the hit through a stun, cancelling the hit through deadhard would be really awkward for the killer to work up with, as it would be awkward to program it without ######### up the killers screen for a second. Try to notice instead on the first hit how hard the killer is lagging and use it more or less safely regarding that.

  • @ZaroktheImmortal said:

So a rank 1 killer had downed everyone but me and one other after they had tunneled the entire match as blight then instead of hooking the other they let them up and the other survivor pointed me out where I was to them. Isn't that an offense that can get them banned? Not to mention really crap play on both their sides. Seriously players like that should be kicked out of the game after I made that report I hope they actually do something about people like that.

You need footage to add to the report, then they might get punished for teaming up with the killer if it was somewhat obvious.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

I'm not talking about being slow or inefficient I mean legit not touching gens at all.

I just had a game where none of my team even went near a gen at all, 10mins into the match I'm still the only one to of touch gens and lead on chases. They're all just walking round the map not doing a thing

That relies mainly on what the game outcome is. If the remaining survivors in the trial decided to sneak around without touching gens, making the game really hard to finish since the killer might not find nobody in a long time that's called holding the game hostage. If someone is just taking a stroll while there's activity in the game that's just being useless/bad, not something reportable if it fits just being bad/oblivious at the game, as long as holding a game hostage doesn't end happening.

Has anyone else seen this happen?

Yeah, since last patch sets of scratchmarks have been spawning with a bigger delay and became really inconsistent, as in scratchmarks will spawn on walls but not floors, sometimes scratchmarks keep going past a doorway when they really got in, whilst the first set of scratchmarks on that doorway didn't even spawn when you checked due to the bigger delay. I have been spamming the game since Twins release playing mostly killer and the change is pretty noticeable to me. I don't know why this isn't being called out by many more people appart from two or three threads about this. Maybe it's rig related or something when on PC.

    @EntitySpawn

Because everyone who quick-switches brings a key. 🙄

I've never heard or read a dev saying that, and I don't usually take someone's word for it. Matter of fact, I do not care because my stance is still the same. If you cry about quick-switching (something which is allowed) then we should do the same about allowing us to see who the killer we're facing is. End of story.

You're comparing here seeing what item, not the addons, not the perks, just the item the survivor is bringing (which would only help decide on how viable would bringing this or that perk would be) to know what killer you are facing, knowing what power you're gonna be playing all against, most of them having direct counters to them (e.g. 4 spine chill, flashbang/flashlight against wraith, 4 iron wills+fixated against Spirit, Calm Spirit against Doctor, etc).

I don't really think that's a fair point to make, buddy. You should at least try and make a tiny bit of sense. 😕 End of story.

  • @Katzengott said:

    What is the reason?

How can i adjust my build, like bringing Franklins against 4 items, bringing a hook offering against potential sabo toolboxes, Lightborn against multiple flashlights or unequip my hex perk when 1 brings a map, if survs are able to equip or change their item last second?

Because bringing keys into the game would become impossible unless playing against unaware players/complete psychotryhards and that wouldn't benefit survivors, so it's not a needed change.

Best solution to this would be locking survivor builds past 30s mark so you can decide on getting different perks depending on what items survivors are carrying, but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon, if at all.

  • @MyersIsPantless said:

why? why do you feel the need to make sure someone doesn’t get their achievement?

I hop into a locker forcing him to hook me, I ain't gladly dying on 0 hooks with no interaction with the killer besides getting stared at and then having the chase dropped for the rest of the game while he tries to mori me. If you want it you earn it, I'll gladly give the kill once I'm past stage two.

  • but it was announced it would be on sale 😄

  • I literally bought the demo with cells an hour BEFORE the chapter went on sale.

buddy you should really read posts just a little bit more to notice things like this. this is not on them and their eula allows them to deny you an in-game refund.

i'm against it personally because i'd rather support the company directly with any content i buy but if you're gonna be a cheapskate about it why buy it directly in-game and not outside of the game, even outside of steam? things like allkeysohp exist for people that count every penny when buying videogames.

    ETqFH3TXgAIYMQg.jpeg

You guys really have it the worst way possible then. Hopefully the patch runs okay in console, even though I doubt it due to the amount of particles making even my PC lag. I pray for you all.

  • So, do you console people get PTB or that's PC only? If you could access PTB, how was it?

Also, thread name change, had a hard time finding this again >:(

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

And the best designed one, tho not the strongest?

For strength, in first position, it's definitely Pyramid Head. If you get tormented, you'll get tunneled and he can prevent hitting borrowed time survivors jumping in a locker. Then it's cage, go across the map, kill. The best tunneler in dbd imo.

I think he stays in second position as the best licensed killer for design, but the first goes to demogorgon maybe. I dunno, Demo, Nemesis and Pyramid, as amount of features they bring into the game, they are almost in the same position!

Second position in strength imo it's demogorgon, followed by Nemesis, Bubba/Freddy, Pig/Myers, and last Ghostface, since apart from exposing you and crouching and making the red stain disappear doesn't have a real chasing ability and his power is too much depending from recharge add ons

A well played PH is an absolute pain to deal with. Can deny pallets, zone you out of loops, is 115% and has his cage power neglects a lot of strong gamechanging perks.

  • @TheVolgun said:

I think it is about time I make a post about this perk

First I want to get out of the way that NOED is by far the most poorly thought out perk In DBD history.

But why is the perk so poorly thought out, well I personally think it boils down to the fact that it instills a false sense of skill or "doing well" into players that run the perk (especially new ones)

Take a match where the killer only has maybe 2 hooks, once 5 gens are done this could be due to over-committing to chases or just being new, If that killer doesn't have NOED the game is pretty well a loss there isn't going to be a lot that the killer can do unless the survivors decided to play super cocky and get themselves killed.

This outcome is to be expected the killer lost because the performance of the killer in the game was poor.

Take the same situation but through NOED into the mix and now the killer has a very high chance at getting a 4 or 3k simply because of one perk.

Now yes NOED is a hex perk so it can be countered by just finding the totem or pre-cleansing all 5 but the issues with that are that some maps totems are almost impossible to find and the amount of time it is going to take a survivor to find all 5 is basically going to cost them the match.

Now the next question is if I think it is such an issue what is an alternative, I believe there is only one.

Remove NOED from the game entirely, but I understand that will never happen so I shall remain in my fantasy.

I think it is about time I make a post about this perk.

Congratulations! You made the 1000th post ranting about this perk!! [Click Here] to redeem your One Milliom Doller worth of V-Bucks.

The beginning of the end has already begun, before the recent and unwelcome development. If this license isn't reacquired or other recourse occurs, DBD marketing is going to continue to plummet in other ways that won't make the game palatable anymore.

Mark my words, by the end of next year, this game won't have even half it's current player base.

If BHVR lost another license, which lost license would make you stop playing altogether?

None because I already own all the licensed characters I wanted, it's sad to see demo go, knowing that in a year or two he's gonna be the rarest killer to see, but he's gonna stay for everyone that already bought him. If they were to remove the characters from the game, instead of from the store, that would be a different issue.

  • @BioX said:

You can do whatever you want, but think about this:

You are rewarding BHVR with more money....for spending less money on the game and thus on us.

You are giving them money they otherwise might not have gotten for NOT spending money themselves (of which we know they have an obscene amount compared to other devs) to just continue the license.

its your wallet, your choice, just know what you are doing.

bhvr has been doing bad the past few months yet we don't have any idea on why the license was lost, we can only guess and my personal guess is that netflix made it ridiculously expensive to keep the license, to either have an enormous benefit or pull back because it's on their own interest. if you want to drop that take and still have a solid point at least talk ######### over how they are letting last gen players to die off in a hole of performance issues and how they're keeping up with content release instead of fixing and balancing their game.

-50% off is very good deal since then they will be like a legacy items.

might get choker demogorgon head since base skin and prestige skin are pretty good. maybe a Nancy skin but I'm not totally sure since I ain't really into survivor skins of characters that didn't convince on first sight, unlike Nea, Feng, Bill, Cheryl or Zarina.

    Why/Why Not?

No, having some days I land almost every game in McMillan/Springwood/Azarovs maps I really miss hitting maps like midwich, dead dawg or red forest

Yeah, i didn't like reading the FAQ and the very first question just not being answered at all.

As with all live-service games, frequent updates, additions, and the occasional change are to be expected.

this is the vaguest response to what probably was netflix increasing the cost of renewing the license and bhvr saying "######### that"

Are we going to lose other licensed maps or is Hawkin's Lab the only map that is licensed like this?

There's a chance on losing game licenses based on how greedy the owners of them become. My best guess is that after Smite buying the license for way more than the price DBD was paying for it, they wanted to ask more to DBD and they refused to do so. That could easily happen with Silent Hill and Resident Evil at any point given once their license contract needs to be renewed. It would be rare but it could happen too to other licenses. Let's hope that's not the case, so killers and survivors don't become legacy content.

Note: This isn't hate towards leakers or people who keep up with leak pages (I do too), I just want to see what people think.

Leaks really for any game tend to not be the best thing personally, but for DBD it seems like leaks and leak pages are just widely accepted, often posting about future content that is way in advance. I just have to wonder if this a good thing or a bad thing? In some ways it has been positive, often giving us information and dates for things - something that BHVR is very lacking in and could definitely improve on.

But in some other ways leaks also seem really negative. They "spoil" surprises (and before someone says 'just don't look at them lol' they inevitably get spread around if you follow things relating to DBD, its almost hard NOT to see them if you're a fan of the game) for upcoming tomes, skins, changes and even chapter reveals (as we've seen with Hellraiser, indicating early on the chapter would be licensed) - potentially losing the hype / surprise of the teasers (or creating miss-directed hype). Another negative I'd like to highlight was the controversy surrounding the anniversary cakes, where DBD forums and twitter were hounded by players demanding the cakes be stackable based on some assumed left-over code from the year before. It's strange.

There are so many leaks pages and people who discuss them, my question really is do you think they positively or negatively impact the game? Yes, getting early inside knowledge on upcoming content is fun, but then it kind of ruins the surprise and excitement?

Leaks are somewhat controlled. We don't get info on what the next chapter will be about, it's apparently only hype on skin info, which helps the game a lot, and really really vague original characters info as in next chapter will be 2 survivors and 1 killer and whatnot. It wouldn't surprise me that the leaks are revealed to be controlled by BHVR all along.
